  1. Comet Bowl (All Backups as Starters with the Backup TE as KR and PR!) presented by MvG Sports!

    Gentlemen!

Quite simple, here is a rom with all of the backups as starters with all of the backup TEs as the KR and PR.  I call this COMET BOWL because COMET is TECMO rearranged thus.....just think about it.....you'll get it! Lol Enjoy!

  2. Tecmo Intra (13 game schedule, AFC v. AFC, NFC v. NFC, no intermingling) presented by MvG Sports!

    Hello all!

I've output another schedule hack of the original TSB rom.  All AFC teams play only all AFC teams, and all NFC teams play only all NFC teams, to better determine the titans of each conference.  This is more of a pre-1996 MLB theme to the Tecmo Super Bowl game.  I've wanted to make this for a while, and only thought about how easy it would be to hack yesterday, thus I've put it out 24 hours later.  Enjoy!

  3. Super Tecmo Bowl! (TSB ROM) Presented by MvG Sports

    Hello Gentlemen,

I was so tired of people calling Tecmo Super Bowl, Super Tecmo Bowl, that I decided to make a Super Tecmo Bowl on TSB for the NES!

Only the original 12 teams from Tecmo Bowl are in/edited/scheduled in this rom.  Those teams are IND, MIA, CLE, DEN, RAI, SEA, DAL, NYG, WAS, CHI, MIN, and SF.

There are 11 and 16 game schedule versions of this game.  I would call the 11-game version the OFFICIAL one, but play them as you will.  In the 11-game version, each team plays every team once, a la the original Tecmo Bowl.  In the 16-game version, teams play their intra-conference opponents twice, and their inter-conference opponents once.

All of the players from the Tecmo Bowl rosters are in this game and the starters should be identical to that version.  I derived the ratings from the actual ratings from the Tecmo Bowl rom while factoring in their fake game stats as necessary.  After I did that, I compared the ratings to the TSB ratings on TecmoGeek.com to make sure they were within the "regular" constraints of TSB.  Since this game is a bit of an homage to the original Tecmo Bowl game, all of the non-Tecmo Bowl players were given the ratings of the worst players at that position in TSB (see below).  The playbooks are also meant to closely mirror the playbooks of the original Tecmo Bowl.  With that said, none of the "easy/gimme" plays were included in this rom.  Most teams only have 1 RB for all the running plays (minus RAI) because they only had that 1 RB in Tecmo Bowl.

    NON-TECMO BOWL PLAYER RATINGS

    QB - Steve Grogan

    RB - Joe Caravello

    WR - Leo Lewis

    TE - John Talley

    OL - Ron Solt

    DB - Andre Waters

*NOTE there are no non-Tecmo Bowl players on the DL or LB

I did the best I could with the simmed season and stat process.  I just clicked the AUTO-UPDATE attribute tab on the TSB Supreme Tool to use for the SIM STAT ratings (I did ZERO out the SIM RUSH stat for the SS position if curious because they were racking up a ton of sacks when simming seasons.  They still seem to get quite a few).  The faces for the players are all the same; I used 1 face for the Caucasians and 1 face for the African-Americans.  I was surprised to learn that there are a lot of player "color" errors on the original Tecmo Bowl.  I did also update the TEAM SIM STAT ratings as well, according to the Tecmo Bowl in-game fake stats, but I feel like the simming of seasons is kind of all over the place.  The RBs rake the stats because many are only the sole RB on their team getting carries, and the playbooks I chose are apparently more/most conducive to RBs getting a lot of receptions.  Please let me know if you have any questions or any feedback, whatsoever.  Thank you and take care, but most of all...ENJOY!

  4. I figured this out FYI.  The TEAM CONTROL screen goes/went to shit when I updated the YEAR in the GENERAL INFORMATION screen on TSBm 2000 and exported the data afterwards.  If I solely use the TSB Supreme Tool Editor, the TEAM CONTROL screen is fine, thus I am solely using that.  Thank you for taking a look.

