DeBerg got a reaction from Tunnelrunner in The 1992 Season - My Ratings
I know no one ever plays this game, but I wrote this up for the hell of it. Maybe over time someone else will find it useful.

This is my evaluations and overall ratings of all the teams in the 1992 season.

I ranked all the teams of their divisions in the order I believe they are as best to worst.

    AFC

    EAST

Buffalo Bills - Obviously the best all around team since this was their Super Bowl era.

Offense - One of the best as you would guess. Injuries tend to plague them, and they have turnover problems from time to time.

Defense - Average at best. They are not much of a challenge if you're playing against them, secondary gives up lots of deep balls, however the front line is useful if you're using them.

Miami Dolphins - Dolphins won the division over Buffalo this year, and in some ways they are similar as opposites in weaknesses and strengths.

Offense - The 3rd best passing offense period. Marino is well rounded in this season, and his receivers are strong. Main weakness is the running game, which will hold up during the season against weaker teams, but overall it's mediocre at best.

Defense - Great front line, easy to rack up sacks, and their secondary comes up big in times when using the Dime formation but in other times, I find them to be an above average unit but not one I'd want to pick.

New York Jets - One of the better dark horses in this game surprisingly. I really like the Jets in this game despite they only won 4 games.

Offense - Ken O'Brien must start over Nagle. As long as Nagle is starting, you will not get a challenge out of these guys period. O'Brien can really light bad defenses up with Burkett, and the running backs are decent. Baxter will often break huge runs and the backup McNiel outshines the main starter.

Defense - Average at best, if not below average. They perform well against bad offenses in particular and can be a pain to run on, but they cannot stop deep balls at all. The big play seems to be their death throes.

Indianapolis Colts - The most overrated team in the entire 1992 season. The Colts lucked into a 9-7 year despite getting shut out 3 times (including back to back shut outs) and having one of the worst offenses in the entire league. Their record is meaningless, as they are accurately a very bad team in this game.

Offense - Jeff George is very inaccurate in this game reflecting his 1992 season accordingly. The run game is very sloppy as Johnson is no where near explosive in this game as he was in TSB I (SNES) and he fumbles a lot. Their best wide receiver is Jesse Hester, and he's a backup behind Langhorne. That guy catches about anything, meanwhile everyone else drops easy passes or gets picked off easily. You're going to be turning the ball over a lot no matter how well you make George throw.

Defense - These guys can't stop a nose bleed. Bickett is your best chance of getting sacks, other than that, you have to be on the ball against the run to stop it. it's possible and the secondary can stop some big passes, but they have a hard time tackling. Often times they will play well but then get gashed to the bone late in the game when you need those stops. Playing against them is easy to rack up 40 points on.

How in the hell the Colts went 9-7 that year is beyond me, cause looking at the stats they were terrible, and this game is accurate with it. They are a bottom 4 horrible team. In all my games of playing with them, they are the hardest to win with. As an opponent they can give you fits from time to time, but they are so bad, they always end up shooting themselves in the foot with bad interceptions or horrible defensive play. How they won 9 games in 1992 is over my head, cause they normally go 3-13 in this game.

New England Patriots - They went 2-14 and are pretty bad in this game. Zolak is a backup to Millen and from time to time they can be a challenge. In a way, they are somewhat better than the Colts in the way they give you a challenge.

Offense - Zolak is better than Millen at QB, but overall this offense is very wobbly. Irving Fryar is the best player and you better really air it out to him. Run game is average at best but lots better than the Colts.

Defense - An all around joke. From time to time they can give you real fits if you're playing against the COM, and Vincent Brown can rack up sacks in this game. He's easily the best player on defense.

    CENTRAL

Houston Oilers - The best AFC team period in this roster. I have went a full 19-0 with them on this year and they have the best balanced offense and defense, though in times they have big flaws.

Offense - The best offense in the game for passing with a top 3 QB. The Oilers are well rounded, Givens is probably the best receiver, though Duncan is very useful as well. Lorenzo White is the RB again and he's very useful though not a team you can run heavily with. Sometimes there can be big problems with protecting Moon.

Defense - I love the Oilers defense. They can get picks rarely, and their front line will rack up sacks, but from time to time they break down and will give up huge plays. Playing against them can be tricky, though they can be quite average in times.

