  1. I give 100% credit to everyone who has done so much for the Tecmo Community, including Knobbe, jeid, bruddog, buck, and anyone else that I may have forgotten. The game has evolved so much over the last few years, and I owe you all a huge thank you! This particular rom, however was done by Drummer4god. He did such an unbelievable job with this rom, I just had to use this one for my own 2010 update. The gameplay on this one is so much fun, and has a great overal look and feel to it. The rosters have been updated, team and player sims I feel are quite accurate, and some attributes have been rerated. I also did away w/alot of the wildcat plays within each team's playbook, to make the sim more realistic. They indicate WR2/QB as the runner, when it's a RB, and not the former running the ball in the game. For the record, I really do enjoy those plays though, and encourage people playing to switch into them for gameplay. I'd love to play some TPC games w/this rom, as I could certainly use the practice with it (and the new playbooks, hacks, etc.). Thanks again to everyone, and let me know what you think. 2. Is there a link that shows who is in, and who is an alternate? I know I saw it within here before. I know a few have dropped out recently. Also, what is our tv, console, etc status? How many of all do we have. Like I said, I'm in for one bundle of the whole package, including tv, console, game, controllers, a/c cord, a/v wires. Note to everyone: Bring what you have!
  3. I had mentioned it a while back. I am coming from Chicago, so it's only about a 2 and a half hour drive, tops. Problem is, I think I already have a pretty full car. My girl and a friend are tagging along, to visit a friend that lives in Madison. Where are you coming from??
  4. Yah, that first one is totally Brett Favre! Great work bro!
  5. No, I told you like 2 or 3 days ago dummy. P.S. Holzy, can this place hold up to 100+ of us?
  6. Yes, there is. I obviously had versions of yours Buck, and just downloaded the newest playoff ones. They look great man! One last question, is there a 32 team rom out there w/no hacks, AND no new playbooks? I think all the 32 team roms, definitely seem to have the new playbooks.
  7. I appreciate all the input guys. I think I am really getting the motivation to actually finish one of these roms up now. It's just so much work - but I'm eager to get one out there for everyone. I think I like the thought of making every team playable - underrating some players, overrating others, but keeping all the original attributes as my sole basis. I'm not much of a hex guy (not at all), and more just a stat, attributes guy - so is there a 32 team rom out there with no hacks that you guys know of? I think there is, and I actually believe I do have it (I think it's yours Buck), but I just want to ensure that I have one or get one, cause that's what I think I would like to use. Thanks again for the input guys, as you've given me motivation to move forward with this project I hope to have one out by the NFL Draft, when interest will be on a bit more of a rise, considering it's the offseason.
  8. I've posted this on another topic forum, but I figured I should also throw it here. I haven't been around in a while, but I have never seen a rom quite like the way explained below. Please forgive me if there is one out there, and please send it to me! ...I've always had this idea to create a rom, based directly off of the original. Having players of today, taking the exact attributes, physical features (faces) as well perhaps, of players from the original. For example, Barry Sanders 38, 69, 69, 25, 69, 44 is Chris Johnson in today’s rom. Jerry Rice's 44, 69, 69, 13, 81, 81, is Andre Johnson of today. Bob Nelsons (accidental?) 69RP, is today's one of the Williams wall of the Vikings. Bob Nelson may be a bad example, as you would probably want a player with much more HP, but you get the idea. All 840 players’ ratings and attributes from the original is someone of today. You could even use the original base rom, keeping the same colors, and team logos, to really give that nostalgic feel to it. Or go with the 32 team rom, and the new logos, colors etc, adding duplicates of a few players, to compensate for the need of the added 4 teams. There have been so many unbelievably great innovations to the way TSB is played, and portrayed, but it seems like most roms have higher rated attributes of players. I have never come across a rom that really played like the original. I think most people are aware of what can be modified in this great game today, but for those that do not, and just for fun in general, why not run a side tournament with players of today, solely based on the original? I seem to never finish these projects however, so I would need alot of help in creating such a thing. I would really need quite a collaborative effort from several individuals, but would anyone care to partake in such a project with me? Below is a link to the file I had been working on during this past NFL season. I think I completely got through my rates of, QB, RB, WR. It may be somewhat confusing; especially some of the things I have toward the bottom of the page, but you'll get the general idea of where I was going with it. I am very open to constructive critism, so let me know how you feel about what I've got thus far. odell tsbproject0110.xls
  9. Was thinking the same thing kind of, heh, but it's a tournament, rather than a league. And also, w/the technology that we've all become used to, this tournament could actually be played right there, following the commencement of the draft - or online at a later date. I also think, that it may be an element that some of the tecmoers there, (and perhaps this media swoon, heh) were not aware of - what Tecmo, now can be, and what it has evolved into. I'm not married to the original rom players idea. It could be current too. heh. Perhaps, that would make the bigger impression. It was just a thought.
