  1. Just arrived in Wayne NJ from VA! Darn traffic made it over an 8 hour drive (normally 6 or so) Im at Mothers Ale House now (Friday) to take a look at the place and get some food. Havent had a whole lot of time to practice, but I don’t care! Playing in a tournament is on my bucket list!
  2. Team data yes, graphics no. TSBtool will let you change/merge teams in an excel like format Thanks for that. I tried to extract and it worked, but I extracted the whole file. How do I define the fact I want to extract just one team, then, how do I tell it to 'apply', but just to one area. I can't edit team names with this software, so I'm hex editing them in. Thanks again for your time.
  3. Thanks Knobbe. You're very helpful. What I think I'll do is build the 32 team "Best" team of each franchise first to get used to the 32 team system, then go back and redo the Champions Edition. There will have to be graphics changes to Champions, so I think I'll do the easier of the two first to get started. BTW, has anyone come out with a way to trade teams BETWEEN roms? I know you can trade players withing a rom with 2000, but if there was a way to trade entire teams, including custom helmet logos, end zones, etc.? If not, I'd like to pitch this idea under the builders section. It would be GREAT for those of us who want to keep the same teams and move them to updated roms that have enhanced features such as the 2 point conversion or weather, not to mention it would make my life easier updating a rom like champions edition when new Super Bowl champions are crowned.
  4. I've been playing with version 1.11 of the 32 team rom to get a feel for it and its features. Unfortunately, I experience problems with the rom. Sometimes the color turns green, I get, instead of a cutscene, the opening animation, during an extra point, it goes to my field goal kicker scoring a touchdown 3 times, then goes back to the game. Im using nestopia. Should I wait for fixes before I begin creating roms? Thanks.
  5. Oh, and with the 32 team rom, I don't see software that will let me edit their helmets (the only software I've found only works with the 28 team file). Where may I find a helmet and mini helmet editor, not to mention a way to edit the team names (I used emuware before but that only works with the 28 team rom as well.) Thanks!
  6. This is something I should know already, but do these roms currently exist....are there already 32 team roms of this nature that are good? If not and you create them, i'll make sure people care. Well, the Champions Edition does exist here, and somebody was making a similar rom of the "Best Season" and posted it. It wasn't bad, but what was posted was a work in progress.
  7. Wow, no interest? Shame. Oh well. Now I know not to waste my time.
  8. Would you suggest the 1965 Browns where Jim Brown was rushing for over 5 yards a carry, for example?
  9. HI all. A few years ago I created the TSB Champions Edition. It had 28 Super Bowl champions. I'd like to build TWO new roms, based on the existing 32 team rom. I'd like to do an updated version of the Champions Edition, with 32 teams instead of 28 and minor tweaks, as well as create a new 32 rom that has the single most successful team from each of the 32 franchises. I'd like to know as I start working on the roms if there is interest. If not, I'll stop wasting my time. Please let me know. Proposed teams for TSB Champions Edition III are: 1966 Packers 1968 Jets 1969 Chiefs 1970 Colts 1971 Cowboys 1972 Dolphins 1975 Steelers 1976 Raiders 1977 Cowboys 1978 Steelers 1982 Redskins 1983 Raiders 1984 49ers 1985 Bears 1986 Giants 1987 Redskins 1989 49ers 1991 Redskins 1992 Cowboys 1994 49ers 1996 Packers 1998 Broncos 1999 Rams 2000 Ravens 2002 Buccaneers 2004 Patriots 2005 Steelers 2006 Colts 2007 Giants 2008 Steelers 2009 Saints 2010 Packers Proposed teams for the Best of Franchise Rom are: NFC East 1992 Cowboys 1991 Redskins 1986 Giants 2004 Eagles NFC North 1985 Bears 1991 Lions 1996 Packers 1998 Vikings NFC South 2002 Buccaneers 1998 Falcons 2009 Saints 2003 Panthers NFC West 1989 49ers 2005 Seahawks 2008 Cardinals 1999 Rams AFC East 2007 Patriots 1968 Jets 1972 Dolphins 1990 Bills AFC North 1978 Steelers 2000 Ravens 1988 Bengals 1987 Browns AFC South 2006 Colts 1999 Jaguars 2009 Texans 1999 Titans AFC West 1976 Raiders 1969 Chiefs 1998 Broncos 2006 Chargers Please let me know what you think of the years of the teams selected.
