  1. Players? No. But Harbaugh is still in the league as a coach! Can't think of anyone else who was a player in TSB3 and now is in the league doing something. I think Favre might be the towel boy for the Vikings.
  2. Reich huh? I always run Foster for a bizzillion yards so I don't remember. I love the Jags offense too, its pretty deep with a lot of different player types (Cobb is an awesome fullback), but I think when I played them I created a QB haha. Next time I'll try sticking with Buerlin and see how it goes. Agreed - Harbaugh is another great example of hot and cold.
  3. When you use goal line without audibling into another formation, do you exclusively man the safety? I worry about coverage issues too much. Also, not sure if anyone else does this, but when I'm on offense and the comp lines up in dime when I want to pass, or goal line when I want to run, I hit audible but cancel it, and the comp will sometimes change formations the opposite way. It's worth a try in a lot of circumstances. I haven't played TCB3 against a person in many years. Does everyone set up their playbooks so there's only one or two formations? Otherwise on defense you can memorize the offenses plays based on formations right? My luck, I found out about your tournaments after moving from Reading, PA to Salt Lake City, UT. We have one good cheesesteak place here thank god.
  4. Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I almost solely use Nickel despite my number 2 LB hardly doing anything except getting the occasional sack. I either play as my strongest LB or Safety. I think the depth of my team determines how often I veer from the Nickel. Dime is the next best, especially when I play the computer, I pick the most effective and/or hardest to read run play in each play book and only pick those 2 running plays all game. Normal is best for goal line since there's less coverage issues. Goal line is basically useless. Then after watching one of the NFTGL videos, I think using hybrid audibles is something I'm trying next.
  5. Your post is pretty spot on. For me the most notable Hot and Cold QB's are Cunningham, George, Hebert, and Esiason. Basically with these guys attributes they should never miss a wide open receiver, with no pass rush, and a straight route (no curls). In seasons with 21 teams my top 10 QB's so far range from a rating of 209.6 (Esiason) to 281.2 (Marino). Most of the QB's I use will get like 2-3 INTs a season, especially on a run-first team. Esiason was on a pass first team, and I threw 10 picks that season - highest on my top 10 and maybe all-time. But I also has amazing long bombs from him so he is the quintessential Hot and Cold QB. Cunningham (217.6) and Hebert (224.1) are just above mediocre but they get the job done without a lot of picks. Jeff George - I want him to work so bad, cause I like a QB with a lot of passing speed, but he didn't even make my top 10. The only one I disagree with is Bono (240.2), that guy is surprisingly good. But like you said I played him on a run-balanced team, so it might be skewed. Humphries never gets hot, his attributes do not equal his performance. My biggest surprises were Walsh (250.7) and Farve (248.9) but Favre threw the 2nd most INTs at 7, so he can be cold too. Some other under-rated QBs on my top 10 (remember I haven't got to all 30 teams yet) are Everett, Kramer. and Rypien. Everett would have had a Marino like season if I threw the long ball more, his rating of 236.6 was low because his average yards were comparatively low. He only threw 1 INT with 77 TDs, and I don't remember bitching once about missing an open receiver. Kramer and Rypien both had ratings of 240 - but they are both on a run first team with Bettis and I put in whoever was in the best condition since they both have similar attributes - which takes out the shitty-throws-when-in-bad-condition syndrome. If you never played a full season with some of these guys I suggest you do.
