SPECIAL NOTES FOR 2022: (1) I have tremendous time constraints these days and didn't think I would actually get around to making a game this year, but I decided to bite the bullet and get it done. With this in mind, please understand that my priority was expediency over accuracy, so you'll probably see a few roster gaffes. Please don't email me and ask for changes to be made because I just don't have the time. It is what it is. (2) Special thanks to SBlueman. I predominantly used his rosters (but not the player ratings) as the basis for mine. Saved a lot of time. His rosters are a little jacked up because I think his game utilizes multiple TE sets and nickel defenses so that's why you'll see nickel backs (they are the fast dudes with low HP) within the LB corps of most of my teams this year. (3) The Washington and LA Rams logos have not been updated. I've never been skilled with TSB graphics editing but if someone can send me the necessary code, I'll make those changes and re-publish with the new graphics. STANDARD GAME NOTES: This game, Tecmonster’s Tecmo Super Bowl, is based on the original Tecmo Super Bowl that we all know and love, but has been corrected, hacked and edited to a revolutionary extent. It's how the original game shoulda been made! To create the player ratings, I feed their Madden ratings into a spreadsheet of my own formulas that then spits out Tecmo-compatible ratings. You might also notice that I’m actually using the “Running Power” attribute as a dynamic category for offensive players instead of just assigning every player a 69 rating, as in the original game (which was, in my opinion, simply an oversight by the creators, or maybe just a shortcut to finish the game faster). I also changed its name to “Acceleration” because that’s its real function. All in all, there are roughly 40 different hacks implemented here (all described in the Preview Magazine and mostly sourced from highly skilled contributors at tecmobowl.org) and totally overhauled playbooks that better represent the modern-day NFL (like the pistol zone read, etc.). I think the final result here is a smoother, more dynamic, and better overall game experience, with a much smarter and harder-to-beat AI, while still keeping the game just as simple to play as the original. The greatest video game ever made is better than ever! FOR EDITORS: If you decide to make ANY edits to this game within TSBToolSupreme, then you'll very likely need to repair the rom afterwards because that program will break part of the moving grapple code and the game will glitch. So, here's what you do: I used the free Translhextion hex editor to create a file, named x3ffc0, and you can download that file here. I recommend saving this file to your Desktop. How you apply this file: open up your rom in Translhextion and jump to offset x3ffc0 (by clicking Offset > Jump To > then enter x3ffc0 in the field). Highlight (by dragging on) that byte + the next 48 bytes (49 bytes total), then: 1) go to Selection and click "Fill Selection with..." 2) in the pop-up box, select "File" from the dropdown box after "Fill selection with" 3) click "Browse" and find your file (preferably on your Desktop) and select it 4) click "OK" 5) Go to "File" and save your rom. This should fix the problem. Every time you edit your rom with TSBToolSupreme though, you're going to have to follow these steps directly afterwards. If you have a Mac though, I don't know if this will work. Tecmonster's TSB Preview Magazine 2022.pdf tecmonsters_tecmo_super_bowl_2022.nes

VERSION 5.25 Here is a collection of 1966-1994 Tecmo Super Bowl roms. I added the 2002 rom that I completed a while ago, too. It is by no means perfect or final, but I feel it's as good as I like it to be for now. I would like to thank all the guys at Tecmo Bowl.org., because it was all their hard work that allowed me to make these roms in the first place. In order to edit the players in a way that would reflect the seasons that the roms were designed for, and allow the game to feel and play a lot like the original, I had to assign player ratings that were similar to each and every player in the classic NES Tecmo Super Bowl. In other words, I had assigned the fastest running back (based on most yards from scrimmage, mind you) with the only 75 maximum speed rating, that in my opinion had been erroneously given to Bo Jackson. If anyone deserved a rating like that (I think nobody does, really), it's Thurman Thomas. He had a monster three or four years going, if you were to take into account of what he did on the field and where his team ended up in those years. But I digress. Although offensive players were a lot easier to rate, I found that offensive linemen and defensive skilled position players weren't and that a lack of info made them almost impossible. I can sort of live with that, though. If it wasn't for the internet, and Pro Football Reference.Com for that matter, it would have been impossible to edit any. I was at least able to edit the all pros for those years, making them the best at their positions. The basic formula I had to come up with when assigning player ratings had to be based on participation and production, not on popularity. Having said that, I had to be fair to all the players who excelled in seasons where their peers were either absent due to injury or failed to outplay