    Sorry for the late response!
     
    1. We draft 3 defensive groupings, Top, Middle and Bottom. The Top is the top defensive ends, top outside linebackers and top defensive backs while the Bottom is the bottom of those units. The Middle is going to be the nose tackle and inside linebackers if a 3-4, or if 4-3 will be two defensive tackles and the middle linebacker. The Middle determines your defensive formation. Things get a little fuzzy with Heroes, but basically if you draft a defender that would not be in his original position in your defense we closely approximate where they would be.
           3-4 Nose Tackle <-> 4-3 Top DT
           3-4 Top ILB <-> 4-3 MLB
     
    2. The LA receiving corps has been given Mervyn Fernandez from Famicom at WR1 to compensate for this.

    5. It does. You have to draft the playbook first, then a running back at a later pick. Originally we allowed a double selection of RB and that PB but have since disallowed it. 
    6. Our rules are exactly the same as Omaha's except you cannot intentionally throw to a computer covered receiver on an unstoppable route, though you can do it to human defenders.

    We have what we call the "Hero Round" where I randomly (with some help) generate a unique class every season. A Hero is the Japan version of an already existing player, with their name changed to one that fits the time period so we don't have two of the same player. We do this to increase parity. Jim Kelly is the Japan version of Bernie Kosar.

    For one, it'll be Madden style.  I am looking for a way to toggle between Tecmo passing and Madden passing.  Some might want the old way.  But we felt, as we speed up the game, the scroll was too slow.  Our NCAA game was really hard to pass.  Second thing, as of right now, the WR3 spot will change depending on what position is in that slot.  So if you put a RB there, that player would instead line up in the backfield in a 2 back set.  Put a TE and that player lines up in the TE spot.  Same for the TE1 spot.  Put in. WR and that player lines up in the slot.  So one default formation will have multiple looks depending on who you put in the game.

    Not sure what you mean.
     
    Side note, we added snow and rain to the cutscenes.  The original didn't have it for anything but the coin toss.  We added it so that the weather effects show up during all cutscenes.

    Let's just put this right here...
     
    Still have some coding to do after the snap.  This will fall into our new ratings, the icons, if I can get it all figured out, will stay above the players heads, but depending on your QB coolness rating, when the QB runs around, the icons have a chance to disappear while the QB is moving.  This should help differentiate Upper tier QBs from mid to lower.

    I appreciate the response.  It is really close to being done, my life has settled down over the last couple years and I have more time to work on this.  
     
    Remaining items:
    Bug for the year end rewards - not working.
    Bug for returning from injury - I kind of know what is happening, need to rewrite the code to load the color palettes.
    Bug for in game player face flash graphics - not showing the right jersey for away players.
    Plays - This is a big one, but when we get enough, we will release a beta for playtesting and bug finding.
    Play graphics - depending on what we find, might be able to load tiles based on the players in the game
    Rosters - easiest part left, just waiting for a clearer roster picture for teams.
     
    Side stuff upgrades:
    expand the alternate jerseys
    Button over WR for the madden passing controls
    expand the faces for players and created players
    That NCAA game we never finished.

    Dubbing this Legacy CAP bug:
    Here's what I know so far, I found a NCAA Rom from 4-4-2014, it was a rom we were starting to convert to NFL.  The bug doesn't happen.  This still only has 30 teams selectable in Exhibition, but I expanded the pointers to let you toggle through 16 per conference.  
     
    The NFL rom from 4-20-2014, it happens.  This rom, the only new hacking would have been adding the 2 extra teams to Exhibition, and all the graphical logos.   
     
    This is good as it really narrows down what it could be.  I was afraid it might have been something in the Season expansion stuff I did.  That would be a nightmare to go through.  A lot of coding went into that.  I mean, how much coding could I have done in 16 days??? 
     
    I believe I have a hex editor somewhere in my files that let's you compare 2 roms.  I will look for it or download one if I can find one and compare the coding.  This should help me figure out what in those codes might be causing the error.
     
    So not all bad, but I won't go any further until I figure this out.  Too much time and effort to abandon the Created Player now.

    We run an HSTL style draft league using Original Tecmo Bowl rosters as well as Famicom Japan. We also run tournaments with OG rom. Hit me up on discord if interested. We currently have a good mix of talent and always looking for new players.

    EDIT: Changed Jack Trudeau pass speed on the Average Joe team was throwing nothing but submarine balls. Also cleaned up the Average Joe NFC team colors to not look close against the NFC All Stars
     
    I've been working on somethings for our online league. I made a rom with the following:
    2 sets of Original Teams with fixed playbooks for Minnesota & Washington.
    1 AFC All Star team
    1 NFC All Star team
    1 AFC Average Joe Team. Worst AFC players
    1 NFC Average Joe Team. Worst NFC players
    1 Famicom Stars Team full of unique players only to the Japan release.
    Attaching the same rom but with set command from xplosv with pursuit hack for tougher drones on defense.
    Also have the same rom but Washington and Minnesota has their Original WR reverses for those who want to keep it more pure.

    Just finished getting a cert for my field, will take a couple months off until I go for another.  So starting next weekend, operation Finish TSB4 will begin.  Hope to have it done before OTAs.

    Sorry about being MIA, still hanging around.  Work and life has been kicking my arse.  Very tough year, but I literally made finishing this game my Work's personal goal for the year.  So now it has to be done or my bonus/raise is at risk.  I have made it my mission to finish all the things I started.  I am planning on getting some certifications for work by months end, something I have been putting off for too long.  
     
    As for the new seeding, I haven't gone back to fix it, but I know the way the game does it so it's just a matter of moving the coding around. (Made a note of it due to our NCAA game that will at some point follow)

    Hello Tecmo fans, this is TheRaja here and I am the Commish of the Tecmo Fantasy Owners (TFO). What is TFO? Well we are a 36 team league where each team is made by a person (known as an "Owner") who submits an RPG-like application to have their own TFO Team created! They can create ANYTHING they want; we have teams that represent Comics, TV Shows, Anime, Marijuana, Alcohol, Wrestling, Movies, Sports, Music, Pop Culture, Games, Totally Made Up, and even a team of celebrities that have been merged due to the Time Variance Authority!!! ITS A CRAZY ROSTER OF TEAMS AND PLAYERS!!!! Those team will go through a full 17 week season (16 games & 1 bye) all played by the Computer! Its all CPU vs CPU!!! Games are posted weekly with 20 team playoffs to end the season! Season will go from February 2022 to June 2022 with Playoffs going until August 2022!!

    TecmoBowl.Org was really the start for TFO, and without this site I don't know if TFO would have even started (and it definitely wouldn't have lasted as long as it has). So THANK YOU to everyone here at TecmoBowl.Org for everything you do as TFO celebrates 10 years of greatness! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

    I was wondering if this was ever tried.  I love @bruddog's hack where the music plays at random every play.  I was wondering if it was possible or if was ever done where songs from the original Tecmo Bowl could be added.  Like the classic title screen music, Player 1 music, and player 2 music.  It would be really cool to have those 3 songs in the rotation when playing a game.  Any thoughts?

    Bummer. What about removing all bye games and keeping it a 17 week schedule with 17 games for each team? would that work? or like add the 18th week games onto week 17s slate of games? Or is there a max number of games allowed per week?
     
    i will try to play around with the schedule to figure something out. it might not be pretty but it could work in a pinch