I hold firm in my opinion that they are the best AFC team period.

Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers won the division in 1992 and were very good in the regular season.

Offense - As you all know, O'Donnell is not the best QB ever but there are plenty of weapons on this team. Barry Foster is a total beast, and if he gets hurt (always does) Thompson can come in as a big help. Dwight Stone is one of the best receivers in the entire game, and he can come in handy a lot.

Defense - One of the best AFC defenses all around. Great front and the secondary is a big headache. Playing against these guys they can be a major pain, forcing big passes on them is a big no no. Rod Woodson and Greg Lloyd play great in the secondary.

Playing against Pittsburgh can be a big challenge, they will down right destroy the big QB's like Moon and Favre, but their offense is their biggest weakness as an opponent.

Cleveland Browns - Average is as average goes, but they have Bernie Kosar!

Offense - Kosar is not a bad QB at all. I find him to be accurate most the time, though the run is much more efficient. Unlike TSB I (SNES) Eric Metcalf is a monster in this game. he still fumbles, but he can break off some big runs. Kevin Mack is an underrated gem too. Mark Bavaro at TE is the best receiver on the offense, as in times these guys can be pretty average.

Defense - The definition of average. The secondary is great in times for interceptions, but they have a very hard time stopping the run and big plays.

I've won a Super Bowl with these guys against Dallas, so they are not all that bad, but they aren't great either.

Cincinnati Bengals - The last hoorah of a once great team. The Bengals are average too and in some ways much better than the Browns especially on offense.

Offense - Boomer at QB is a hundred times better than David Klinger. Harold Green is a great running back, and the receivers are OK, Carl Pickens is a big winner.

Defense - Average and some what below average. I'd take the Browns defense over them. With the Nickel, they can shut down average defenses but against the juggernauts, they are useless, especially against guys like Moon.

    WEST

San Diego Chargers - Behold the team that started 0-4 and finished 11-5. The Chargers are well oiled machine in this game despite all their glaring flaws.

Offense - Marrion Butts is the juice of this offense. They are a run first team, though Humphries is much better here than he was in TSB I (SNES). Anthony Miller is an underrated gem too.

Defense - Chargers have the best defense in the whole AFC, period. Junior Seals is a beast, and Leslie O'Neal is great for sacks. The best thing about these guys is they can shut almost anybody down. Playing against them can be tough too, as they are one of the COM's favorite teams.

Kansas City Chiefs - A step down from their normal Tecmo counterparts but still a decent team.

Offense - This is the same offense in the other games, very pass heavy with a strong run. Only this time Krieg is not as good as Montana and the run game is weak since they were injured most of the season. Okoye is the better RB on this team but running it with them is much more difficult than other games. If you are passing it a lot, you better be ready to play strong defense cause these guys are not a powerhouse team on offense.

Defense - Slightly better than what was on TSB I (SNES) and TSB III. Derrick Thomas is still a beast to be reckoned with and using Niel Smith is worth using every down. The secondary still racks up interceptions, Charles Mincy is the bomb.

You could probably argue that the Chiefs are better than the Chargers but I take SD over them simply because the offense is better to run with.

Oakland Raiders - My favorite West team and I believe they are underrated in this game.

Offense - The Raiders have the best offense of the AFC West. Bold statement but I think I'm right. Schroder is a bad QB, and Marinovich isn't much better, but Tim Brown, Willie Gault, and Ethan Horton are great for catching balls. Nick Bell is an excellent running back and they are stacked to run the ball either way. They might not have a great QB, but they have all the right guns for an offense.

Defense - Slightly above average. I tend to have a lot of success with the Raiders in this game, they accumulate turnovers, sacks, but in random games they get gashed bad against mediocre offenses that they shouldn't have problems with. Their main weakness is stopping the run, but they manage very well to shut down big passing games.

Denver Broncos - Average team riddled with injuries. 8-8 is accurate.

Offense - Elway is a step down in this game. Maybe it's the higher difficulty's fault I always end up throwing a lot of picks with him, and he never will finish the season not injured. Mark Jackson and Shannon Sharpe (for some reason he's a backup) are the best receivers. Everyone else is average and the run game can be very shaky though Greg Lewis can perform well.

