There is room to add more teams, but season mode wouldn't work. There's not enough sram to track all the stats.
Would you be able to get a .sta at the end of every game even if the rom doesn't track the stats?
-
I finally got some time to put those 1990's Tecmo games on my PSP. I was just about to start up a season with the NY Jets when I see no NY Jets listed on the game? So this must be an older version of the rom that came down before all the hacks came about. So I have a 1996 rom with no NY Jets, lol. Maybe I should just try to make my own 1996 rom hack of Tecmo.
LOL, the Jets were 1-15 in '96. They deserved to be eliminated. Who was the other team axed? The Saints?
-
I play mostly against COM, and even then, when I use the Giants I'll be Pepper Johnson and Everson Walls as much as LT.
-
Are you talking about making it possible to have things like 50ms, 51ms, 52ms, 53ms, 54ms, etc?
If so, not sure it would make much of a difference in game play, but it would make doing ratings a lot easier. Whatever scales I have used in the past, I often found myself stuck between two ratings for a given player. Is this RB 56ms or 50ms? That kind of thing. If I could just plug in 53 and be done with it that might be nice.
-
I'd be impressed to see you regularly score over 100 with how Bo Jackson-like all the players are.
Anyway, it makes it dull for me when the RB gets tackled in the backfield, the QB gets almost sacked or picked off, and everyone's over-covered on every single play resulting in a ton of terrible-stat games.
I like classic TECMO, but with the new guys. I've beaten the game fully juiced, and it was ultra-lame never really accomplishing much. Since the early 90's, my brother and I have been stat-whores in football games, and we're always trying to break our old Tecmo records.
1000/16 = 62.5 per game. I haven't actually tried this rom, but are the defenses much stronger than in the original?
-
I think this is the first time I've seen someone asking to turn the juice off. Usually people want to turn it up. Wouldn't that make the game mad boring? I'd score over 1000 easy that way.

I always try to go undefeated with the Pats and Colts. I did it with the Pats not too long ago. I don't think I ever managed it with the Colts. That D kills me. At least the Pats have Lippett.
I tried that John Stephens challenge and my first loss was to the Bills. Then he kept getting injured so I got bored and gave up.
I can go undefeated playing Man vs. Com, but coaching is tough! You pick the wrong plays against the Bills and it's over.
whoops, sorry. Missed that you were doing COA. I don't think I've ever done a season with anyone in COA.

Vikings are a better overall team, but the Lions passing game is not that much worse. The Lions secondary is very weak, though. If you think you can dominate with Barry, go for it. Otherwise take the Vikes. Forget the Saints, they are worse than the Jets.
-
I'd say Wade also unless you had dominant performance from your D?
Keith Millard is always my MVP when I use the Vikes. usually 30 or 40 sacks and a couple of picks.

While reading about Pigskin, I saw that Rampage and the basketball game Arch Rivals was created by the same people. These guys must have had some serious aggression issues!

didn't test any of these, but it might be a good place to start.
-
I played Pigskin once in the arcade, but didn't have a lot of time. It seemed like something I could get into if I had the chance to play it more.
For racing you have to go with Outrun. That game was classic.

1960 - 2009 is 50 years
1960-1969
1970-1979
1980-1989
1990-1999
2000-2009
Oh yeah, that's true.
Anyway, now I'm thinking one "conference" could be the early teams and the other could be more modern teams. I'm thinking 28 team rom, so you would have the Browns as the early team and the Ravens as the modern team, OIlers and Titans. Houston Texans just wouldn't be in it. There are some teams that I would like to include and didn't, but I'm going early as possible and late as possible. Maybe do a 32-team rom and include an extra Raider team, extra Pit team, this year's Houston team, etc. Here's a tentative list:
AFL East / AFC East
Buf 1964 or 65 / 1990
Bal 1970 / Ind 2006
Mia 1972 / 1984
Bos 1964 / NE 2007
NYJ 1968 / 1998
AFL Central / AFC Central
Cin 1973 / 1981 or 88
Cle 1971 or 72 / Rav 2000
Hou 1960 or 61 / Ten 1999
Pit 1974 or 75 / 2005 or 08
AFL West / AFC West
Den 1977 / 1997 or 98
Dal 1962 / KC 1993 or 2003
Oak 1967 / 2002
SD 1963 / 1994 or 2007

You know what would be really sick? if you could figure out how to make it look like Bo Jackson is running down a tunnel after an 80-yd TD run
maybe change the colors of the field or something and splice that in after a TD.

Aside from the fact that the NFL appears to be celebrating a year early: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d ... nfirm=true (AFL started in 1960, so wouldn't next year be the 50th Anniversary?), and I don't have time to do this myself, I thought it might be a cool idea to make an AFL-themed rom.
There are a number of ways you could do this - but the 8 original teams (plus the two added before the merger), or at least the best players from that first decade (1969 Jets, obviously), should be featured, plus the same teams from the current era. You could fill in the rest of the rom with notable AFC teams throughout the years - Madden Raiders, '70s Steelers, Bills with Thurmal, late 90s Broncos, etc.
It wouldn't be a problem having the same team from different eras play each other because the uniforms would be different.
-
It's not that hard once you get into it. I learned from scratch a few years ago. I think I forgot most of what I learned, but I figured out enough from the threads on this board to do what I wanted.

The announcement by Versus seemed to catch Patriots coach Bill Belichick off guard on his regular Tuesday conference call with reporters.
“Did I miss it? Did we announce anything?” Belichick questioned Patriots assistant director of media relations Aaron Salkin when asked to comment on the announced signing.
When told the team hadn’t announced it, Belichick said, “I didn’t think so. ... We don’t have anything to say about it.”
Belishit is such an asshole.

It's funny that 3 of those guys play the same position their dad did. And with Lofa, LBs and RBs have a similar build. It's weird that a HOF OL had a WR though. I wonder if his mom is small

Hello again, Mr. Seau: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12357544
Nice! Back to two!

full power kickoff rom

There is already a kickoff hack, if you set it to max the shortest possible kick (right after onside) lands about the 10 yd line, with the longest still at the back of the end zone. It's probably in one of the stickies in the hacking section.
If you want to practice against passing just play COA and call pass every play.
