  1. Wow, nice work @War6! I had a hard time with just the NES version and the numbers in the Washington helmet last year, no idea how you all do the large helmets. I am not even at the 101 level when it comes to editing helmets.
  2. The 2022 season is right around the corner and the major change this year when it comes to helmets is the change to Washington. @COA Elwayposted up a screenshot for an edited large helmet logo for them he put together quickly: Can this be updated on the 32-team BASE rom? There's another issue with the team update. If you try to edit Washington to the "WASHINGTON COMMANDERS" it ends up all messed up on the team: I was wondering if the trick @bruddogposted here could fix this, but it seems the files are now unavailable: So... would having the "WASHINGTON COMMANDERS" be possible or will Tecmo fans be stuck with a neutered "WASH. COMMANDERS" as a compromise? I am attaching a copy of the 2021 32-team base rom if there's anyone who has some helmet editing skills that can help. Unfortunately, editing helmets is a little too over my head. The previous helmet with the numbers was one thing, this new logo is a different league of editing. 3. @Maceo Hopkins, I would suggest a NES Flash Cart, simple to use with original hardware. Check these out: EverDrive / Flash - NES - Cartridges - Stone Age Gamer PowerPak - retroUSB
  4. Hi @Maceo Hopkins, are you new to emulation? You will want to open the .nes file with an emulator. Here are some to try out: Downloads (fceux.com) Mesen / Mesen-S

  6. Thank you for the feedback @Kiwi_TB, glad to hear you are enjoying the edit! Let me answer some of your questions: The run game feeling so strong is most likely due to the juice edit in-game. Those guys become jackhammers sometimes when the juice is amped up. This is the code I use in the game: SET(0x1DF10, 0x0202020303) SET(0x1DF15, 0x0202020403) SET(0x1DF1A, 0x0202020403) SET(0x1DF1F, 0x0202020404) SET(0x1DF24, 0x0202020404) SET(0x1DF29, 0x0202020504) SET(0x1DF2E, 0x0202020504) SET(0x1DF33, 0x0202020504) SET(0x1DF38, 0x0202030505) SET(0x1DF3D, 0x0202030605) SET(0x1DF42, 0x0202040606) SET(0x1DF47, 0x0202040706) SET(0x1DF4C, 0x0203040707) SET(0x1DF51, 0x0203050807) SET(0x1DF56, 0x0203050808) SET(0x1DF5B, 0x0203050908) SET(0x1DF60, 0x0204060909) The original spreadsheet for this hack can be found here: You can use the spreadsheet there to play around with the code you'd like to install on a rom with TSBTool. You can edit the values in the DEF Speed, OFF Speed, INT, Pass Control & Reception field to generate a set command you can copy and paste into TSB Tool. There's no limit to the combinations one can plug in to get the right "feel" for them. As for having a hack installed that affects quickness, unfortunately the answer is no there isn't one....although it's not that I wouldn't love to use one. The quickness for pass incompletions hack clashes with numerous other hacks that I find more beneficial and the defensive pursuit based on quickness hack (which I'd love to use) has glitches as well. What I tried to do was find hacks that work well together while not crashing the game. Some of the codes overlap between different hacks and when that happens it causes havoc, sometimes even making the game unplayable. Now there might be ways to get the hacks to actually work but the reality is I am no coder, I'm more of an archivist. All of the hacks used in the game were written by others who put in countless hours figuring out the code to change to change how the game plays. I'm just using what they have shared over the years. But is it possible to edit the code so they work together? Honestly, I don't know. Not to say it's not possible, there might be a way. I have seen others talk about editing code moving code to other spots to not conflict with other hacks but all that is honestly beyond my skills. But if you ever feel like you'd like to tinker with the game some and see what you can change I did upload a zip file with the patches I used as well as text files with the set commands I used. You can use them to maybe develop a set that works for what you'd find works for your tastes.

  12. I am working on a NCAA update (using @fatcheerleader's former release as a base) since I didn't see one up and am using the CBS Sports top 32 team from their rankings before bowl games were played: College Football Rankings 2021 - CBS Sports Ranking - CBSSports.com (archive.org) The game will have a 13-game regular season schedule for all teams. Teams from the AFC side won't play any games vs the NFC side in regular season play. Rosters, playbooks and the sim codes are all updated. I am just working on fine tuning the schedule, team uniform usage in matchups. I edited the rankings on the mini helmets to reflect the team's rankings before the bowl games. So far this is the lineup I have cobbled together from the 32 teams: Some notes: 1. Divisions are setup as (in order from AFC East to NFC West): SEC, ACC, Independents, AAC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12 and Misc. 2. #25 Texas A&M was placed in the Big 12 3. #26 Kentucky & #30 Penn State were added to the Independents 4. #21 UTSA & #28 Coastal Carolina were added to the AAC 5. #27 San Diego State and #29 Utah State were added to the Pac 12 6. The NFC West has a mix of teams to round out the top 32 in the CBS rankings. The one team messing me up is Penn State. I want to add them to the NFC side, but who would I swap them out with? Or are they ok where they are? I was thinking of swapping them out with Texas A&M so they could have scheduled games against teams from the SEC and Big 10 respectively. But IMO Texas A&M also makes sense in the Big 12 because they used to be in that conference. So college football fans, any feedback on the divisional lineups? Let me know.

  14. Hard to say. You'd first need to find out what hacks @Pacnsacdave included in his game. The hacks might be getting overwritten when you save with TSB Tool, causing a crash. Sounds like it's a similar issue you'd find if you try to edit the official tb.org yearly NFL release or @Tecmonster's release.
  15. Not well due to the hacks installed in the game. If you are looking on editing a 2021 rom I would suggest either Goji's base hack or my vanilla hack. Those can be overwritten by TSBTool without issues since they have minimal or no hacks installed that TSBTool will overwrite.

  17. Wow, it works! Thank you for the work @buck! I'll add this to the set command thread: #4th Qtr COM Punt Logic Fix #https://tecmobowl.org/forums/topic/71605-how-can-you-edit-logic-so-com-doesnt-go-for-it-on-4th-down-in-a-tie-when-inside-their-own-end-of-the-field/?do=findComment&comment=510430 SET(0x18808, 0xF035) One step closer to making the COM less idiotic. Gotta love it.
  18. First off, welcome back @buck. I have gained so much knowledge from posts you shared over the years, good to see you back around. I had a question a while back on the COM logic: How can you edit logic so COM doesn't go for it on 4th down in a tie when inside their own end of the field? - ROM Editing Discussion - TBORG (tecmobowl.org)
  19. If it doesn't total 255 for each column then the strong safety gets all the extra points given and they end up with crazy stats.
  20. You need to make sure the sim values for pass rush and coverage equals 255, here's an example: PR: PC: RE: Chris Canty 18 6 NT: Jay Ratliff 34 7 LE: Marcus Spears 10 6 ROLB: Greg Ellis 52 12 RILB/DT: Zach Thomas 13 17 LILB: Bradie James 16 9 LOLB: Demarcus Ware 92 9 RCB: Terence Newman 3 62 LCB: Anthony Henry 2 54 FS: Ken Hamlin 7 36 SS: Roy Williams 8 37 255 255
