Bad Moon Rison reacted to TecSpectre in NFTGL RETURNS 10/22/21 @10am - 10/24/21
The NFTGL will return for season 23 on October 22nd at 10am.

We will be streaming mostly non-stop until Sunday around 5pm.

Playoffs are expected to start around 1pm on Sunday the 24th, so turn us on next to your football games and mute those stupid commentators.

Bad Moon Rison got a reaction from ULTMMA in Tecmo Super Bowl SNES RB ratings
I used to know the difference between Pass Control and Pass Accuracy. I believe one controls the path of the ball, the other the probability of it being caught if on target.

Ball control does factor in. Quickness, just like the NES version, does nothing.

That makes sense with sim data. Get mostly all over the place regular season results + curious how injuries play a factoring when you sim a season.

PIT and KC seem to be either worst or first in their respective divisions whenever I play. SD might just  be on a lucky hot streak here

After Christian Okoye’s Jersey Cup announcement we thought it would be a good time to have a sneak peek of 2 of this years door prizes, an autographed jersey and a “Nigerian Nightmare on Elm Street” framed print!

Bad Moon Rison reacted to Knobbe in Art Monk not in TSB SNES
Recently brought to my attention that Monk isn't in this game though he clearly was a member of the Redskins in 1993.
When I looked at TSB II I noticed that he's listed in that game as WR Redskins (and WR Jets for the 94 season)  This tells me that he was one of the players that wasn't apart of the NFLPA likeness agreement and that's why he's not in this game.

Instead of making him "WR Redskins" Tecmo decided to put in Carl Harry, the brother of Emile Harry. Carl appeared in two games for the Redskins in 1989 and 1992, never caught a pass. He is noted as one of the best WR in Utah history and happened to be part of a class action lawsuit that saw the NFL underpaying "developmental" players and paved the way for the modern practice squads still used today.

Thanks to all who came out to participate this year and thanks to all who watched the tournament on this year's stream!  Congrats to Kevin @tadaos for winning his second NY Tecmo title in three years! This is only the second time we have ever had a repeat Champion, @MattyD being the first in 2013 & 2014.

    The top finishers were:

    1) Kevin S (tadaos)
    2) Leif P (@Nameless Loser)
    3) Erik M (@arncoem)
    4) Matt D (Matty D)

You can see the official results for the day here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pbDN3izYb_KmQZhWtn4AUB31JR6bD41MRAq2PitYwHc/edit#gid=1113694182

Rounding out the top eight were Danny K (@knightsof3), Greg L (@Deviled Greg), Scott S,  and Josh N.  Four different players finished in the top 8 this year from last year!  The raffle prize winners were Tom C (twice), Matt A, Greg L, and last year's champ Dave H (@Ranatoro). Other T-Borg members in attendance were: @deadfaulkner, @dwightstone, @PatrickB1008, @Thrash @discdolo @Barletti.  Special thanks again to Ryan @hoigaard, Patrick, Matt, Erik, and Greg for all the extra work they put into making the tournament happen.

Another big time Championship matchup with Bills-Giants this year. Congrats to Leif for making his first ever final after years of very excellent play! Overall, this was a very competitive tournament from top to bottom.  Thank you all again for making Tecmo even better!

Be sure to sign up for CT Tecmo XI             and Bronx Bowl 2020 for more hot Tecmo action!

What's up @Paul Street!!!  I was just thinking of you guys the other day when I was looking at past New York Tourney records.  I don't think I'll ever forget your Mort upset in group play.  Good to see you guys are still playing on the regular!  How did last weekend go?

Your monster weekend seasons remind me of NFTGL, a bunch of guys who play Tecmo 3 and spend the whole weekend playing out their games sleep deprived: http://www.nftgl.com/  What you guys do seems crazy and I know personally I would need to split it up.  I've tried some variation of doing a full season on one cart with a few guys, but haven't gotten past week two.

One question: When you guys select your team, do most of the games end up being MAN vs. COM matchups?

Thanks to all who came out to the Long Island Retro Tournament!  This is the third year that we've had a tournament at the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the 4th year at the Expo!  The top finishers for the tournament are:

    1) Matty D
    2) Brett F
    3) Pat H

Scott S, Danny K, and Bill M all made the quarters. Brett F., finishing second, was the best performing newcomer, so he'll get free admission to the New York Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament on October 19th.

Special thanks to George, Chris, and Joel at LI Retro allowing us to do this for the past four years.  The finals were exciting and the Pat H victory over Matty D in OT was especially nailbiting. Special props to Pat H for taking both his teams (CLE, ATL) to the semi-finals.

You can check out photos here: https://www.facebook.com/NYTecmo/

Thanks again to the NHL 94 crew for sharing this experience with us and helping out when we needed it. Special thanks to NHL 94 guru John for participating in his first Tecmo tournament (!), and my personal friend John and his son for helping set up and break down.

On a personal note, this was the first time I didn't play in a tournament I have run. It was definitely a different experience, but still had a lot of fun.  I played in NHL 94 again and finished in the top 8.  Every NHL94 tournament I have ever played I have finished in the top 8, but no better, no worse.

As for people curious about the format, we had 16 participants (8 of whom were new) where each person drafted two teams, one AFC and one NFC. The new guys all drafted first with the veterans drafting in descending order based on tournament experience and success.  Since there are only 28 teams, a few teams (HOU, RAI, GIA, PHI) were allowed to be drafted twice.