Defense - I hate this defense. If you're playing against them, they are a breeze to rack up stats on. Playing with them, you better know how to stop the run on contact and fast, because they miss tackles and get torn to pieces quite easily.

Seattle Seahawks - Great defense, bad offense.

Offense - Do I even have to say it? This is the worst offense in the entire game. Oh and there is no Mcgwire for laughs. Chris Warren is a damn good RB but he gets injured very often.

Defense - Strange enough the Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the entire game. Avoiding their disastourous offense, it's easy to use these guys to rack up sacks and stop a running game. Secondary can be shaky at times but overall, it's shocking how great their defense can be. Even playing against the Seahawks, their defense has given me a lot of bad games in the past.

    NFC

    EAST

Dallas Cowboys - The best team in the whole game and rightfully so in 1992.

Offense - Quite possibly the best balanced offense of the game (or S.F.). Aikman is very accurate, almost too accurate for his own good. You'll have an easy time throwing it, and he's very hard to intercept. Though Emmitt Smith is the main gun of the offense. He'll get injured as he always does and you'll have to throw it but that's not a problem. Michael Irvin is slower than Alvin Harper but his hands catch most passes, and Jay Novacek is a damn good Tight End.

Defense - One of the best defenses in the entire game, and the 2nd best defense of the NFC. Dallas can shut down just about any team, and playing against them they are a challenge in times, yet they fold badly when you have a good passing game going. Ken Norton and Charles Haley are great for pressure, and the secondary in times gets slashed, though they get picks often.

I might be overrating the Cowboys a bit, but their offense is ridiculous in this game. No matter how many times you break up Aikman's passes, you'll rarely ever intercept him, and their defense seems to do a great job stopping the run even though they are easy to throw on.

Philadelphia Eagles - Live and die on QB Eagles

Offense - As I said it, the Eagles are all about Cunnigham. Once he's injured, they are done. Walker is a good running back from time to time, and the offense is loaded with great receivers. Synder, Sikahema, and Barnett are great.

Defense - Reggie White is a big plus, he will rack up a lot of sacks, and they can manage well against the run, though break down against good guys like Emmitt Smith. The secondary is slightly above average. They perform well in times but will get destroyed by Aikman, Young, and the other big name QB's.

New York Giants - An underrated quality team despite a losing season.

Offense - Either QB is cool with this team. Simms and Hosteler aren't the fate of the team. They have 3 great RB's and then 1 good one. You can easily run the ball down anyone's throat, choose your weapon. Dave Meggett is tough to bring down but gets injured. Baker is a good receiver, and Mark Ingram is on here but more than anything, you're going to want to run the ball.

Defense - Average at best. They are the leftovers of that 1990 squad. Lawrence Taylor (56) is great to use in getting sacked but he'll get injured. The secondary is OK. If you're playing against them, they are a very bad defense and can be blown out easily.

Washington Redskins - Super Bowl hang over.

Offense - These Redskins are no where near as good as they were in previous games. Rypien is a pain to play with, often throwing many bad interceptions. The receivers are still good but the playbook is a big problem, and Earnest Byner is easily the most reliable person on offense.

Defense - These guys are no good on defense. I take that back, the front line is decent, but that secondary is total garbage. Get ready to have a lot of frustrating times against them, especially vs the Eagles and Cowboys. Even when you play against the Skins, their defense is a total joke as an opponent.

I take the Giants over the Redskins very simply, it's because their offense is a hundred times better, and the defense isn't near as bad.

    Phoenix Cardinals - Junk

Offense - Chandler is one of the worst QB's in the game. The playbook kills this team worse than anything, but the receivers are decent. Reeves catches many passes in double coverage, and Randall Hill is worth using. The run game is pretty shaky mostly cause there is not any great running plays.

Defense - Garbage, just garbage. I don't have to go through this.

    CENTRAL

Minnesota Vikings - Could have been the dark horse of the NFC

Offense - Gannon is not the best QB but he's worth the struggles here. The Carter receivers are great, but more than anything you're going to be pounding the ball with Terry Allen. Even playing against the Vikings, they can be somewhat frustrating.

Defense - The best defense of the NFC Central, period. John Randle and Chris Doleman are monsters on defense. You will be using these guys if you want sacks, and playing against them, they are great at sacking your quarterback. McMillian and Parker are not worth getting picked off by in the secondary, and playing with Minnesota these guys come in handy.

