Winner of coin toss chooses team second from tier originally chosen or lower tier. 2. We will not keep track of teams used during group play. Choose the team that best suits you in group play under the tier list guidelines. 3. Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes. You are allowed to change your selected team's playbook before each game. Checking the change / substitution screen is allowed during gameplay. Once per quarter for each player is the recommendation. 4. Only a running back may receive a hand off, unless a reverse play is called. It is permissible 5. No ties. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. All OT’s will be 5-minute sudden death periods. If no one scores in the first OT, the second OT will be only the first quarter in a new game. This process will be repeated until a winner emerges. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in every OT period, the receiving team (i.e. team that gets the ball first) shall alternate beginning with the second OT period. 6. Defensive Lineman Lurching / Nose Tackle Dive / Any D-Lineman Dive is ILLEGAL. You must engage a lineman or go around the tackle box before engaging a player with a D-Lineman. This rule does not apply on Shotgun/Red Gun Z formations. This rule also does not apply on field goals or extra points. 7. Nintendo Malfunctions: If there is an equipment failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start. If equipment malfunctions in the 2nd half, only the second half is replayed. In that event, the scores from each half are added together to obtain a final score. If the game was uncompetitive or the equipment malfunctioned due to human error, the tourney organizers reserve the right to declare a winner without replaying any portion of the game. 8. Tournament Disputes: Trojan1979 is the sole tournament referee for dispute resolution unless stated otherwise the day of the tournament. 9. Competitors are allowed to bring their own controller, but it has to be an official Nintendo rectangle controller, official Nintendo dogbone controller, or a Hyperkin, Cirka, Gamerztek, or Old Skool 3rd party controller. We reserve the right to inspect and deny use of any controller for any reason. 10. All systems are either original NES consoles, or top loading clone consoles by Gamerztek, all hooked up via composite connection on CRT screens. MARQUEE MATCHUP STREAM - https://www.twitch.tv/tgfnretro This professional live coverage will be voiced and broadcasted by Troy GBLAN, organizer and voice of the GBLAN Online Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament. Troy will be showcasing the best players this tournament has to offer from opening kickoff until the champion is crowned! I encourage everyone to check out tgfnretro on Twitch and follow as they cover Tecmo events all over the country. THE PLAYER’S STREAM: - https://www.youtube.com/theretrosportsgamer Have you ever wanted to be a commentator at a Tecmo Tournament? Maybe you just want to cut a wrestling promo Tecmo style? This is your opportunity! This stream will be run by The Retro Sports Gamer teams. The goal of this stream is to capture the natural essence of the tournament and get as many unique players on stream as possible. Want to play on stream? Just ask! We will do our best to broadcast your game next. Players that register and can't make the tournament with at least one week notice will be fully refunded.
  3. Looking forward to following the stream today guys.
  4. The big thing is setting up you router for hosting, not the emulator so much. I've helped dozens in the community get this setup, so I'm happy to help, but best to do it from your home location. Just message me some contact information and I'll gladly reach out to assist.