  10. Hi all. I haven't been online here for a long time. I'm aware there is a 32 team rom, not to mention someone was able to make a 4-3 defense. My question is...is there a way to get a 32 team rom for editing where I can delegate if a team has a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense? Or is this something done out of an editing tool construted for a 32 team rom? Thanks in advance!
  11. Interesting concept. I'm at work and can't download it here. Are you able to mix teams (i.e. take a team from 1998 and play it against a team from 2001?)
  12. There are pictures online of Family Fun Football. Go here: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/sports/fami ... ow;thumb;1 Remember, this is what Tecmo Bowl Wii COULD have been.
  13. Bodom18 said: Ok, I've supplied and credited danny007 with the link about the situation, created a new thread, found here. http://www.tecmobowl.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=12215 This thread is for those who would be interested in the fact that Tecmo Bowl Wii is now Family Fun Football and Tecmo Bowl Wii is shelved. Happy now?
  14. Per this article supplied on another thread by danny007, I'd just like to note that the article states the Nintendo Wii version of the NEW Tecmo Bowl is being shelved, and will now become "Family Fun Football". http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/69586 ... -2010.html Also, danny007 notes the article says that next year, Tecmo Bowl will be available on XBox Live.
  15. Bodom18 said: Well, with that kind of response, would it be appropriate for me to make ANOTHER thread, just retitle it "No Tecmo Bowl Wii, it's changed to "Family Fun Football" and use the link from danny? Would that be more appropriate in your mind versus just making a note on this thread to those who aren't going to read the article but COULD find it to be a BIG DEAL that the game promoted on the Wii is about to become something else?
  16. If you read the article, it says that the new Tecmo Bowl for the Wii is put on hold indefinitely. They decided to scrap the existing working of the game for "Family Fun Football", or some name like that, to make a family oriented game for the Wii instead. Oh well...
  17. I'm not going to bother. All I've heard is how bad the game is. I'm not investing in a DS and the game to get frustrated and feel like I need to throw the DS against the wall. Oh well, I'll wait and see if they release a Wii version of the game that's actually good...
  18. Hi all. Sorry for the long post. I've created rosters in the past for various PC games that either didn't have actual NFL players, or for games that needed historic or modern day rosters. I've collected information every year on the NFL as a whole and have a tremendous amount of data. I have both modern day and historic data on almost every team, even pictures of players so that I can accurately depict race. What I'd like to do is create the following for the new Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the Nintendo DS and the Wii (when they come out). * 1991 rosters of the second Tecmo Bowl, "Super Tecmo Bowl" for the NES, and include all of the same players and ratings that came with the game, and then add the 1995 Panthers, 1995 Jaguars, 1996 Ravens, and 2002 Texans (the first year of each franchise) for a 32 team league. I would then add other actual players on all teams because of the 45 man rosters that come with the new games. Now you can use Bo Jackson, exactly the way you remember him in Super Tecmo Bowl! Now, if we're allowed to customize the size of the league, I would do just a 28 team league to emulate Super Tecmo Bowl on Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff, and abandon the 4 extra teams. * Current NFL season and rosters. * Super Bowl teams league(s), with historic teams. * All time great league(s), with at least one great team from every franchise. * Create future NFL seasons yearly to keep the game alive. Because I don't have a DS yet, and I'm getting a Wii very soon, I have no real experience with using either. Here are my questions: With the DS and/or Wii, is there a way to somehow export information onto a pc to more easily create rosters, then re-import them in? While I understand neither game is out yet, is this something that people have been able to do with other games? Would doing so for the future Tecmo Bowl (minus any ability that may come native to the game) be possible? If I started a web page and housed the team files there, can they be freely downloaded to the Wii and/or DS? Or is there some other way to mass distribute the files? With this question, if it isn't something that is easy for the average person to access, I might now persue this project at all. Thanks in advance.
