Darth RockMan reacted to DFM in (Tool) Tecmo Super App - Android
View File Tecmo Super App - Android
View the NFL(TM) Players from Tecmo Super Bowl(TM) video game for the NES(TM) from the 1991 NFL(TM) football season. This application allows you to see valuable attributes for each team’s players, as well as a formula-based rating for each player on a 100 point scale according to their position. Offense, defense, and overall team ratings are calculated by the averages of the player attributes.
This application is a useful reference for those who are new to Tecmo Super Bowl(TM), or who haven’t played in some time but would like a guide to show the teams’ best players to help you adjust your depth chart. This is a must for anyone who is interested in going to any tournaments

Darth RockMan reacted to Beef Juice in Dubuque, IA - 3/25/2023 - Tomczak Bowl XII (IT'S BACK!)
Back for its 12th god damn year, it's everyone's favorite sweaty, beer-soaked, low-rent Tecmo tournament!
Tomczak Bowl is a double elimination tourney that has featured some of the best players the Midwest has to offer. Do you have what it takes to win the Tomczak and wear the glorious Champion blazer?
If you suck that's ok, because all two-and-out competitors automatically qualify for the Peter Tom Willis Cup, America's favorite janky single elimination loser tournament. It's like fifth quarter basketball for all the fat uncoordinated kids.
Aside from cash prizes for the top finishers, we'll be sure to have some other prizes that we'll give away in various challenges. It may not be an autographed jersey, but I can assure you, no expense was spared in acquiring our trash finds from eBay or Goodwill.

Sounds like a cable or power issue since it isn't in the signal. Play musical chairs with all the cables & power supplies. Try with your laptop on battery vs power supply too.

I'm sorry about my first commentator. He is a local friend that follows my channel and I took a risk on him because he's a funny dude, but he was out of control from the get go. Once we are done today, I will take the video down and edit out all the BS. His views don't reflect mine obviously. He's off the stream now. 2nd CPU/ capture card was not cooperating for twitch stream.

yea this is not something you expect watching any video game tournament being streamed from the announcers

Darth RockMan reacted to bruddog in Berwyn, IL - 10/14/17 - The Equalizer - Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament
This is like andrew dice clay commentating. Definitely nsfw.
I did laugh at some of it but crude humour doesn't bother me. Definitely not for public consumption
And its definitely not good since its the main stream being promoted. You can't have the commentator talking like that on the main stream for something being marketed and promoted.

For those wanting to watch the stream, It is very NSFW. I had it muted then unmuted for a sec and it was way worse. Sorry, can't support this. This is not what Tecmo is about.

Darth RockMan reacted to SteakAndEggs in Attention: Nestopia users!... proper color adjustment...
I've been moaning and groaning about the teams with red in their jerseys looking more purplish or magenta, instead of red.
Sorry, about that. I'm a nitwit, because I just figured something out that might help a lot of people, too.
I had NO IDEA that Nestopia has its own color adjustment, completely separate from my monitor's color levels.
To make the teams that have red in their uniforms look red, instead of purple/pink/magenta, here's what ya do...
1) Obviously, load the game into Nestopia. (I recommend starting a game with the Chiefs vs. Steelers. Two good teams for fine tuning the coloring.)
2) At the top, click on "Options"
3) Click on "Video..."
You'll see color adjustments slides in the upper right of the new window. Adjust them, as you like, (including clicking on "Advanced.") The reason I say that, is for fine tuning.
My settings are:
Brightness = 0.0
Saturation = 1.27 (This setting is very personal choice, of course. I like an extra splash of coloring.)
Contrast = 1.0
Hue = -10
Then I click on "Advanced.." below those scrolls...
In the "Advanced," I change the settings by manually typing into the adjustable windows:
R-Y = ... 120... 0.780
G-Y = ... 235... 0.330
B-Y = ... 330... 0.900
Click "Ok"... Click "Ok"... and you're ready to roll with team and field coloring as NFL as I can find.
Hope this helps. Woot, to all the developers. Go, Tecmo Bowl.