    Hello Gentlemen,

Any Idea how I effed this up or how I fix it?  I've been using both the TSB Supreme Tool and TSB 2000m editors to hack a TSB rom.  The screen is functional, but you need to remember how many times you clicked the A button because the dots/ellipses don't go away when you press A to toggle.  Only 12 teams have games scheduled on my rom, but I just tried lessening the schedule of another regular rom, and the team control screen is fine, despite like 20 teams not having games scheduled.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks much.

  6. 'Afternoon All,

As mentioned previously, I'm attempting to play 756 World Series (Every team v. every team) on my 1996 hack of Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball (SNES).  I've played about 12 since 2014 thus I'm on a great pace (lol), but I'm back in the kick of playing these.

My first 8 World Series, I started as the HOME team, thus I thought I would always start the WS at HOME, just like for all exhibition games you are the HOME team.  In 2 of the last 4 World Series I've played, I've been the AWAY team twice in Game 1, so I'm a bit confused...is it just random?  Is my rom, garbage? (Every time I load it up on ZSNES it does say BAD ROM at the bottom).  I did try it on the original KGJR rom as well and got both HOME and AWAY WS starts.  I've combed the instruction booklet and it doesn't state anything about this, and I haven't been able to find any other documentation online.

Does anyone have experience playing World Series and if so, what happened?  I'm interested in your feedback.  Thanks much!

  7. MvG Sports - Tecmo Turbo (10 GAME SCHEDULE!)

    Hello All!

If you're bored of playing the same old seasons, maxing out stats EVERY SINGLE SEASON, then this rom is for you!  I present to you MvG Sports - Tecmo Turbo, where each team plays only a 10-game schedule on the original 1991 TSB rom/game.  Each team plays their divisional opponents, once, and plays at least 1 opponent from each of the other divisions, based on the quality of the team (#1 AFC EAST, plays #1 AFC CENTRAL, #1 AFC WEST, and so on).

Try to get your 63 TDs, your 4095 Yards, and your 127 sacks in 6 less games!  Good luck and enjoy!

    Trevor

  8. Original 1991 Tecmo Super Bowl with Alternate Schedule! MvG Sports Comet Bowl

    Hello All!

To reinvigorate playing seasons against the CPU, I have altered the original Tecmo Super Bowl rom to have a completely different regular season schedule for each team!  All teams play all teams that they didn't play in the original iteration of Tecmo Super Bowl, thus there are NO DIVISIONAL GAMES!  4 teams (NE, DEN, PHX, MIN) have a new 16 team schedule.  The rest of the teams in the 5-team divisions play 15 teams that they didn't before, and 1 dupe.  The teams in the 4-team divisions play 14 teams that they didn't play before with 2 dupes.

Below is the actual schedule.  I did the best I could.  All teams play 8 home and 8 away games, but due to the schedule breakdown/circumstance, a few teams do play twice in one week, but for not more than 1 week.  I did kind of do a beta test regarding injuries within the same week, and players that do get injured in game 1 of the week can come back in game 2 of the week.  Please let me know if you have any comments/questions, but most of all ENJOY THIS!  I know I will!

Oh and a big thanks to the creator of the TSB Tool Supreme, which allowed me to complete this task/project

  9. 'Afternoon All,

I'm just looking for opinions/suggestions/recommendations regarding Tecmo Rose Bowl and the other Tecmo NCAAF games out there...which is the best and why?

I'm about to comb through a bunch of 'em and perhaps do a traditional MvG Challenge v. one of them during the actual college football season.  The only one that I've ever played at any length is Tecmo Rose Bowl 2002 (maybe the first NCAAF Tecmo game ever made/hacked?  It's the first/only one I remember seeing).  I'm not a fan of the fonts, but it plays pretty well.

I'm interested to see what you guys have to say about these.  Thank you in advance.

Its just a graphical overhaul of the SNES game so its running the same core engine... so receivers will stop as much as they do in that game.

I'm pretty sure you can throw long bombs in the SNES version though.  Everything in TBT is a WR comeback route.  I played 2 full seasons of this in January 2019 (with Detroit and Buffalo)...I intended to do a season with all 28 teams, but the fact that you could only be on the ranking list once kind of turned me off, and I turned soft on it.

There are a lot of cumbersome little nuances about this game that make it much less enjoyable than its predecessors.
