Never even heard of this game but it looks AWESOME. Graphically, it also looks and moves quite a bit like Super Bases Loaded 2. I always thought Sports Talk looked like Super Baseball Sim...

For anyone else reading...we're getting the BS1 project back up and running, but I still want to pursue this as well!

Long time no talk! I sent you an e-mail and PM about it a while back. Have you expanded league play or what? Feel free to PM, e-mail, whatever.

There are some small differences...6 pitchers and 4 PH instead of 5/5, which I like way better. The graphics are a little cleaner overall. Teams are more even and have cities/nicknames, more (palette swap) stadiums, proper bunting, view/upgrade team in game, more/better scoreboard stuff after home runs, more stances, quick defensive shifts. Stuff like that. A big reason why I play BSII is because it has Game Genie codes. (I'm sure they're possible in BS1, but I haven't figured out how) I like the one strike for an out code...makes games go faster and makes hitting more challenging. BSII got a bad rap at the time because you couldn't rename players and teams, but now it's obviously a piece of cake. There are some deeper speculative things (I've played these games A LOT!) that I've definitely noticed more so in BS2 including: - Players performing differently depending on where you place them in the order - I *believe* luck affects a player being in the right place to catch a batted ball - And most relevant to this thread: BSII is 256k PRG/128k CHR and uses the MMC3 (4) mapper. BS1 is 128/128 MMC 1 (1).

I'm a pixel artist and novice rom hacker working on a Baseball Stars II (NES) project. I'm searching for a collaborator, mainly to help with expanding the rom to incorporate more teams into league play and stat extraction. As far as I can tell, expansion does seem possible (but not possible for the original Baseball Stars). I have several other ideas that may or may not be possible. Looking for someone who is technically inclined and familiar with the game. Please contact me for full details. Perhaps I can lend my creativity to one of your projects as well. Thanks for reading!

Does anyone have experience with adding additional teams to league play? It would be great to have 8, 10, or more teams at once...
-
Is anyone else able to verify that changing Pitcher handedness works in BSII? I change left ( to right (0) and it makes no difference....
-
Another thought- How feasible is it to have a league with more than six teams and the ability to control every team in the game as a created team? I realize it's probably really difficult...

I would love to put together ratings. I can to put together two sets: "regular" Baseball Stars style that favors offense and "realistic" ratings that will give computer teams close to real life stats over a full season. Please let me know what you have done as far as rosters, stances, handedness, face numbers, etc. I can take on any/all of that. I can start now and finalize it as the remaining big free agents sign (unless you have rosters set). It would be great to do a "Baseball Stars 2012" type of thing. Do you still have my e-mail address? If not, please PM me and let me know what I can do to make this happen.

Is this project still active? So curious to see what you did!

This is amazing! I'd love to see a 28-30 team version!

Baseball Stars Stat Sheet -- for use with state saves
fast replied to Randy Moss's topic in Other Games
I realize that this thread is ancient, but is anybody using this? I cannot- for the life of me figure out the right bytes to copy. The address in the spreadsheet doesn't correspond to anything in my save state. Also, a REAL shot in the dark- does anybody know of a Baseball Stars 2 stat extractor? Thanks for reading!
