  1. Thanks for the responses! Especially #1 for evaluating quarterbacks and #3 because I try to avoid returning punts and kicks with players who have a ball control rating of less than 56. 50 and under will inevitably fumble quite a bit I have noticed, especially in the NES version.
  2. Guys, I am trying to warm up to the Genesis version with mixed results, and I had a few questions: 1) I know that Passing Accuracy pretty much means nothing in the NES version...does it mean anything in the Genesis version? 2) Do rain and snow conditions make it more likely that your running back will fumble or that your wide receiver will drop a pass? The manual said that the players are more likely to slip and fall, but that was it. Nothing about ball control or receptions in alternate weather conditions. 3) How do we know what the ball control rating is for a defensive back who is also a return man? For example, Donnell Woolford of the Chicago Bears is a decent return man, but when I look at his profile, it only says his defensive attributes. Is it safe to assume that a defensive back has a ball control rating of 50? Thanks in advance!
  3. Excellent points BO...I agree...a lot of the descriptions were accurate (though not all in my opinion), but the attributes didn't do much to support them in many cases. 25 Max speed might get you a few yards at most in a playoff game, even with the high hitting power (outside of most regular season games which are too easy anyway). I guess the keeping the chains moving description really meant that he was gonna get you 1 or 2 yards (bare minimum requirement for a short yardage specialist).
  4. Thanks again for the info bru and toolie, I agree...it was pretty amusing to read that manual years later and realize how minimalistic and inaccurate it was considering how revolutionary the game was for NES. I hope that the dude who wrote the team description section never sent his resume to ESPN, especially referring to "punishing" defenders who rated low in almost every attribute.
  5. Thanks for the responses guys...from reading the other threads I started to pick up on the random aspect. My understanding is that since the kick and punt returners are more likely to get gang tackled, they are more susceptible to injury. I originally thought that bad physical condition meant that the player was fatigued and/or playing with a minor injury. The instruction manual however says that bad condition means that the player is "in a slump". Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense because my QB goes into bad condition often when he has completed over 70% of his passes in a game and passed for 250+ yards. Hardly a slump. So the "random" explanation is really the only justification for it.
  6. Got it thanks. I am still pouting about no 1995 but I'm not a developer so I have no right to bich lol. I appreciate everyone's efforts to make these yearly ROMs possible. I have had a gigantic amount of fun with the 1982 Bengals, the 1985 Bears, and the 1972/1999 Dolphins. These teams kick ass!
  7. Guys here I come with a legit noob question years later...does a player being in bad physical condition make them more likely to get injured? It seems like I have played an entire season several times with a player in bad condition almost the whole season, and he never got injured. But then for some reason, my players who are in excellent condition seem to get injured and fumble a lot. Has anyone else noticed this?

  9. That makes sense. So my understanding is that the answer is no. Even though there is a 1999 ROM available for download on this site (despite the number of teams), it looks like there is no 1995 ROM. Thanks!
  10. I can't argue with you on those points but still a fun team to watch. Kramer to Graham and Kramer to Conway all season long was quite the show. Regardless, you know anything about a 1995 NES ROM? Some people were talking about creating one but I didn't see a link to download anything. Was a great year for the NFL, so would love to check out the other teams as well.
  11. Did anybody ever complete a 1995 NES ROM? The official sequels for SNES and Sega Genesis are brutal in my opinion. Would love to play a season with the 1995 Bears...Erik Kramer, Rashan Salaam, Jeff Graham Curtis Conway...a thousand yard rusher and two thousand yard wide receivers. If you know of one, can you please send me a link? I found ROMS for 1994 (where Kramer and Conway were rated much lower than I expected) and 1999, but nothing for 1995. Thanks!
  12. Bruddogg I just found and downloaded this file. You did an awesome job with it, especially love the 2 pt conversion. Too bad about the crashes though. Man VS Com is the only way that I play and I crashed about halfway through the first quarter. You planning on creating a future release that will play smoother Man VS Com?
  13. Oh and thanks to Atrain as well. Just read his response. My girlfriend has an old working NES console that I can hook up, but I would prefer to play a ROM on my laptop instead.
  14. bruddog: I really appreciate it. That was super helpful. So since i am super noob to this forum (and not ashamed of it), my next questions are any of these carts still available for sale (judging by your response I am guessing no)? And how can I get a copy of your 2020 super hack rom for NES (not SNES)? Would really love to play an NES ROM with the 2 point option if possible. I hope that i didn't miss my window of opportunity. Thanks again!
  15. How do you get to the 2 point conversion screen in Tecmo Super Bowl 2018 and 2020 for NES? I tried to press A and B during the touchdown cut scenes but I never got a 2 point conversion or 5th down screen. It seems like somewhere along the line there was a 2 point conversion option but it got lost along the way. What happened?