I take the Vikings over the Pack here cause their defense is pretty damn good, much better than the Pack's as you will see.

Green Bay Packers - Slightly above average team that is overrated

Offense - Brett Favre is here, that's all. The Packers offense is quite overrated in this game. Favre has a huge arm and can throw deep balls, but Sharpe is the only reliable receiver. The run game is terrible, and the only other decent receiver is Brooks, and he fumbles a lot. Jackie Harris is worth the TE position but this offense is seriously lacking the talent they have on later Tecmo games.

Defense - This defense is down right terrible. No Reggie White means absolutely zero pressure. Many times they are easy to destroy as an opponent, and playing with them is frustrating to stop decent offenses.

    Chicago Bears - Below average

Offense - Harbaugh is awful in this game. I don't know what is wrong with the Bears offense, they are terrible and very easy to destroy. Harbaugh is an interception machine.

Defense - This defense is surprisingly pretty decent. They have their moments, they aren't always great but from time to time they can pick up and be very tough. Woolford is one of the best defensive backs in the entire game and he will be giving you fits from time to time.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Make it stop already!

Offense - Vinny Testeverde is not very reliable in this game. He already suffers from a bad o-line, and he has bad turnover issues with fumbles and very horrible interceptions. DeBerg is a lot better but the offense is still severely lacking. Reggie Cobb is a great RB, but the receivers are no where near as reliable as I found them to be in TSB I (SNES). Oddly, the Bucs can give you quite some fits playing against them, that is until Vinny throws a pick.

Defense - Broderick Thomas is one of my favorite Tecmo players, and he is very handy on this team along with Dotson. Those two guys are your entire defense, good luck.

Detroit Lions - The most overrated team in this game, period.

Offense - This is a great lineup. That is until you realize how bad they really are. Barry Sanders is as good as always but man does he have some fumble issues when you play as him, and/or gets injured often. Rodney Peete is very bad in this game, but the receivers are decent. The o-line is bad, and you will be getting sacked a lot.

Defense - These guys need a lot of help. The secondary can get interceptions from time to time and I find the Linebackers to be useful but they have a hard time stopping the run, and that's what kills them the most.

    WEST

San Francisco 49ers - #2 to the champions.

Offense - You know the drill. Young is at his absolute best in this game, and the offense is all around damn good. Running and passing is very easy with these guys, it's the Niners of course. As an opponent, the main thing that works against them is a great linebacker core. The Saints are typically the main team that can beat them into the ground.

Defense - These guys have some problems on defense. Playing with them, they look great and get stats, but have a bad habit of giving up huge plays. Playing against them, I find them to be above average and can be aggravating but not much. This is their main weakness and if you can stop the offense and ride their defense down the field, they are beatable.

New Orleans Saints - Best defense in the game, average offense.

Offense - If you rearrange the starting lineup, they aren't that bad. Craig Heyward is a very good running back that can mow his way through guys. He should be a starter, while Hilliard should be on the backup (he was a special player back in the day). Herbert is average, while Buck is down right horrible. Eric Martin is a decent receiver.

Defense - The best defense in the entire game, bar none. The Saints linebacker core is down right terrifying, and add Wayne Martin to the mix, and they are even better. Typically you can shut out most teams with these guys. Playing against them is down right frustrating as hell cause they can plow through any o-line in the game.

If it weren't for their mediocre offense, the Saints would be a top 3 team.

    Atlanta Falcons - Impressive...most impressive

Offense - Atlanta's offense is well rounded for racking up passing stats. Miller is a good QB, and the receivers are damn good. Andre Rison is the most reliable. The run game is very bad though thanks to the playbook and shaky o-line. So you pay the price for the stats.

Defense - Not a bad unit when it comes to pressure and a good line, but their secondary is terrible. Playing against them, they tend to have success shutting down the pass, but that's a different story when you play as them.

L.A. Rams - Same story, different game.

Offense - Everett is one of the better QB's in the game that don't get a lot of credit. Anderson and Ellard are still the hands of the team. Gary is not a bad running back, overall this offense is decent.

Defense - Average at best. They aren't always terrible, but they aren't as reliable as they should be to make the Rams a Super Bowl team.

This game can be a major pain in the ass.

Look at the Lions for example.

