  1. Sweet, that's an easy to understand baseline to start getting to understand. As far as the DE/NT having to drop into coverage versus grappling; if someone is running the R&S Flare from the 1st pass play are you allowed to charge in the opening if you were using Bruce Smith for example? I noticed this a couple weeks ago that the offensive line totally abandones that spot and it leaves the lane wide open, it's been a curiosity of mine since then. I've no illusions of being the goat at TSB but it's waaaay too fun to not wanna get in on these tournaments so thank you again for the info and the links!! I'm going to try and coordinate leave for that period, about how long do the tourney's take? Week? Couple of days? Anyways I'm super excited now lol, thanks again
  2. My thought process on that one was adjusting changing his blocking area on runs that go to the top and still having a tight end who could catch. Though not so important for him as a runner when I think about it. Ty for the reply sir!!
  3. I read in another thread, or maybe it was the other boards, that putting WR in the RB slots is allowed as long as the WR doesn't take any handoff/pitches. I think it went as far as saying that no player with a jersey number in the 80's can be used on running plays except on WR reverse types. Is the common protocol for this also in effect for TE's? The specific instance I'm thinking of is using the Rams; bench Gary and put Holohan at RB with McGee in the TE spot. Is Holohan ineligible for use on run plays?
  4. I've seen a handful of cooky injury screens where a light colored player is dark on the injury screen or vice-versa but never the wrong player outright lol.
  5. Thank you sir. A couple more questions about the tournament stuff; it's the 1991 NES version of the game right? I know that's probably as noob-ish of question as there is but I'm woefully ignorant. Does anyone have a link to the typical tournament rules? I've read bits and pieces of acceptable play behavior vs unacceptable but never seen it all in one spot. Any info / redirect much appreciated.
  6. I searched on that board for tournament info but I couldn't find much. Granted I'm not too search savvy or familiar with that board. Any chance someone could post a link to upcoming tournament info from their board? (or other places too).
  7. Favorites for no reason other than I like 'em; Orson Mobely, Jim Jenson, David Fulcher, Louis Oliver, Tommy Agee, and Dino Hacket.
  8. Thinking only of TSB (I'm not too familiar with the other versions) and not really basing it on accomplishments (not sure how I'd do that) but on what they mean to their team, in my estimation it goes as follows: 1. David Fulcher 2. Lawrence Taylor 3. Jerry Rice 4. Rod Woodson 5. Bo Jackson 6. Dan Marino
  9. I know it's kinda dated but I live near Santa Maria Ca and love to play TSB on the ole NES. PM me or whatever I'm happy to play almost anytime
  10. I'm trying to manipulate a 2007 ROM to simulate reasonably close to the way the 2007 season went. No matter how much I seem to beef up the patriots, cowboys, colts, etc none of them ever win their division and statistically they blow when I check the league leaders etc. I even got ridiculous and set every player on the colts to 100's in every stat, offense and defense, and they still finished 8-8 on the sim. I also tried adjusting the sim offense and defense ratings in the editor and adjusting individual player stats on sim rush sim pass etc...nothing worked in over 100 sims and whats weirder is that the dolphins usually won their division!!! I'm using the TSBToolSupreme to edit a 2007 ROM I got from tecmobuilders. I'm guessing theirs something very obvious that I'm missing because even the 49ers didn't have the kind of lopsided attribute advantages in the 91 version but they are usually a 12-15 game winner whne I sim that one. Any redirect appreciated if this is posted elsewhere and of course any inputs also appreciated, Thanks!
  11. I don't know how I missed this post before but I just saw this tonight!! WOW!!! I only dreamed of this being possible lol. I tried searching but came up nuts when trying to find other posts of a similar subject but I'm wondering who else does this (besides the website listed). If I had a custom ROM for example that I wanted loaded. Any answer or redirect much appreciated!!
  12. I think the difference has to be 50 or greater to make instant popcorn or flatten 'em. But I'm still getting my feet wet so I could be way off. As far as lines go I like KC's line or Miami's as far as best aggregate hit power goes. Which may tie in to why AppolloSpeed was having greater successes with KC and moderate successes with Miami in his other thread (prepping for 49ers / Oilers). Hopefully this wasn't too off-topic.
  13. What a great bunch of knowledge, thanks everyone for all the suggestions and tips! So I tried the Oilers and moved Hill to RB with the R&S playbook. WOW! The first game was a complete defensive sellout and offensive explosion. I couldn't shut him down the way I was doing with the Bears but I was matching him score for score and when it went to OT we were at 35 even!!! That was crazy! Then the second game he put Rice at RB after seeing the success I had with Hill. I never did manage to shut him down so I'm obviously not grasping what Richard Johnson should be doing: every time he ran Johnson would get knocked off when I would tie up his runner and Johnson didn't have enough hit power to flatten Rice. I've yet to figure him out but I'm picking up on some of the nuances his game has and am just loving it!!! Who woulda thought an 8-bit dinosaur would do that lol. Anyway I appreciate all the infos Gonna look into playing this online since playing the computer on the NES gets kinda predictable quick. Thanks again
  14. I'm going to try the run and shoot heavy setup this afternoon. Wish me luck! To the poster who suggested the Oilers and Richard Johnson I'm curious, how do you free him up on run plays? Almost everytime I've used a cornerback I get grappled or have strong pursuit from the offense when it is run plays. I'm usually picking pass plays to defend almost always too since I'm ok with giving up a 5 or 10 yd run compared to 30+ yd passes. Anyway thank you folks for all the suggestions, I can't wait to see f these help!!
