  1. What is TSB 42? I'm clearly not in the know here.
  2. Hey now Molto.... How can TSB4 be better than the best Tecmo football game ever made, Tecmo Super Bowl III?
  3. The No Frills Tough Guy League will be live streaming our 17th season starting Friday March 3rd at Noon and continuing non-stop until Sunday March 5th. Stream will be live on our twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/nftgl We play through 1 full TSB3 season on the Super Nintendo with each team in the NFC Central and West under Man Control. Updates and videos are posted on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nftgl/ Like and follow us on those pages for weekly video updates and our live streams. Also, check out our website, which is a pretty solid TSB3 resource page if you look under the Teams/Coaches tabs. You can review all of the base rosters for each team, as well as their playbooks. Link is in my signature.
  4. NFTGL season 16 was held back in August and videos have been getting posted to the No Frills Tough Guy League facebook page and youtube. If anyone prefers to see games linked here, let me know. Things have been quiet on the TSB3 section of the boards for a while now. Are people still playing? What do you have going on in your TSB3 right now?
  5. I would say that all defensive formations can be good, it just depends on the team that you are using, and how the drones support you when you're playing each formation. It also matters which plays you are calling on which formations and how the drones react to plays, and how they cover on passes. I do agree with some of what Slim said above, but I think all 4 formations are usable and it varies from team to team. Also, audibles can be great in many ways on defense. They allow you to play players on defense out of position. Which allows you to use formations differently from team to team. It really all comes down to personnel. Having the best players on the field can be a big deal sometimes... while other times, other teams, they just play differently.
  6. I hear that... Life gets crazy busy sometimes. I've had the same issues of late. Glad to hear the itch is still there.
  7. Hey drunken... how are things going? been a long while since we heard from ya
  8. Season 15 - Episode 53 Wildcard Playoffs Detroit Lions (4th) vs Carolina Panthers (5th)
  9. NFTGL 15 videos are nearing our playoff games. Some pretty crazy games occurred last season. Follow us on facebook and youtube (links above) to keep up to date on our videos.
  10. I posted in another thread about having a small catalogue of FA values for created players. I use this to make created players for manipulating rosters on carts by making creating players of low value on two teams, swapping them through FA and then deleting the players. here is the breakdown of what I have in my notebook. (I found the bests way to increase FA value was to increase every stat by 1 bump to move to a new FA value level. So when I reference stats, it assumes that all stats on the player are this number. QB: 6's = 20, 13's = 30, 25's = 50 RB: 6's = 20, 13's = 30, 25's = 50 WR: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 31's = 60 TE: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 25's = 40, 31's = 50 OL: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 31's = 40 DL: 6's = 20, 13's = 30, 25's = 50 LB: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 25's = 40 CB: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 25's = 40 S: 6's = 10, 13's = 20, 31's = 40 For Kicker and Punter I only boost the kicker attributes: K: 6's = 10, 13's = 10, 19's = 10, 25's = 20, 50's = 50 P: 6's-25's = 10, 38's = 20, 50's = 30, 63's = 40 Also... for DL... if you make everything 38 and then increase RP/MS/HP each to 40 the DL is worth 90. That's my cheat sheet. I add to it when I need to make something work, but this gets me by. Hope it helps.
  11. The Bucs team is pretty good... and has a very versatile base playbook. They could be up to the task... but for sure, that would be a good set up.
  12. making all of those changes to one cart sounds like a chore and a half... I like it. I wouldn't do all of that on one cart though, for fear of a reset. But it sounds fun. You could put all 4 of those teams in one division and then try to play with the remaining team. That could be fun, and super tough.
  13. I find shooting the gap easiest in Dime formation... but really, this depends largely on the playbook of your opponent. The gaps shift from formation to formation and are different on runs and passes and play action, etc... There are so many factors that learning to do it, from team to team and at different sets can be a trial... and I find that the more you try using other teams and players, it can impact your timing and make doing this tougher. Using the Top OLB slot in a 3-4 can be very effective because you can often run right past the OL... Though in a one set backfield, the FB slot player can get in the way. I don't know that this really covers what you're asking, but I think the question you're asking has a ton of variables making a universal answer difficult.
  14. Eric, the guy that posted about the Defense Only Challenge and is an active member of both the TLL and NFTGL spent a lot of time using DL players. He showed me a gap that you can exploit on certain formations where a DL can shoot through the OL like a middle LB can and get into the backfield and destroy a play. I've played with it a bit but you need a better DL to really make it work. I do use DL sometimes myself, but I generally prefer to move around the field and use different players based on what play I think was called and what I need to do.
  15. Fernando... Try building up an entire team full of super players like that... or as close as you can get. and then playing in season mode against that team every week with other teams. It's a lot of fun and super challenging (comparatively to playing the computer normally)
  16. Created players actually have different ceilings I believe. I don't have images of this, but maybe i'll work on it soon, but I've had fully maxxed players 100's in every stat at various positions and their value doesn't come close to the maximums at their position.
  17. NFTGL season 15 videos are under way. Hundreds of game videos from season 7-15 are available on our youtube channel. If you wanna keep up, follow us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/nftgl/ or youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC98r4rVeVY_fnpOC4Em_Bdw
  18. enjoy. follow us on facebook for our posts of new videos there. We post all of the close/good games there. Our youtube channel just gets every video uploaded over time. https://www.facebook.com/nftgl/
  19. That is not the right link... not sure why it did that. if you go to www.nftgl.com and go to "Schedule" and click on Season VII there is a link at the bottom for Game 242 against the NFC East winner. That's the easiest way to get there I guess since the link isn't pasting right.
  20. I generally don't play playoffs when I'm playing through seasons in against the comp. Mainly because I don't want to unlock the greats, but also because I use total seasonal statistics as kind of a guide to how well i'm doing with a specific team. So, if you meant, intentionally giving up in the playoffs (by the term tanking) then yes, I give up in the playoffs and just skp the games. But if you mean straight up computer losses, I don't know if I've ever had one in the playoffs but I lose to the computer frequently when I'm playing. Like, I'll finish 15-1 in maybe 1 of 3 of my practice seasons during the NFTGL off-seasons. In the NFTGL though, we have coaches lose to the computer almost every season, sometimes we'll see 2-3 losses in a single season. In our last season we had a playoff loss in our one seasonal comp game and the computer team (Cowboys) almost won their next game as well. They'll be up on youtube in a couple months. The only other time we had a playoff loss was in our first video recorded season and here's the link.
  21. I'm glad I had this site pointed out to me all those years ago. It's been a lot of fun on here.
  22. I have a list I could post of how to manipulate created player FA pt values as well. But this is only helpful if all the min value guys have been signed out of FA. If you make a created player with all 6's he has the min FA value, which lines up with at least 1 base FA player at every position. But if you're playing over a long period of time with many active teams, those min value guys will disappear, so you need to figure out how to make guys of higher value. The reason for this is that you can make two created players and trade them (in some cases this will actually make the trades more likely to go through) and if the trade doesn't go through, if you want to cleanly move them via FA they need to both be the same FA value (and share that value with a guy in FA). So if people wanted/needed that info, I could post what I have on my cheat sheet. (The base of it though is that a guy with all 6's as stats will be worth the base value. If you make them all 13's it will go up a bump, if you increase to all 19's, it will go up again, etc.)
