  1. Once again, is there anyone willing to help move just 2 tiles to a large helmet that needs them? I am closing in on the end of the big helmet part of my edit and still need that one done. Thanks, DM
  2. I'm changing helmet graphics on a "high school" rom I'm working on. I am stuck. I need to make a helmet that is essentially a Michigan helmet. I am using the Chargers to do it, but I need to borrow a coupe tiles to finish it. Could someone that knows how to move tiles do this one thing for me if I send it to you? I can pretty much do everything else. If so, let me know and I'll e-mail it out to you. Thanks, Dophin26
  3. If I get your meaning, yes. OPen your rom, find the area you want to change (for example, the Packers large helmet), and pull up the palette editor. click on that color and a set of RGB color boxes pop up w/ sliders. Slide until you change to the color you want, then go under FILE and SAVE PALETTE. This should save it, but remember, it also changes every other object with that color in the game to the new color.
  4. Hey Matt, Those look pretty good to me. Keep up the good work. I hope to play it pretty soon.
  5. It can be done easily, but if you change the palette file for that color in Nesticle, it will also change everything else that is that same color to the new color, so be sure you want that.
  6. Thanks Rod, Got that one figured out (although I'm using a windows-based hex editor now. ) I managed to figure out how to exchange logos with another team. Man, that was helpful. ANy help on the displaying my helmets at the same time I'm editing them in the hex editor? With all the help from people and the tutorials online here, I have a good deal of the graphics part figured out. Maybe I'll write the Graphics Editing for Dummies when I get a rom finally accomplished.
  7. Guys, Is there a way to show the rom you're editing at the same time as the hex editor? Or is there at least a way to minimize Nesticle? There is a small gray box in the upper corner, but it doesn't do anything. I'd like to see my results w/out having to restrat the ROM every time.
  8. Matt / Jstout, Believe it or not, you guys taught me something! I can now locate and change the palette colors for the big helmets. I won't bother to ask how you found where that stuff is. I'm just happy you found it. I managed to change 2 helmets' colors around tonight without too much of a problem. I am going for the night, but just a question before I go (you can see this is going to be an ongoing series : With TSBM, why is it that sometimes my team names / abbreviations and so forth don't "take" or show up? Sometimes it no problem at all.. others it is. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyway, I can now find and edit the large helmets and change the palette. Moving a "square" of space on the helmet grid will be my next challenge... tomorrow.
  9. Jstout, Okay, if I got the faq right, I think Philadelphia's colors start at x23DE8. And the color numbers are 2B 1B 0B 10 30 32 30 31. I started at the address you gave and counted 16 strings of 8 to get to that point (you said they were in order). Now if I have the numbers right, how to I change those numbers to the colors I want? Like the helmet to gray, the wing's outline to red, inside to white? If I'm way off, please let me know.
  10. Well, using your FAQ, I managed to find the offsets for the teams (how you located those in the first place, I'll never know), and I also saw where the palette numbers are (I think), but when I changed a couple numbers and checked the rom, things seemed to look the same.
  11. I know I'm being a pain, but since I've never used a hex editor before is x23D79 the number on the very left hand side (of both editors I've downloaded) or is it somewhere in the mass of numbers in the middle? I'm trying, I really am. And there's a cookie in it for the person who helps me out
  12. No offense, but those questions were directed to jstout, Matt, or one of the others that have a lot of knowledge on this stuff.
  13. Here is an example of the palette I want to change. I screen captured this, so the colors are really messed up, but you'll get the idea. Now, I take it the numbers I want to use are the values I've circled in black on the picture. What order do they go in, can I just search for them in the hex editor and how do I use the chart above to replace values? I think those are the three big questions. Thanks
  14. Okay, I read the how-to on palette editing. and here are my questions: 1. Open the rom in Nesticle No problem 2. Click "View", "Palette" or press F4. Wonder of wonders! There it is! No problem 3. Click on the numbers and copy down (or just remember) the hex values of whatever it is you want to change. They are arranged in groups of four. Copy them down. (eg. 00 0F 10 1F) - I am guessing this is the 3 numbers/letters under the colors and the one on the left. But what order? 4. Pick the new colors you wanna use with my nifty chart. Use hex numbers, not decimal ones! Yahoo! (eg. 0F 31 21 3A) When intersecting the numbers on the chart below, you come up with 2. Where do the others come in to play? I am guessing you still need 4. FOR EXAMPLE: I just looked up the color orange(ish). The numbers were FF C4 00 12 I used FIND in the hex editor and although I could find instances with two of these sets of numbers, there weren't any where all 4 appeared. What am I doing wrong?
