This list is for some of the top BBQ spots, a few of which I have been to: http://ny.eater.com/maps/new-york-city-best-barbecue-brooklyn-queens  Though I must question why BBQ when most of us Northerners are in awe of any BBQ south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Streaming is not only allowed, but encouraged!

CT Tecmo will be taking a 1 year hiatus as my wife is due to have the baby a short time prior to the annual 1st Saturday in December Tecmo tradition.

CT Tecmo will be back for the 9th installment on the 1st Saturday in December 2017 - thanks for making the first 8 Tournaments in CT a huge success & look forward to planning CT Tecmo 9 over the course of the next year.

If were planning on attending CT this year & bummed that won't be happening defin  plan on hitting Brian Rausse's NYC tourney 10/15 - NYC along w/ CT & Buffalo are sanctioned members of Northeast Tecmo.

I'll be getting there Friday around noon wish and leaving Sunday morning. Kind of a quick turn around, but it'll still be great fun.

I don't think I'm on the mailing list.

I was wondering if its worth it to rent a car or just use the transit system? I don't think I want to stress over NYC traffic

Thanks as always to Brian, George, Scott, Pat B. and everyone else who help out with the tournament. I always enjoy going to these things and feel at this point as if I am getting together with a group of friends to get together and play.

My day started off in heavy traffic and I actually arrived late and was locked out of the NBA Jam tournament where I was suppose to be paired up with Brian. Probably worked out anyway, because the NBA Jam side was on the opposite end of the building than the Tecmo tournament.

My tournament began with being down 10-0 to Kevin Smith aka Tadaos who did a great job on the day and it was good seeing him again after about 3 years. He was always a good player and I enjoy his company despite the Tecmo tournament going on.  I was able to pull it out 14-10.

After that I faced Ricardo, Bo, Scott S, Kevin, Brian and Brian x2.

The games are a little fuzzy, but they were mostly close. I faced Kevin the game before the final and he fumbled twice, but had a chance to tie the game at the end. After the tournament the trek back to PA was long, stopped at Red Robin and bought dinner for myself and my friends Cody and Ricardo who haven't been to a tourney since 2012 in NY cause I am soooo freakin nice.

The expo was a lot of fun. Lots of people were there. A lot of people dressed up in Star Wars, Ghost Busters, Pokemon and Street Fighter gear. Had a great time. Was great to meet George in person even though we had to head out because it was at the end of the day. I think this could be a lot bigger in the future. It was also cool to see other tournaments going on and people who are good at their respected craft.

    Til October in NYC.

Thanks to all who came out to make this a fun-filled day of Tecmo and retro gaming festivities!  Congrats to Matt D to winning (another) Northeast title!  After having knocked him into the loser's bracket, he had to beat yours truly twice, which he did.  He said to me before the finals that I was his kryptonite (he was 0-3 all time in tourney play before winning the last two).  Final two games were 21 (MIA) to 14 (RAMS) and 17 (PHI) to 10 (K.C).  In both games I had the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to tie to send to OT, but no dice.  Here's the top 5 finishers:

    1) Matt D.
    2) Brian R.
    3) Kevin S.
    4) Scott S.
    5) Ricardo I.

According to early reports, the Expo had 2,000+ people, many of whom were exposed to the glory of Tecmo. I also played some NHL 94, where I won my first game 5-1, lost my second 1-0 in OT, and then got spanked 9-1 in my elimination game.  Congrats to Tecmoers Scott S. and Dennis H. who took home 3rd and 4th respectively out of 26 participants in this event, a pretty amazing feat for guys who came mainly to play Tecmo.  Very special thanks to George, the volunteer coordinator, for reaching out to us and letting us have a space at the expo!  Details of the New York tournament in October will follow in the next two weeks.

Sorry to the Tecmo community this was not streamed.  We had not made a previous arrangement with our venue to have higher than their .1 MB upload that would have really hindered us from broadcasting.

However we have concluded a successful Iowa Tecmo 3 event.

Kyle Nelson from Exira, Iowa was our champion by dominating the field.  Kris K and Kramer were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The new Tag Team format was a hit, and it was Kyle taking that title as well with his brother Cory (Noonan) from Johnston, Iowa.

Our total participants to start the tournament were fewer than our originally interested participants.
Here is a partial list of our players this year.

We are excited to announce your chance to play in Tundra Bowl for free!

Each year, there are select tournaments that provide high levels of participation and player competition, showcasing some of the best Tecmo Super Bowl talent in the world. Within a calendar year, we here at Tundra Bowl will select a number of tournaments that, we feel, meet the criteria as one of the top tournaments in the nation.  The tournaments on the list will change from year-to-year. If necessary, the qualifying tournaments will change within the calendar year if there are unforeseen cancellations of tournaments on the list, explosion of talent pools, etc.

The winners of these tournaments on the qualifying list will receive their Tundra Bowl Entry Fee paid for, in full, for participation in the following year's Tundra Bowl Tournament.

All 2016 tournament winners on the list below will be able to play in Tundra Bowl IV (2017) for free.

suicideking81 got a reaction from rmm1976 in Tecmo Madison to end its run this year
doing a large tournament will have to be a group effort. If we in the Tecmo community help and support each others tournaments one could possibly grow as big as Madison was. I travel alot to attend tournaments even though my chances of winning are slim. I travel to tournaments because I enjoy hanging out with a bunch of guys who share the same interest as me and to show my support for their tournament. With out the players supporting each other these tournaments wouldn't exist.

As Tecmo Milwaukee approaches, we are GBLAN are going to put the equipment through its paces by hosting a tournament a week from today.  The stakes are low, but so is the cost to participate, only $10.  Standard Madison game rules apply.  Group play will be followed up with a double elimination bracket.  There will be no less than 8 functional setups.  Our goal is at least 16 players.  Any help getting the word out is appreciated.  Proceeds will go towards additional items needed to add to our game recording capabilities.

The tournament main system will be setup to stream via twitch at twitch.tv/trojan1979

suicideking81 reacted to Spring Break Vet in Madison, WI - 02/20/16 - Tecmo XII: There's Something About Barry
Thanks to everyone who played a role in putting this tournament on over the years!  It is a pleasure reading this and seeing respect being paid to The People's Champ, George.  Here are a few moments from last weekend that you may have missed:

    1.  The People's Champ captivated a small audience with an enthusiastic speech about his upcoming armwrestling tournament.  With a victory, he would start his own trucking company and get custody of his son.

    2.  While walking by a car occupied by three females, the Champ quipped, "I'm f#%#ing all three of you tonight!"  While these words were being spoken, a man was walking his four young daughters into the bowling alley.  The children's innocence lost, the man stated, "No you will not."

    3.  While impressing the local crowd at Nig's Bar (Wisconsin Dells) with the sweater taken from his grandmother's closet, the Champ took to the dance floor where he proceeded to put both hands behind his head while grinding on every woman over the age of 42.  While Cam Newton dabs, the Champ prefers to do "The Swayze."

Not everyone drinks Scotch at 7:30 a.m., but those that do become legends.
