  1. Not a big deal, but I had a couple things happen during a season game. Had a 25 ms returner; he barely got to the ball on a full kick off. On a safety punt, he didn't get to the ball, but sucked it in. Checking his condition after the game he was bad, so may have been 19 ms at the time.
  2. The pro bowl isn't afc and nfc specific, it isn't even position specific (I think you could put a LB at QB, I didn't try it) 0x32853 is the afc 0x3288F is the nfc it goes team # player # example change 0000 (team 00 (bills) player 00 (qb bills) to 1800 for joe montana as the afc starter. teams are 00 bills, 01 colts ... 04 jets, 05 bengals ... 1B falcons players are 00-QB1, 01-QB2, 02-RB1 ... OC-Center ... 1B-SS, 1C-K I messed around with extending the text for afc and nfc. It is possible. There's 2 seperate text, one for the scoreboard and one for gameplay. Probably not for people new to editing. I don't know how to the change the KR/PR for the pro bowl. I'd imagine the formations could be changed by using 1C and 1D for the team #s.
  3. Is there a break point that can be set for sprite locations?
  4. have you read the faq you may not be saving/exporting correctly
  5. Yeah that was my point, but I shouldn't be chastising people at the same time because I don't want them to give up. It seems like myself, Jstout and JG (who doesn't seem to be around much anymore) are the only people that ever hack around here.
  6. 15 is the backround color. You only have to change the 1st bottom color to make it stick, doesn't really matter what the others are set at.
  7. I was playing around with this last night. I found the preseason and team control areas by searching for 0A03. The team control is at 328F3, if you haven't found it already.
  8. Thanks, I'll update that. I've never had any luck finding the main menu logo, as I think it uses sprites. I erased the main menu logo on my XFL hack. On Rose Bowl, I made the logo small enough to fit into the non mirrored tiles on the main menu, and went around that for the midfield.
  9. Midfield logo Other hacking documents I've been working on this doc for a while. Any feedback is appreciated.
  10. I'm sorry, Bo. I didn't mean for you to take anything personally. I should've realized that rants are never a good idea. I've edited down the site, and most of the links work now. Obviously, people like jstout, slim jimmy and cxrom seem more willing to help newbs than I am. My prerogative is if you can learn how to find something like the midfield logo on your own, than you can find other stuff like the nflpa logo, team nfl logos, NFL SUPER PRO FOOTBALL text, etc. and not have to ask people for hex locations constantly. I've been working on this site for a while, not just for you.
  11. http://www.grgsports.com/hacking1.htm This page is a work in progress. I'm gathering together some hacking docs and attempting to teach people hacking "tricks"
  12. you can either use this method http://www.romhacking.net/docs/ppu.txt or get the hex values from nesticle and search the same way you would with colors from the palette READ SOME HACKING DOCS its all there
  13. Yeah, I'm mainly referring to editting graphics in my response. But the point I'm trying to make is if someone is interested in hacking, read up on the newb documents (not found on this site) before asking for help. Besides the helmet editor, which is buggy, there are no programs that make editing TSB graphics easier.
  14. Rom hacking is really easy but requires a learning process to understand what is actually going on. The problem with most people is they don't start from the beginning doing the easy stuff, and instead want to jump in and do something more complicated, like the large or small helmets on tsb. They get all confused by the documentation, and then frustrated because it doesn't work the first or second attempt. If you know what you're doing, it doesn't take that long to throw something together.

    Tecmo Bowl 98

I'm writing up a document about how to find, rearrange, and assign new palettes to graphics. It will use an example of changing the midfield logo in TSB, and the method is basic in finding or adding graphics in any game. I have no problem posting locations for hard to find stuff, like playbooks or defenses (if found). But people should be able to find easy stuff like graphics on their own.

