  1. Hi Davefmurray, I tried the 2016 ROM with FCEX, Jnes, Nestopia, Nesticle and VirtuaNES. With all of these I received a Yellow Flag error. Sometimes immediately upon openning the ROM other times after the Start screen had loaded. I thought maybe this was a feature built into the ROM to ensure people were using an emulator (brudtopia) that wouldn't allow cheating but that was just a guess. I'm now able to play the ROM with brudtopia after restoring it from quarantine. I'm optimistic the emulator file is not removed again by Norton. Thanks for your suggestions, I'm not sure why those emulators haven't worked for me. Jer
  2. Thanks for your replies guys. I downloaded the Brudtopia emulator again and again it was removed by Norton. I haven't had a problem with the ROM except that it only seems to play on the Brudtopia emulator. With any other emulator I get the yellow flag (I hope that makes sense to you). I managed to un-quarantine the file for now but I'm not confident it will not be removed again by Norton before long. Thanks again for your assistance and for all your hard work on the development of the ROMs. Jer
  3. Hello, I've been a member since 2007 or 2008 but I haven't been active here for the last 7 years or so. I know very little about computers but from what I learned here I was able to make a ROM (purely player and schedule editing) that I think was pretty popular. I kept the proportion of player's abilities from the original Tecmo Super Bowl to try and create a similar feel to the original. I received some nice feedback and I hope people enjoyed it. Since then I've forgotten pretty much everything I had learned..... but I don't mind learning again. My question regards the brudtopia emulator. My Norton Anti virus program keeps removing it. I was able to mark it as "trusted" but that only worked for a couple of days.... when I went to look for it just now I see it's been removed again. I've enjoyed playing the new 2016 ROM but it won't play for me on any other emulator (I get a yellow flag) and the brudtopia emulator only lasted a couple of days and now I can't seem to stop Norton from removing it. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I hope I posed this question in the correct area. Thank you very much, Jer
  4. Hi everyone, thanks for all the positive feedback I really appreciate it, I hope you've had fun with the rom this season. Tom Tupa, your stamp of approval is greatly appreciated and means a lot to me. Anyway, sorry I haven't made the update I was planning to earlier this year, things were really busy and as the season moved along I thought there would be less and less interest an update (maybe there is). I came back to the board just this week anxious to download the Repository ROM and see how it turned out. As far as I can tell, there has been no repository release, I can help with rosters, and ratings, if anyone is particularly interested in getting help with that please contact me. I'll try to get a complete update for this ROM before too long. Thanks again to everyone who has provided help and everyone who expressed appreciation for this ROM. jer
  5. Oops, about the two Hesters. I didn't know how to get around the problem of his tremendous KR ability and average WR ability. Thus 2 Hesters exist. One intended as a WR "Hester" and one for use as a kick returner "HeSSter"... the extra "s" is for super speed jer
  6. Hi, thanks very much for all the kind words, I really appreciate it. I'm glad some people like my ROM. I am making an update to address some of the problems pointed out here. This ROM was made with game play as the number one concern, I realized some of the sim problems but didn't really want to go changing all the players sim data. Overall the sim as far as a team's win/loss data is concerned plays really well in my opinion. When you play a against a team the players play appropriately (ie. WR make a reasonable porportion of receptions etc.) so I just don't find it worth the time to adjust every individual players sim numbers re: receptions. It was not pointed out that DBs also have a disporportionate number of sacks.... again I can live with that... it doesn't show up in the gameplay when you face a comp opponent. I would love to get some input on the Sim team preference though i.e. I have adjusted the sim data so that the cards should be more of a passing team yet they play like a heavy rushing team. I would love to hear any ideas. Thanks agian for the great replies, 95% of the work on this was player ratings with the original nes version in mind. jer
  7. Hi, Here is a ROM for the upcoming 2008-09 season (training camp ready...Kevin Jones on the Bears). Hopefully you will enjoy this ROM and if not, it should at least help get a jump start on making your rosters for the coming season. Modifications are sure to be necessary after training camp/preseason etc. The schedule is accurate, Home and Away (not that that matters much in tecmo). I was really trying to capture the feel of the original Tecmo Superbowl for the nes, so I based all my player rankings on the distribution the original game had for each attribute. For example take safeties (FS and SS together) and the attribute HP; in the original 1991 game, 1.8% of safeties had HP=75, 5.4% had HP=69, 0% had HP=63, 21.4% had a HP=56, 19.6% had HP=50, 30.4% had HP=44, 14.3% had HP=38, 7.1% had HP=31. I looked at this as a guide for every position and every attribute, usually my ROM is within 2% of what the original distribution was. To decide which players fell into what category I relied greatly on the Madden 08-09 rankings that where leaked on the web to help rank everybody, then used personal knowledge of player attributes to come up with something that made sense (eg fullbacks with a 95 ranking don't have a MS of 56.... in fact I grouped FB and HB seperately). I also redid all the playbooks to try and reflect teams with a feature back versus runningback by committee. I hope you enjoy this ROM, thanks very much to everyone who has helped with info and tools to make it happen (ie cxrom, bruddog, jstout and others, you've done amazing work). I have one problem with the ROM I would love to get some help with.... I made the preference of the Cardinals heavy pass (because no matter how much they say they're going to run the ball, they always end up passing) but they end up playing like a team that has a heavy preference for the run??? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tecmo Super Bowl 2008-09.zip
