  1. Yeah that was a great time. Thanks to the Holzy brothers for running it. I've never done anything like that before but will again. Strong competition all the way around. Damn Jerry Ball, damn him!!!
  2. Haddix Hands down, though QB Eagles is a close second. Haddix gets the nod though, owns Randall in the red zone.
  3. I'm pretty new to all this rom editing. What exactly am I downloading and why do I want to do this?
  4. Hell yeah I live in Madison. I'm kind of new to the boards but I've been playing for years. Let me know if there is a spot available. I'll definately make 1 or 2 of those dates available. [email protected]
  5. Thank you. A little bit over my head but I'm learning. Definately cool taking the editor through the original rom, it was like video game archeology for me.
  6. I'm enjoying tinkering with this rom, what am I missing out on? What are set commands?
  7. Thanks man, you're a big help, BAD_AL too for that matter. That couldn't have been easier, and now I have both modes saved seperately. What a cool site!
  8. Thanks. Yeah I'm looking for the nes one. Is it really that simple? Does it matter where in the file I paste it, just in any open area where there is a line break?
  9. I'm just learning about all this now, could you point me in the right direction? Where in the editor are these commands and what do they need to be set as they were in the original rom?
  10. This an absolutely amazing editor, and the rom is beyond what I was looking for when I originally came here. Is it possible to make it so the rom can switched back and forth between juiced mode, depending if you want to play like the original format or up the difficulty level, in game? btw, the in-game playbook editor is amazing, and can't say enough about the rom editor
  11. I really think Randall and Haddix are the two best players in the game, and Haddix is the only one I've found who can consistenly counter Randall. The Eagle have a great O but they're a horrible redzone team, and they have a horrible kicker to boot. I know there are more complete teams, but those two are 1-2 on my list. The Bucs have a workable running game and Carrier is a leaping maniac, way underrated. And Haddix can stop the run too.
  12. I had a really crappy nintendo for many years and lost many could be perfect seasons to those damned lines. It did add an extra element to it though when the screen got all crappy, and when I played with my friends it was like snow coming over soldier field. Then I gave some dude $20 bucks and he went through and replaced some connector inside and personally took apart and cleaned all my games internally. Works like brand new now. Easily the best 20 bucks I spent.
  13. I haven't actually played online with it, so it's just lagging. It's not so much a lag as it is inconsistent, like sometimes on D I won't even be able to get off the left end. I'll be pressing A or B and the QB can sometimes get the ball off before I can cycle through my D. It just feels so much different than my nes, and my computer's fairly new in the last year and a half. Does the game play exactly the same for you as on the nes?
  14. I've done it with NY, CHI, PHI and NE, but that was with Grogan benched all year. Oddly my best team is the Bucs but I always lose to either NY in week 13 or CHI in week 16, or one of those two in the playoffs. Randy Grimes is blown up on every play at that point in the season and it's virtually impossible to run the ball.
  15. I was just recently awakened to the online tecmo world and am having issues with controllers. Do the controllers respond the same way in the rom as they do on an nes? I almost never break momentum on the nes but quite often using the controller I'm using, and the A and B buttons both respond rather hesitantly. I had a logitech but I returned it, it was crap. Then I bought a ps2-usb converter, but there still is a slight lag. Someone responded to an earlier posting I made about a retro nes controller made for the computer. I'm thinking about getting it, but don't feel like throwing another $25 away if it's going to respond the same. How do the controllers compare for other out there to the original nes version? Is it exact, or slightly different?
  16. Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to try buying one of these ps2 controller USB convertors. Maybe I'm just not used to playing on a computer without a nintendo controller. Though, does it play exactly for you as it does for the original NES. I can deal with some of the framing issues (I'm used to much worse before I had my NES overhauled), but the button delay definately throws off my timing. Any advice for getting optimal performance out of TSB online?
  17. Hi I'm new here as well. First post as a matter of fact, and now that I've found such a place exists, I'm sure I'll be here often. Anyways, I bought a logitech and there is a delay from when I press the buttons, it throws off all my timing. It's the same layout as a PS controller2. Is it the controller, or is something off with my system? There's no delay when I use the keyboard and I'm currnetly running Nester on XP. I've also noticed the frames are somewhat shaky and haven't figured out to fix that. Anyone have any suggestions?