I'm playing 3 year mode, and currently in 1992 season.

Lions, week 1 in Chicago. Barry Sanders fumbles twice. One huge fumble at 2 yardline. Bears get it back and drive all the way to score, 17-14 with 1:32 to go. Rodney Peete does just enough to get them in the field goal range, like 40 yardline with 4 seconds remaining. Hanson misses the kick.

    17-14, loss

Lions at Redskins, week 3. This is even worse because Rypien got his skull cracked in week 1 against the Cowboys. So he's still out injured. perfect chance for the Lions to win a game here after a heart breaker in Chicago and an epic ass beating that the Vikings gave them.

The Lions defense was absolute shit in this game. They made back up QB Redskins (I think Cary Conklin) look far better than Rypien looks. Redskins got up 10-0 early on. Barry Sanders fumbled twice and they scored both times off that. I scored a TD, Peete to Moore. In this game I lose Brett Perriman and Willie Green. In the 4th quarter the Skins went up 23-10. Down by 13, Peete turns into Dan Marino and it's like a machine I went 6/6 for 80 yards on the next drive, getting the TD to Moore.  After a marvelous defensive stop, it is 2:23 left on the clock and I have the chance to go down the field and score a TD and win it. I got the ball at the 50 yardline after 2 Peete passes got a first down to Mike Farr. Hand off to Barry Sanders, he picks up 13 yards, and FUMBLE Redskins recover it and they return it all the way for the game winning touchdown. After all that great play in the 4th quarter with Peete, Barry Sanders fumbled the 3rd time in this game and sealed it for me.

Why does Barry Sanders fumble so much? He fumbled 3 times in that game, ultimately losing it for me. I have yet to play a game with the Lions where Barry Sanders does not fumble.

More difficulty came with the Packers. The 1992 Packers have NO defense whatsoever. No Reggie White, so that means no defense. They have a few good guys in the secondary and that's it. I had an incredible game where I was down 17-0 at half time against Tampa Bay. Second Half, Favre throws a bomb to Sharpe, goes 75 yards for a TD. 2nd drive, Favre to Sharpe again, 56 yards this time, 14-17. Then the running game started to pick up, and I did a play action pass to Beach, 21-17. i won the game 31-17, and it was hard to believe I was down so much early on.

Oh did I mention that the Bengals offense is down right terrible? You do have Boomer at QB and he's far worse than the QB he is for the Jets in TSB 1 for SNES. I played 3 games with the Bengals, and Boomer has went 1 TD and 5 INT so far, despite the 3-0 start. Their offense is mostly a joke but that defense I've managed to run 2 shut outs so far, and they have a great secondary.

This game is more fun for it's difficulty, really you can never be too sure when it comes to it. I had a game with the Rams against the Pats where I lost to New England at the last second with Tony Zendjas worthless ass missing an easy 33 yard FG that would have put me up 33-31.

DeBerg got a reaction from Tunnelrunner in AI 2 Point Attempts
Seems the A.I. is obsessed with going for 2 points when they score a TD if you are up by more than 7 points. If you start the game up 10-0, every time the A.I. scores, he's going to go for 2 unless he's getting a TD for the lead.

This rule also applies outside of the 7+ point lead. If you lead for that lone TD for longer than 1 quarter, when the computer scores, they will go for two points so randomly, rather than tying the game.

I've been toying with this for a while and this is the conclusion I come up with it.

Even if it's a tight game and you lead 7-0 for longer than 1 quarter, it don't matter when the COM scores, he's still going for two.

It's like they made the computer to be more aggressive in this game though the logic can be stupid if the two pointer fails (as it normally does) but from time to time you have some of those weird games that Tecmo always has, and the computer can beat the shit out of you starting with a come back from 7 points down, getting the two point conversion 8-7, and since the defenses in this game get turnovers more often, you can easily screw up and get your ass beat by the computer.

If only the computer always played better offense in this game (it is better on offense compared to older games, but still not a threat unless you're playing against a top tier offense like SF, Houston, or Miami), it would be like playing a juiced rom.

Despite the flaws to this game, I find the 2 point attempts to be hilarious.

DeBerg got a reaction from Tunnelrunner in Finally started a season with TSB II...
It's hard to run it, I had so many fumbles with Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith of all RB's but the challenging the factor is the reason it's my favorite of the 3 SNES versions.

