Heard a rumor that the Cleveland Browns were planning on making a big play for Johnny J in the 1st round...if they actually show up that is!

Ok, I really do have to give Hank the old tip of the cap here: he has inserted himself into this thread. He has pounded away with his statistics. Over and over and over. And then he has ejaculated all over the place with his trump card: Peyton Hillis has been a coverboy and has rushed for 1,000 yards! But it turns out he didn't fill all the holes like he set out to do: the year Hillis was on the cover, he won a fan vote, so a popularity contest rather than a representation of his abilities as an RB. And as far as 1,000 yard seasons, JJ actually has multiple seasons over 1k. My favorite was HSTL season 34, where he rushed for over 1,000 yards and helped lead the Seahawks to a 12-4 record and an appearance in the HSTL Bowl. And his QBs that season were Tony Eason and Chris Miller, so no excuses about being carried - he was doing the carrying!

Ok, let's get down to the root of the issue here: Hank's negativity toward JJ is because he's confused by his intense sexual attraction to him. Which is not a problem: JJ is a stud. And, I think I speak for all Pacific Northwesters in this thread when I say that we welcome everyone to our discussion, no need to be embarrassed!

Good to see the com finally get on board with the back and b strategy that the Bengals were built on.

Is there a version of TSB that has the stat caps removed so we can see what JJ is really capable of over the course of a season?

Here are some more screenshots of my season: although JJ was impressive, I'd say the MVP of the season was Lonnie Young. He only managed 2 picks, but he grabbed 33 sacks! That 69 rs can be really dominant against teams with play-action plays. Also I forgot to mention in my previous post that I ran JJ from the wr reverse play sometimes when I was either inside my own 10 yard line or inside the opponent's 10 yard line. It was almost impossible to pull off with the juiced computer, so his rushing lines don't look good.

Edit: I totally forgot about the best part of the season. I was playing on kb. It was pretty hard to move around on defense since I'm not used to it, and I got my ankles broken by a few players, none more disheartening than Phil Simms.

Gave this a try, but I wanted to do a JJ JJ season. I used OG playbook with JJ at WR1, and also swapped Rosenbach for Tupa for about 3-4 games towards the end of the season because he went into excellent. Things went pretty well except by two losses came to New England (!) and Philadelphia. That loss to Philadelphia was crazy because Tupa (in excellent) threw 7 picks with Reggie White busting in on every play and also QB Eagles destroying my defense. Definitely the worst loss I've ever experienced, and the fact that it came vs the computer is hilarious. The hardest thing about playing this season was the combination of how long the play-action plays took to develop and Phoenix's leaky OL. JJ ended up with 106 recs for 5452 yds. I didn't keep track of conditions but JJ was in bad for at least parts of 5 games, but he still put up some really dominant performances, especially in weeks 14-16 where he went for over 400 yds in each game.

Yo: I'm thinking about dropping by for the preseason. Won't be able to stay for the whole thing, but it'd be great to see some of you guys. Although the fact that Ted won't be there makes me very sad.

Johnny Johnson was a once in a lifetime typa back too, he was just always stuck in sh!tty situations, and teams who either over used him and played him while he was still hurt, or under utilized his vast range of ability.....There is no doubt that at 6'3 230 lbs, the speed, power, running style, and coodination he had, coulda' been one of the best players in the NFL.....but hell, talent is only about 1/4th of it the other 3/4th's is luck.

(Here's a perfect example...If in 1990, Emmitt Smith was drafted to the Cardinals, and Johnny Johnson to the Cowboys, we'd be having an entirely different conversation right now)

Well I can attest to Johnny Johnson's amazing abilities. He's on my HSTL team, and I've been featuring a certain Mr. Henry Ellard so far this season. JJ had grudgingly accepted a backup role on the offense, but during my most recent game Ellard just wasn't getting anything done. My offense had thrown 3 interceptions and I had maybe 20 yards going into the 4th quarter. Well, Johnny J walks up to me on the sidelines and says, "Coach, just hand me the ball, we'll win the game." And wouldn't you know it, he ran for about 170 yds and 2 tds in that last quarter. We won 14-0. You might be thinking, well that's not that impressive. But that's not even the punchline: as he was leaving the field, he went on to impregnate every woman in the stadium and even some of the men too. Now there's a JJ story!
