  1. partyman, that interesting about the kickers. one thing i've always wondered about is how to decrease the distance of punts. i've decreased KA across the board but i'm still seeing 13 KA guys booming 65 yard punts. any ideas?
  2. i think the performance depended more on the slightly drunk human player. my buddy who shut me out seemed to think the controls were just fine.
  3. This is something i've wondered since i first joined this board. I know what it is, but what does it stand for?
  4. konForce, this question strays a bit from the topic but is there a way to change the boost that the defensive players are given? i noticed kingsoby mentioned that the value of final speed isn't known. Do the E0/E1/E2/E3 commands have any effect on whatever value is assigned to final speed?
  5. understood about the defensive players. but on offense is there a difference between a 44 RS 0 RP 44 MS guy and a 44 RS 100 RP 44 MS guy?
  6. That does make sense for the defensive players. What Randy Moss may have been referring to is offensive players with the same RS and MS. Is there a difference in performance between a 44 RS 0 RP 44 MS guy and a 44 RS 100 RP 44 MS guy?
  7. yeah my buddy has a modded xbox. i don't know which emulators are on there but he has games from atari2600 on through the N64. we've played edited versions of tecmo and it runs fine, but the control is not as tight with the xbox controllers.
  8. this thread should answer some of your questions. Accuracy of Passing link
  9. ok, at what offset are these pointers located?
  10. Did anybody ever find the pointers to the play images?
  11. Is there such a thing? If either of you have this do you think you could post a copy? I'd be interested in a tool like this.
  12. http://www.famssu.com/tecmo/tsbfaq.txt try scrolling down about halfway. under the team scouting reports.
  13. Thanks guys, i actually had the hex part figured out. what i was trying to figure out was a systematic way to determine who plays who and when. For example Michigan should play the following schedule: 2 vs. Oh St 2 vs. Iowa 2 vs. Wisconsin 2 vs. Purdue 1 vs. Pac 10 team 1 vs. Big XII team 1 game vs. 2 different teams from either ACC/Big East/SEC for a total of 12 games I have USC in the Pac 10/AFC Central so their schedule should be: 2 vs. Oregon 2 vs. Wash St. 2 vs. Wash 2 vs. Big 10 2 vs. Big XII 1 game vs. 2 different teams from either ACC/Big East/SEC I just started making a schedule by hand but came across the problem where i couldn't get the teams in 5 team divisions to play enough division games. Anyway, i'm gonna try a method that elway7 suggested to me and see how that works.
  14. i'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. i'm doing a ncaa rom and i'm trying to create a schedule for it. I set it up so that each division has teams from a single ncaa conference. i'm doing a 12 game schedule and was hoping to have some sort of balanced schedule. for example a team in the afc east/big 10 would play each team in its division twice for a total of 8 games. they would play one game against a team from the other two divisions and then two games against teams from the other conference making a total of 12 games. make sense? anyway i just tried to do it by hand and can't quite make it work out. does anyone have a decent method for creating a schedule other than trial and error?
  15. I think you would want to avoid doing something like this. say i wanted to take a bad notre dame team and build them up over 2-3 seasons. at this point they would have good players and this should be reflected in their sim performances. if they have a static sim code then the dynasty program would not truly be doing its job. I'm not sure what the best way to update the sim code would be. doesn't tsbm2000 have some feature where you can compare talent ratings for all the teams in a rom? maybe using this or something similar, you can update the sim code for a team once it's new roster has been set.
  16. hey cres, in this program, would you be able to set up the recruiting for all the teams or is this done automatically by the computer. also are you limited to recruiting with one team or can you do as many as you want? that was always something that annoyed me about the NCAA football series.
  17. Hey cres, did you ever figure out what all the values in the data files stood for? Just curious, but what are some of the guidelines you're using to determine player values? I'm guessing this is the crudest form of recruiting. I've always thought that would be one of the best parts of an NCAA tecmo if it could be implemented. Even a "simple" engine where the team with the best record gets the overall best replacement players on down to the worst would still be great. obviously when i say simple, i have no real concept of how complex the programming would have to be.
  18. does it really work to just kick it between the hash marks? i have to aim outside the hash marks especially when i'm lined up on one of them. my accuracy is pretty good but maybe my cart has always been screwed up in this way.
  19. It's strange the way they did field goals but it's pretty easy once you know how. For anything close, say within 30-35 yards, i aim the arrow where i want the ball to go. so if i'm lined up on the top hash mark, i'll kick when the arrow is towards the middle of the field. pretty easy. the weird one is when the field goal is about 40+ yards. at that point i think of the arrow as where the kickers foot will hit the ball. so again if i'm on the top hash mark, i'll kick when the arrow is towards the top sideline. this seems to push the ball in the right direction. Also you need to pay attention to what angle you're kicking at. depending on how long the field goal is and where you're lined up, you'll have to determine how far away from the ball the arrow should go. It's mostly a matter of getting a good feel for it. Oh and this is on the cartridge, i've never played III on an emulator. hope that helps.
  20. That's a pretty good list there. As a husky fan, I'd love to see you replace Oregon with Washington. Plus they have a national title to their credit and a natural rival in WSU.
