  1. Tecmo Milwaukee Presents: Who's Next? Date: 11/4 Location: Boomers Sports Bar and Grill (Pewaukee, WI) Player field projected at 48 players. Max players cutoff will be at 64 players.Round robin of Division play followed by single elimination tournament. Projected Entry Fee is $40Game Rules: Tecmo Milwaukee rules/ Tecmo Madison rules1) Teams will be tiered in 4 groups of 7 teams. 7 Lotto balls will be picked from before each game to determine which tier teams will be picked from. (1 in 7 chance for Tier 1 teams to be picked). 2) Coin toss winner picks Lotto Ball. Coin Toss Loser picks matchup. Coin toss Winner picks Team or Controller. (Player can only choose a team 1 time during round robin play. Teams resets in tournament play.)3) Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes: Customizing playbooks is permissible. You can access your “change” screen (screen where you check player conditions and make substitutions) only twice per half. This helps speed up the games. 4) WR/TE at RB: A WR/TE cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. You can insert a WR or TE into a RB slot for lead blocking purposes, but he cannot carry the football. To further clarify, players such as Ernest Givins, Ricky Sanders, Mel Gray, Keith Jackson and Andre Rison cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. 5) No Ties/Overtime: No game can end in a tie. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. If no one scores in the first OT, a new game will begin and the first competitor to score will be declared the winner. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in each OT period, the kicking team in the first OT will be the receiving team in the new game (i.e. the second OT). 6) Lurching: Lurching is prohibited. If you want to rush with a DL, you must either go outside the offensive tackle or “popcorn” someone on the offensive line. Note that this rule does not apply to LBs. 7) Nintendo Malfunctions: If there is an equipment failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start. If equipment malfunctions in the 2nd half, only the second half is replayed. In that event, the scores from each half are added together to obtain a final score. If the game was uncompetitive or the equipment malfunctioned due to human error, the tourney organizers reserve the right to declare a winner without replaying any portion of the game. Tournament Disputes: Rico, Coconuts, Troy and myself. 9) Controllers: Tournament competitors are not allowed to bring their own controller to use in games unless approved prior to tournament. Tournament organizers will coordinate obtaining equipment for the competition. Entry Deadline is 11/1 Email address: [email protected] Top 8 places paid out. Each tournament has been a huge success fielding a very competitive playing field coming from all parts of the country. The venue is fantastic with great service, food and of course Adult Solutions. Our set up is fantastic with game play moving fast and furious. There is large interest already for this tournament. Don’t miss out! Thank you, Hardy Nickerson
  2. So I know i'm not the only one and I know Midwest Tecmo, Northeast Tecmo and Madison Tecmo all stream their tournaments (which are awesome to watch!), but i'm throwing my hat in the ring, too, because... why not? I'm doing it, I might as well briefly advertise that I do. For a while I was doing Let's Plays on Youtube with newer roster edits of the original game (There's a thread for it buried somewhere), but editing is obnoxious and I grew tired of doing it. Plus I have a real 40 hour-a-week job, so I don't have the time. But I do have time to stream a few nights a week for an hour or two. So... long-winded and all, if you're interested in watching another person stream Tecmo Super Bowl, follow me on Twitch. If not, ignore my post. It will mostly be season-runs, as every instance i've had of playing in the TPC online arena has ended with me getting throttled. However, maybe a possibility down the road if the stars align. Anyways, link below. If enough people start showing up, i'll set up my microphone. Otherwise, i'm just playing various created music playlists in the background and talking in chat. Thanks for reading! https://www.twitch.tv/joncarrnage
  3. View File TSB 1992 This is an update of TSB for the 1992 season. I have updated the rosters and schedule and I have tried to keep the player attributes as close to the original as possible. Enjoy! Submitter ShowMeYourTDs Submitted 04/25/2022 Category NFL By Year

