  1. Not sure what you might have done wrong, but I was able to change some ratings and possibly player names (can't remember?) But I was able to apply the patch following these instructions successfully.
  2. Can a RB that has been involved in a playfake become a WR?
  3. Cool, if I had any idea how to do these things i'd get it done for you. I probably just haven't put enough time into trying to figure it out. Haha..of course if I did know what I was doing I may lose my job, as I don't think I'd ever stop coming up with play ideas.
  4. So I was just staring at your overall playbook...and thinking it would be tight if you (or anyone) might be able to replace the last pass play in "Pass 4" --"Redgun Z Slant" with another Read-Option look. I don't know how difficult it would be to do, no experience successfully creating plays. The play could be anything from that look really, I was thinking a Play-action WR screen maybe? Don't get me wrong...this playbook is the absolute best I've ever seen as it stands. I mean these freakin things are built as true Game Plans for each team and they are TOUGH to defend. I think this would add on nicely, plus I can't imagine using any play that identifies itself with pre-snap movement (motion). Expanding on that notion, I guess I wouldn't mind seeing "Slot LZ Drive" ousted/swapped either. In the more original type Roms, Slot LZ Drive is one of my favs...In this case though, there are just better plays in your book that make more sense scheme wise. Thoughts?
  5. Yea, I started calling more runs also after seeing something about the 1 notch HP bonus based on guessing run vs pass, normally I'd only call runs inside my own 20 yd line or so, figuring I can cover all the open WR myself. My main issue though trying to stop the run is that I use secondary players 95% of the time, and I can't win a grapple against any decent RB....or halfway mobile QB for that matter.
  6. I haven't allowed a return TD yet in probably 20 games vs COM. My issue is with trying to stop the run, if anybody has that figured out...let me know. Can I win grapples somehow or am I just getting unlucky?
  7. If so I'm sure one of the hack masters will chime in re: AI FG length. Regardless this rom is sweet. I need to relearn how to stop the run apparently...I absolutely love the thought that went into the playbooks. A lot of these teams run so many plays out of the same look, and it makes it so tough to defend. With the roided COM HP combined with Jstout's COM passing logic you need to be extremely quick to diagnose where the play is going if you want to have any chance of containing. All of the bootleg and read option looks make it very difficult, and it's the right kind of difficult. So many times I've shot in at the QB when I think he's keeping on the read option only to have him stop and sling it over my head.
  8. Minor annoyance, is there any way to stop the AI from attempting 65+ yd FGs that they can't make?
  9. Top notch sir. The best and most complete rom for me. Love all the hacked up plays. Thank you so very much for your efforts
  10. Looks good, your playbook last year was one of my favorites of all time. Learning new plays imo is one of the best ways to keep the game fresh every year. Also helps with COM playbooks, as I find it difficult to give COM teams playbooks that don't have stupid flea flickers and reverses in them while still managing to have variation from team to team.
  11. Well yea i thought about how GB's pass heavy would be bad news for seneca wallace. Also he was in bad. Forgot to check defender conditions.
  12. Simming com season, WHOA! screenshot tool
  13. Somehow I played through a season without realizing i was playing teams that weren't in the game. NFC East Dallas Washington (Philadelphia) (New York) NFC Norris Green Bay Detroit (Chicago) (Minnesota) NFC South New Orleans Carolina (Atlanta) NFC West Seattle San Francisco (Arizona) AFC East New England Miami Dolphins (New York) AFC Norris Cincinnati Baltimore (Pittsburgh) (Cleveland) AFC South Indianapolis Tennessee (Houston) AFC West Denver Kansas City (San Diego) (Oakland) Yes I'm a dolphins fan, however I would make zero arguments in their favor after the manner in which they gave away their last 2 games, at home no less. I mean...who the hell wants to play as the Dolphins? Anyway I think this is what I would do. I think it makes sense to use popular teams, or teams with large fan bases once you run out of good teams. This also works toward balancing the league and maybe helping to differ the experience on a game to game basis.
  14. wow, was just down 34-10 in the 3rd and ended up winning the game. 4 TD passes, 2 onside recoveries, didn't even turn them over like i figured i would need to at least once. *edit* Forgot I had a safety, guess that is somewhat of a turnover. *edit* how to take screenshots uploading pictures
  15. Fact is though I just played for about 6 hours straight or something like that. haven't played a tecmo game that long in quite a while, good job, beyond anything I could comprehend doing.
