  1. Some cutting-edge analysis: —Arncoem (10) and Brad (9) played the most games. —Matt D was 8-0 and Teta was 7-1 —Five people went 0-5 —17 of 31 players got in at least 6 games —San Diego was 9-2 overall and 5-0 in playoffs (Arncoem got two big wins with Chargers) —Most used: MIN 13; KC 12; SD/CHI 11; CIN 10 —Pittsburgh was 0-5; Jets 1-5; WAS 1-4 Some of our who-picked-who data is incomplete, but in pool play: —Bears were put in 6 matchups, the coin toss loser took Chicago 5 times. All 6 Bears matchups featured a different opponent. Of course that changed in bracket, where CIN-CHI was very popular —Coin loser took KC 6 of 8 matchups (twice over Miami) —Coin loser took Dallas in 4 of 6 matchups, twice over Denver. The two times the coin loser went away from Dallas were both for the Cardinals —Houston was put in 7 matchups vs GIA/BUF/SF—the coin loser only picked Houston twice —Coin loser took opponent 5 of 6 times over Saints—Nobody likes the Walsh/Fourcade combo I guess —SF was put in 5 matchups, coin loser took them every time Scores: 17 of 63 pool games were decided by 7 or fewer points including one tie. 9 of 31 bracket games decided by 7 points or fewer 16 shutouts in pool games, plus 6 more teams held to 6 or fewer points 6 shutouts in bracket games, plus 3 more teams held to 3 points Largest margin of victory was 42 by Michael W. Teta and Francis each had 41 point wins. Ed had two 38-0 wins.
  2. Not to pile on, but my game in bottom right vs Anthony was PHX over JET, not cin.
  3. Impressed that Ryan's predictions had me at #15 (then losing!?). Also, that exquisite comeback by red98sethuthut in group play came at my expense. I'd like to thank Tecmo for fumble recoveries. I think I was +5 or 6 in that category—got very lucky vs Ed, Neal Anderson fumbled three times that game. Also my gameball goes to Marion Butts, who I rode for 434 yards in group play, then another 150 in the bracket. And, naturally, Arncoem beat me with about 17 Butts runs right through the middle. Also, against Mort and Arncoem I was down 10 and converted 4th downs—another thanks goes to Tecmo, I believe the conversion in the semis was Richard Johnson's greatest moment. Last, I want to thank all my opponents for never selecting Washington, Minnesota, or the Rams. You're the real heros.
  4. i cant believe the tourny took place one week before i am spending a four day weekend at the U of M. son of a bitch
  5. I used to go to the U of M, but I am at Marquette now. I could be at coffman on the weekend of October 21-23 possibly.
  6. Andre Waters actually had a really solid NFL career...individually as well as being a part of one of the greatest defenses in NFL history.
  7. This is the first time I have heard any Fenerty doubting. I easily consider him to be the best return man in the game. I have have more td"s with him than anybody else in all my years of playing
  8. I had 12 punt returns in a season with Dwight Stone once. Another time I had 11 with Gil Fenerty. To me they are the best all around return men. Leo Lewis is great and John Taylor has my personal record for yards per return.
  9. I think this might be a little open ended, so I decided to narrow the question a little. I picked the Raiders, solely based on who I think the toughest team to play against is. In my years of playing against the computer, I would make a very confident guess that I have lost to the Raiders more than any other team. There is a certain "cheapness" factor to every team. What I mean by that is that some teams just seem to pull out some crazy stuff, like weird fumbles or broken tackles or crazy comebacks. The Raiders are the team that does this to me. I once lost a Super Bowl to the Raiders on a 95 yard run by bo jackson on the last play of the game. So looking at this subject from the view point of who is the hardest COMP team to beat, I would go with the Raiders.
  10. I really like playing with the Saints. I like having the great return game and decent defense. Also, I have fun with teams who have running back committee. I also like the Vikings, but that it because they are my favorite team. A couple others would be the Jets, Redskins and Lions.
  11. I was wondering if anybody else ever changes the CPU playbooks? Every season I got into each teams data and change their playbooks so that they dont have as many plays that are easy to read. For example, I get rid of flea-flickers and reverses, anything that I can cause 5 fumbles a game on. I have found that i makes the season a little mroe competitive for me and also some teams stats benefit greatly from this. Anybody try a similar thing?
  12. I think one thing being over looked is special teams. The steelers offense is much better than it looks simply because dwight stone gives them great field position. For my money he is the second best return man in the game, behind fenerty of course. The rams do have Ellard returning punts, but he isnt the same kind of impact returner that Stone is.
