  1. I've kinda evolved, for lack of a better term, from a player who strictly went for wins to a player that likes to see his boys be at or near the top of the stat category(ies). One of the things I do is stay dominant in one area at a time, so if it's sacks, kill it on sacks; int's, kill it on int's; TD's (regardless of pass, run, catch), kill it in TD's. I never seem to be able to lead all categories but I'm pretty close (usually).
  2. I got into a game real quick last night and it was pretty intense! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all of those teams. Good job to all who put this ROM together.
  3. Definitely going to be checking this one out. Looking forward to this!
  4. 100% agree. Their run game and D are great...QB not so much but you can make that work. I'd be up for a game too. I'm not sure what I'll need besides the ROM. I'm on AIM as kidquik81...though I'm hardly ever on there anymore.

    TB to TSB

That's great...what do you mean by that?

    TB League?

I've been out of this forum for a while and TecmoTurd sent me a PM to say what's up...been busy with job stuff and an 8-9 month old. So I've been out of the game/forum for quite some time now. I was recently given a top loader with three games. I have to go out and purchase some things (e.g., another game pad, TB, TSB, BNB) to get myself back to old form. I wish there were Funcolands still around; I'll have to go on eBay to get my games. I almost got BNB last night but I was outbid at the last second... Anyways, as far as the TB league, has that gotten off of the ground? Let me know, I may want to get in on this...
  7. I know what it is, steroids; you inject your thumb. You're such a cheater... I almost like to see other's accomplishments, it makes me realize that I still have a lot of work to do!
  8. I don't know how you do it but man, hats off. How many hours a week do you spend playing this game? Or is that the wrong question; maybe it's, how many years have you been playing TSB?
  9. I can't get above 50 yards rushing...I'm so lame! I was thinking the same thing; though I resent the girl tapping remark, I, in no-way, condone the use of drag queens to play TSB.
  10. Buck, I'm guessing he knows about the vanilla but was trying your juiced version. There is a mammoth gap between the two. I didn't realize there was a difference in "playability" between the two, must be my inability to read Buck, you said you could score 70 points in the loaded rom (see below)...how do you do it? You must tap like drag-queen, eh? viewtopic.php?f=32&t=12886&p=103354#p103354 I can score 70 points on it.
  11. I actually meant Nestopia; I had Nesticle (and another tool) on my computer when I was trying to do some edits to Bad News Baseball and see how it turned out. So Nestopia is the way to go, duly noted. I will reach out to him, thanks for the heads up...
  12. How do you set that up? Is that with the Nesticle contraption? I'm so out of date on this stuff...I just play on my Wii and I don't think there's a way to do that online.
  13. Dude, thanks for the document...I quickly glanced over it at work. Can we try to set something up one of these days to play online? I'd like to see you in action (and probably get man handled) if that's cool. Yes, we have a few rules. 1. No throwing (or running) when your play gets picked. Take your lumps. If your pass play gets picked, try and get back to the line of scrimmage, Same with run plays. on rare occasion a fast RB can get around the corner and go for a long gain on a play-pick. We feel the defense should not get punished for a good call, ending with crazy results. 2. Only the Linebacker position is used for trying to block field goal attempts. This rule basically allows for FGs to play a big role in the game. Of course it also means that NY is the only team not giving any up. 3. Anything goes on extra point attempts. Use any defender you want. blocking extra points is some of the wildcard effect. 4. No QB running for a 1st or TD when its 4th down. Borrowing from the Canadians, we've added in this little twist. This brings the computer issued pass coverage to the forefront. 5. No exploiting the pass glitches. the curl route is virtually un-intercept-able. If my opponent is covering a guy about to curl, I wont throw there. If the opponent is elsewhere, then I will throw to him. Take the ball and run with the QB if the opponent is working on a curling receiver. Now slants we dont have as much of a problem with, because we're pretty good at picking those off. The Canadians don't allow any QB running. When we meet them at the international competition each year we agreed to only get 1 per quarter. sorta meeting in the middle. Virtually no QB running really makes Tecmo a completely different game. We learned this the hard way the 1st time around.
  14. For real dude, I am hard pressed to get very far on the run...but the computer, now that's a whole other story!
  15. Ouch! Talk about a left hook from the champ! Seriously though, I know I have learning to do. I used to play this game on my GameBoy (recently found the GameBoy and the game but the GameBoy is looking too hot) and as a kid I never really put much thought into who gets blocked by whom. I always played with Chicago and NY (to me, two of the best teams) and I never really paid too much attention into the nuances you're describing. I am interested in using your guidance from here on out though... As far as man v. man rules, what do you hold to? Did you have different rules for season games vs. "pre-season," if you will? I saw a website that said that if you scramble with the QB that's a big no no. Thanks mate!