I'll never forget my 1992 season. I was up 10-0 against the Bears with the Lions. Barry Sanders fumbled 4 TIMES in that game, and I lost 35-17. 2 of them ran back for TD's, then a pick 6, it was endless madness.

Amazing....I can't express all my feelings in one post about this game. I am extremely lucky the man that runs the Used game store in my town had the patience on me to pay bills so I could have extra money to splurge on this, 15 dollars was a good deal for this game.

This game is fucking hard, I must say. Just playing on the rom before i brought it home, I felt some of that difficulty. I played 3 games all with different teams (Saints, Chiefs, 49ers) and I was feeling where all 3 of those teams had a weakness instantly. This is a good thing cause Tecmo deserves to make it hard on us who play it constantly. The harder the better, bring it on Dallas...

I started off playing the 1992 season, in a 3 year mode. I haven't had as much time as I wanted to, but in 3 weeks I've come to some quick first impressions.

Cincinnati makes me want to scream, especially at the wide receivers! 1 loss thanks to a game winning drop, and 3 picks from Boomer where 2 of them were catchable. Poor Boomer, reminds me of TSB III with the Jets, cause he has barely any help at all.

The Browns suck. They are scrubbier than I expected. Michael Jackson in only 3 games has caught 3 passes for 43 yards. His back up (McCardell) has 4 catches for 102 yards and a Touchdown...That's something to think about. This is the first time I've ever had a game where my Cleveland offense was shut down to just scoring 7 points (against Miami) in a hopeless loss where they only gained 130 yards total.

Tampa Bay is scrubby too, but it don't help with Vinny Testeverde who flat out sucks so bad, that when De Berg comes into the picture, people actually catch the ball and Mark Carrier is a beast if you use him correctly, and constantly alternate him so he don't get hurt.

Chiefs run game is quite disappointing but a real challenge to play with, since Krieg loves his picks more than QB Chiefs did. Their defense is one of the best. Niel Smith and Derrick Thomas are as deadly as they ever were, and even more roleplayers that help them get pressure get involved.

The Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl! Um...that's if I can't stop it, which I will be trying everything to do. They are probably the best team in the entire game. A top 5 offense, top 3 defense...and on top of that, never having to rely on just one thing(run or pass) to move the ball while their defense is a turnover and sack machine.

Saints defense is the best in the game so far, and my best performances, already 2 shut outs. but their offense totally is crap. Bobby Hebert has little to no help when he's accurate, and the run game tends to really fall hard hoping Hilliard don't fumble, or if Heyward isn't going to go down hard.

Dolphins are a really good team...I think you could make a case that they are equal with Buffalo almost all the way down the board. It's nice seeing Clayton, and even his back up is not that bad.

Houston's offense, is a top 3, as I expected. Moon easily one of the most accurate bomb throwers in this particular season. Defense is good too but lacking. luckily their good defensive line works, and the back field gets picks every now and then. Is this the best team in the AFC? So far I think so.

Buffalo reeks depression. Their offense can tear it up, we know that. But that defense, you have to really use Bruce Smith for everything. To push a hole and help the other guy get pressure, to sack, and to pat down the ball, cause these cornerbacks get absolutely shredded to pieces if you aren't pass rushing and give the guy enough time to make a play. Good offense yes, but I'm really not all that impressed, like I am with Houston who looks to be the ceonteder of the AFC.

Pittsburgh  . That defense is simply out standing. 4 turnover shut out against the Jets It will be interesting to see how high up they rank at the end of the year, I already predict at the least, they will be in the top 10. Of course Niel O'Donnell is average at best, but not a surprise. More a surprise how good Dwight Stone and Eric Green are. Even their RBs are good, this is a damn good team. I think they are better than the actual Super Bowl team on TSB III.

Green Bay - the one team I actually have had the most fun with so far. Their defense don't have Reggie White yet, but still interesting. One game against Minnesota, they intercepted the game winning pass in the back of the endzone as time expired, that was incredible. Favre is not in his full form on this game, which is good, cause it's challenging. I still can average 200-300 yards a game with him. I think that's what makes it so fun, the offense and defense is good but lack luster. I will start out 10-0 and give up 2 TDs and then the game is on. Despite ranking Number 1 overall on defense, I can only count 3 total turnovers with them.

