  1. I run LAN parties in Green Bay, and Overwatch is super popular. Currently we run them on PC. I do however own a PS4, and play Rocket League a ton. trojangblan on PS4, trojangb on steam, trojan1979 on games for windows live. https://www.facebook.com/Green.Bay.LAN/?fref=ts This is our FB page for event postings.
  2. On the matter of the stream, most ISP's will increase service levels for a weekend for a nominal fee, the venue just has to ask for it, then call on Monday to put service levels back to normal. Since billing is prorated, we are talking about $10-$20 here at most. Congrats on your event, and that amazing news footage.
  3. Is this going to be streamed? If so what twitch channel?
  4. GBLAN will be again present with game equipment and streaming/recording equipment same as last time, with additional controllers/game copies. Games will be streamed at twitch.tv/trojan1979. Hoping my top 8 finish wasn't a fluke last time! Never forget!
  5. Here is the link to the photo album taken by our photographer David Bayer. These were taken during the bracket portion of the action on Saturday.
  6. The playlist is assembled. We apologize for the poor video quality, as we chose downscaling to allow a smooth enough live stream experience as possible given the available bandwidth. Definitely check out the Jason v Regulator video in the mix here. You may have to skip ahead in sections, as this hasn't been cut up much at all. Also, during group play we were delayed getting the names and team helmets updated since I was playing in my own bracket and made the changes in between games. Stay tuned some details related to NHL 94. I'd try to keep your Saturdays clear in September if I were you. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBo10ggbB8gPlbGi2aUPJYuWKwpT5tzQE
  7. All attendees check your email, groupings are listed and some other important details within.
  8. I've wondered about this too. I'd also like to see the official tier list being used, so I know what matchups to practice.
  9. Congrats to Levi Lacross for taking 1st, Tim Ubrick for taking 2nd, and yours truly took home 3rd place after starting 6-0(grr) We are pleased with the testing results, and are confident with the quality of the setups being contributed to Tecmo Milwaukee on April 23rd. Here is a link to the Challonge bracket after group play concluded. http://challonge.com/gblantsb We had some dropouts before and after bracket play started due to participant time restraints. Here is our video playlist for the event. Skip ahead to about 22:00 minutes on the first video. We had a couple of video glitches earlier on so we apologize for the awkward cut ups early on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6ugUwFXP54&list=PLBo10ggbB8gNgd6IVvRhqr-8NHCekBcev
  10. As Tecmo Milwaukee approaches, we are GBLAN are going to put the equipment through its paces by hosting a tournament a week from today. The stakes are low, but so is the cost to participate, only $10. Standard Madison game rules apply. Group play will be followed up with a double elimination bracket. There will be no less than 8 functional setups. Our goal is at least 16 players. Any help getting the word out is appreciated. Proceeds will go towards additional items needed to add to our game recording capabilities. The tournament main system will be setup to stream via twitch at twitch.tv/trojan1979 Please RSVP at https://www.facebook.com/events/1696079260631854/ Thanks, Trojan
  11. New number, 57 today on first attempt!
  12. We play this at our live gaming events in Green Bay. You can add me trojangb or trojangb2 on steam, and trojangblan on ps4 network
  13. There are a number of reasons why I don't think this has been as popular. 1) Flash carts aren't cheap, if you don't get them sponsored, you are likely looking at about $150 + cost of console hardware, x # of stations being represented. 2) Nostalgia is a big factor in Tecmo Super Bowl Play. The modern roms seem to be more of a novelty to mess around with casually. 3) The modern romsets don't seem to have those bugs we all love, such as Bob Nelson's insane speed, Wayne Haddix's Interceptions, and John Elway's abysmal pass control. As response times continue lowering on gaming monitors + cheaper portable computers like the Raspberry Pi(Retro Pi), I can see this being done via emulation as time progresses, and CRT screens + working NES consoles fade from existence.
  14. Yeah that 4 person tournament at Boehmer's(not run by me at the time) with a clone console + generic contollers attached to an HDTV comes to mind.
  15. It's official, GBLAN will be teaming up with the organizers of Tecmo Milwaukee in April, to help put on a great tournament! We will be providing multiple setups including CRT screens, NES Consoles, controllers and copies of Tecmo Super Bowl! We have 10 functional NES systems plus cartridges + power strips and controllers to spare. The challenge will be the CRT transportation, but I think we can get 8 screens for sure in our vehicle. We've started reaching out to the community members, shared the posts in multiple Facebook groups, and will be reaching out to the local game stores for some additional exposure. We also have the ability to setup a stream or local recording capture of one of the stations if needed. This will be a great opportunity to network with other Tecmo players in our state. We are also looking to do a friendly mini tournament in Green Bay a couple weeks out to help warm up the players prior to this grand event, and do a nice dry run of the equipment prior. Stay tuned for that! -Trojan
  16. Oh wow, will check it out later! Why has this gotten no love?
  17. I am having a conversation about the bandwidth of the tournament and X-promotion with GBLAN's retro events later today. I am able to supply up to 10 fully functional setups to help through this.
  18. I'd be interested in getting in on that for multiple cards. It would be nice to be able to record more stations per event, and at that price, it would be hard to pass up.
