I can pretty much guaranty that both Eric, his Brother & Ryan will be there again next year and it will be epic. I strongly suggest everyone consider the unintended consequence to allowing game resets as the result of participant actions- may open a can of worms. Every player may make a subtle act in an attempt to reset a game if they feel they are losing control, have player condition issues, etc. A great tourney, well run, growing in popularity and hopefully a little character/ rivalry can add to the excitement and drama of the event going forward. If nothing else I feel like the unofficial ambassador of the Twin Cities to the Pillager region now, a diplomat of sorts- a Don as the Italians would say. My final word on the topic- To error is human, to forgive is simply not my policy

Eric- the good news is that I heard you are not from Cass Lake, but rather New Brighton. Truth is that Ed & I play Tecmo for money regularly so by all means, if you'd like to come out for a few cash games I'm up by Forest Lake & Eddie is in Blaine. I'll even buy the beer. There is no reason to let my Championship be the end all of this budding Tecmo rivalry, we can play all the time man- for whatever odds we'd like!

It was a wonderful tourney, lots of fun and again thank you Ben and the sponsors (Ben you can tell D&D that Bill Kuether from Kuether Distributing says hi; they may remember me or may not, depends on who you dealt with there). Thou the final game appears to have an cloud of controversy over it, I think really it's just the sour grapes of a misguided point of view on the conduct that is expected from players in the tourney. A couple things needs to be pointed out here for those that read this and since, for once, I'm on solid ground here with respect to virtue allow me to pontificate the facts as I see them: 1) The score was 7-0 good guys 2) Eric was down a possession (fumble), I had the ball at midfield, it was start of 2cnd qtr & I got the ball at half coming. Each a large factor in the momentum of the game play 3) Eric is crippled in his style of game play with the team choices I made. Dropping the teams into the Indi/ Ne game effectively took away any speed Eric could have on offense, effectively eliminating his chances of scoring in a come from behind manner; I meanwhile continue to move methodically up and down the field 4) Earlier in the tourney I believe Eric saw a game reset in the 1st qtr when there was an accidental (and non player induced) game reset. I summarized that Eric concluded this desperation attempt to reset the game was his only chance to resuscitate his terminally ill game plan 5) Eric did in fact open hand slap, with full force, the table in a violent and assault enabled mode. It was scary, I saw a couple kids at the table behind us begin to tear up and crowd by their mother in fear 6) The game didn't just reset, the sheer violence expressed by Eric jolted the cartridge out of the locked position- just in case there was any wondering about how blunt he struck the table and how furiously angry he was at the time 7) There is a clear expectation of voluntary versus involuntary game resets and given the facts above and the fact that, in this game, there was $200 on the line I really believe Ben made the proper call as there was no other call to be made But, if that wasn't enough, it must be pointed out that on this particularly cold and icy day, my road to victory was paved with 3 wins versus Eric (more then I beat any other player in the tourney) GG thou

Weak sauce- i actually suggest you bring the wife with, this will run from 11-4 probably and after you should take her out to a winery or something, there are 3 w/in 30 minutes here, makes for a nice date night (winery tour, walk around Taylors Falls, dinner somewhere). Just sayin'

Noone will hear you scream out here- just ask Ed

Bill (AKA Sconnie) is offering to host a small tourney/ get together at his place in Forest Lake. Free beer, soda, hot dogs & burgers. We'll have a bon fire going as well. Figured we'd run 2 single elim tourneys on 2 flatscreens, NFL style. Looking for 8 - 10 guys; $20 per tourney (so bring $40 and play in both). Winner gets 75%, runner up 25%. Run from 10 am to 4ish or till everyone sucks down the free beer! Feel free to bring your fishing pole too, I live on a lake here.

QB Eagles vs. Jerry Rice (The Final Matchup!)
mn55056 replied to Bad Moon Rison's topic in Tecmo Super Bowl - NES
Exactly...and as far as the Eagles go on the rom...they have a 56 rec WR, a 69 rec TE, a 63 rec RB and a couple 44 ms rb's as well....that's a very good offense, better then I play with usually...top 5 overall even w/a qb like Obrien or Magic. Their defense has a stud DB, 2 stud LB's and 3 great DL's...what more do you want? What version of Tecmo do you play? -
QB Eagles vs. Jerry Rice (The Final Matchup!)
mn55056 replied to Bad Moon Rison's topic in Tecmo Super Bowl - NES
No, if he were actually the best player in the game then that should be enough to compensate for any misgivings in talent. IMO Randal isn't as effective as Montana, Kelly or Moon. Everything you can do with QB Eagles you can do with Testeverde. However, with Rice, if you were to move him around, you have the 2nd fastest RB in the game (Jackson) and the fastest and best WR in the game. If QB Eagles doesn't have a RB or WR he is worthless, however even a shitball QB can win games with Rice at RB or WR.