This game is awesome! I haven't even played with the Eagles yet, or seen how many bombs I can throw to defensive backs with Jeff George, this game sure is a blast!

DeBerg got a reaction from Green Majik in Tipped Ball INT
This is the most hilarious crap ever.

Season with the Pack Attack, Brett Favre goes down in the 2nd week. I have tortured with Majikowski for 4 weeks straight and go 1-3 in the process.

It's not even that he is not accurate in this game (6 INT vs Pittsburgh and still only lost by a fieldgoal) but however the tipped balls that get intercepted is just phenomenal.

I almost went 0-4 without Brett Favre, and my one win? Atlanta, after a miraculous come from behind 20 points to win. Trailing 27-7, I stormed a comeback and won 42-37. That was by far my hardest fought game of Tecmo Bowl ever and the only reason I was behind 20 points was 2 interceptions that were tipped balls and returned for touchdowns. Defense could not stop Atlanta until late in the 3rd quarter when I got extremely lucky with Miller throwing an interception. GB's defense is garbage without Reggie White (1992 season) so I easily gave up 450 yards in that game, so it's not like the tipped balls themselves were the only thing causing the bleeding.

After storming this come back I won the game with an 80 yard bomb in the closing 6 seconds to Sterling Sharpe. It was one of the few times I had a hail mary win the game for me, but after storming that come back it meant more to me than any other game.

Another thing about tipped ball interceptions is that it don't seen you can tip them in the secondary and catch them. I have tipped passes down the side for WR's time and time again and no one ever catches them. A tipped ball by a linebacker is 50/50 going to be tipped in their hands. An all out blitz sack and you try to throw it before taking the sack, it is almost always intercepted in this game. I've come to the point I'll just take the sack and risk a fumble instead of throwing a pass to avoid the sack and getting it picked off and returned for a TD. However what's worse than this is the guy in the coverage defending you, the linebacker in front of you that pats the ball in the air and then catches it. The one guy that gets victimized the most by this is Jim Everett with all those playaction passes where he's rolling to the right or left. This has happened to me countless times using Hostler and Simms playing with the Giants too.

I don't know how many times I've done this to playing the more average to worse QB's in this game. I did it Rypien twice in one game. Chris Chandler threw 5 picks against me with the Saints, and 3 of them were tipped balls to Sam Mills and Pat Swilling. Rarely ever have it happen to the top tier QB's in the game (Marino, Young, Moon, Aikman, etc)

DeBerg got a reaction from Green Majik in AI 2 Point Attempts

DeBerg got a reaction from Shlabotnik in Reset cartridge madness
I haven't been able to much SNES in the past 8 or 9 months for a lot of personal reasons. I have been so busy this past year working and getting back into music and setting up a recording station. Though lately I've had off time so I started playing the SNES again.

I started a season playing every game, as I enjoy to do, when the cartridge accidentally got pushed in with the power on causing a reset, nice as you please.

Since this reset happened, the behavoir of the teams in the new season seems to be identical to how they were behaving during week 8 when the reset happened.

This is what happened in my first season before the reset

Raiders - Started 5-0 and were kicking total ass until they ran into the Chargers and got destroyed 41-17. (7-1)

This Raiders team was winning nail biter games, which was crazy as hell. The COM was nearly beating me every week. Then I played them with the Chargers and destroyed them, and the next week they were back to struggling like an average team.

Falcons - Started 0-4, and then won 4 in a row in blow outs. Defense was playing lights out all of a sudden. (4-4)

The Falcons are a great team in this game if you can handle their pass happy offense, and it was firing on all cylinders.

Chiefs - Started out average at 2-3, but won the next few games, including a blowout 41-10 over Green Bay. (5-3)

The Chiefs struggled on offense and was barely winning games until this blow out over Green Bay and then they started to look hot.

Jets - Started out 2-2 and broke into a streak of 3 game wins with a high flying offense. (5-2)

The Jets were topping an average of 300-400 yards a game before the cartridge reset.

Now this is what happened with these teams AFTER the cartridge reset.

(I am at week 5 currently)

Raiders - Again winning nail biters, yet was destroyed by the Chiefs (45-14), they are playing like an average team. (3-2)

I played against the Raiders as I did the other season when the Browns game came up, and the last season where they started 5-0, they injured Kosar and won 31-21. This time they won 28-21 on a nail biter after stopping the Browns from scoring on the final drive. Defense was all over the place.

