Our first Tecmo super bowl Meetup in the Chicago area. Michael Anthony's has an awesome menu and great prices. The 3 dollar baby pizza is a steal of the deal. This is Tom's local bar. So if you come out represent. Buy some great food and tip well. They have plenty of room for up to 30 in a back room. It is 10 mins from the blue line station and near a metra. I can pick you up and drop you off if needed. Format is open Tecmo. We might have a mini tourney part of the night that can have optional prizes. If your serious about coming out, hmu. I need 10 people to show up in order to keep having the bar available to us. This place is nice and could easily host a 30 to 60 person event. Equipment for those new we only use crt TV's for better gameplay. We ideally want 1 system for every two players. Of you can voulenteer equipment please message me. Mort 2 tv 1 system Tom 2 tv 2 systems
  3. https://www.meetup.com/Chicago-Tecmo-Super-Bowl-meetup/ I talked to a few of you guys at Madison about having a monthly get-together and play Tecmo. I also put it on Meetup as I had a friend use it successfully to gather a lot of traffic for his group. Anyways if you live near Chicago or just want to come we will be having our first Meetup in the first or second week of May. Right now we are shooting for a ride, wed or Thurs night. 6 to 10. Tom has a potential location that we can use and we will confirm an exact date. If your interested and can bring equipment send me an email to [email protected]. Also if you have any questions. Also take a moment to sign up for the group on MeetMe. That will help recruit new people.
  4. All players get a free beer or equivalent credit towards food on me if your not drinking or can't handle your liquor well.
  5. This is my offical entry. As announced on facebook. 100 dollars to the 1st to beat me in tourney play 100 bucks if you eliminate me 100 extra to the winner. This should be easy money. I don't have time to practice and i will be worn out driving to buffalo. See ya all in a couple weeks.
  6. Tourney Results....Not sure if championship SCORE tween me and dt is right. Teams are right. Note about pitt vs det game dt vs lou ( 8 lost fumbles, 2 for td scoopers for tds {1 for each team}, 2 blocked fgs {1 scooped up 4 a 1st down for DT} ). GOOB LOU!!!!! buffalobounty3results.xls
  7. yes that is legal. What is not legal is running the ball with a "wr or te" (unless its a reverse). However you may have a "wr or te" at the rb2 position as long you don't run the ball with him ( Say for blocking purposes or hail mary bomb situation). Ty for signing up. Nice to meet you.
  8. Note: Were going ask everyone to chip in 2 bucks for the $20 prizes. Its optional. (20 Hard-Luck Tecmoer prize--First Person TO GIVE UP a TD on a lost fumble, $20 Most Rushing Yards in the first 4 rounds with Thurman Thomas ). So this way there's a bigger pot.
  9. Updated the prizes pool...Updated Sign up List...Separated Players Entry and Bounty Fees. Its $20 to play in the tournament. To avoid confusion i posted how much of your $20 goes to Prize pool and Bounty Pool. If you are a newer player your bounty fee is $5 and Prize pool fee is $15...if Experienced Player your prize pool fee is $10 and your bounty fee is $10. You earn a player's "Bounty Fee" if you eliminate them from the tournament. Note: IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE YOUR BOUNTY FEE LET US KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Current Prize Pool $195 Current Bounty Pool 150 Prizes Based 30 players: Prize Pool: $345 Bounty Pool: $305 Prizes Based 40 players: Prize Pool: $445 Bounty Pool: $405 Prizes Based 50 players: Prize Pool: $545 Bounty Pool: $505

We have also had problems with people saying they want to play then no show on game day. Refund Policy: We will give you refund up to 4 days before the tourney starts if we get an official notice that you can't make it . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FORMAT+RULES: RANDOM TRIPLE ELIMINATION ( $5 to $10 bounty prize 4 every player you knockout) 1. Tournament Format – Every player in the tournament will play one game per round. A random draw will determine each player’s opponent for the round. A player is eliminated from the tournament when they have accumulated three losses. The last player remaining will be declared the champion. 2. Byes - If there are an odd number of players at the start of a round, then one player will receive a bye (this will be determined through the random draw). Any player who has previously received any byes will be ineligible for another bye unless all other remaining players have also received byes. 3. Note: You may draw a opponent more than once. If this occurs you must alternate who calls the match-up on the "rematch" game!!! Game play rules 1. D.l. line use with no lurching: A D.L. (defensive lineman) lurch is defined as trying to dive tackle or blitz the QB at the snap on a drop back pass or trying to use the same effect to break up a running play. Bumping the tackle is fine (on a up or down or backwards direction). Any other form of DL use is legal. The below video link shows what is illegal. 2. W.R. or T.E.’s Cannot have run plays in playbook(except 4 reverse). However you may substitute an w.r./t.e. at rb2 slot as long they don't have a running play.players like Givins and Sanders are considered wr's. 3. Playbook changes/lineup editing each pregame... (this is not a 103.3 the edge tourney) 4.“One Match-up Once” Rule: The coin-flip winner can only select a particular matchup once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Packers-Browns, Player A cannot call that exact match-up for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that match-up later in the tournament. This also includes the popular "random match-up cards". 5. TIES: No game can end in a tie. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. All OT's will be 5-minute sudden death periods. If nobody scores in the first OT, the second OT will be only the first quarter in a new game. If the game goes to an 2nd O.T. you will alternate who gets the ball first (in the second o.t.). This process will be repeated until a winner emerges. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in every OT period, the receiving team (i.e. team that gets the ball first) shall alternate beginning with the second OT period. 