  1. It was really fun despite allowing WR at RB. I don't feel like doing game-by-game recaps, but flo and I had a really good game. We played in the first round of the tourney after the round-robin was completed (round of 16)... he almost tied it up on the last play of the game after a long cc to Tim Mcgee. Then I won the elite 8 via blowout. The guy I played (Josh, the tourney organizer) was a really good sport, despite not getting any breaks. I hope him and a few other guys trek up to minny to play some games sometime... I would have hung out after the tourney, but the roads were amazingly terrible, and I was visiting my fiance's family. Ah well, gg Josh. Final Four was interesting, but was also part of the main problem I had with the tourney. I managed to win by a few scores, but the matchup was Oilers (me) vs Eagles (him). It was pretty much decided by the coin flip and a fumble, because stops with both teams are pretty hard to come by... with the exception of called plays. I admittedly was on the receiving end of a lot of luck, but I dont mind so much because one of the two fumbles was a notorious QB Eagles fumble. I also purposefully onside-kicked the ball with 2-3 mins left in the 4th when up by 1 TD, because I wanted him to either score fast or to recover it (which I did). These were slightly offset by some really bad passing accuracy by a good condition Moon (overthrows and such). It was a fun game, although I think worse teams would have been a lot more entertaining and fair. Oh by the way, the Oilers were even better than usual, because they allowed WR at RB For all actual bracket games, we had "gentleman's agreements" of sorts... the first two rounds were really fair middle of the road/ above average teams. But for the final four and championship games, my opponents only wanted to outlaw the niners (which in my opinion, weren't even the best team when you allow WR to play RB). Championship game was really fun, and I lost 14-10 with Chicago vs. the Oilers. You could probably see that coming from the paragraph above. I thought I had a chance with Carrier, but the Bears D proved to not be fast enough. An entertaining side note: I had beat the guy I played (Moonwalk from these forums) last tournament with the Steelers vs the Oilers. Anyway, I couldn't stop him with the slow defense and a good condition Givins at RB, and I couldn't muster much offense with RJ ball-hawking and him sitting on the run pretty much. I was pretty much dominated the entire game because of this. However, I managed to make it a game in the 4th quarter when I was down 14-3, with 3 minutes left. I chucked it up with a good condition Harbaugh to a good condition Muster to set up a score with 1:30 left. Then, I recovered the onside kick and marched downfield to his 1 yard line. I'll mention here that you were only allowed to access the change screen twice per half... so I had already used mine to sub out my RBs and put them at WR for the deep ball... meaning, I couldn't put my actual RBs back in at RB for this critical final drive. I think it was pretty amazing that I even got one yard on this drive with Gentry at RB I'm at the one yard line with 3 seconds left. I call pass 1 run and shoot flare c. He calls run 1 pitch up. I have a wide open RB2 in the middle of the endzone. Harbaugh threatens run, Childress approaches. He passes! I'm ready to celebrate! Dropped. gg moonwalk Like I said, great tourney all around... 1000 times more fun than Minneapolis, with more skilled competition on average (only one game I played was a gimme). They improved on the excess of people using the upper tier teams last tourney with a lot of little agreements... but they also still need to tier this tourney. Playing with superpowered teams in important games just isn't a fitting end to such a great event. I would have been much more happy with the Broncos vs the Vikings or something to that effect... a real test of skill.
  2. Five years too late bud. But I'll chime in: 1. 9ers 2. Oilers 3. Dolphins 4. Bills 5. Rams
  3. how about the re-release for cell phones?
  4. even then, a lot of the numbers are wrong.
  5. This isn't drummer4god's insane evangelical christianity vs atheism though... it's more like deism vs atheism.
  6. here's a fun thread with religious zealots smarter than drummer4gawd http://www.puretecmo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20570
  7. be patient with malferds. he does mota laced with coca daily.
  8. I thought I was dead once when robotripping. It wasn't freaky dead though... I was in some kind of purgatory fortress with a giant meat grinder in bottom of my shower that I had to stay away from. I thought I was seeing visions of my past when my friends came to check on me.
  9. Seriously? I believe you. Now I too believe in hell.
  10. You are really dumb and/or permanently damaged from drugs.
  11. Who cares? The graphics hack is awesome.
  12. If you want to distinguish between the QBs sidestepping ability... you can give them 6 RP. If you do that, RS greatly affects initial speed, which makes the guys that can dodge would-be sackers a little different from guys that are just good runners but have no pocket presence. For example, Culpepper would have 25 RS under the 6 RP system, because he sucks at avoiding the sack. Manning would have 44 or 50 RS. To determine QB MS, I usually add rush attempts together with the number of times the QB was sacked. Then I take total sack loss yards away from total rushing yards and calculate YPC based on that number. The NFL counts lost yards due to the sack against passing yards, not rushing yards. The NCAA counts them against rushing though.
  13. buck has given oral sex to the tecmo community. and pandas.
  14. I can't wait, haven't had a good laugh in a while. By the way, I only posted that to get a rise.
  15. He was overstating when he said I had an easy FG... it was first down from his 20. No one kicks the FG in that situation. I didn't say that the better player should win every time... I just complained about the method of my loss. However, double elimination would have made the tourney more exciting, giving better players a better chance. Even a world cup format would have been a lot better.
  16. I'm a poor sport when I get screwed... thanks for the expert analysis though!
  17. You're such an ass... you weren't even there, so don't pretend you know exactly what happened. Inked myself for first place? Fuck you man. It's fairly obvious that I have a good chance of winning most tourneys I participate in... I don't get why you have to be such an asshole. I understand you enjoy seeing the underdog win, but trying to make it look like something it wasn't is really stupid. Here are the facts: I lost on total, excessive bullshit. I did not have a good time at the tourney. That's basically it.
  18. I don't think I'm ranting like a little kid... this guy basically has no humility and is rubbing his win in my face. When I win on total bullshit, I admit it and apologize. I don't expect my opponent to say "good game" and be happy about it.
  19. If I had won, I would have overcome the most adverse luck ever... so yeah I would have shaken hands. If it were a tourney just "for fun", then yeah, I don't mind getting beat by a way worse player on random stuff. But I really wanted to win the Wii as an engagement gift for my fiance, so losing that way really pissed me off. I can guarantee that I would have won that game 9 times out of 10. And no, you didn't even come close to winning fair and square... tecmo basically tied my arm behind my back for me (and I still almost beat you). Quit your yapping and realize how insanely lucky you were; thank the tecmo god for your good fortune and be done with it. Bragging about beating a guy with only like 20 earned yards of offense, 3 fumble recoveries, his offense dropping several wide open passes to good receivers, and a couple FG miscues is like bragging about beating up the best ultimate fighter after he was just run over by a bus.
  20. my sportsmanship was perfectly fine considering the nature of the loss... im not going to say good game and shake hands when it was the worst game ive ever played. if i had lost to someone beating me fair and square, that's another story. losing that way was basically like losing to a guy that can flip heads 12 times in a row.
  21. randomness is fine, just not in excess!
  22. Don't leave the game to chance? Are you kidding?