The defense played hot as the COM until the Chiefs game where they got dismantled by 40 points, now they're like an average team again.

Falcons - This Falcons team started out juiced for the season playing hot like they did in my failed season. (1-4)

The first two games (Detroit and New Orleans) went into Overtime where they lost by field goals. Their defense limited Barry Sanders and limited the Saints.

Vs San Fran, they got a 13 point lead that they melted away to lose by 1 point, then vs Pittsburgh they lost by a field goal after trailing 24-0 and rallying to score 21 points in the fourth quarter. I have never seen the Falcons play like this where they can score and rack up big plays on constantly.

Vs Chicago, they win in a blow out 38-7 (I like Atlanta this season, going to play out them and see what happens in the playoffs)

Chiefs - Blow out team just as they were last season, (4-1)

Minus a loss to Houston where I chose Moon. Trailing 28-3, they came back and made it closer at 35-24, where they got hot after a turnover.

This Chiefs team can't stop scoring. Barry Word runs all over the place just like he did over Green Bay in my failed season, and the defense gets turnovers often, just as they were doing before the season reset. Vs Denver, they won 50-12 in a game where Elway threw 3 interceptions, and Bernstine fumbled twice, all of which lead to scores (offense barely mustered 250 yards in this game)

Jets - Holy batman, this team can score some points. (4-1)

The Jets offense is a scoring machine this season. Boomer Esiason is the QB that got me to 300 yards passing in 2 quarters (the quickest). These guys cannot be stopped. Outside the season opener loss to Denver (28-30, they were hard to stop then) they are extreme.

Before the season reset, they were a high scoring offense that racked up yards, and points even with backup players. Nagle came in after Boomer went down and threw 300 yards as the COM vs me when I was the Giants. Alson in the last season; they managed to keep up with Buffalo and force OT, in the game where Boomer got hurt in the first quarter and Nagle played like a God.

This season though, playing with them, I just don't understand how they play so hot. Even if I put in all backups, the backups catch everything, and Pat Chaffey runs well on handoffs.

They had a three game win streak where Boomer threw for 300+, no interceptions and scoring 40 points in each game (Vs the Dolphins, they won 47-9, vs NE they won 45-7, and vs PHILLY they won 48-41)

All four of these teams picked up their behavoir they were undergoing when the season reset.

I could make the same observation with a few other teams, but I haven't paid attention to them like I have these.

Cartridge resets half way into season, then start a new season, and these teams are flying high. It's crazy! Never seen the Jets and Falcons play so tough. It's like they are the 49ers and Bills this season!

Thought we could make a thread compiling all the glitches we've discovered from this game. This place is the only thing on the internet I know of that has experience and lists these glitches. I think we can find enough glitches in this game to give some of those well known glitch fest games a run for the money.

DeBerg got a reaction from Knobbe in The 1992 Season - My Ratings

It has the 1992, 93, and 94 seasons.

I believe you choose under schedule using the same menu that you might use to reset a season.

The 93 season doesn't have Dan Marino on the Dolphins.  If you remember, that's the year he tore his ACL.

I respect your opinion DeBerg, but I bet if you look at sheer ATT numbers for RBs across the league, the Packers will have the worst stable of running backs.  Without looking, I am boldly claiming they have the worst run game in the entirety of TSB III.  And if that is too strong, I will say at the most they are not above the bottom five.

The defense speaks for itself:  Reggie White is a beast as everyone knows, but again, I bet the Packer LBs are Top 5 worst in the league, if not the worst.  Maybe someone like the Saints has worse LBs.  Butler is a poor man's Atwater as DF mentioned.  The secondary overall is so weak.  The DEN offense, with just Miller alone, would pick that secondary apart in a hurry.

well, this is fun anyway....nice to revisit TSB three, OG

Hey Kieth I wanted to give you a huge thanks for all of these.

They are easy to use to be drawn out on graph paper, and that can be used for crocheting patterns in blankets or with knitting or stiching arts/crafts.

This has just helped me greatly in creating a blueprint for someone's wife to make a blanket for her husband who's a Rams fan.

    Big thanks man!
