  1. Slight edit to the ROM. Replaced Seattle's Stanley Seager with the corrected Kyle Seager.
  2. @TecmoTurd Is your 30-team annual ROM done in RBI or RBI3?
  3. @Knobbe - Here's the roster that EddyDeanClassic came up with: Sam Mayday Malone--STUD Closer from Cheers tv series Steve Nebraska--SP PHENOM from The Scout film...Make him unhittable almost? as he was in the film lol Billy Chapel--SP from Costner film For the love of the Game...vet with good stuff and great breaking ball and curve Jack Elliot--Mr Baseball...1B...hits for everything and great fielder..low speed Max Hammer Dubois--OF...Mr Baseball...power hitter with decent speed..funny he also played Cerrano in Major League Billy Brubaker--C from Summer Catch---great hitter with great speed for a C Mickey Dominguez--Infielder from summer catch..great glove and speed and hits for high average but no pop Gus Sinski--C from For Love of the Game ...great defense and hits for pop but bad average..bad speed Bobby Rayburn--OF.....from The Fan...Wesley Snipes played a Barry Bonds type who blasts everything out of the park and is 5 tool Ray Kinsella..ANY POS..OF?...Gotta be in this game right? John Kinsella...any position although primarily C from Field of Dream...make him a star as his role was incredible and memorable of what could have been Moonlight Graham--INF from Field of Dreams...skinny white kid who had all the tools sans power...essential and fun to think he could be in this game! Cecil Stud Cantrell--3B from the movie Long Gone...solid all around with average pop Jamie Weeks---SS from the movie Long Gone...great speed, defense, average and ok power Joe Louis Brown--OF/C from movie Long Gone...Think Josh Gibson ish as he is that good in the movie Kenny Powers of the Myrtle Beach Mermen
  4. @Kamphuna Good catch. It was intentional. I'm not fond of the name "Kyle", so I decided to name him "Steve", instead. I'll have a fix for it this afternoon or tomorrow.
  5. @Bodom It was intentional-ish. I first learned that you can make some crazy pitches when I was working on knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. I max/min'd out some numbers on Nebraska and when testing him out to see what the extremes would do, I realized "Wow, that's a lot of fun." So I kept it in. BaronROMs.wordpress.com
  6. @Kamphuana8 It's highly doubtful. We scraped the barrel just trying to come up with 10 "quality" teams. Adding 20 more teams would be just filler, and I don't know how to change how the team names appear on RBI3. My skills are limited, but I make well with the tools that I have at my disposal. 7. Oh, and "Wild Thing" Ricky Vaughn of the Cleveland Indians can throw a 120MPH fastball.
  8. I posted the finished ROM in this thread: http://tecmobowl.org/topic/64584-rbi-baseball-no-crying-in-baseball-edition/
  9. This is a different kind of ROM than I’m used to making. The rosters are comprised of teams from television shows and movies. The teams included are: Bad News Bears (Bad News Bears) New York Knights (The Natural) The Benchwarmers (The Benchwarmers) Rockford Peaches (A League of Their Own) Durham Bulls (Bull Durham) Cleveland Indians (Major League) California Angels (Angels in the Outfield) The Sandlot (The Sandlot and The Sandlot 2) Chicago Black Sox (Eight Men Out) Hollywood All-Stars (Players from various film and television shows) This was a collaborative effort along with EddyDeanClassic. I took the liberty to have a little more fun with this ROM and make it less “simmy” and more “arcadey.” For example, Steve Nebraska on the Hollywood All-Stars pitching is so unrealistic, it has to be played to be seen (120MPH fastballs, curves that do literal 180 degree turns mid-flight, and sliders that slow down to 15MPH). “Willie Mays” Hayes on the Indians is incredibly fast, and Babe Ruth is tucked away on The Sandlot’s bench. 10. Here's a preview of the RBI Baseball - No Crying in Baseball Edition. Bad News Bears vs. New York Knights