  6. Here we go. We're actually doing it. We're gonna let Johnny Johnson run wild in the Beaver (state). SirTed and I will be crossing the mighty Columbia to bring the Tecmo heat into the Rose City. Even though Gripsmoke and Tailback King are the only Tecmoers to make much noise out of P-town (one with his play, the other with his spray), they are both HOFers, and Oregon is due for some hot Tecmo action. WHEN January 28th, 2017, 11 am. (The Saturday between the Conference Championships and the Superbowl) WHERE Concordia Ale House 3276 NE Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97211 (Ground Kontrol isn't big enough for all us heavyweights, I'm still down to hit it up after) WHAT Tecmo Super Bowl... and more... (get some) WYMAN well... Seattle has juice and Centralia is... centrally located, but it's time to mix it up and let Portland get some shine. The City of Roses. Bridgetown. Rip City. PDX. One of the jewels of the region and home to something in the sports world we are sorely lacking in Seattle- NBA Basketball. Ted and I will be parlaying our journey South into Friday Night Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trailblazers action 1/27. Hope you can join us. AND This tournament will not just be a Tecmo Super Bowl showdown. In honor of Clyde the Glide, Terry Porter, and Rick Adelman's mustache, this event will also feature a (very small) Tecmo NBA Basketball Tournament. RIP CITY WHERE YOU AT TBK!? LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (as if there was any doubt... I'm already putting you on the list, best make it happen) 1. Gripsmoke 2. Tailback King 3. DT 4. SirTed 5. Kamphuna 6. MAD MANYO 7. Tick 8. Xtra Largent 9. This is your chance to be a part of the FIRST MAJOR PORTLAND TECMO Tournament and the FIRST (albeit very small) TECMO NBA BASKETBALL Tournament! MORE DETAILS We are STARTING at 11 am. Please don't be late. Show up EARLIER than 11, so we can do last second adjustments, explain the rules, and get to playing right away. Entry Fee: $30. Payouts: $60 to the top newcomer. 3rd place gets their money back. $60 for 2nd place. Champ takes home the rest. Loser's bracket champion will once again have their choice of two prizes with the Loser's bracket runner-up getting the other. FORMAT Standard Madison Rules for all matchups. You may only call a certain matchup ONCE the entire day. There will be 5 rounds pitting two random participants vs each other. Names will be drawn out of a hat and pitted against each other. At the conclusion of 5 rounds, the 8 competitors with the best winning percentage will be put into a double-elimination bracket to decide the Portland Tecmo Champion. ALL GAMES in round 3 will be Dallas vs Phoenix: The JOHNNY FREAKIN JOHNSON round. The 1st tiebreaker will be opponent's winning percentage, the 2nd tiebreaker will be Tecmo NBA winning percentage and the 3rd tiebreaker will be combined Tecmo NBA and TSB score differential. (Don't worry if you can't hoop, The 2nd and 3rd tiebreak shouldn't be a factor, really) Cash prizes will be given out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the Top Newcomer. The remaining competitors will be seeded into the loser's bracket to duke it out for their choice of a consolation prize. If you were in Seattle this September, it will be very similar in structure to that only this time- 1) If you are late, you take an L. Be there at 11 am or risk forfeit. Exceptions will be made if we took a while to get organized or there is a shortage of TVs and there were delays otherwise, but lets everyone try to be there and ready to play by 11 am! 2) Everyone will get at least 6 games. Last time a certain amount of losses booted you, but this time, you can keep rollin and fight for improved seeding. And also, there will be some action on the side- A March Madness style single elimination Tecmo NBA tournament. Seeded randomly, this will only be for a trophy and bragging rights. Pick and rolls will be executed. Facials will be administered. Roundball will be run, but the focus will be on Tecmo Super Bowl, cause thats whats up. SEE YOU SATURDAY @PortlandTecmo

I was thinking at least Minnesota people and my brothers will attend but if anyone else would be willing I would be more than happy to welcome you with "Open Arms." I don't know about the bar situation so I would have a garage session. It's a huge garage and is very clean @segathonsov , @Nostradamus, @8-bit can verify. I will spread out the Nintendo's and also have a bbq and beer. We will have plenty of wipes and we can have BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller) or I can issue a disinfected one for you to use. I wanted to throw it out there just to see if there was interest. Right now we are limited to outdoor settings of 10, but if things change I would be open to having it. 9. PNW HONBASHO 1 - Behind the Wooden Shed Bleachers Pub 8560 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103 10 am Saturday Jan 26th $20 Rookie Entry Fee, $30 Veteran Entry Fee BEAST For the latest and greatest Tecmo Tournament, we will be drawing from the ancient tradition of SUMO. This makes a lot of sense because 1) Tecmo also originated in Japan 2) When players