Darth RockMan reacted to Tecmo Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI - 11/04/17 - Tecmo Milwaukee: Who's Next? 11/4
Tecmo Milwaukee Presents: Who's Next?
Date: 11/4
Location: Boomers Sports Bar and Grill (Pewaukee, WI)
Player field projected at 48 players. Max players cutoff will be at 64 players.
Round robin of Division play followed by single elimination tournament.
Projected Entry Fee is $40
Game Rules: Tecmo Milwaukee rules/ Tecmo Madison rules
1) Teams will be tiered in 4 groups of 7 teams. 7 Lotto balls will be picked from before each game to determine which tier teams will be picked from. (1 in 7 chance for Tier 1 teams to be picked).
2) Coin toss winner picks Lotto Ball. Coin Toss Loser picks matchup. Coin toss Winner picks Team or Controller. (Player can only choose a team 1 time during round robin play. Teams resets in tournament play.)
3) Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes: Customizing playbooks is permissible. You can access your “change” screen (screen where you check player conditions and make substitutions) only twice per half. This helps speed up the games.
4) WR/TE at RB: A WR/TE cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. You can insert a WR or TE into a RB slot for lead blocking purposes, but he cannot carry the football. To further clarify, players such as Ernest Givins, Ricky Sanders, Mel Gray, Keith Jackson and Andre Rison cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse.
5) No Ties/Overtime: No game can end in a tie. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. If no one scores in the first OT, a new game will begin and the first competitor to score will be declared the winner. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in each OT period, the kicking team in the first OT will be the receiving team in the new game (i.e. the second OT).
6) Lurching: Lurching is prohibited. If you want to rush with a DL, you must either go outside the offensive tackle or “popcorn” someone on the offensive line. Note that this rule does not apply to LBs.
7) Nintendo Malfunctions: If there is an equipment failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start. If equipment malfunctions in the 2nd half, only the second half is replayed. In that event, the scores from each half are added together to obtain a final score. If the game was uncompetitive or the equipment malfunctioned due to human error, the tourney organizers reserve the right to declare a winner without replaying any portion of the game.
Tournament Disputes: Rico, Coconuts, Troy and myself.
9) Controllers: Tournament competitors are not allowed to bring their own controller to use in games unless approved prior to tournament. Tournament organizers will coordinate obtaining equipment for the competition.
Entry Deadline is 11/1
Email address: [email protected]
Top 8 places paid out.
Each tournament has been a huge success fielding a very competitive playing field coming from all parts of the country. The venue is fantastic with great service, food and of course Adult Solutions. Our set up is fantastic with game play moving fast and furious. There is large interest already for this tournament. Don’t miss out!
Thank you,
Hardy Nickerson

Format:
20 players maximum
5 groups of 4 players playing round robin (3 games for each player)
-Groups will be separated by skill level, past tournament experience, TPC / online record. Top players will all be grouped together; newer players will all be grouped together.
-Group play will use provided tier list for choosing matchups
All 20 players will advance to a single elimination playoff round based overall record in tournament and the draft lottery.
There will be a draft lottery for seeding based on your record after group play. It is based on the four possible record outcomes:
Record - 0-3 - 20th seed will randomly be selected here, then seeds will continue to be selected until there is no player that was 0-3 left
Record - 1-2 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 1-2 left
Record - 2-1 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 2-1 left
Record - 3-0 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 3-0 left, 1st pick will be last player selected
-Determined seeding for the single elimination playoff creates the order for players to choose their team for the remainder of the tournament. (Tier 1 is excluded) For example, the first seed chooses their team first, then the second seed, third seed etc. 20th seed gets last choice of team.
-There will be a championship game, as well as a third place game for the two participants eliminated in the final four.

4th Place
-$25 Gift Card, Play it Retro
-$20 Gift Certificate, Michael Anthony's Pizza
I'm locking in and guaranteeing all the prizes for this tournament!
Rules:
1. Tier list for group play. Winner of coin toss is player 1 and chooses tier. Loser of coin toss chooses team from tier player 1 selected or a lower tier. Winner of coin toss chooses team second from tier originally chosen or lower tier.
2. 49ers are allowed in group play with limitation. Either Joe Montana or Jerry Rice has to be on the bench. They cannot be on the field at the same time on offense. You can switch them in and out once per quarter and an additional time at the end of half / game.
3. We will not keep track of teams used during group play. Choose the team that best suites you in group play under the tier list guidelines.
4. Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes. You are allowed to change your selected team's playbook before each game. Checking the change / substitution screen is allowed during gameplay. Once per quarter for each player is the recommendation.
5. WR/TE at RB: A WR/TE cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. You can insert a WR or TE into a RB slot for lead blocking purposes, but he cannot carry the football. To further clarify, players such as Ernest Givins, Ricky Sanders, and Andre Rison cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse.
6. No ties. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. All OT’s will be 5-minute sudden death periods. If no one scores in the first OT, the second OT will be only the first quarter in a new game. This process will be repeated until a winner emerges. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in every OT period, the receiving team (i.e. team that gets the ball first) shall alternate beginning with the second OT period.
7. Defensive Lineman Lurching is prohibited. In this tournament, lurching is defined by user controlling a defensive lineman, not engaging a blocker, then diving at the quarterback or running back. If you go around the offensive line, you are allowed to dive at the quarterback. Going through the offensive line is permitted with a defensive lineman, but diving at quarterback or running back would be considered lurching.
8. Nintendo Malfunctions: If there is an equipment failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start.
9. Tournament Disputes: Tom Stahnke and Francis Mort Buennagel are the tournament referees. They will decide all disputes unless one of them is a player in the game. If one or both is a player in the disputed game, a referee to be determined will resolve the dispute.
10. Competitors are allowed to bring their own controller, but it has to be an official Nintendo rectangle controller, official Nintendo dogbone controller, or the official Hyperkin Cadet NES controller.
Live Stream: The Retro Sports Gamer Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_b9V5HP0eJZyLuhuEmDf_g
-A live stream will be set up for the top rated round robin group during group play
-Single Elimination Playoff will showcase a selected game during each round, the 3rd Place game, and the Championship.
