  1. View File TSB NCAA 2016 My TSB NCAA 2016 is for this upcoming year. EA always being a year ahead is dumb. This rom is complete and I don't see me making any updated versions in the near future. My teams were ranked according to Phil Steele's Annual Magazine Pre-Season Poll. I used bruddog's thread ranking the teams for MAN games and Phil Steele's Unit Rankings to compare and determine which NCAA team should get which Original TSB offense and defense. I did all the names for every player and the depth charts (from early July) according to Ourlads site and for the gaps I used Phil Steele's Magazine again. RANK - NCAA (TSB OFF/DEF) 1. Florida State (BUF/MIN) 2. Alabama (RAM/CHI) 3. Oklahoma (PHI/RAI) 4. LSU (RAI/PIT) 5. Clemson (SF/RAM) 6. Ohio State (DEN/TB) 7. Tennessee (DET/WAS) 8. Washington (GB/NYG) 9. Week 4-6 Other Non-Conference games Week 7-12 Same Conference, Other Divisions Week 13-15 Divisional Games Week 16 Rival Week Week 17 Conference Championships - based on Phil Steele's Predictions (I added a Big12 Title Game because they should have one.) Other Features: NCAA Graphics Phil Steele's Pre-Season Rankings are on each teams mini helmet (Thanks to Proads26) Worst Possible TSB Roster - Northwestern Wildcats (Thanks to Bodom) Pro Bowl = Army vs. Navy - Theme and Colors (Even Teams - TB Offense & KC Defense) Notes: I don't have the time or really care about skin color or faces, other than some of the starting QB/RB/WR/TE and a few star DEF players, so other players faces and skin color may be off. The OL starting five is right for each team but are out of position as I forgot Ourlads order was different than TSB's. Oh well. Sorry to fans of Army, Navy, Oregon, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Pittsburgh, Air Force, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Utah, Arizona State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan and BYU as they didn't make the cut. Oregon seems to be the only team that you could argue should be in the game but Phil Steele projects that UCLA, USC, Washington and Stanford will all have better years this season and the PAC12 only gets 4 teams in my game. 3. Been brain storming a little on the ramifications of a few changes. Not endorsing or suggesting for a rom hack as i love the original TB as is, but creating discussion and thought. SF with Roger Craigs run to the top(instead of the bottom). Well, this single handed change would practically nullify 5 big time top DE's (along with a couple TOLB's) from the game plan. Dent, Manley, Doleman, Rulon Jones, and Leonard Marshall all get wiped out of the defensive scheme altogether. Then you pretty much cancel out Wilbut Marshall, and Carl banks as well. You can be those guys...but I hope your diving skills are tip top that game, or you will get destroyed. It also nullifies the top DB's...and thats where all the speed from that position comes from. Craig running to the top forces the you to choose a bottom DE/OLB. I don't consider Mann, or Long big time play-makers of the game but they would become pivotal players that would be used to slow down SF...and i don't think they would a do a very good job or it. Of the stand out Bottom OLB's, you only have LT, and Duane Bickett who is more than a marginal player. Of course with the standard Jerry Rice CPU overage scheme which calls for the bottom OLB...you WOULD NOT be able to use those guys or you would further harm the cause! Leaves you having to choose a player from the bottom DE position(with rice already nullified) and leaving the top option of Mike Wilson and Russ Francis WIDE OPEN. I think this would be even a greater advancement then giving Bo 2 run plays. Both offense would be pretty unstoppable, but there really wouldn't be any way to scheme with coverages to slow down SF. At least with coverages you can put LA in a tough spot on pass plays.
  4. Does anyone know if you can change the color of the defensive players name at the top of the screen. I would like to change the color to represent the better players on defense. I am currently working on a ROM hack for a particular season on the Original Tecmo Bowl and the players statistics that display on the Original Tecmo Bowl don't always depict how good they were that season. Rather than change the shown statistic (i.e Sacks, Int) I was thinking if it was possible of making the players names display in GOLD that were ALL PRO that year, and GREEN if they were PRO BOWLERS. That way you could easily identify the better defensive players as you cycle through them.
  5. My appologies if this has been covered before. I am new to these forums but have known about the site for some time. Recently I have discovered an app for my droid phone that allows me to play NES games. When I saw Tecmo Bowl I had to get it. Then I saw all the ROM hacks that people have made and it inspired me to try my first Original Tecmo Bowl ROM Hack. I have been able to do most of it with Emuware's manager, some insight from the prior posts on this forum, and some trial and error on my part. My question for anyone who is capable of answering it is where do I find the defensive assignments for any play but specifically: Miami Pass 1 Miami Pass 2 Denver Pass 2 Dallas Pass 2 and what do they mean. My specific problem is I have swapped out plays for the Miami Playbook. Put in Denver's Pass 2 for Miami's Pass 1 and Dallas's Pass 2 for Miami's pass 2. I have changed the Blitz bytes and the play art for these plays and they work perfectly against 3-4 teams but against 4-3 teams the bottom DB travels to the top of the screen and covers the TE instead of the TOLB and leaves the slot receiver on the bottom (RB is the 3rd receiver in the bottom slot) wide open. This creates problems in two areas. The TOLB is not doing what he needs to against a shotgun formation and either is the bottom DB. My thinking is that if I knew the defensive assignments for the Denver Pass 2 and Dallas Pass 2 then I could copy them into the place where Miami Pass 1 and Miami Pass 2 were and hopefully that would do it, but I have been unsuccessful thus far. I have tried the example from xplozv: "The Def play pointers seem to begin at x1A810. The second byte in the pointers above are the actual defensive play numbers. For example, the blitz byte pointer "06 03", "03" is the defensive play number. To get to the defensive play instructions you must do the following in hex: 03 * 12 + 1A810 = x1A846 That would be the location of def play #03 pointers. You will find these pointers: 3D B1 8C AD 50 B1 63 B1 76 B1 89 B1 94 B1 A7 B1 C2 B1 Take each pointer such as "3D B1", swap the bytes to get "B13D", add x10 in hex to get "B14D", now finally add a "1" in front of it to get "x1B14D". That is where that particular player instructions are located." I am a bit confused when the 2nd play byte is 0E or 2F on how to multiply that by 12 and add it to 1A810 to find the defensive assignments. Sorry for the lengthy post, hopefully someone can help me.
  6. I was putting some new images up on the site and made these. The images here are pretty big. I think they look better when they are a bit smaller on the website. Been reworking the top 10 "Named Games" pages and thew those gems up there. http://www.tecmobowl...best-games.html