  8. I'd vote in tournament style. Mel Gray from the lions would have to be in there, great kick returns.
  9. Hi. I hope this is posted in the right place. I have no computer programming skills at all, but thanks to many of you I've been able to contribute (hopefully) something here. I've added an appropriate 2008-09 schedule of opponents to v105 rom. While the official NFL schedule won't be released for a month or so, the opponents each team will face in the comming season has already been established. So if you want the fun of playing with your favourite team against all the teams they will face this year (home and away accurate) hopefully you will download this modified ROM. You can just take the schedule from it if you want using the TSBtoolsupreme. I've made most of the recent roster changes, and revised many of the players attributes. I compared each position to the original 1991 game and tried to get a similar distribution of abilities among players. I think it plays well. I hope some of you find this ROM entertaining even if you just take the schedule from it. I took way longer than I would have imagined to put it together. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the production of the 32 team ROM (cxrom et al.) and the TSBtool supreme (BAD_AL). It's fantastic what you have created. jer 2008-09 opponents.zip
  10. Hi everyone, just a note to say I figured out the problem. I read the hex editor guides and was able to implement what jstout had suggested earlier in this thread. Thanks jstout, and everyone else who has put this together. I hope to play online sometime (if I can figure that out next). Thanks again, Jer P.S. am I using the most recent version of the rom v105? Thanks
  11. Hi. I've just posted a couple of times before, I hope this appears in the right place. I didn't even know what an emulator was until Sept 07. At that time I was very excited to find that Tecmo Bowl, a game I'd loved for years was available in an updated version. I played Drummer4Gods 2007-08 Rom and really enjoyed it, even though I'm a jets fan and there's not much to get excited about on the roster. I recently found cxrom's 32 team Rom and I'm blown away. Not knowing anything about computer programming I can only guess how much work has gone into that project, I really appreciate what you've accomplished with it. I'm equally thankful for the TSBtoolsupreme that I believe was created by BAD_AL. It's perfect for a user like me who would have no other way of keeping up with player moves. The main point of this post (although there is a question coming later) is to say how much I enjoy what you've put together (sorry I'm sure there are people who've really helped a lot that I have not credited. I’m new here but I’m sure you all know who’s contributed what. From what I’ve read it seems bruddog, jstout, and Mr.Beef have helped a lot, again I'm sorry for those I've missed. My question has to do with kick and punt returns. Leon Washington is set as the jets KR/PR, when I increased his abilities they showed up on running/passing plays, but seemed to have no influence on the return game. I'm using cxrom's 32 team rom v105. I have read a bit about the KR/PR concerns on this message board so forgive me if the answer is obvious and I haven't understood. I don't yet know what a "hack" or "patch" is or how to write code. I am in the middle of reading a hex editing tutorial on a site called "campaigncreations" (I think I found a link to it somewhere on here) so I now understand what the hexidecimal system is and how to convert number formats but I don't know much more than that now. I've downloaded a hex editor, something called hoxpose and FCE UltraXD but I don't know how to use any of them yet. Anyway, sorry for the super long post. Again, congrats to all who've helped put this together (to Matt Knobbe to for the board) it's fantastic what you've done. If anyone can offer some help re: my KR/PR problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much,
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, While I don't know much about computers, I do know football, so hopefully I can provide something useful to you in the future. Thanks again, really looking forward to the final version release!
  13. I Think you've done some great work drummer4god. I stumbled upon this board when I was looking for a tecmo pic to use as the logo for my fantasy team. I had no idea people were playing nintendo on computers. Only in the last week have I been introduced to the world of emulators. I can't wait for your final version. I've been playing your version that included the jets (as the jets) and think it's fantastic. Thanks for all your hard work! This is my first time posting on any board so if this ends up in the wrong place, or I've made some other Rookie mistake, forgive me.