    Tecmo Bowl 98

There is a patch that comes with tecmo bowl manager that will change the endzones to nfl. There is an option to apply the patch in tbm also. It's pretty much impossible to give team's there own endzones because each endzone "shares" parts with other endzones. Even with nfl in each, there is a still a problem on LA's endzone. I posted in hacking documentation on how to change the playbooks. I was planning to look for other stuff on tecmo bowl, like defenses and endzone pointers, but I'm burnt out at the moment. I gave Arizona 3 DB's on purpose, supposed to resemble a nickle defense. Because they had shitty LBs, but good DBs in 98.
  17. I couldn't sleep, so I took a peak at the 1990 rom, and it's really an easy fix to get tbm to reconize the DB's. It's because their labeled S in the game and tbm only reconizes FS,SS or CB. So just use a hex editor to change their pos to one of those 3. The first one is at xF132.
  18. Original Tecmo Bowl Teams and rosters from the 1998 season. small logos from JG Games' TSB rom.
  19. For the attributes, if it was me I'd look at the hex locations of the attributes and compare the two roms if need be. Here's a nice file made by Rod before TBM was released. http://www.knobbe.org/downloads/docs/tbratings.txt The grey team thing is really just a glitch, and it just changes the palettes of teams already in the game. This password generator lets you be grey ind, mia, cle or den.
  20. For the original Tecmo Bowl!! HUGE thanks to Jstuout for helping me find this. To change individual plays: Each play is made up of 8 bytes. The first 2 bytes change the play and the last 6 are most likely the blitz bytes. I just replaced all 8 and it worked perfect. You can put any play in any slot. Indianapolis x18010 Play 1: 02 00, 02 55, 02 5B, 02 5B Play 2: 02 53, 02 01, 02 5C, 02 5C Play 3: 02 02, 02 1A, 02 1C, 02 1B Play 4: 02 0F, 02 03, 02 1D, 02 1F Miami x18030 0304 0362 0304 0304 0305 0322 033C 0321 0306 0323 0325 0324 0507 0526 0527 0528 Cleveland x18050 0200 0255 025B 025B 0253 0201 025C 025C 0208 022A 022B 0229 022C 0209 022D 022E Denver x18070 030A 0357 0360 0360 0355 0300 035B 035B 0303 032F 031F 031D 0531 050B 0532 0533 Seattle x18090 030A 0357 0360 0360 0355 0300 035B 035B 0303 032F 031F 031D 0336 030C 0337 0338 LA x180B0 040D 0458 0461 0461 040E 040E 040E 040E 0463 041E 043B 0420 0439 0410 043A 043B Wash x180D0 0200 0255 025B 025B 0211 0211 0211 0211 0205 023D 0222 0221 023E 0213 023F 0240 SF x180F0 035B 035B 035B 035B 0303 031F 031D 0334 0308 0329 032B 032A 0512 0541 0542 0543 Dal x18110 0314 0354 035D 035D 0359 0315 035F 035F 0306 0344 0325 0345 0546 0516 0547 0548 NY x18130 0314 0354 035D 035D 0359 0315 035F 035F 0305 033C 0322 0321 032C 0309 032D 032E Chi x18150 030A 0357 0360 0360 0359 0315 035F 035F 0317 0349 034B 034A 034C 0318 034D 034E Min x18170 020A 0257 0260 0260 0219 0219 0219 0219 0213 024F 0240 023F 022A 0208 0229 022B Playbook Pics Unfortunaltely, the picture does not change with the play. You'll have to do that manually, it's VERY easy, just copying and pasting with a good hex editor like hex workshop. The pictures are in perfect order: IND run 1, run 2, pass 1, pass 2, MIA run 1, pass 1, pass 2, pass 3, CLE, etc. Each picture has 62 bytes. You don't want to change the last 4 bytes on any play, as this tells the game which slot to use. You can tell the begging and end of a play by 2060616263 is run 1, 2060616264 is run 2, 5C5D5E5F63 is pass 1, 5C5D5E5F64 is pass 2, 5C5D5E5F65 is pass 3 (these make up the text for run 1 pass 1, etc. so change 63,64,65 for 1,2,3). IND x890C MIA x8A04 CLE x8AFC DEN x8BF4 SEA x8CEC LA x8DE4 WAS x8EDC SF x8FD4 DAL x90CC NY x91C4 CHI x92BC MIN x93B4 The next section immediatly after the playbooks, x18190, may have to do with individual routes and such. the defense "routes" are also affected. Have fun.
  21. depends on what rom your patching. works fine on a rom with the original big and small helmets.
  22. You're a newbie to hacking. Not too many people are interested in holding your hand and walking you through it. good newbie documents are "hacking your way to superstardom with nesticle" and "the art of rom hacking"
  23. I made 2 patches. The first one will update the helmets for the original 28 teams. (May be obsolete if cxrom succeeds in adding teams) The other one will change the 4 WR to a 2 TE formation. If you use these, all I ask is to leave the "helmets/formations by grg" in the intro. These wouldn't be possible without Jstout's posts. tsbhelms.zip tsbform.zip