6. Team Selection & Coin Toss: A manual coin-flip will precede each game. The coin-flip winner will choose the matchup (i.e. the two teams). The coin-flip loser then selects either (a) one of the two teams or ( his preferred controller. If the coin-flip loser selects his preferred controller, the coin-flip winner selects a team first. We also still have the "match-up cards". You can use them but the loser of the coin toss still gets to select his "team" or "controller" preference. And using match-up cards applies to rule 4 (you cant call that same match-up later even if it was picked at random). 7. Tournament Issues All issues will be settled by the tournament crew. Headed by Louis Buennagel, Francis Buennagel. (Others will be designated by gameday as seconds for when we are playing.) Report controller issues and any other issues AS SOON AS IT HAPPENS. We will use the warm-up session to test all controllers and equipment so hopefully everything works fine. Game freeze will be settled by playing out part or all of the game depending on circumstance... unless you cause a reset by your physical actions. The final decision is up to the tournament directors or those designated by the directors. All equipment loaned for the tourney will be tracked. You may use your own controller if it is standard but do not move the other controller from that station. Respect all equipment as if it was yours. Excessive misbehavior will result in your elimination from the tourney and all future events.. 8. There will be at least 1 live streams on Twitch, twitch.tv/mort1237 9. GAMBLING: There's been couple guys who made some side bets last year on H2H pickup games. Money on the wood to make the bet all good. No drama. make your rules clear before the game starts. Max wager is $20. No betting on your own tournament games your playing in. You may wager on live games that your not playing in either (IE MYnameisFlo). 10. We have the right to change the format if needed. 11. Please mark and label all your equipment. So it isn't lost. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PreGame Friday Tecmo festivities location (This will be the location for Friday night festivities.) 13. also is there a place where i can see all the player cards. the two I've seen are incredible
  14. nice. you really should be writing children's books. just for the record we are still waiting for your first trip into what i like to call New Land. I mean others call it New York State and New England, New Jersey. Its just beyond the Vogtier on the map.
  15. >http://youtu.be/pRwQ_YaWzns made this public so I can be embarrassed by all my non tecmo friends as they watch it. Then laugh at there lack of understanding with the snow today i finally have some free time. first time in 3 months. anyways the pics and videos are great. here is a link to my small part in the ryder cup. great job. btw: next year you can put this event in Russia and there is a good chance I'll be able to bring a 4 man crew along with my sales team to destroy this event.
  16. obviously your not from buffalo if your asking why I had a Steve Tasker division. There is no way a special teams player like him had a chance of making the game and yet he was a key player in Buffalo during those years. The theme of the groups was the lesser know Bills after the big name and of course Tasker seemed to fit that group. To be honest based on popularity I honestly feel in the Buffalo area his name is probably next in people's hearts after the big names of Levy, Thomas, Kelly and Smith.
  17. almost set to get the tournament started. about to head on out. watch live games all day at twitch.tv/mort1237

This was emailed as well. Keep in mind placement in super group Kelly or Thomas means an automatic 1 or 2 seed in the bracket portion. Below is the schedule for the weekend,. Also for any local guys you do not have to play in group play. I will seed anyone who is on time for the bracket portion. Group play is a good chance to warm up, meet people and have fun without the full pressure of elimination on your backs. Friday May 2nd 6pm to 11 pm Tecmo Hang out at AJ's Lounge in Cheektowaga I'll bring a couple of systems and this will be the last chance to prepay. Several guys from out of town will be there to hang out. If you have even a hour or so free stop by get a few games in, a beer and meet some of the players. Saturday May 3rd 9 am Setup (the bar will open at 9 am for set up and Louis and I will be there.) Once we get things going feel free to get warmed up. There is a Tim Horton's next door if you need a quick breakfast or a good coffee. 9:30 am Signups- those playing in group should arrive no later than 11 pm. I would hope if you have not prepaid you will be present by this time but no later than 10 am 10:15 am By this time the set up should be done and Louis and I will have a short introduction speech explaining rules and a few other features 10:30 am If everyone in your group is there then I will ask those groups to begin. 11:00 am By this time the group play will be set. Anyone arriving afterwards will have to settle for scrimmages and await the bracket portion. Again if you cannot make it till later you can still play. 2:00 pm group play should not go beyond this time 2:00 to 3 pm. By this time everyone who is going to play must be signed up. I plan to start the bracket no later than 3 pm. 6:00 to 7:00 pm the title game will be in this stretch at the latest, Hopefully by then we will have several people on hand to assist us taking equipment up the street to my house. It is my goal to have everything back to normal no later than 8:00 pm. Last year we finished around 6:30 pm and I suspect we can beat that time this year. 9:00 pm Post game celebration maybe. We'll see what is going on.
  19. Jersey shore tourney sounds awesome. You should talk to Brian Rausse and Matt Bird about joining www.northeasttecmo.com. I'm sure Brian can also get you more than a few names in the NYC area and from the other events on netecmo. I can say with some confidence if I have that weekend free Louis and myself are in. Also if any of you guys got the time I would love to have you up in Buffalo this May. http://www.northeasttecmo.com/contact-netsba/
  20. little preview of buffalo action. 8 guys rumbling at AJ's lounge in Cheektowaga http://challonge.com/buffalomeetup1
  21. In det i got the ideal that Reg's wife isn't the most keen on tecmo. But perhaps that big prize money changed her mind. I still am hoping to recruit the #1 player in the world up to Buffalo in May. As fo Lou and I we plan to get around more places next year. We are proud of being the Tecmo Road Dogs(as awarded at CubanTecmoV) as the biggest Tecmo road show and eventually we got to make Nebraska and one of the tourneys in the Louisanna/Texas region.
