Holla, I had a good time overall. I enjoyed the pizza and I liked the style of the swiss thing. It allowed for games to get going and get through. Im from out of town so i could have even done 8-9 rounds of that but 6 was good. Elimination round was like every other tourney, no game is easy and it is always a grind. I would like to say again i liked the pizza and seeing ahmand greene was cool. he sure was a little fela, i think i could tackle him easy. If i see him again i will try a one on one tackle drill to see if that is true. I was kind of sad that Hank had to work sunday and could not get drunk, that is one of my favorite things about tourneys. I would like to point out that JOEY GATS told me to stay in bounce to kill clock and it is that exact moment that my guy fumbled, so I blame all the loss on him only.

4th was amazing considering I lost first round of bracket and had to battle back game after game after game. It was epic. I am having a goal of getting first at the silver bracket this year. (FYI there is no silver bracket).

Second, I am finally finishing my masters next week and that has kicked my butt for months as I have been going to school full time. After two plagiarism incidents that were let go by the instructors, I am gonna finish! I am going to get the game back and this tourney is on a perfect weekend for me to make it!

The eyes of the world and the Tecmo Madison seeding committee are upon you. Play well, have fun, lose to the guys you're supposed to lose to, beat the guys you are supposed to beat, and above all things make my life as easy as possible when organizing groups for In The Ware Tonight. 

Just a friendly heads up related to streaming from last year, for some reason, the night before the Internet held up when we did the casual games streams/testing, but once the place filled up day of the tournament, it got worse.  I'm guessing a lot of Tyler's(bar owner) patrons have the wifi password.  Your mileage may vary of course, but I had to use a very low bit rate, and the day of the tournament last year, it wasn't stable enough most of the day.  If you have a dedicated alternative method for Internet like a 4G LTE jetpack, that might be a more stable option.  You could also just record locally, then upload later.  Otherwise, you'll end up with a bunch of smaller video files with gaps in between.

I decided to host Iowa Tecmo because the elite players in my area have to travel 185, 250, and 300 miles for us to meet up to play in a competitive tournament with more than just my local group.  The other dozen players in the novice category are looking to have fun, try their luck, see if this is a hobby they'd like to continue (aka growing the game).
My intention is not to draw players from Madison, Minn, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indy, Cincy, Cleveland.... and also understand that with that mindset my tournament will never have more than 46 participants. As for cohesiveness.  Tomczak Bowl and I negotiated dates to avoid conflict.  The 11/11 Iowa Tecmo conflicts with NY tourney... but its safe to say that nobody is upset about staying in their own timezone if they were torn which tourney to travel too.
My life/schedule only allows me to go to 2 events per year, so having more/less tournaments available is irrelevant to me (and anyone else who goes to their tri-state tournaments).
Tournaments bring significance to the game and offers the sense that your are playing FOR something.
In my opinion, the larger tournaments (mainly Tecmo Madison) have become cut-throat competitive (that's a positive remark) due to the experiences budding players pickup from mini-tournaments.  You can't compete against elite players at Madison (rare but possible) without SOME experience.... and some of us outside the mainstream tournament locations have to fill that void... hence the surge of satellite tournaments.
 
I marked my vote "Good for Tecmo".

Tomczak won't be until sometime in 2018. We're done with December tourneys.
 
I'd like to try to daytrip down for this. I'll check my schedule and hopefully register soon.