  19. Wow, I've seen the thread here about your web site, I'm honored you included the rom!
  20. Thanks for the compliment on this version. I understand where you are coming from with the same team only a few years apart (i.e. 82, 87,91 Redskins). The problem with making a 28 team rom is...ok, which teams do you leave in, which teams do you leave out. Do I really want all three Patriots Super Bowl teams, or do I just want the best one that won the title? Hence, only one Patriots team from this era (same holds true for the 1990's Cowboys). However, when you get to the point of choosing these teams, there are gaps that need to be filled by other teams. So, in the case of the Redskins, I figured that I could get away with putting the three Super Bowl champions because they were still different 'eras' of sorts. Example, now you can play with either the Theismann/Riggins team, the Doug Williams team, or the Mark Rypian team. I do give the 1972 Dolphins respect. They ran the table. But I can't rate Bob Griese ala Dan Marino. Look at his stats from that year. Yes, he's a Hall of Famer, but this numbers don't show it that year. The two running backs, I agree with you. They are rated pretty well. As you said, they were 2 running backs with 1000 each. Ok, so the team has two great running backs. If one gets hurt, you have another great running back to replace him or carry the load. But that doesn't mean I rate them like, say, Terrell Davis, who was ONE running back that had 2000 yards in 1998...or Marshall Faulk, who had 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving in 1999. You can't tell me either one of those running backs compare to Faulk or Davis from those years. A lot of the rest of your comment has to do with what you said about the greatness of the 1972 Dolphins, being the only team to run the table, and how would other teams compare to them, especially if they lost their starting qb. Ok, all of this is true, but I am not going to make every player on that team have a 100 rating. I rated them for what they did in that given season. If you want to get specific about the 72 Dolphins, it wasn't until the end of the season (playoffs) that they played anybody that had a winning record at the given time of the matchup. Regular season records of their opponents: Jets 7-7 Colts 5-9 Bills 4-9-1 Patriots 3-11 Chiefs 8-6 Oilers 1-13 Vikings 7-7 Chargers 4-9-1 Cardinals 4-9-1 Giants 8-6 Only two teams ended up having winning records, and just barely at that. This was not a tough schedule. But mind you, to run the table, regardless of schedule, is impressive. Don Shula himself has stated he felt, along with a LOT of his players, the 1973 team was the better team. Look at their statistics and who they played, and it's believable. But because Miami had an undefeated team, that's what people remember. They tend to forget the 1973 team, a team that even those that played on it feels was a better team. But I know I would have had questions as to why I didn't included the undefeated team in the rom. Feel free to edit the 72 Dolphins to your liking, if you wish. I still think they are a good team in this rom.
  21. If someone created homemade rosters for the game, can one share it online for people to install in their nintendo ds? I have no idea, I don't own a DS, but would consider getting one because of TSBK.
  22. Oh, can someone tell me why some people prefer the 1987 Browns over the 1986 Browns?
  23. Right. I'm aware they lost, as did the 76 vikings, the 04 eagles, etc. I was putting into this rom the best single season team per franchise, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a team that went to a super bowl. Example: 2006 Chargers is a team I would include, even though the 94 team went to the Super Bowl. So, would you rather have the rom mentioned above, or, say, a rom with nothing but great teams that didn't make or win the Super Bowl? Example: Since you mention the 1998 Falcons, I could include the 1980 Falcons instead. So, which way would you want such a rom to be made?
  24. Here is which teams I would include in a rom for including great teams that never made it to a Super Bowl: NFC East 1991 Redskins 1992 Cowboys 1986 Giants 2004 Eagles NFC North 1985 Bears 1991 Lions 1976 Vikings 1966 Packers NFC South 2003 Panthers 1987 Saints 1998 Falcons 2002 Buccaneers NFC West 1989 49ers 1975 Cardinals 2005 Seahawks 1999 Rams AFC East 1972 Dolphins 2004 Patriots 1968 Jets 1990 Bills AFC North 1978 Steelers 1986 Browns 2000 Ravens 1988 Bengals AFC South 1999 Jaguars 2006 Colts 1993 Houston Oilers (YES, I said Oilers. Houston TEXANS best record is still below 500) 1999 Titans AFC West 1976 Raiders 1998 Broncos 1969 Chiefs 2006 Chargers What do you think?
