  1. @Hank, there is absolutely no fee to have her watch. In fact, the more we have at the event, playing or not, the better. It's a great environment. @cacarat, glad you guys are able to at least stop by for a while. If we have any t-shirts left after they go to tournament participants, we'd open them up for sale separately. It's going to be great prep for Madison. While we want to make our own mark on the Tecmo world, we also purposely scheduled it at this time every year as a precursor to the granddaddy of them all. It allows a chance for guys to knock off any rust in anticipation for the March event. They run an excellent show in Madison, and we are taking a large amount of what they do and enacting it in our own tournament...with our own bit of flavor as well.
  2. Currently, we have players from three different states in the Midwest participating in the tourney - Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin. It's great to have that sort of representation at Tundra Bowl I, and we look forward to more registrants in the coming days!
  3. The t-shirts have come in! Are you ready for some football? Then register for Tundra Bowl I to receive your free Tecmo T-Shirt! Players will have their choice of color on the day of the tournament. Side note: lodging locations have been updated on our site to reflect available rooms at local hotels. Hope to see you all this Saturday!
  4. It's coming up quick, and yet, it's still too far away. The new batch of 72 pins is coming any day now, those Nintendos are going to be running like Bo...
  5. We've got about 20-30 people presently, with more verbal commitments for the event. Not sure how that compares to other first time tournaments, but we feel it's a solid start. We've got a local radio station coming in for next year's event, and a couple local news stations taking interest in Tundra Bowl I, so we've got a great news presence building in the weeks coming up to the tournament.
  6. As a reminder, registration starts at 9:00AM, with tournament play starting at 10:00am.
  7. Once Tundra Bowl I happens in Green Bay at the end of January, it's only six weeks until Tecmo X in Madison. Our tourney will definitely be a great measuring stick as to what I personally need to work on before March - have to finish better than 2-2 this year. All registered, ready to roll.
  8. Also, quick note - make sure to specify your T-Shirt size. We've had a handful of people not specify in their registration or through email. If you are one of the ones who haven't done that, make sure you email us through the site. We will also email you a reminder. Thanks!
  9. We got the first round of posters in today for Tundra Bowl I - just one of the many drink specials we will have on tap throughout the day!! If you haven't registered yet, please go to our site and do so! Retro4ever.com/tundrabowl/ Don't forget it includes a free Tundra Bowl T-Shirt as well when you register!
  10. If you all haven't checked out our PUBLIC Tecmo Tundra Bowl I tournament (on the NES) yet, it's coming up on January 25th in Green Bay, WI. It will be an annual event held on Pro Bowl weekend every year. Full details are here, hope to see you all there: http://tecmobowl.org/topic/56432-green-bay-wi-012514-retro4evercom-presents-tecmo-tundra-bowl-i/ and registration is here: http://retro4ever.com/tundrabowl/ Also, if you want to catch up on our own PRIVATE tourney, check out all the action from Tecmo I - Tecmo V at the link below. We play the current ROM on the Nintendo Wii, and keep updated stats, power rankings, player profiles and always have feature articles previewing and reviewing these tourneys that take place over at RetroDen West. A new article will be up in the next week or so - thanks for reading! http://retro4ever.com/tecmo-super-bowl/
  11. The length of time all depends on the number of participants. With sign-ups starting at 9:00am and the tourney starting at 10am, I know the one at Madison went until late that night. While we don't anticipate the totals that Tecmo Madison had, we are anticipating a large crowd. So depending on skills and and number of participants, it will end somewhere in the evening hours. As far as number of games, with our format of group play, you will be guarenteed at minimum three games.
  12. My best advice is to replace your 72 pin connector in the NES if you haven't recently. It makes most cartridges work like they were brand new.
  13. We are definitely excited for the new release over here at the site - we probably go WAY too in-depth with our stats, rankings and everything else. But, it's a credit to you guys and all of your hard work on the ROM, and we thoroughly enjoy it.
