  1. Firefox can't find a plugin to make it work.
  2. [video width=400 height=350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8cHiOhyFFc How great would this be.....
  3. Wow....this is eye candy! Amazing edit, one of the best overall in the collection of edited roms. GRG, hats off to you!
  4. Good idea. That way people have an idea what the game is all about.
  5. The majority of ACTIVE members probably are in online leagues while the majority of overall REGISTERED members are not. And no, just because you have time for MAN vs COM games does not mean you have time for MAN vs MAN league games. I am one of those people. I can't join a league because of the other things I do like run a website and online radio station. Playing an online game vs someone would leech my bandwidth. There is a difference between the vocal majority and the inactive majority here.
  6. 11-8 is hardly 50% of the board. I expected the number to be more in the direction that you wanted this to go since the majority of people here are in online leagues. I think the numbers would be surprising if you really got each registered member to vote. A fraction of the people here belong to any online leagues or have time to give them. For many, MAN vs COM is all they have time for.
  7. Ah ok. Hopefully he's not as sandy as others are around here.
  8. Well if someone has advertised it, we can find out who and where by asking Rod to check out the hits into the site and where they are coming from.
  9. I remember someone posting once (can't remember who) that they were working on being able to setup a 4-3 defense in the NES version. Any work about progress on this?
  10. When was the last time you backed up the site and it's files?
  11. So far it's 50/50....surprising when people who play in online leagues seem to be the only voice of Tecmo fans these days. I think something has to be said for the number of people that have registered here out of interest for the game and do not post much if at all. It would be great to get the entire membership to vote on this. I think the fans of the league-style roms would be surprised by the results.
  12. I think it all depends on what kind of site you want to run. Want a no holds barred site where anything goes? Then let it go on. Want a site where only constructive criticism is given? Then PM the people who are trashing the rom and tell them to lay off. I run my own NFL discussion community and the one thing I learned is that you are never going to make everyone on the site happy. The only thing you can do is deliver to people what your vision of the site is. So the question really should be...what do you want this site to be?

  14. Here's my take on this... Remember some of the things that made Tecmo fun? It was Christian Okoye plastering everyone on defense. It was Bo Jackson smoking crack and you trying to find ways not to let him ass-rape your defense late in the year. It was David Fulcher flying all over the place and dominating. It was Warren Moon still completing passes when the play was called. It was finding out Bob Nelson was a Tecmo God even though he stunk it up in real life. It was Rod Woodson terrorizing QB's by picking off anything thrown his way. The game had character. That is what made the game what it was to me. Now I see these roms where every team has RB's at 38rs and 44ms and to me? To me they are boring. But if someone else enjoys them? Then have fun with them. I understand how there are different strokes for different folks and that's fine. But the problem I see with the culture of this site is that it's become a place where a handful of people are trying to dictate what is the law when it comes to editing roms. Someone want to soup up all the players and make a super hard game? Let them, some people like that. I got out of editing roms simply because of the negative attitude around here and the disrespect shown to people who tried to put together what their vision of the game was. Will I like every game that's out there? No. But when someone tries to dictate to me how I should edit my game and how I am a moron for doing it any other way but their way? I have a problem. I'll admit, I never joined an online Tecmo league and won't ever either. I don't have the time or bandwidth to play games online with the other things I do online. So my edits aren't league worthy? That's fine, don't download it then. But to call me a moron because it's not to your standards? Is pretty close-minded in my opinion. Now as far as kingsoby goes, he goes above and beyond what I just described. He puts out roms that are all for man vs man ratings only, promises a bunch of edits and many of them he's yet to deliver on, releases incomplete roms with no graphical edits, player face edits or sim editing at all. Then he goes and offers no constructive criticism at all with anyone's else's edits. It's as if if it's not made as to his vision it's utter crap. Then to top it off he's made a mod at this site and anytime anyone calls him out for his comments he's the first to lock and delete comments. I never had anything bad to say about him or his roms until he felt the need to bad-mouth a project I worked on for about a year without me ever saying a thing about him on any level. This guy has become a cancer to the site and it boggles the mind that he's a mod here. Want to know what others are saying? Here's some comments I have gotten (I won't mention who said this but the comments speak for themselves): I remember back when I first found out about even being able to play Tecmo on my PC. I found Tecmo Super Bowl Heaven, then the 1998 Rose Bowl classic edit. It blew my mind that you could actually hack up your own version. We have seen some amazing breakthroughs in editing the game, from Tecmo Super Bowl Ultra, to the Tecmo Sim Editor, to the recent TSBTool which has unlocked alot of previously unknown secrets that people who don't know much about hex editing can use. All these things have one thing in common, it's allowing people to put together their own versions of a game they love. I hate when I see a select few stifling people and discouraging progress because they are suffocating the rest of the community with their narrow vision.
  15. You're criticizing Konforce here, not me... default skin color in a .tsb file made from scratch is white, and this also eliminates the 'race-bug' in defenses being able to read formations based on player race (which is really fucking stupid). No I am actually criticizing you for your half-assed incomplete rom hacks that you try to pass off as the greatest thing since the game originally came out. Let the countdown begin....when will kingsoby flex his mod powers and start locking and deleting threads again?
  16. Indeed it was.....I downloaded the latst version and am a happy camper now.
  17. Any feedback from anyone other than someone who makes roms Adolf Hitler would be proud of?
  18. When I test the custom roms I put together I run a bunch of simulated seasons. Here's what I do: I first open the game with NESten 0.6 Epitaph...then I set all the teams to SKP.....set the video sync to "no sync" and the skip to "9".....then I run a bunch of seasons like that to see how the sim code is working out and keep adjusting it until I get the results I want. Then I do the same thing but this time set all the teams to COM, then set the Autofire speed on my controller to "1" and then let a COM vs COM season play out super fast and check out the results. Then I go back and adjust things like playbooks, formations and the sim code until I get the results I want. The new run/pass ratio find is a HUGE help and has cut down on alot of work. So anyone else do this?
  19. Heh, cool. I love the 70's roms. I started with just fixing some of the player skin colors and it kinda took off from there. I have been tinkering with the sim code all weekend.
  20. Working on editing the '77 rom by Denny, Elway7 & Jstout and I am confused....for some reason it re-arranged the schedule and I don't know where exactly to change the run/pass ratio. Do I just add the 01, 02 or 03 at the end of the team sim info?
  21. Anyone interested in taking up where I left off?
  22. The NFL Shield was not in the original rom and the large helmets were a mess so I removed them. Again, this is not a finished project, all that is up to date is the rosters for the 2005 season. I am not going to be updating this any further so if anyone wants to take it up where I left off they are more than welcome to.