their teammates. Keep in mind that some productive offensive players had to be replaced with Kick and Punt returners - with the lack of space on the roster, I tried to make the depth charts as accurate as I possibly could. (List of Edits) The 1966-69 roms for the most part contain Carther's rosters, as I had no time to edit them myself. I just wanted to edit the rom's menus so that it looks similar to the ones that I had created for the 1970-94 roms, which is to look and feel like the original despite the years that they were based on. There is supposed to be double base posts for the uprights in the 66 rom. Having said that, the upright cutscenes in the 66 rom are not all finished, mainly because I can't find where to edit two of them. Hopefully, I'll find where to do that some day, or even better, someone can tell me where to look for them. The playoff format works like it should in the 66 rom (thanks to Carther), but I couldn't fix the 67 and 69 formats that Carther created, so that the duplicate team playoff games are skipped. Hopefully, someone will post how to do that, as I don't have any inkling how to edit any playoff codes in the game. 1970-1975 roms contain only the 26 teams at that time. Team rosters and depth charts, as well as pro bowl teams, are all accurately edited to reflect their corresponding seasons. At least 99% of the players will have the correct name spelling, jersey number, for the most part his face image, as well as skin color. Accurate team city names. Accurate home and away game schedules and their actual dates. Helmet colors and logo designs, as well as uniforms, were all redone to be based on each year they were used. All playbooks were edited to somewhat match the team's yearly offense, but some liberties were taken to make use of every play that's available in the game. (game rules) 1966-77 roms were juiced a bit. Week 1 games will play like Week 3 if the player's team had been 2-0 in the original TSB. This was done so that a 14-0 win/loss season will play like a 16-0 win/loss season when entering the playoffs. 1966: double fg bases - to give it that vintage look before the slingshot design was made standard. 1966-71: hash marks are spread out (NCAA still uses this method) 1966-1973: 40 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too; front field goal posts (imagine them as being transparent when players stand on them, because I do. - field goal kicking length was increased to make up for closer field goal posts; ball will be placed at the opponent's 20 yard line after any missed field goals; no overtime in man games, as well as auto skipped games. Note: the overtime hack doesn't work as good as I would have liked it to - playoff games will end up in ties, but a random winner is decided by the computer anyway, allowing one of the teams to move on to the next round. This only applies to skipped games - "man" games will still go into overtime during the playoffs. 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1966: 4 team playoff schedule format. 1967-1969: playoff codes is not as is should be. Check above for reason. 1974-1977: 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1978-1989: 10 team playoff schedule format. 1982: short season rom contains the 12 team playoff schedule format, as I wasn't able to implement a 16 team playoff format...not sure if it's even possible to do this, anyway. 1994: 30 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too. All missed FGs will be placed at the spot of the kick. No two point conversion hack. Maybe one day someone will figure this out and I'll add it later. I hope. 2002: As a bonus, I added this rom. I had created it some years ago, but never bothered to post it on the site. Well, I hope you enjoy the roms. Cheers.

Have you ever been annoyed by Running Backs in Tecmo Super Bowl being so OVER POWERED? Or the way that uniforms that are supposed to be red are pink? Then this update is for you. Now this was just a little tweak on OP Half Backs and Defencive Linemen, you will not see a huge change but, it will be a little easier. I am trying to make this version as close to the original game as possible. If you have any issues please contact me at, [email protected] Thank you, -Joey

This is a rom hack of TSB1 for SNES I created featuring the greatest & most notable players from each franchise's history. Using the uniform mods from @TecmoTurd1993 rom allowed for greatly enhanced visuals. I used over 50 different rom hacks to find the ratings for each of these players ranging from leather helmet era and USFL players to 2021 Pro Bowlers. Most teams feature a troll player such as Vince Papale as returner for the Eagles & Scott Norwood as kicker for the Bills. Some of the sources I used were created by Knobbe, tecmoturd, mrnfl, tecmosuperfan, tombor, baron von lector, fernando 49, and qbvikings. I will also soon be posting a rom with expansion teams featuring the grapple, coverage hack, and tecmo juice with upgraded uniforms using a collab rom from tecmoturd and mrnfl. I decided to make this, bc my dad mentioned how cool it would be to play with Earl Campbell. His father passed away this past week and would like to find online leagues for tsb1 on snes. If anyone has any information about how to join one, or if you experience any issues with this hack please message me. Enjoy!

