  1. It's been a while. Anyone care to play a pickup game online? Unfortunately single player is too easy in TB. Wish there was a way to make it harder. tjansx on aolim.
  2. In the 32-team version, the schedule is set vs. being random and gets harder as the weeks go on...
  3. I have my formula built-in to my RBI rater (pulls the stats automatically for me from BR, pitch speeds from pitch f/x, etc) and then spits out base ratings for me, so I wouldn't use the one-off calculator, but I will likely be using the updated formula. I do support other stats if they make sense, I actually use FIP for my pitching ratings. As for SLG, that's not a bad idea though HR works pretty well as a linear proportion. SLG would work but that stat doesn't map exactly to batting average so the line would have to be adjusted.
  4. For the 1908 ROM, how did you turn it B&W? Too bad the umps and crowd are still in color. Otherwise, very cool...
  5. Lol, 3709 in-game power. Put him on the bench and his first AB would be 3773. HA!
  6. Right, in that case, I wouldn't probably give him a low-AB player power who doesn't do much, or, more likely because he's only got 1 AB he probably wouldn't make the 16 man roster I did have a thing I was working on that used a sort of "confidence" rating where it would knock more off your projected HRs the further away from 600 you were. For instance: a 500 AB guy who hit 30 HR is projected to hit 36 over 600 AB. Pretty reasonable projection. a guy who hit 3 HR in 20 AB projects at 90 HR, and your "error" factor is pretty high, so somehow I'd devise a formula that took the distance between actual AB and 600 and determine an error factor, so maybe the guy's power is rated for say 12 HR, reducing the fluke factor. In my tabletop sports games I play, I wouldn't do the fudge factor thing because you let the ratings work as is and you control them via usage. So, if he only played 1 AB, you wouldn't be allowed to play that guy regularly so even though he's got Andre Dawson power ratings, he'd only be able to use it for 1-2 AB. Doesn't quite work that well with RBI because, well, it's a video game!
  7. Hey man, after being the solo patron saint of RBI for a long time, I finally have someone else to talk to about it Speed ratings start with a formula using SB and Triples, but I then modify high OBP low speed guys so that they can get on base more often. I try to find a balance...
  8. Precisely. I already go through the ratings after the fact and make sure things are inline with the original ratings (my speed formula sometimes makes guys stupid fast and need to be lowered a little). So, it wouldn't be much more work to make sure there weren't any 1300 power guys or anything like that...
  9. I'm debating on going to a prorated system next year for bench players...not sure if I want to do that yet. My ROMs already play pretty damn great... Dude, where were you years ago? I could have used a partner early on to work through this stuff with someone. I spent many years getting things to play nice.
  10. Maybe some day I'll get a chance to utilize this. So many projects. So little time. Thanks jstout...
  11. Pretty similar to mine. I bet our seed numbers are just slightly different...
  12. I compared your formulas to mine, and we're pretty close! I actually like your power numbers a little better as they trend a little higher: Jose Abreu Me: 13, 909 You: 11, 923 Jonathan Lucroy Me: 15, 792 You: 15, 809 Bryce Harper Me: 20, 792 You: 22, 809 Nori Aoki: Me: 18, 731 You: 19, 750
  13. Glad you like it Bob, hope you get some enjoyment out of it...
  14. After some long hours, the 2015 ROM is ready for its first release. We'll go through about a week or so of tweaking and updates based on any bugs people find and then release a final one after that. Enjoy! Juiced and normal versions available here: http://www.rbibaseball.us/
  15. Appreciate it. I have a scraper that pulls those and the pitch speed ranges for me. Last thing for me to do is make sure the lineups are up to date.
  16. Sorry if I hijacked the thread! Was just trying to share the love. It's RBI 1. http://rbibaseball.ushas last years version up while I finish this years.
  17. I love that rbi Is getting some love. Stay tuned as well, the annual 30-team ROM will be out soon!
  18. That seemed to work! Though, I can't get the powerpak to save the battery. I know I've gotten other games to work. I wonder this game being expanded is causing issues. I think Knobbe told me it was expanded to fit some of the hacks.
  19. Thanks! This should allow me to play single player tecmo once again.
  20. Also, is that only for the repo ROM? Or is this for all 32-team ROMs?
  21. Woops, you had my test value (x10) in there. Just to be clear for anyone following: Original hack by jstout: SET(0x028B3F, 0xa53dc98090034cc5974c1b80) Brud's updated hack (for 32-team REPO ROM only, I think) SET(0x28B3D, 0x9009A53DC98090034CC5974C1B80EA) where the red x80 = the value that determines if it's tough coverage or not (lower = tougher coverage more often). (any idea if removing the 4-3 hack is possible?)
  22. Slightly off-topic, how do you edit the game without TSBTool Supreme? Unless, the repo ROM has other stuff in it that's throwing it off and the coverage hack isn't causing the issue...
  23. I haven't gotten it to freeze on the emu. I haven't tried very long though. I'll try some more.