are grappling in Tecmo, it looks a hell of a lot like Sumo wrestling 3) There are a lot of beefy competitors in our Cascadia Contingent. I'm looking at you @XtraLargent 4) @kamphuna8 is a big fan of the sport 5) It provides us with an excuse to incorporate words like Yokozuna, banzuke, and kachi-kochi So for the Honbasho which just means major tournament, we will first determine a pre-tournament ranking, which will be set by past results. The ranking will determine a great deal of the schedule, aka the Banzuke. The first division is the San'yaku. It will be comprised of the four most recent Champions. The San'yaku for this tournament will be: Kamphuna @kamphuna8 The most recent Portland and most recent CFT Season Champion Ptitteri @ptitteriThe most recent Seattle Champion QB Fairfield @fairfensheeding CFT 2 Champion Vader @invader_star64 Portland 2016 Champion If one of those guys can't make it, @gripsmokewill join their ranks for having somewhat recently won a very competitive Manyo Mayhem tourney. Next up is me @DT. for having won the previous Mayhem If Peter aka @moonwalk somehow made an appearance, he would supersede us both as Seattle 2015 title winner. After some debate, I will not be counting @Tick's season zero CFT championship, though his accolades throughout his career will ensure him presence in the second division. I'll be working out a formula to determine the ranking officially, but I am certain that @manYo720 will fill out this division, the Makuuchi. The next division will be the Donkey Division comprised solely of @~Tailback King~ and @XtraLargent as the only competitors they could possibly be lumped in with are each other. Just kidding, they will be in the Juryo which is the next four ranked players, I would imagine being headed up by @boogiewithstu and whoever ends up being highest ranked among the likes of whoever else puts their name in the hat. After that is the Makushita which is an unspecified number of players comprised of any other veteran of a PNW Tecmo event, and the Sandanme will consist of every untested rookie that might get involved. These rankings will determine the each competitors' first three or four matches, with the top ranked players facing tougher competition, after that, match-ups will be determined by record, with each player playing the same amount of matches. Once we finish a round and there are 1 or less players who have yet to record 4 losses on the day, a champion will be crowned, with playoffs to determine tiebreaks, including potentially, for the title. If you recall the Mayhem tourneys that were quintuple elimination, it will be very similar to that, with the major exception that everyone will keep playing until the end. What I am hoping to achieve with this format is some great battles for regional Tecmo supremacy and some more stiff contests on down the ladder as players jostle for position, which will hopefully carry on to further tournaments down the road! There will once again be FUN prizes, themed rounds, and trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! I am HOPEFUL that this tournament will end significantly earlier then the average CFT tourney (7 or 8 pm) Get your name in the hat so I can work out the Banzuke asap. The venue is a classic neighborhood sports pub that I knew was the place when I saw someone had hooked up an Atari Flashback to one of the TVs. This in addition to them having a few arcade cabinets on site such as Street Fighter II. There is also an arcade/pinball oriented bar right next door called Coindexter. THE BEST PART of this place is that it is in the heart of Sea-town yet somehow has a HUGE free parking lot right there due to a closed DMV. It also has an alley for super-easy unloading of TVs and equipment. I am designing this to be the most action-packed Tecmo Super Bowl tournament yet. Hope to see you all there for the beginning of the next chapter in Cascadia FUCKING Tecmo! 10. As Tecmo Milwaukee approaches, we are GBLAN are going to put the equipment through its paces by hosting a tournament a week from today. The stakes are low, but so is the cost to participate, only $10. Standard Madison game rules apply. Group play will be followed up with a double elimination bracket. There will be no less than 8 functional setups. Our goal is at least 16 players. Any help getting the word out is appreciated. Proceeds will go towards additional items needed to add to our game recording capabilities. The tournament main system will be setup to stream via twitch at twitch.tv/trojan1979 Please RSVP at https://www.facebook.com/events/1696079260631854/ Thanks, Trojan
  11. Hey guys, here is a example of me choosing the Seahawks against one of the all-time greatest D's, the Chicago Bears. And by the way, the 1st play of the game was a Safety by Joe Nash. And also, in the 2nd image is my playbook choice for Seattle, :).
