  1. Completed this a few weeks ago, but my post got wiped when the board went down. Went 13-2-1 in the regular season. First round bye. Lost to the Jets twice. Tied with the Oilers. Beat the Bills when I was down by 2 scores with 50 seconds left. Grogan: 210-415, 4903 yards, 54 TDs, 26 INTs Fryar: 50-2067, 24 TDs Stephens: 52-844, 8 TDs Tatupu: 41-554, 4 TDs McMurty: 15-462, 4 TDs Adams: 21-285, 5 TDs Cook: 9-227, 2 TDs Allen: 15-222, 4 TDs Martin: 5-206, 2 TDs Dykes: 2-36, 1 TD (was in bad for about 14 weeks) Sievers: absolutely nothing (played maybe 2 games) 1st playoff game vs. Kansas City... Grogan's first pass of the game is an interception. Lowery went 1/3 in the first half, keeping the score close at 7-10. Okoye scored to open the third quater, but Grogan-McMurty hit right back with a cross field, back of the endzone pass, 2 defensive players diving but unable to make a play. McMurty scored again on a JJ in the 4th, giving me a 21-17 lead with 2 minutes left. KC drive down the field and get to my 25. A pass into the endzone that I assume will be a covered catch is... JUST too long. Pats win. Grogan has 243 yards, 50%, 3 TDs and an interception. McMurty is the hero with 3 catches for 103 yards, 2 TDs. 2nd playoff game vs. Houston... the uncoverable Jeffries scores early, then I get picked off in the redzone on 4th down with everyone covered. Turns into a tactical int, as I get a playpick safety the next play. 2-7 Houston. Then one of those crazy plays, that even after hundreds of Tecmo game still surprises you. I'm at about my own 20. I get playpicked on pass 2, and I try to dump it off into the flat, a play which is always either a complete pass to the RB or an incomplete. Well, Ray Childress, one of the blitzing players, jumps up and snatches it away. He takes it in for the score. 2-14 Houston. Grogan is in bad and really launching moon balls. The WRs have no chance. As time runs out to end the half, I hit Tatupu at about the 10, and he takes it in past three diving defenders. I'm back in the game at 9-14. 2nd half I get picked off straight away, then White scores. McMurty makes a great diving catch on a 4th and 10, and Fryar scores on the next play to make it 16-21. With four minutes to go, Grogan fumbles. Jeffries scores again, double covered in the endzone. 16-28. Going into JJ mode, it's just not happening for Grogan. Game over. Grogan has 275 yards, 51%, 2 TDs and 3 ints. Tatupu was the leading receiver with 7 catches for 98 yards. Fun!
  2. I love Tecmo Super Baseball on the Genesis, would be very interested in a roster update but have never seen one..
  3. I'm making a UFL rom. It will be a good option for people who want to play a season/dynasty all-MAN but have few Tecmo playing friends. That's the plan anyway - at the end of each season, each player will have a % chance to either go pro or retire based on how good they are, then a new crop of NFL dropouts and undrafted college players take their place. Anyway, I've edited the teams into the AFC-Central (original ROM). The team select screen currently has all the other mini helmets removed and the teams have been renamed blank, so only the UFL teams are visible there. However, you can still select the other teams. Is there some way to only have the four teams selectable on that screen, or to have the arrow start on the AFC Central? Not really a big deal, but would make the ROM cleaner. As would graphic edits, but anything involving tile editing is beyond me (have given the teams plain coloured large helmets).
  4. I'd like to add Bill Brooks into the equation. Yay on Garth Jax, Deion Sanders and Ronnie Lippett. Nay on Dwight Stone, Vai Sikahema, Joey Browner and Dave Waymer.
  5. David Lofton, who played for Stanford last year, as picked up as an undrafted free agent by the Dolphins but he was waived. Ryan Nece, LB for the Bucs, is Ronnie Lott's son. Joey Browner's son, Keith Browner Jr, is a linebacker for Cal.
  6. And the Outlaws in the XFL! Yo Murphy is a bit of a dude actually. Best journeyman ever. Wikipedia: "Yo is the only football player to play in all CFL, NFL, XFL and NFL Europe leagues. 1993-94 BC Lions 1995-99 Scottish Claymores 1999 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1999 Minnesota Vikings 2001 Las Vegas Outlaws 2001-02 St. Louis Rams 2002 Kansas City Chiefs 2003-05 Ottawa Renegades 2006-present Saskatchewan Roughriders"
  7. Gamefaqs has Tecmo Bowl 2008 listed for Wii and PS3. Though that doesn't mean much at all.
  8. Nice. I got an issue of the comic NFL Superpro from 1991 and it has a pretty sweet at for Nike's "Club Bo": "One day I was real sad and my dad said, "Hey, here's $17 bucks. Spend it all in one place." So I joined Club Bo and pretty soon all this stuff showed up in the mail, like a Bo Jackson T-shirt, a gnarly newsletter, a membership certificate, and a poster of Bo to go on my mirror! After I joined Club Bo things were completely different. At school they voted me Most Cool and Most Likely to Marry Miss Mississippi! Today I'm the Ambassador to Hawaii! I fly my own helicopter!! Yesterday I bought Italy!! And a football team! Thank you Bo!" I'm pretty tempted to join Club Bo.
  9. I'm certainly not complaining about Jeff George being terrible. He didn't deserve it, but I love the Tecmo ratings!
  10. He was a good player, but in 1988 he threw 4 TDs/13 INTs, in 1989 he threw 9 TDs/14 INTs, and in 1990 he was nowhere near the starting role. What's more of a mystery to me is Jeff George. He was the #1 draft pick, and as a rookie he threw 2152 yards with 16 TDs and 13 picks.
  11. http://au.xbox.ign.com/articles/769/769812p1.html "As a high school recruit, Zabransky grew up on a potato farm in little Hermiston, Ore., a town better known for its seedless watermelon than star-athletes. And Zabransky was a star, a Jimmy Chitwood of football, baseball and basketball and named Eastern Oregon's Athlete of the year as a junior in 2000. For fun, there was little more to do than ride dirt bikes, pop in Tecmo Super Bowl, play a lot of sports, and, oh yeah, throw potatoes." Sounds like a pretty cool place to live!
  12. Man. This is tight. I can't host because I have to pay for a static IP according to my crappy provider, and my friend can't either, and we just played 2 games. Connection was pretty good. Can't compare against direct IP connection through nesticle though, but ping was 1-2. Seemed to be a lot of retries, not sure what that was all about, but the game worked fine.
  13. 1. Colts. I just love busting out a big run with Ivy Joe Hunter. The using those LBs is sweet. 2. Pats. MOSI TATUPU! MOSI TATUPU! 3. Seahawks. Cortez Kennedy + Tommy "Gunn" Kane. I guess I just prefer playing with crap teams. It takes the pressure off, plus I'm better at grinding out gains than breaking off big runs.
  14. Aww. Andre Waters - sucky, whatever system to use.
