  1. "Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got, I'm still-I'm still" (Vikings RB) Fenney "From the Block." Long, but beautiful.
  2. Obviously I'm a little biased and would pick Fulcher over anyone else. I liked the description of how he was LT with interceptions. Not only are his numbers great, but with Fulcher you can get hot and get a special connection where you can actually call his interceptions. He has single-handedly dominated a MAN 49ers team for me, and you only have to press B once to get to him (always a plus...I'm lazy). However, you're exactly right about Ronnie Lott. I pee my pants when I see that guy.
  3. I forgot to mention the Shotgun XY Bomb (I always just called it the "Booty Bomb" for some reason...) with the Bills, and that pitch to the top of the screen on Run3 with the Jets. And the play where the receiver catches everything no matter what? That's always associated with the F#$%&* 49ers. Jerks.
  4. That is QUITE impressive. I can't believe you missed Willie Gault, though. Man, that guy ALWAYS tears me up. As for associating plays with teams, I've always associated the quintuple-reverse-flea-flicker with the Cards, as well as associating that play where all the receivers run curl routes with the Dolphins (as well as the run up the gut on run2). What are some others everyone else has?
  5. I think the amount of Tecmo being played in a certain amount of time is inversely proportional to the amount of attention from women. Sometimes Tecmo falls out of favor, but it is never "boring" or "uncool." Saying playing online makes it exciting again is like saying sex was at one time boring or unexciting until you added something new and spicy. But I agree, we need to have a rope ready.
  6. I would defend against QB Eagles by using a superfast DB, either Fulcher or Lott. That way you can use their speed to stop his scrambling, and you can usually count on at least one INT if they're in good or excellent condition. Now, as for a top six, I think they can be. It all depends on which Eagles want to show up that day. Is it the unstopable Reggie White, or the one who get's bounced by everyone? Is it accurate QB Eagles, or the one who overthrows wide open receivers by 10 yards? If the Eagles D is functioning and Keith Jackson is catching everything, they're pretty amazing.
  7. My Raider opponents always hurt me with freaking Golic. Long sucks, but Golic in excellent can be my kryptonite.
  8. That truly is amazing. You've reached Tecmo Enlightenment. You are a Tecmo Buddha. (Is that higher than Site Administrator?) Those of you whose brothers hate Tecmo: don't buy them anything for Christmas. They obviously aren't good brothers. I wish MY brother had enough attention span to play a whole season. You have not only the greatest brother of all time, but also your Tecmo Soulmate. Count your blessings, my friend.
  9. Unfortunately, this is true. Thurman Thomas always gets hurt for me too. (But the minute you see them running out of the hospital....whoo there's no better feeling in the world. Those of you who have seen your own children born would agree, I assume?)
  10. It depends on what conditions your defensive players are in, in my book. Obviously if Lott or Fulcher is in excellent, and the offense is bearable, you go with that. I've always thought Houston had an EXTREMELY weak D, so be prepared for a shootout. On offense, the Bears and Giants are a good choice. Dave Meggett and Ottis Anderson can eat that defense ALIVE, and the Bears are okay. If you're a defensive machine, go with the Bears or Steelers. Rod Woodson is amazing. What are your thoughts on the Eagles D? Sometimes they are amazing, but other times they are extremely ineffective for me. What gives?
  11. Gary Reasons (came up with a HUGE pick for me today in a MAN vs. MAN battle, saved the game), Carl Zander, Mike Golic, and Darryl Talley on D. On O, I'd have to go with Don Beebe, Keith Byars, and Art Monk. (Okay, he's pretty good, but his name is Art Monk!)
  12. Actually, I sometimes use the nose tackle dive, but it's VERY rare. Most of the time I use Reggie White, Bruce Smith, LT, or Fulcher. I'm never really a team with a great NT, unless I'm messing around against the COM. I always thought it was just part of the game, much like Jerry Rice making INSANE catches (made three against me today, that bastard) or Grogan throwing his Moon Ball. Another question...there is a play, you know, the duplicate play on both run1 and run2, where Bo can freaking dominate? Well, there's a way to stop that play every time, and it isn't by using the NT dive, but a modified DE dive. Is that ethical? Because I always do this, and it used to be the bread-and-butter play for my MAN opponents, but now they don't even have it in their playbook. Only default plays? This guy's freaking hardcore. That's the way to stay true, brotha. (And I don't think the Bengals are necessarily BETTER than the 49ers, but I think they're a pretty darned good team, and they are often overlooked...I'm just passionate...)
  13. NICK LOWERY! (sp? never use the chiefs) THAT GUY! I've never actually seen it, but both of my brothers (chiefs fans and frequent users) say that when a field goal is blocked and Nick Lowery picks it up, he has AMAZING running speed, and is faster than any player in the game. Supposedly, he can run circles around all the other players (sort of like in John Elway football on the reverse. anyone know what i'm talking about?), and he gets six every time. Is there any truth to this, and if so, who can explain it? (my guess is that the government is somehow behind it.)
  14. Okay, obviously Bad Moon Rison is the leader of the fundamentalist right-wing Tecmo believers, so let's just put the zigzagging thing aside. He said he was probably the only one opposed to it on the boards, and I'm pretty sure he's right. (But he TOTALLY does it against COM! You can tell! He tries to act all high and mighty, but I think he has a dirty little secret...feel free to come out on this issue, Bad Moon Rison. We don't judge.) I don't think onside kicks are a problem, but I hate those mother f-ing Steelers. Why is it that Anderson is SO AMAZING when it comes to those?! When my brother uses the Steelers, he'll get one a game! Boo to that. What plays do you guys use? Because I'm pretty sure I've created the perfect Tecmo offense...but that's just me.
  15. I was just wondering as to some of your Tecmo strategies, and what you guys think is unethical. I, for instance, have no problem with people using the nose tackle to dive over and over. I never actually do this (I usually use Fulcher, LT, or good ol' Bruce Smith), but I think a player should have to work around this. Yet on the site it says it's a little unethical...the debate will rage on for centuries, I guess. Also, what plays are your favorites? I of course LOVE the Pro T Flare D, and I like the Redgun Z slant just because it's fun. I don't know the names of the others, but on B and up I use the play with about a billion receivers (passing it to a wide open James Lofton or Andre Reed), and on B and right I use the shotgun play, where two guys go DEEP (Bavaro or Holman), and two guys are in the middle. Runningwise, I use many. My bread-and-butter on the run is the toss sweep to Meggett with A and up, or the sweep with Ottis (you down with O-t-t?) with A and right. Sorry I dont know the names, but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Your thoughts on this?