  12. When I was at the Detroit Kumite tournament last weekend, a number of players from the Cleveland area who I had never met before attended as well and we all had a great time! Many of these guys already get together a few times a year to play casual Tecmo Super Bowl at various venues. I collected emails and some cell phone numbers for players that wanted to provide one. This post is to see who would be interested in getting together potentially quarterly to play Tecmo Super Bowl and perhaps consider doing a Fantasy Football League in the fall for anyone who enjoys both Tecmo and Fantasy Football and lives in or near Northeast Ohio. If this is something that interests you, please message me and provide your email address and cell phone number, as I will be creating a text distribution group in addition to the email distribution list once we finalize the initial details. If you could also let me know ideas for places to meet, how many systems, cartridges, controllers and TVs you would be willing to share with the group, that would also be helpful. The idea is to simply get a group of great guys together semi regularly who enjoy both Tecmo Super Bowl and NFL football. Thanks in advance for your consideration. More to follow after I collect everyone's thoughts and responses.

  14. Green Bay WI, 8-3-2017 6:30PM - GBLAN Presents, 3rd Beebe, a Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament My wife is due with our 3rd child at the end of August. This is the first available Thursday night after baseball season ends for those in our area. Thursday night tournaments have been a great way to get that accelerated tournament experience. Our last two tournaments got us 49 total participants. Here is the official FB page for signup http://tinyurl.com/3rdbeebe Sign up at 6:30, games start by 7PM. Games are played on official NES hardware, or hardware clones with real cartridges, no rom dumps or emulation. Controllers are NES OEM, and games are played on CRT tvs. We can do up to 18 stations, but will likely have 10-12 setup. To this point we haven't had any waiting due to unavailable systems since moving to our Thursday format. Official rules can be viewed on this document. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UYEmVzFUs7dJtfOB7IY-b8n3PpURXaZQH8cX04dh1no/edit?usp=sharing If we exceed 16 players we will use a group play format, followed by a single elim bracket. If we are at 16 or under, we will use a standard challonge double elim bracket. The entire event goes on for about 4 hours typically, with the majority of the field done by 10 or so.. The last two times we had pizza provided by a sponsor, and we are working to see if we can get them onboard again. Drinks are $1 off for participating. Entry fee is $10 per person. Payout is 50% to 1st place, gift certs to 2nd and 3rd place, remaining proceeds go to pay for equipment. Please RSVP on the FB page if you are coming. If you are interested in coming, and not use Facebook, you may message me on the boards, or email [email protected] with your intentions. Hope to see you there! Trojan

Format will be informal, decided the day of the event and depend on number of participants and systems available. We guarantee the following: - At least 4 rounds of preliminary seeding where players with like records face off each round - A single or double elimination bracket where teams will be drafted based on seeding - (SF, GIA, BUF, HOU excluded from the draft) - If you win in the bracket round you can keep your team or swap teams with your opponent - Payouts to the top 4 finishers ($160. $80, $40, $20 if we get 16 guys) This format allows everyone to play a lot of meaningful games and is extremely fair and laid back If time permits, we will also have a single or double elimination NFL Blitz 2000 side tournament on N64. Participants are welcome and encouraged to order from the menu and BYOB. I have eaten there a number of times and everything is great - the dough is homemade every day and they make awesome pizza (I also love the JoJos) below is a link to the menu. Hope to see you there! https://www.orderstart.com/mobile/italiangarden#menuPage
