  1. I asked before last years tourney if you could run a "Stunt" with the Defensive Ends, where you go around the DT and in between the Guard and Center. I was told that was not permitted by one of the Holz Brothers so i'm assuming nothing has changed this year.
  2. Im all for making the entry fee more, that way with the new payment system the field might get limited a bit. And don't bother with a T-shirts. Last year by the time we got there they were all out of our size. I ended up with two XL t-shirts, mine and my brothers who didn't want it and eventually they will end up at good will. Im thinking 60 bucks minimum.
  3. I would like to Try and Get an Iowa team together but Summer is a hard for me to pull off as a Country Club Chef any chance of having another tourney with this format closer to the heart of the tecmo season?
  4. I was happy to see so many good players make the trip from Cedar Rapids, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Win. Jake and Endo from Waverly brought an excitement to the place that every tecmo tourney needs. I feel for Steve from Cedar Rapids, playing with the Niners up by 7 with a couple of ticks left in the third quarter and holds Luke (Oilers) to a 4th and 10 on the Oilers own 20. Luke thinks about going for it for what seemed like a full minute then finally decides to punt, fielded by Rathman who is tied up and then coughs it up on a dive tackle, Oilers scoop and score to tie it up, a monumental momentum shift in the championship, rough stuff, Luke eventually pulls out the victory, congrats to him. All in all a great tourney thanks to Jake and Nick for putting it on and opening it to the public, Hope to see as many people that can make it back to Spicolies in early Feb. for the Bars sponsored 3rd annual tourney. Ill talk to Rob this week and try and get some info up as soon as I can.
  5. My younger brother plays in a Foo Fighters tribute band that is pretty rocking called FoolsGold, They are playing at the Hub on Main St. in Cedar Falls that night around 9 I belive. The band that follows them plays more recent pop songs but puts a rock twist on them, bonues about that is they usualy get a bunch of young college girls to go to their shows that are easy on the eyes.
  6. Actually that not the Contra code, Its up up down down left right left right B A select start. And as far as Ints, besides the Jump picks it seems completely random to me. It seems like user picks are easier if you get there right as the ball is getting there but that probably just superstition, just like every other opinion on the subject.
  7. It was my 31st birthday, I'm a bills fan and Javis Byrd had just picked off the Cardinals in OT, son of a tecmo legend who's number happens to be 31, on my 31st b-day so tecmo gods were up to something. My brother and I decided to play bills cardinals later that day because he is not the best player and it was a good handicap game. So I go to kick a field goal down 7 early in the fourth quarter. I kick it and Darrel Talley comes in and blocks it. The ball bounces once and the screen flashes recovery Bruce Smith. The player marker 1 is over Bruce's head, and my brother has control of him, although Del Greco was near the ball during recovery. Bruce heads one way and I try to chase him until I notice the screen was following me. So I turn around confused because Bruce is now out of the screen, I juke my way to the Bills end zone and nothing happens for a second. After 5 seconds or so the game says Safety Cardinals and I cut it to 5, Bills have to kick off, I go and score a touchdown to go up by 2 and a last second heave by QB bills is no good, Cardinals win. We decided Birthday magic was in full effect and Tecmo Gods knew it.
  8. Learn which bench players are better than actual starters.
  9. If anyone in the Waterloo-Cedarfalls area wants to get some tecmo practice in before the tourney, we have been bringing a system to Toads on main street in Cedarfalls the last two sunday nights for late night tecmo sessions. Let me know if you would be interested in coming out, generally it my brothers and I playing pool, darts and tecmo and we get tons of attention from the ladies when they see our tecmo skills.
  10. I was curious about the rules, mainly the wide outs having running plays in the single back offenses like atlanta, washington, san diego, houston, arizona?
  11. Hey Beef Juice, This is Adam from Cedar Falls. I helped put together the tournament that Spicolies has on the Saturday of the superbowl. I met you at last years madison tourney and we talked about your tournament and opening it up for anyone to play. I was interested in helping anyway I could. At least in getting the word out to the group of guys that come out for the other tourney and see if we could get up to 50 guys or so. Please email me if you would at [email protected] Thanks

  13. That is ture, but im trying to be humble, cause when i played in madison last year and lincoln this year, chet whipped me by two scores or more both tourneys. So i need to step my game up by march.
  14. Thanks to all that showed up and participated at Spicolies 2nd annual Tecmo Super Bowl Tourney and Chili cook off.