  16. yea i did a few weeks with all com then got tired of buzzing through their games, thought it could have somethin to do with it. Overall my only real beef at this point is the huge number of overthrows i'm seeing. Can't count how many times my wr dives and comes up just short, regardless of qb talent
  17. Yea i'm def trying to rip it asap. I probably could have done more with marshall as when you have a combo of good-excellent between cutler and marshall he'll catch most balls. But with that for me will come INTs. When I can't afford a pick i kinda have to dink and dunk down the field because you ain't avoiding a pick. One time with the DB about 10 yards behind the wr and lined up with your throw is a pick. Though you're right 363 total isn't terrible. Might be more not enough TDs instead of too many picks. Some of the best QBs will have more picks than TDs
  18. Played a whole season consecutively just now with da bears. Finished reg. season 8-8, which won my division. Then in the playoffs i turned off my ability to 4x turbo between plays etc, because it ends up making me play way too fast and not even pay attention to what play i'm picking. I got way more conservative probably somewhat because of this, and ended up winning the super bowl. Bears 45 49ers 33 Bears 45 Falcons 25 Bears 54 Bengals 9. There were 363 INTs thrown in the regular season league wide. HOLY SHIT WHAT? lol Cutler ended up 111/215 1800 yds 38 td 25 int.....Forte 92 carries 427 yds 4.6 avg 14 td 23 rec 241 yds 10.4 avg 8 td Marshall 22 rush 96 yds 4.3 avg 6 td 33 rec 810 yds 24.5 avg 13 td Tillman had 11 picks 4 for tds Jennings 13 picks 1 td Briggs 4 picks 2 tds. All in all was a fun time, but I might like it better if INTs were tuned down a little, for me it's just a little too crazy/unpredictable, though i suppose this rom is supposed to be that way. I stopped throwing down field as much because it seemed to be 50/50 i'd get JJ int'd eventually. Started to snap switch and throw to forte most of the time.
  19. varying RS and RP are key for sure. I think that's why I'm bored with OG roms. Is it RP that enables WRs to "beat" DBs for a bit on go routes? Or is that a delayed coverage thing? I'm of the mind that guys like Welker Sproles Woodhead would benefit and perform more like themselves with higher RS but not enough MS to break away on the regular
  20. Yea, i've played a few of his too, and i do like them, especially the JBI format. I've been around here lurking forever and following the progress y'all make on this game. I think I go back to about 2005 or 2006 when I had played ~20 games on tpc. I think imma start wingin a HS roster update tonight, anything I need to know or anything that would help would be greatly appreciated. Also I promise not to post it in an effort to hijack one of your roms and call it mine.
  21. haha, yea i saw those plays. I like wr screens, or any kind if screen in tecmo really. I ran one of the blocker ones probably 8-10 times before realizing i wasn't controlling the ball carrier. You know, the fact that those wr screens work to well in most versions of tsb i've played is essentially negated by not being able to control the wr and only blocking for him. Was a really good idea.
  22. street rom is on crack! The fact that a 3 score game with 2 minutes left is not over makes for some intense moments. I think I gave up a td, fumbled the kr returned for a score, and then threw a pick on my first play after the next kickoff and lost a huge lead in the process, then hit a long td as time expired to re-steal the lead probably 20 seconds after I lost it. I think I need to turn the damn turbo button off on my controller because I already play so fast and pick so fast I don't even know what routes are being run half the time. Another thing i noticed is that by default on outside run plays I try to turn the corner but stay in bounds, so in this game it took me a few games to break off some decent runs. Turns out that extra couple steps that would normally be out of bounds is sometimes the difference between being stuffed and getting out into the open field. Love the high speed physics so much. At first I felt like there wasn't much of a cut game for the ball carrier, but now I'm thinking you just have to be way more assertive/aggressive with your cuts. Nice change of pace from the much longer cuts in the OG, also much more difficult. You got the play hacking/writing down to an art form. Your plays are more complete than most custom plays I've used. It's been that way for a few years now. For me it's about a realistically competitive com and a fresh experience playing the game. Whether it be a totally different thing (Street) or more of an NFL sim I love being able to play a rom that has TONS of custom plays. To me being able to run different plays than the standard OG plays we've all run 829034x each is possibly the biggest plus of all. Thanks for puttin in the time, I appreciate. Oh ya, new roster for HS slot D? Pretty plz?
  23. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/Chip-Kelly-stole-and-improved-the-QB-Eagles-run-play-from-Tecmo-Super-Bowl.html Jimmy Kempski of "Philly.com" with another QB EAGLES/TSB reference.
  24. Ha, can you update those rosters on the 11-12 HS/Slot Defense rom while you're at it? I'd do the work if I had any idea how you did them to begin with.