  11. This ROM is an update of the “Spring Training” edition. The rosters have been updated, and I updated the ratings to incorporate the new formula I’ve been using for the historical ROMs. The ratings are based on 2014’s statistics with a few “grandfather” exceptions (Alex Rodriguez, Prince Fielder, CC Sabathia). These players are rated on expected stats as opposed to their actual stats. They are better than .000AVG/0HR, .247AVG/3HR, and 3W-4L/5.28ERA, respectively, due to injury and suspension. The most difficult decision was whether or not to include Yu Darvish on the Rangers, even as a #4 starter due to him being out for the entire year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ultimately, I omitted him from the roster. When playing, don’t be afraid to dig deep into the bench. Some teams started this year with a handful of starters on the disabled list. They are on the roster, but didn’t make the opening day starting lineup. Don’t be surprised to find a 20+HR/.300+AVG player on the bench. EDIT: A download link would be nice. Linked! 12. Thank you for the rosters. Once I'm done with the updated 2015 RBI 3 ROM, I'm going to get started on this one. I enjoy creating these ROMs. I'm a hardcore baseball and statistics nerd (in college, Statistics has been my favorite class), so it only seem appropriate that I've been able to use RBI and Tecmo as outlets. 13. Alright, so far we've got: Hollywood All-Star Team Minnesota Twins Cleveland Indians Bad News Bears Rockford Peaches The Sandlot Durham Bulls (roster pending) New York Knights (roster pending) What about this one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437863/ - The Benchwarmers. It would be fun to try and fill a team with four (Gus, Richie, Clark, Howie) players.
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_%28film%29#Roster http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bad_News_Bears http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_League_of_Their_Own ...and look at what I found. That's three teams taken care of.
  15. To create this, I would need rosters. 12 position players and 4 pitchers. Since there are no historical stats for these teams, I could come up with "traditional" stats for the players and their ratings (i.e. the speedy lead-off hitter, the powerful clean-up hitter, etc). I think that's about it. I could Google the uniforms.
  16. @Pocky My favorite team is the New York Yankees. I grew up as a Don Mattingly fan. This works well for me right now, because in Yankee down-years, I can pull for the Dodgers when the playoffs roll around because he is the manager. I figure if he can't get into the Hall of Fame on his player merits, perhaps he can get in as a manager. @Eddy I was iffy on the idea at first, but after thinking about it, that sounds like a lot of fun. Hardest thing would be to come up with 10 teams. Top of my head, I think of the Major League Indians, that female team from A League of Their Own, A Sandlot team, and the Chicago Black Sox from Field of Dreams. I'm sure there's a lot of other teams, just drawing a blank at the moment. An update to the finalized version of RBI 3 - 2015... I've got the rosters and lineups set. Right now, I'm re-doing the ratings and using the formula that I've been using for all the Historic RBI games. The hardest part so far was deciding whether or not to put Yu Darvish in the game because he's out for the year with Tommy John surgery. He didn't make the cut. I figure I should be done by Wednesday.
  17. With opening day lineups and rotations being finalized, I've started working on an update for this ROM. Should be ready in a week or so.
  18. This ROM is based on the 1968 NFL season. The teams included in this ROM are the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Colts, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears. The offensive ratings are based on the statistics for the season. The defensive ratings were a little harder to determine because at this time, sacks totals were not counted so I had to rely on the All Pro and Pro Bowl rosters to determine the ratings. BaronROMS.wordpress.com Tecmo Bowl 1968.nes
  19. This ROM is based on the 2001 baseball season when Barry Bonds broke the single season home run record, previously held by Mark McGwire. The teams included are the Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and Chicago Cubs. Expect some high-scoring affairs as the ratings are gaudy in comparison to previous ROMs. There are eighteen players on this ROM (not including the players on teams that didn't make it into the game) that have thirty home runs or more.