  16. Here we go again! I'm trying to improve my commentary (still relatively new to this) and i've decided to take on the task of trying to lead Blake Bortles and crew to the top of the football world. For those uninterested, feel free to resume your regularly schedule tecmo bowlin' ways. Peace! Episode #10 [Games 1/2] vs. Panthers, Dolphins VIDEO ON YOUTUBE
  17. http://kotaku.com/5940800/just-in-time-for-the-nfls-kickoff-its-tecmo-super-bowl-2013 "New England's Rob Gronkowski is the "cover" star for Tecmo Super Bowl 2013 a fan-made, free mod of the NES all-time classic NFL game that puts the modern game and all of its stars and uniform colors into the old Tecmo Bowl structure. The ROM is available for download now. Its rosters are current as of Sunday, "giving players the same great gameplay experience they've loved for years and years, with the added bonus of players who haven't actually been retired for years." Features this year now include "enhanced passing accuracy and control." Also quickness, an attribute that had no meaning to defensive players in the past, now governs how fast they run if they intercept a pass or pick up a fumble. "Tecmo Super Bowl 2013 is available for free," brags TecmoBowl.org. "You won't even need a Kickstarter account to get THIS reward." I can get behind that. The ROM can be found at the link."

Welcome to the future. 2024 will introduce 16 teams for the Big Ten and 16 teams for the SEC, thus in the words of the media making 2 Super Conferences. First off, thank you to Baron Von Lector. This ROM is a variation of his hard work. If you haven't check out his other ROM hacks on his site. I tried Super Mario with SNES graphics, pretty cool. Next, since we don't know accurate rosters for 2024, I went ahead and created a LEGENDS edition. Best of the best for each school. Turned out to be much more difficult for teams like Rutgers and Vanderbilt haha. I like TSB3 so added a couple of features that are borrowed from there. Field is one color for simplicity and to fix a couple of minor field glitches with the original rom. Changed a lot of colors. There are 2 versions, neither are more or less difficult. If you wish to modify to amp the JUICE, there are plenty of articles on this site to help you do that. Basically, there is a VANILLA version with little to no hacks involved and one that I added a few hacks that I see as adding to the game. These hacks are: Add Hut to Pre-Snap Decrease Fumbles by 30% Various Special Teams Hacks (Directional Punts, kickoff locations moved, touchbacks moved, add touchbacks for kickoffs, wedge kickoff return) Remove Excess Diving by CPU. Makes it a lot more difficult if you can't just fake the CPU to get them to dive haha Player Controlled QB Rollout. Change Preseason music to use Pro Bowl values. I want to say thank you to everyone on this site who has contributed. I've had a LOT of fun playing these variations, especially the college ones (I find college to be more exciting than pro personally) and especially the SNES versions, I'm not there yet personally, but I admire what some can do. Wish we could get an NCAA TSB3 at some point, maybe I'll try to attack that next. Obviously there is talk of further expansion of these conferences, so at some point maybe I'll replace the lesser teams with newer additions if/when that happens. Also, perhaps the new Big 12 could play one of these conferences. All ideas I'm floating but want to see if this one goes over well or if it's not worth the trouble. I personally am enjoying playing this and feel like it's a solid idea, but I can't say for certain. If there are suggestions that you want to pass along, feel free, although please keep in mind I'm fairly new at this so bear with me. Was a lot of fun to do though.