  10. I had an interesting idea for the tournament - an activity to conduct while not participating in games. We've all been in fantasy drafts right? Well, I think it might be cool to assemble an 8 round draft, while the tournament is going, with up to 28 online players, to conduct a roster for an upcoming online tournament - also with the original TSB. Positions would be grouped from each team in the original rom: QB, RB, WR, TE, OL/K/P, DL, LB, DB, consisting of the 8 rounds. Out of the roughly 80 players participating in the Madison tournament, I would imagine we could get enough interest to make this idea worthwhile. I bet we could actually make/and or order a customizable 'draft kit' w/tsb players, just like you do at your fantasy draft. I also think this might be another interesting aspect of this gathering for the media to cover. By no means do I have any intention of planning such a thing, considering I have no knowlege or skill when it comes to programming/websites, etc - but I thought I would just throw it out there as something fun to do while at the draft.
  11. That's pretty sweet. Being new, yet again, to the Tecmo scene - who is Adam Fairbanks? Would I know him from playing online?
  12. I can bring a console, game, controllers, and a tv if needed - So let me know! I too love the idea of having a few, possibly 4 to 8 guys having first round byes. Anything to get me there! hehe
  13. Expanding the tournament would be great. I believe you had told me that I stood 8th in line. That would make 72 players, and 18 groups of 4. They may be enough for yah! hehe I might just show up anyway. My girl, and a friend of hers are going to tag along for the ride, and visit a friend of theirs in Madison. So expanding would be great, but I would also be happy with possibly just taking someone's spot if they don't show up.
  14. How are the seedings going to work out? Or will they just be chosen at random?
  15. A little confusing, but I think that seems to have worked. Now to play online, do we both have to have the same version of Nestopia (1.39 v.s. 1.40 = no good)? What are differences in the two versions? Thanks for your help!
  16. Just getting back into playing tecmo online (not just yet, but persuing) and I have downloaded what seems to be popular among TPC players, Nestopia 1.40. One problem though for me: I can't seem to figure out how to get my MS Sidewinder gamepad to work on there. Any help would be appreciated! [email protected] on aim
  17. I want in! I also emailed [email protected]. I hope I can still get a spot! Who wants to carpool from Chicago? Get at me! [email protected]
  18. Yeah, that would be great if you could merge my old forum names! Thanks alot. As far as that site: definitely helpful to have all that info in one spot. Although, I couldn't really locate any older roms on there. The one that had a 2004 rom, and another rom from an old league, opened in tsb ultra emulator?? Couldn't download the rom however for play on nesticle, or fce ultra (my preferred emulators, I guess). Also, I have noticed alot of files, when downloading wherever (music, tecmo, etc), come in .rar format. What is that, and how can I get it to open? Sorry, I am such an annoying no nothing! haha
  19. I don't seem to have any of these any longer, and can't seem to find them online anywhere. I am working on a new 2010 rom of my own, based on all the original attributes of tsb91 nes. Each player now takes over the attributes of a player in the 91 rom (28 teams, Jacobs = Okoye, etc). I want to use the same team uni's for the most part, but would love to use the new helmets that were brought to us in the early to mid 2000's via this website, and others, etc. If someone has a rom from like 2004 or so, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton!
  20. Ah, perfect, thanks! Although, I did try just typing a name into the QB1 slot for the Ravens, and played a game to test it out, and it did make every single player on offense (for both teams) that player. Was that just because I typed in the name (without double clicking). And help is appreciated!
  21. Hey all. Back on the scene after playing online years ago, just checking out some of the newest innovations. I absolutely love the 32 team roms that have been put out over the past couple of years! Now I know you cannot use the tsbm2k with these roms, and I've downloaded the TSBToolSupreme. On one hand, I kind of like the simplicity of changing players names within the program, but it seems to me that you cannot do anything else as easily as you could with the old managers (tsbm, and tsbm2k). IE, changing the player faces, etc. With the old managers I think things were very simplified, and really dumbed down. Everything was really self-explanatory. TSBToolSupreme seems like write more like a hex program to me. Is there anything out there easier to manage??
  22. "but I'll bet Brady's never thrown an endzone-to-endzone rainbow touchdown pass (with about 20 seconds of hang time) to Irving Fryar, has he?" ...neither has Grogan though. We all know it goes out of the back of the endzone - everytime.
