  1. In your screenshots, I recognize a lot of the logo work... 🤔 Was it pretty straight-forward porting them over from my NES NBA release, or was there trickery involved? Up to this point, I've had zero luck doing sprite work on any of my SNES releases. I can create NES logos all day... SNES? It's a whole other monster for me. I've got a few SNES projects I've been holding off on because the existing sprites are not what I want.
  2. Slow process, but three teams' players rated.
  3. I have two options as far as how names will be displayed in a... project. We have traditional Griffey-sytle with First initial-Last name, or mixed style of Full Names and First initial-Last name. Which looks better? Completeness, or consistency?
  4. I released this game almost 8 years ago. In that time, great players have joined the league, like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Lamar Jackson and Christian McCaffrey. It might be time to give other players like Bill Kenney, Fred Arbanas, Tony Banks and Rod "He Hate Me" Smart the boot. It might be time for an OFFICIAL update to Tecmo Super Bowl Gold (The Goldest Game!).
  5. View File Tecmo NCAA Basketball '15 (NES) You know what to do (Download this!). I released this game back in 2015, however this time around, it is without the dreaded "12th man super-scorer" glitch. Nine years after its initial release, this has been fixed. As of today, this the first (and only) college basketball game on the NES (until I put out a follow-up in the next year or two). All the team logos, uniforms, and courts have been modified to reflect their college counterparts. SimData has been modified to reflect typical college basketball scores (Scores of 75-70 are the norm). There are 27 teams in this ROM. The team selection was partially based on what teams were hot in 2015, and historical significance (see attached screenshot). This provides for effortless future updates. For the sake of realness, it is HIGHLY advised you play a season with a SHORT schedule (26 games). This closest reflects a regular season of college basketball. This ROM is the best of its kind. You would be a fool NOT to add it to your collection. This is one of MANY games that I have on my BaronGaming.weebly.com and Patreon.com/BaronGaming sites, most of which you won't find anywhere else. The site is currently being renovated, so please mind the mess. Submitter Baron von Lector Submitted 02/25/2024 Category Misc ROMs

  7. Piggybacking off of this, an update of a nine-year old project is dropping tomorrow. Clue: It's a fix of an error that's been haunting Tecmo NBA games for the last nine years, and is considered to be the greatest update of Tecmo NBA of all time!
  8. View File Tecmo NBA Basketball '23 (NES) Something cool happened this week! This is the ROM update I started at the end of last season that I just now finished. While the roster are a year old, this is still the (in my humble opinion) the best version of this game available. I've been busy saving the world with, you know, space lasers! I didn't update any of the logos (aside from the ones I did in the previous version). Maybe next season. I've seen a lot of versions of this game released over the last couple years and they all have the same issue: The scoring leaders are always the backup center, averaging 100+ points per game. This is not an issue in this ROM. Also, the season simdata has been updated for this season, so the level of success a team experienced during the 2022-23 season is reflected in this ROM. Now, this doesn't mean that a team won't over-play their simdata. It happens. The last season I updated this ROM was... four years ago in 2019? So with that, see you after the 2027 season. 10. I should have either waited a week to release this, or released this a week earlier. It got completely drowned out by the tsunami of Tecmo Super Bowl NFL releases. Anybody reading this, this might be the first time they knew this existed.

  12. Even though it's a year late, I'm working on a version of Winning Run for the 2022 season to commemorate Aaron Judge's record-breaking (depends on who you ask) season. I started one for the start of the 2023 season, but having released KGJr Presents, RBI and RBI3, I figure there's no need to split the audience and risk being redundant.

The Holy Grail of annual baseball ROM updates (for this season) is here! All rosters are accurate as of the first month of the MLB season. Originally the rosters were based loosely on the Opening Day rosters, but a few notable moves were made and reflected in this ROM (Aaron Hicks to BAL, the emergence of Elly de la Cruz, etc.) The HR Derby, as it has been the last few seasons, had real MLB players and not the fictional jobbers of the original game. In keeping with 30 years of tradition, Tampa and Arizona get the middle finger and do not make appearances. (They do show up in my Griffey Winning Run ROM, fully unlocked, coming soon). I would say "If you notice any errors on my part, please let me know", but I won't. This game is absolute perfection! This game was released after the first month of the season to my Patreon subscribers. This week I am uploading it to my website, BaronGaming.weebly.com. You will be able to find this, and the rest of my collection. Enjoy!

  15. It is a very good game. I am particularly fond of the deep stat tracking. I've started and stopped many times in creating an updated version of this game. I have one from the end of Aaron Judge's season of 62 HR last year. I'll likely finish it, regardless of how many seasons pass in the mean time.
  16. It's currently on my Patreon at Patreon.com/BaronGaming. I plan on releasing it to the general public sometime in the next week or two at BaronGaming.weebly.com.
  17. Ken Griffey Jr. Presents: Major League Baseball - 30th Anniversary Edition (Original Game with REAL Players) View File Remember the original Ken Griffey Jr. baseball game? Remember how annoying it was to play with real teams, but had players you've never heard of and you had to MANUALLY change each player, one letter at a time, using your baseball cards as reference? Here is that game but with MAJOR changes, and it only took THIRTY(ish) years! 1) All the players have been re-named to their real-life counterparts, this includes the regular rosters AND the All-Star rosters. 2) The Homerun Derby has been overhauled with real MLB players: Ken Griffey Jr. (the lone holdover from the original roster), Frank Thomas, Cal Ripken, Barry Bonds, Dave Justice and Tony Gwynn. 3) Small details that the original creators overlooked, such as the RH/LH stances of about one-in-ten of the players has been corrected. The appearances of some race-swapped players have been fixed. Also, there are no longer any 5'9" "tall & lanky" players, just as there are no more 6'5" "short & rounds." 4) Other small details, mostly concerning high ERAs and lowercase Cs. I didn't do too much to the player ratings, choosing to keep the original ratings the developers decided on. The biggest change was upping Deion Sanders SPD rating to 10. This is expected, being the fastest player (just ask him) in the league at the time. (I am aware the game came out in 1994 so this is technically not the 30th anniversary. The game is based on the 1993 season which happened 30 years ago.) Submitter Baron von Lector Submitted 07/04/2023 Category SNES

  19. Yikes! I was just about to re-release my old OG Griffey with real-name rosters before I realized that the creators of the game were not MLB fans. I'm seeing a lot 5'9"-5'11" pitchers with the tall body frames and 6'3"-6'8" pitchers with the normal or short-round body frames. Also, I'm undecided about what I'm going to do with Lonnie Smith and Scott Sanderson appearing on two teams. Stay tuned!
  20. This reminds me... I did something similar to this a while back, but sent Nick Noheart, Sammy Scrap, Can O'Corn and the rest of the Derby jabronies back to the minors and replaced them with regular players like Frank Thomas, Dave Justice aaaand... I forget who else. Regarding the season crashing, are you talking about when you first start the season? This is an emulator issue. I forget which was which, but I think ZSNES crashes, but SNES9x works fine.
  21. In my last 2018 update, I was feeling frisky and updated about half of the team logos in the game. I might go back in and update the rest for my 2023 release. Or I might not. We'll see.
