I guess I never read past the first post.  Any hoot, I've put your notes and demos up on Github, @jstout about 4 years ago.  Got around to cleaning up my mess the past couple of days.  If it's not ok to have it there publically, let me know and I'll make it the repo private.  I made the repo as a reference for myself but thought I'd share with others.

Tecmo Super Bowl is the greatest sports video game of all time. Now, 30 years after TSB made 8-Bit legends of Bo Jackson and Lawrence Taylor, TecmoBowl.org proudly announces the belated release of Tecmo Super Bowl 2022. Check Defense condition - In the same location as the time out menu there is now a "CHECK DEF" option which lets you scroll left and right through your players 32-Team ROM Rosters current as of noon CST on 9/8/2021 Adjustable quarter length Playbook editing in-game Player 2 attributes now display correctly Halftime stats Pass Control determines if a pass will be completed. Passing Accuracy determines if the ball will be on target. Schedule reset wont' randomize order (Thursday game should always be first, Monday night last) Schedule is only 16 games due to rom space constraints E. Known Issues
You can't edit the player names for the NFC West teams using publicly released emulators. This rom may not work on some emulators. Sorry. F. Credits

I beileve the info on this has been updated to reflect the following (and there were some errors in the original)
 
PLAYER CONDITIONS:

First, player conditions have nothing to do with how often you use a player or how often he is tackled or how many yards he gains.

Conditions change after the end of each quarter. So conditions change at the beginning of the 2nd,3rd and
4th quarter. There is no condition change in overtime or to start the game.

Here is how the conditions change:

CURRENT CONDITION:

Bad: 75% stay in bad, 25% move to average 0% move to good, 0% move to excellent Average: 12.5% move to bad, 75% stay in average, 12.5% move to good, 0% move to excellent Good: 0% move to bad, 12.5% move to average, 75% stay in good, 12.5% move to excellent Excellent: 0% move to bad, 0% move to average, 25% move to good, 75% stay in excellent

As you can see a player can stay in a condition for a very long time. Conditions only move up one level at a time per change. So they can't go from BAD to EXCELLENT in a condition change. As you get towards the end of the season the best estimate of the distribution of conditions will something like this. Of course it likely won't be the same as this but this is the best guess based on the probabilities.

Bad: 16.7% (1/6) Average: 33.3% (1/3) Good: 33.3% (1/3) Excellent: 16.7% (1/6)

T/SR is Skin Tone / Shooting Range, those are 1 character of code each
FC/BL  is Face Type / Blocking , also 1 character of code for each attribute.

Spitballing here but is it possible to display 17 games in a week, maybe just week 17?  if so, it's possible to fit all the games in 17 weeks if you eliminate the bye and have teams double up once

I attached a screenshot, but if you choose an option for each drop-down arrow, the HEX info will automatically be created for you. I have tabs for batters, pitchers, and also all the information that I have about each option.

Thanks! I have used it a lot, but it is very limited. You can only edit stats and part of the stance. I wanted something more in depth that included every aspect of batters and pitchers.