Some consider the 1990 NFL season as one of, if not the best, NFL season in history. Around the same time Tecmo was starting to work on blowing us away with the all time NES classic Tecmo Super Bowl. I grew up in this era and my NFL fandom was at my peak around this time. For years I have been working on a side project of mine, Tecmo Super Bowl Redux. I wanted to make a more accurate simulation of the 1990 NFL season instead of the 1991 season with 1990 and 1991 players we got. This is the 3rd edition I have released and hope people enjoy this variation of the game. There have also been so many hacks that have been discovered since I first took this project on back in 2004 that it inspired me to revive this project. Thousands of hours have gone into testing how the game simulates in both SKP and COM vs COM seasons. Some of the features of this game includes: Updated player ratings Rosters updated for the 1990 season - Players like Eric Dickerson, Michael Dean Perry and Brent Williams are now included Updated playbooks - No more reverses! Schedule is in chronological order just like the actual 1990 NFL season Team uniforms edited - All teams have a dark and light uniform. Team matchups have been edited so they use the correct uniforms like the games played in 1990 (Divisonal games are the only games where uniforms won't always be accurate Numerous color edits The game has three versions available: Vanilla, Hardtype and my personal favorite, Hardtype - P2 Road Hack. Here's a list of the hacks included in each version: Hacks included in Vanilla version: Disable Alt 3 Uniforms (shared by @bruddog) Main Menu Background Color Change XX's (shared by @gojiphen malor) Schedule Background Color Change XX (shared by @gojiphen malor) More NFL like QB rating value (shared by @bruddog) Player 2 Conditions Fix (shared by @jstout) Prevent schedule from being random (shared by @bruddog) QB backpedal animation hack (shared by @bruddog) Randomize sound loop used for each play (shared by @bruddog) FG avoid kick block fix (shared by @bruddog) Increase CPU kickoff length (shared by @Yak) Better COM punt timing (shared by @bruddog) Changing KR Speed (shared by @Knobbe) PR speed change from SS to actual PR player (shared by @Tecmonster) TE sim fix (shared by @Martin) Change offensive SIM to 'out of 32' sum (shared by @Martin) QB/PR ball control (shared by @jstout) COM Goes For FG w/:20 Left in Half/End of Game (shared by @TheRaja) Hacks included with Hardtype version: Add stats after quarters (shared by @bruddog) PA/PC hack - PC is INT and PA is target (shared by @buck) QB throws ball instead of taking sack and runs less COM Dive Tackling like SNES TSB I (shared by @xplozv) Directional punts (shared by @xplozv) Kickoff Wedge Return (shared by @xplozv) Onside kick hack better recovery rate for P2 (shared by @bruddog) Changing the differential for popcorning/ dl busting through (shared by @bruddog) Better INT returns (shared by @bruddog) Diving time based on HP (shared by @bruddog) Buck's TSB COM Juice Setter (shared by @buck) Find open receiver (shared by @jstout) Push/Pull Hack (shared by @BAD_AL, written by @bruddog) Hacks included with Hardype - P2 Road Hack version: Road Team Plays as Player 2 (shared by @bruddog) So take a sec to download this game and fire it up! The 2002 NFL season was one of my favorite seasons ever. It was the first year the league went to 32 teams, and it was the last time the Raiders made it to the Super Bowl. They did lose, but it was against the Bucs and their old coach, now current coach, Jon Gruden. The Bucs had one of the best defenses ever, with Simeon Rice, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, and Ronde Barber. Rich Gannon had the best season of his career, and the Raiders also had Jerry Rice and Rod Woodson. In their first year in the league, Houston Texans QB David Carr got sacked an NFL record 72 times on the way to a 4-12 season. That is reflected in the rom with the worst OL in the game. They did manage to beat the Cowboys in their first game, who finished with a 5-11 record. The Jets had a magical year, led by Chad Pennington (playing with a 25ps/81pc QB is so much fun), Curtis Martin, and Laveranues Coles. They beat the Pats and Packers in weeks 16 and 17 to clinch the division, and knocked the Pats out of the playoffs. It was the only year in his entire career as a starter that Tom Brady missed the playoffs, and the Pats had won the Super Bowl the year before in Brady's first year. The Jets went on to crush Peyton Manning and the Colts in the playoffs 41-0! They lost their next playoff game to the Raiders 30-10. That entire division was good, as the Jets, Pats, and Dolphins all finished 9-7, while the Bills ended 8-8. The Giants also made the playoffs as a 10-6 wildcard behind Tiki Barber and a sick defense led by Michael Strahan. There was serious talk in NY about the possibility of a Jets-Giants Super Bowl. This might have been the closest we've come to that. The Giants lost their first playoff game to the 49ers, who would then lose to the Bucs. Something else happened in 2002 that had a big impact on everyone reading this. Matt Knobbe created the Tecmo Repository. About the rom: I call this an old school rom, because it is cxrom's original 32-team rom with no graphics or playbook changes. Cxrom put in the ability to change plays in the middle of a game, and an options menu that lets you change the time. The weather option is a placeholder and non-functional. It was implemented in later roms, but I didn't particularly want it. The NFC West bug fixes are in, the TE sim fix is in, the player 2 condition fix is in, and that's about it. It's Tecmo, just 32 teams. Player attributes are largely based on the original, except FBs and returners in a RB slot have 44rs and 50hp. The only FBs with more than 50hp had a significant amount of rushing yards. Returners in a WR slot with 13hp have 50rs. I did the sim ratings on a painstaking team by team, player by player basis. Team and individual stats should usually end up pretty close to how they actually were at the end of the season. The only thing is Marvin Harrison and Randy Moss typically end up with over 2000 receiving yards, and receiver yards are a little higher than reality in general. QB Rating and Passing TDs are also a little high, but RB yards are pretty spot on. The Saints seem to go deep in the playoffs a lot, probably benefiting from the 3-WR set. Oh, and that AFC East is always up for grabs. You try making 1 of 3 9-7 teams always make the playoffs while the other 2 don't. That's just not happening. I'm going to have a lot of fun playing this, and I hope you do, too.

