In case you haven't seen this (you're probably the only person on the internet considering it's 900k+ views), it's been the most popular Tecmo video. Watch Bo Jackson in all his 75 MS glory run circles around a hapless Patriots defense (the Colts would have been worse), time and again like a man among boys. Watch the greatest video game running back of all time almost score, get bored, run back to his own end zone, and torture the Pats until the quarter ends.
While this thing has been doctored a bit (paused, slow motion) it's not all that hard to reproduce if you have a little patience.
Over the years, many people have come up with the idea of mashing Fantasy Football with Tecmo. In other words, picking players from the game, simming the games and compiling the stats. For the first time in recorded modern history, such a league has been started and completed.
Our championship game featured the High Powered offense of Warren Moon, Earnest Byner, and David Meggett vs the master of the close game in Barry Sanders, Bobby Humphries, and a couple of WRs with running plays. On to the breakdown:

Arena Football enthusiast "Elway" has released some of his graphics work from his upcoming release for this season's AFL. If you have some input as to the starting lineups or the ratings of the players, please stop by the message board and help him out.
Some notes on the rom
(COA mode only) It's what I only play, so the only mode I'll make.
(11 on a side rosters) I'm not skilled enough to remove the players.
(old school playbooks/ 6 pass 1 run)
(18 game schedule)
(Graphic alterations up the wazoo)
If Arena Football isn't your thing, Elway has been been putting out other roms for years so check them out here.
While he may have lost his championship runner up in Louisville the first day, TecmoBama runs away with the championship by correctly picking Uconn over Kentucky in the semis and to win it all. Special shout out to dean in deadlast for boosting the overall percentage rating of anyone who bothered to fill out a bracket.
Long time lurker "Sports Nut" first post was a great one as he rolled out a 2011 version of Baseball Stars! Also, TecmoTurd has released a 2011 RBI baseball rom featuring all 30 teams (did you know they made RBI Baseball with 32 teams?

Our old buddy Brad of TecmoBowl vs RBI was photographed last year in Omaha with his one of a kind Tecmo Bowl tat. Check out his website to see the rest of them and if you've ever wanted to dominate your friends in the original four play Tecmo Bowl.
Today there was an April 1st prank where all the traffic from TecmoWorld was forwarded to PureTecmo. Puretecmo had set up a series of fake forums for TecmoWorld leagues. Forwarding an entire site is a tricky task and it seemed to be handled quite well by pulling it back soon after and declaring "it had been enabled too soon." Given the past volatility of the parties involved, it was fairly understandable if some assumed this was going to happen on April 1st.
This was leaked out by an overzealous Mr. TecmoSuperBowl, so find more information here.
Greetings! Welcome to the non-April fools - April Fools joke!
For the last several months I've had conversations with our very own Maynard G Krebs about all sorts of topics since both of us had a lot of free time. Some of these conversations revolved around this very site and how to let other people know about it. One very simple fix he proposed would be to change the domain name to something to do with Tecmo. I didn't seriously consider this at first...why change after all these years? Over time this made more and more sense....a radio interview where I gave out the site url and then stated listeners wouldn't be able to spell it really brought home the point and the idea of Tecmobowl.org, a site I've owned for a little while, was born.
After I decided to change the site name, I shortly formulated a plan and time frame to change it and I decided what better way than April 1st. I posted this message back on March 11th.
This is going to come as a shock to most of you but effective at the end of the month knobbe.org is no longer going to host the Tecmo Repository. In a nutshell, I was given an offer that I couldn't refuse. Please understand this was extremely difficult for me but in the end the pros outweighed the cons. I can tell you that this is from a "prominent" member of the Tecmo Community and it's my hope that you find things in the future to be as good if not better than they are now.
As many of you probably deduced (Tony probably did well on the SATs), the site was to be hosted on a new url...specifically TecmoBowl.org. The offer I couldn't refuse was to move to a more apt domain name in order to reach more Tecmoers. This decision was difficult for me but one I believe will pay off in long run . I suppose it might be a stroking my own ego to deem myself a "prominent Tecmoer" but it certainly fed the rumors about what was going to happen with the site. (#1 being that I sold out)
Anyway, along with the new site is a new effort to streamline the way that the site brings you information about Tecmo. The truth is that there is a lot of fairly exciting stuff that happens all the time and the former layout was a failed attempt to bring some organization from the chaotic knowledge of the message board.
Going forward, here is the logic-layout of the site:
Front Page/Blog - This will cater to the casual Tecmoer and help to server as one gateway into the online community of Tecmo. (Social media sites like facebook, twitter, etc will be another way). It's a way for people to keep up with what might be new with Tecmo in terms of tournaments, hacks, etc with minimal effort.
Info/Wiki - The original TecmoWiki was initially hosted on TecmoBowl.org, there was a pretty decent amount of information put in, the Wiki was defaced by bots, i pulled the site. Eventually I fixed the site and enabled only forum users to edit but by this time the site was no longer trusted nor updated. It has been brought back because basically it is the optimal way for people to contribute to the combined knowledge of Tecmo and I've seen elsewhere that it's possible to run a successful video game wiki. When people are trying to find information about Tecmo Super Bowl I hope for this to be the defacto source.
Forum - The cutting edge of day to day Tecmo. This shall basically remain the same though I have been looking at switching to a different software.
I want to thank everyone who has been visiting and contributing over the last nine years. Without your presence, this probably would have just been another Tecmo fan site that eventually faded away. It's been fun chatting with you all and even meeting some of you.
Finally, I'm looking forward to the future. I think we can build something even better here and I welcome your help.
IP.Content 2.0 uses the term "frontpage" to refer to both the homepage of the Articles module, and the landing page of each individual category. We have introduced this new navigational structure to better allow you to showcase content, while presenting it in a standardized format that your users will be able to understand and jump into without assistance.
Firstly, you will now be able to define "frontpage" templates in the ACP for the Articles module. IP.Content will ship with 3 defaults:
1x2x2 Layout This layout will display articles in a traditional "news" style layout.
Blog format This format will display articles in a blog-style format.
Single column This layout will force articles to display in a single column, one per row.
You can use one or more of these frontpage layouts, or you can create your own. Experiment with displaying articles in different formats on your homepage to determine which layout your users like best.
Articles must be set to "Show on front page" in order for them to display on the homepage frontpage.
In addition to the homepage frontpage, each category has it's own frontpage. The category frontpage functions identically to the homepage frontpage, except for two important factors:
Only records from within that category (and it's subcategories) will be displayed
The "Show on front page" setting is not honored for the category frontpage
You will be able to easily review and manage the articles set to display on the frontpage from a new section of the ACP labeled "Frontpage Manager". We feel that this new area of the articles section will help showcase important articles and increase user interaction with your articles section.

In the past it was possible to login with Twitter and Facebook instead of your username/password. Over time this authentication broke because it required more encryption than this site supported.
Recently I updated the site from http to https and along with that comes a new slew of authentication options.
You're now able to either use Facebook, Twitter, Google, and/or Discord. If you already have an account on this site with the same email address as one of these services you'll be asked to authenticate to your current user account instead of creating a new one.