  23. ...and here is how I faired... Week 1: Jets Lose Cobb on a punt return early 2nd quarter, and defense holds off on last second Jets surge. Christie burries all 5 of his FG attempts, and D notched a safety late. Bucs 17 Jets 7 Week 2: Bears Haddix shows Harbaugh his middle finger 3 times, the last one during a late Bears rally. Bucs 15 Bears 10 Week 3: Packers An early 14-0 lead is erased, as Majkowski hits Sharpe w/ 2:51 left in the 4th to tie it up at 14, but then oddly enough the Majik man himself, despite the wishes of Packer coach, Lindy Infante decides to go for it on 4th from about their own 20. Bad decision Majik. Christie nails game winner with :53 left. Bucs 3 and O! Anderson got his first KR TD, and Haddix notched 2 safeties, one of them on a KR. Bucs 17 Packers 14 Week 4: Bills Thurmanater lives up to his name, and Cobb’s return from IR doesn’t show much, as the Bills thwart the Bucs. Bills 23 Bucs 6 Week 5: Lions The Lions rushing attack pounded the Bucs for 207 on the ground. Reggie Cobb continues to suck for the Bucs return game, and his lack of production proved to be the difference in this one. Down 23-3 at the half, the Bucs put together an 11-0 second half, but it was not enough, falling short of the mighty Lions. Rodney Peete is still running by my defenders I think. Bucs 3-2 Lions 23 Bucs 14 Week 6: Eagles Eagles run for 280, pass for 232! Fuck you Randall. Eagles 30 Bucs 6 Week 7: Bye Week, Bucs 3-3 – 2nd place NFC Central Week 8: Saints Jim Skow’s!! and so do the Bucs, in a ass kicking of New Orleans Bucs 33 Saints 9 Week 9: Packers With the Bucs down 20-15, Haddix safeties Woodside on run play 2, making it a 20-17 game. With just :34 to play, I’m hoping Jacke kicks it short so I can force it into overtime. He doesn’t as he kicks it long, and Haddix returns it to the TB 35 with :08 left to play. Being atleast 12 yards out of FG range, I am forced to punt and hoping Query will cough one up, and he does, as Anderson runs it in for the game winner. Bucs 24 Pack 20 Week 10: Vikings 21 fourth quarter points sends the Bucs packing. Bucs fall to 5-4, and now 1.5 games back of the Vikes. Vikings 28 Bucs 6 Week 11: Lions The rematch v.s. the Lions. Can I stop the Barry/Peete express. Peete hits RJ, 7-0. Cobb strikes back with his first TD return of the season to tie it at 7. Peete moonwalks his way in from 30 out to go up 14-7. Nice return by Cobb sets up a FG, 14-10. Peete fumbles on ensuing possession 14-13, Detroit. Bad Detroit possession, and punt in which Cobb returns to the 15, puts TB up 16-14 going into the half. 2nd half. The exact opposite. Eddie Murray bombs a long FG for the 17-16 Detroit victory. Bucs fall to 5-5. Lions 17 Bucs 16 Week 12: Falcons Nothing much to report here. Bucs 22 Falcons 0 Week 13: Giants OJ Anderson ties it up at 9 with a huge 80+ yard run as time expired to force OT. Fortunately the Bucs win the coin toss, and the now league leader in KR average (after a very shaky start) returns it to the 15, where Christie promptly nails the game winner. Bucs 12 Giants 9 Week 14: Dolphins Was tied at 13 all in the 3rd, until Marino got pissed, and throws 2 coverage TDs. Bucs playing the seasaw game, winning one, and losing one, and now stand at 7-6. Dolphins 27 Bucs 18 Week 15: Vikings You know things are going your way when you have two straight FG attempts blocked, recover them both, and then you bury the third one. Bucs earn their 2nd shutout of the season, and the Vikings come up with just 10 yards of total offense in this one, as the Bucs get revenge over the Vikings, and tie them for first place in the NFC Central at 8-6. Bucs 39 Vikings 0 Week 16: Bears I fail to realize that I need to stop Neal Anderson at some point, even with an excellent Haddix. Neal torches Bucs for 254 and 3 TDs. Bucs fall to 8-7, and in trouble for a playoff spot. Bears 21 Bucs 12 Week 17: Colts Sheer disappointment is all I am feeling at the moment, as my Bucs battled a seemingly powerless Colts squad, yet fall short of our playoff goal. Indy just simply nickel and dimed me to death, and not of the short pass variety, but the 3 yards a carry variety, as they carried the ball 21 times ( I believe an all-time cpu player high). Bucs finish up season at 8-8. Bucs Season Wrap-Up Finished a game out of the Playoffs at 8-8. Haddix led the league with 36 sacks, and finished second to Waymer in INTs with 10. Cobb led the league in KR avg, with 20.7, and just 1 TD (Gary Anderson also added a score.) Christie led the league in scoring with 203 points. It was most definitely fun. Anyone have any other ideas of seasons to play? I may play another one of these. I have to get these guys in the playoffs, if not the bowl even!
