  1. Yes. This is very valuable resource for any tecmo editor indeed. Thanks for this great informitive controbution, Sblueman, many of us apprieciate you taking the time to write all that up
  2. cool download... I'll be checking it out!
  3. Ditto to that. And those drops to the TE on a blitz are just that sweat! I guarentee that you could take a player with poor receptions (like 19 or something), put them at tight end, and toss to them in this formation 7-10 times a game and they'd easily lead the league in receptions.... thats how tight this play is for the tight end. I also like the left (top) route, the out to the end zone, you occasionaly get to take advantage of a blown coverage opertunity here.
  4. I'd say that the Bengals are definately a top-tier team. Fulcher is all you need on Defense (and if you must use a linebacker, Francis is more than adequite). On Offense, Holman is a pro-bowl tight-end, Boomer an above-average QB, James Brookes, an above average RB, as well as a decent special teams, and no glaring weak points. I certainly do not have trouble winning games with this team and would rank them somewhere in the top 5 of the AFC.
  5. Lansdale area, so also Montgomery County area. HA! My old dentist is out there. Brookwood dental on Cowpath Road. Yes, I can remember Dr. McRoberts and his grip of death. HAHA... not farmiliar with that dentist, but I'm certainly farmiliar with cowpath road
  6. I'm actually not surprised. I think I saw a team (I'm not sure which) actually win its division at 7-9 also. It was probably one of the teams in one of the four-team divisons (AFC central/ NFC west)... I've also gotten a situation (AFC west) in which ALL the teams in the divison made the play-offs (One champ and the three wild card spots)
  7. True. Not to be too redundant, but I think that some of the Bills backups got a raw deal. Metzalaars and Bebbe were solid players as was Davis as a back up. As for an all-round balanced team (just to play devils's advocate and not say 49's) I'd say the Giants. Its been years since I've played a session with them, but I've had massive success with them in running passing and defense... there backups aren't the greatest, but they still remain strong even if a key player goes down... they definately are in teh running with the 49er's when it comes to all-round balance.
  8. Well this topic seems to be a decent place to make this post... I've been lurking on this board for too long now, as a self proclaimed tecmo junkie... I take my username from my gamefaqs user name, as I drop by and post on those tecmo boards on occassion, though I doubt anyone of the gamefaqs regulars remember any of my errent posts... Anyway, i must congradulate the maintainers of this site and these boards, as this is the best hot bed for tecmo discussions on the net! I once tried to issue an experiment to see what was the farthest possible FG in TSB (with an edited kicker of course)... my results were inconclusive (due to my own personal sloppiness), though I might try reviving it someday... Anyway, I live in southern PA and I've been an Eagles fan all my life, so while posting here I'll try not to be "too" much of an eagle's fanboy... I happened to luck out with tecmo super bowl, with the ever so studdly QB Eagles representing my home team Anyway, I can remember back in the dayz of way back, when I would get done football practice (as a middle linebacker and later, a nose tackle) and go home, clock in hours of time playing tecmo and living out my dreams vicariously through the best sports game ever made. I've beaten the game with every team at one point in time, but recently I've been more of an editor man myself... using TSBm 2000 and other programs to make my own personal edits (though balancing them can be a bit difficult at times) never anything serious though (as I've never released a patch, I've always focused on my own personaly football fantasy situations)... However reading the posts on this board has revived my intrest in the purity of the original game... I miss the toils of trying to win the superbowl with the patriots and the original joys I had playing this game, before I went editor crazy . Anyway, I'm glad that I finally regestered an account here. I've enjoyed reading various topics so far, and I hope to contribute to them in the future.
  9. I've actually noticed that often times (on my cart) the eagles don't make the play-offs that often (kind of 50/50 chance)... you definately raise a good point. It seems like the patriots constantly get shafted, I've only seen them make the play-offs on their own accord on very rare occassions.