  5. Did a recap with Tom the Retro Sports Gamer over the weekend, along with the TPC run by Mort.
  6. Thank you to all who came out and/or watched the stream this weekend! With being gone a significant part of the weekend for setup/tear down, and of course running the event. I haven't had the opportunity to put together a proper recap. I am currently working extra hours this week. I do promise a proper recap within a week or so. For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook, I think you got the basic idea through the photos we uploaded throughout the day. Yes there was a mistake on my end that was corrected the very next day regarding payouts. There was no malicious intent, and i'm glad we got that rectified right away. The no shows were obviously disappointing. A mix of no communication, same day communication, some excuses being 100% legit, the others simply prioritizing some other activity over the tournament. It's easily the most no shows we've ever had proportionately. Yes a game 7 NLCS was a part of the equation with this, something we didn't anticipate when the date was chosen. The silver lining was that more rounds of Swiss were possible, so that meant more games for everyone there, as we didn't have to wait for a 2nd set of games per round to finish the Swiss round. Ultimately, every single player played at least 7 games. Nelson79 was 1st, Tom Stanke 2nd, Timpai 3rd, DPS was 4th. Ahman Green was a late show participant, and we didn't know that was happening until moments before he arrived. He was very nice, and won a game on stream. Hopefully he attends future tournaments, including Tundra Bowl. He seemed to have a nice time. Despite being one of the no shows, our sponsor Dallaire Realty still stepped up and provided pizza to the attendees. We gave away 3 Gamerztek consoles, and a signed TSB NES Cartridge(signed by Ahman) The format was well received by those there save one.(Sorry Gats) I have no preference, it's just something different than what's typically out there, and there seems to be a demand for it. We had a number of new players that really enjoyed it. Thanks to Tom for his additional stream coverage, including games of NHL94 and Mortal Kombat I and II after the tournament. No one took AJ93 or my money in the challenges. That's all I have time for right now. We had a ton of fun, and I look forward to the next time we can put something together. -Trojan
  7. Doors open at 10AM, still slots open for signup. Looking forward to the action all day long!
  8. If you missed our conversation last night on Facebook live, here it is. Despite us saying so to the contrary, Michael Joyce from Player 2 Arcade Bar will in attendance. We talk about the format, the competitors in play thus far, and answer some questions from chat.
  9. Will be going live about 8:30 CST tonight to discuss Full Nelson, A Hardcore Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament! Join us live! Follow our Facebook page for the alert! https://www.facebook.com/Green.Bay.LAN/
  10. Those that do not qualify for the money bracket will still have something to compete for! The Gamerztek 8 Bit HD is a great no fuss, top loading NES solution that works with your hdtv over hdmi, or on your CRT via composite analog inputs. The winner of the consolation bracket will take on of these consoles home. The controllers included are very nice!
  11. Currently up to 32 on the RSVP, just a handful of days away. This would be our largest Tecmo event ever if this is even close to the actual turnout! Considering most of the players coming aren't our "usual suspects", this is very encouraging!
  12. To make it official, I'm upping the ante. I'm offering a $50 prize to any tournament participant, who can knock me off at mk1 or mk2(must be random select) during the Full Nelson weekend!
  13. Thanks DPS. We think this newbie friendly approach could grow the number of players out there, no just in person, but also online, while still catering to the competitive juices of veteran players. It also puts a fresh coat of paint on how we play.
  14. We will be setting up and welcoming open retro gaming to anyone signed up for the tournament 8PM October 19th at the venue. We are planning two challenges for this evening. One involves beating me at Mortal Kombat 2. First person to do it wins $20 We are working out a similar challenge involving defending King of 94 champion Angryjay93, who will be in attendance, and will take on all comers in NHL94! We are working out the payouts for matchups. And of course, there will be an opportunity to knock off the rust in Tecmo, as we setup for the tournament. Any additional helping hands are welcomed, but not required should you wish to help carry in equipment.
  15. We are in the process of discussing activities for the the Friday night before the tournament. We are looking to run a tournament the night before. You can vote on your preference on Facebook.
  16. Update on the adult beverages. The Edge VR Arcade just got their beer license approved, so there will be a variety of beers in either bottles/cans available for your enjoyment.
  17. I'll be one of the contributors on The Retro Sports Gaming Monthly show tonight with Tom aka @allamerican1569. We will touch base on this tournament at some point during the broadcast. Angryjay93 will be on, and he will be playing in our tournament as well. He is on to discuss the NHL94 tournament the following week primarily, but he's taken interest in this community. See you tonight!
  18. We're happy to release this promo video that people can easily share on social media. We expect a lot of first time Tecmo tournament players to make their appearance at this event, as well as some Tecmo veterans. Enjoy!
  19. Streaming via wifi is usually a crap shoot at best, even if it's stable. Using a wired connection to an stable LTE connection is usually better on the I/O of the PC. You guys have been blessed with the Dmen wired connection.
