  1. This is awesome! Major League was one of my favorite movies as a kid- and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed playing RBI baseball. Can't wait to crush some HRs with Pedro Cerrano later on. "Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum....is very bad."
  2. All good. As a Pats fan I'm used to the suspense.
  3. What are you thinking in terms of location/venue on this? The snow is putting a damper on pretty much everything around here, but I'm going to be flat out with work until May anyways.... then my weekends will open back up. There's a good chance I could convince 4 or 5 other guys to show up (if needed). The talent would be below average - guys who play TSB periodically, but won't be taking home any trophies. Unfortunately no equipment. Unless people want to play on a laptop using the keyboard. Ha!
  4. Well I figured that since I work in finance....in Boston, that the Boston banker was appropriate. But anyways, I just tried as the farmer and I'm 2 for 2, though much more difficult. Arrived with 1 person in poor health and my wagon. Ha!
  5. Yeah, that ending was very anticlimactic. Too bad I picked Banker from Boston (ironic that was a choice). I was just over 1000 pts and didn't qualify for the top 10. I don't remember ever playing this game, but it was a nice change of pace. Made it to Oregon on my first try, but I lost Belichick (measels), IncrEdelman and Malcolm B along the way. Poor Malcolm had a broken leg for thousands of miles. Despite having a broken arm, GRONK survived.
  6. Wow - no kidding, eh?! Same teams, same score, somewhat similar ending..... just reversed! Good find.
  7. I'm 20 minutes outside of Boston. My free time is limited these days, but if there was ever a tourney in Boston, I would do everything possible to make it, pending the date.
  8. I think the graphics are pretty tight. And Im diggin' the avatar! As for what you are trying to accomplish: no clue.
  9. Same Halifax from nhl94.com I assume? Huge hockey fan and long time lurker over at nhl94.com. Great site...I like what you guys do over there - and looking forward to the documentary. Welcome.
  10. You're thinking of the actor. Aka Mitch Martin. Aka Frank Vitchard. Seattle TE has the dual L.
  11. Since I don't play online, I've always wondered where I fell on this. 15 tries. Nine times at 43. Four at 42. One 44 and one 40.
  12. Only my 2nd favorite game all time. NES ICE HOCKEY! Not a huge deal. It's pretty ridiculous to want to watch a sim of this game, especially with newer versions of NHL94 floating around.... I've just always wanted to. And I recently figured out how to hack this game and replace the olympic teams with NHL teams.
  13. So definitely a pain in the ass. OK, thanks. That's what I was thinking.
  14. Wasn't sure if this question is better suited for the Other Games forum or the Hacking forum - or probably another message board altogether. If you have a NES sports game that has 1P vs. COM and 1P vs 2P options - how complicated would it be to change one of those options to COM vs. COM? Often times before a "real" game, I'm a junkie for simming the game and having those little 8-bit warriors battle it out. Would it be a matter of changing just a few bytes in hex ...or (and forgive me for getting technical here) changing a bunch of other crap around? I assume it's the latter, in which case I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure it out. Just curious at this point.
  15. Finally had a chance to play through a season. I became skeptical as I plowed through the first 6 games putting up 50+ .....then it got difficult. The team playbooks make this game - since it's difficult to blow up the play at the line, especially against the zone read teams. You really need to come up with a different defensive strategy every game. And the juice level towards the end of the season is perfect. Anyways, I finished 13-3 losing to only the Bears (Chicago destroyed me 38-21), Chargers (by 1 point, 24-23) and Bills (31-21, couldn't overcome 4 fumbles). Towards the end of the season, I was only winning games by 7-10 points. Playoffs, blew through the Steelers (20-14), Jets (28-17) and Broncos (28-24). Super Bowl, I had Seattle pinned on their own 2, up 24-21 with 2-3 minutes left when Lynch proceeded to popcorn me at the line, then 2 more defenders, then drag a defender 5 yards before tossing him off as well....98 yards for the score. Down 28-24 with 1:30 left I drove downfield to have Vereen fumble on the 5 yard line with 6 seconds left. Damn you, Pete Carroll.
  16. Man...us Pats fans get blamed for everything. First the tuck rule, then spygate, now cheating Tecmo games (that involve Miami and Cleveland). We just....can't....win. lol
  17. TM - one additional change you can make to the ROM to make playing vs. the COM tougher without juicing it, is to alter the "take sack" byte in each passing play. This would make the COM controlled QB fire the ball out more often when pressured (the Brett Favre hack). It actually works pretty well with the throw to open receiver hack. To do this, you would go to each pass play in hex and find the C1. The 3rd byte after the C1 controlls the take a sack percentage (the first two bytes being start throw and end throw). I went through and did this....think I changed all the bytes to E-something (E6 maybe?) which would be about a 10% chance of taking a sack. Though I think you already somewhat accomplished this by lining the LBs up a few yards back. Just a thought....
  18. Got through a season with the Jags. Playoffs tomorrow. (Started the season 1-3, then was 4-4, ended on a 7-1 run).
  19. Dude, I was thinking the same thing. Two of the most knowledgeable guys on this site, ever, are just noticing that?! Great info, though! +1s all around.
  20. Yeah, any questions just ask. The spreadsheet itself was created by another TB.org member, but I've added some heavy customization over the past few years. There are no formulas for any of the sim values. The separate tab for the defense sim is only to catch any errors.
  21. Tecmonster - this ROM is tight! It plays very similar to the ROMs I used to keep with A LOT of the same ideas. Totally dig the game manual and playbook organization. I don't think I'll have the time to throw my own together this year, so I'll definitely be playing this ROM. Also, in response to this thread... http://tecmobowl.org/topic/11106-tsb-editor-tsbtool-supreme-season-generator/page-9 Check out the attached file. It helps importing rosters into TSB Tool (*And I have already loaded the data from YOUR ROM into it). There's a tab for every player position so you can sort and compare ratings easily. A few things to note: - The plays are off by a digit. The playbook program you are using labels plays 0-7, while TSB Tool labels 1-8 (example if your Run plays are 0254, in TSB Tool they are 1365). - There's tabs for playbooks as well as team sim values and team formations. - Check out the "Name Length" column - it will notify you if a players name is too long and will be cut off. - Make sure to follow the 'sorting' instructions or the teams will get jumbled. Hope it helps... TSBTool Import Spreadsheet.xlsx
  22. Please tell me you have been using Excel for your ROMs! I'm going to post something in your ROM thread that should help you going forward.
  23. I remember doing this a few years ago to understand how the team and player sim values worked with each other - think it was 10+ seasons of data. Unfortunately, I didn't document the results and can't seem to find the spreadsheet. If I do, I'll definitely post it. In addition to team and player sim values... number of run plays were a significant factor for RBs (Bo only has 2) and I would assume pass play selection plays a role for receptions, given the QB priority in each play. If you test this, I recommend using FCEUX on turbo speed. Seasons can be simmed in a matter of minutes. Or just hold the TAB key for about 90 seconds and you're done. EDIT: it takes 20 seconds per season using FCEUX on turbo.
