Tips for reducing the efficientcy of long passes?
EdibleAntiPerspirant replied to Pernero's topic in Tecmo Super Bowl - NES
Lower PC Lower REC Higher INT In general, I like to make the average INT on a rom one notch higher than PC and REC, usually 56/50. -
"Super Tecmo Bowl"?

Original style: Brady 75 ps, 81 pc Moss 63 ms, 75 re Welker 44 ms, 81 re Defense-oriented style: Brady 69 ps, 69 pc Moss 56 ms, 69 re Welker 31 ms, 75 re (only 10.5 ypr) Keep in mind that I'm basically pulling this out of my ass.

That was one of the greatest sentences I've ever read.

Last night I had a dream that Knobbe stepped into the road and got nailed by a cement mixer. You guys think it really happened?

No, and you can't.

POST Your favorite Playbook

As long as you have Proehl and the WR reverse, it doesn't matter what the other 7 are. Proehl is unstoppable. -
Ah, memories.

I assume you mean there are dots where the "skp" is supposed to be. All you have to do to fix that is open the rom in TSBM (not TSBM2000) and save it.

Sure, I will do that, just for you. I should have it ready for testing within three weeks. I assume you will be paying me via PayPal? -
Tecmo Super Bowl of other sports....
EdibleAntiPerspirant replied to philleyOphish's topic in Other Games
Baseball Stars, Tecmo Super NBA and Sensible Soccer come to mind. -
It certainly does.

Unless you want everybody to be running for 12 yards per carry, there probably shouldn't be more than a handful of rb's with 56 ms (unless of course you make super fast defenses). Even the original only has about a dozen with 56+.

Yeah, he's around... Unfortunately I haven't had the time to do anything involving Tecmo for a long time. I was thinking of doing a preseason rom for this year, with more original-style ratings since that seems to be by far the most popular way to go. -
This topic is like a conversation on the short bus.

Yes, you got me there. I downloaded your rom, but I felt so threatened by its greatness that I felt the need to destroy it. Actually, all I did was delete it from my hard drive, but it still felt so satisfying. Destroy all roms!

In Madden, how many different attributes does each player have? Maybe 30 or 40? In Tecmo, every player has 4 to 8, and usually only three or four are significant. There's just no good way to consolidate all those Madden numbers into a select few for Tecmo. Even the overall rating isn't very useful because it's just an arbitrary number and doesn't hold any value on its own. Plus, like someone was saying earlier, Madden ratings really aren't all that accurate to begin with. They give superstar ratings to washed-up veterans and one-year wonders. They make rookie/unproven QBs great even though 90% of them suck in their first season. In other words, anyone on this board could probably come up with something just as good, or better, as Madden ratings with a little work.

An actual quote from In2DaBMage, one of the most legendary Tecmo players of all time: "Guys, I can't stop Hostetler! He either throws to his receivers or runs!" QB Browns is clearly the best QB on this list, but I voted for Vinny anyway.

ROM Not Saving...SMC file is NOT read only...
EdibleAntiPerspirant replied to billmac1981's topic in Editors/Emulation
Are you using "Export Data" or "Save"? Save just creates a file specifically for TSBM with a .tsb extension. To actually make changes a rom you have to export the data to it. -
This is amazing. I never would have dreamed that something like this was even remotely possible.

Holy shit, this pi hole guy is insane. You could compile a world book encyclopedia using all the posts he's made in the last two days.