By popular demand, I present Bad News Baseball 2017. All of the rosters, statistics, ratings, and one team's uniform colors have been updated from the original NES game. The twelve teams included are: San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays. All of the teams from the original game carried over to this updated version, except for the New York Mets who were changed to the Yankees. The information found in a handful of forum threads made this update. What wasn't available in the forums, through trial and error I stumbled through and figured out. When comparing this to the original version of Bad News Baseball, this game does seem to provide a lot of offense. Keeping the opposing team in single digit runs is a great feat. My explanation for this that Bad News Baseball is a game played on the field by children (likely Little Leaguers). Bad News Baseball 2017 replaces those children with grown-up Major League men. When you put adults on a Little League field, most certainly balls are going to fly out of the ballpark. Enjoy!

The game is attached and so is the third annual "Preview Magazine" to the game. Madden ratings were used once again to rate every player. Here's a list of hacks and hack authors used to help create this: -- 32-team expansion rom (cx_rom, Maynard, Knobbe, others) -- helmets, field colors (keithisgood) -- COM looks for open receivers (jstout) -- COM Ultra Logic to play better defense (jstout) -- moving & dynamic grapples (bruddog) -- MAN vs. MAN popcorning (jstout) -- sort receiving leaders by yards (jstout) -- more accurate attribute labels, like “Acceleration” (Tecmonster) -- kicking arrow speed & range to make FG’s easier (Tecmonster) -- COM minimum kickoff distance (bruddog) -- increase kickoff ball speed (maynard, bodom) -- increase shotgun snap speed (jstout) -- tougher to block FG’s by adding personal protectors (Tecmonster) -- increase QB fumble rate (jstout) -- decrease diving animation time slightly (xplozv) -- decrease handoff animation time (xplozv) -- COM “juice” edited (by Tecmonster) -- PA affects “catchability/interceptability” of the pass (jstout) -- set kick returner farther back (bodom) -- Ball Control ratios edited so BC means more (by Tecmonster) -- static schedules from week to week (bruddog) -- Quickness changed to Coverage (jstout) -- kick returners use their actual attributes (konforce, jstout) -- stats screen at halftime (xplozv) -- corrected playoff bracket (pambazos) -- MAN-controlled QB rollouts on the rollout plays (Tecmonster) -- LB’s moved farther back from line of scrimmage (Tecmonster) -- Run & Shoot QB’s almost never scramble (Tecmonster) -- “heavy pass” teams don’t pass quite as much (Tecmonster) -- PLAYBOOKS (I have drastically changed and re-organized the playbooks to make them more useful, logical, balanced, and modern), including: (a) new plays, like the Shotgun Shovel, Shotgun Zone Read RB R, Shotgun Zone Read QB L (with QB HP boost), Shotgun RB Draw, Shotgun Zone Read Red Sea (pass), Shotgun Zone Read X Fly (pass), Shotgun Zone Read RB Flat (pass), Pro Set Quick Pitch L, Pro Set Quick Pitch R, Pro Set Zone Pitch R, 1back Offtackle R, 1back Pitch R, 1back Pitch L, Run and Shoot Fire (pass), Shotgun XZ Cross, 1back Flare C, Pro Z Deep Post; (b) improved blocking schemes for many run plays; (c) some receiving routes for existing plays improved; (d) some receiving routes added, like for Oneback Flare A; -- COM avoids sacks much better + faster COM rollouts (Tecmonster) -- shorter onside kicks (xplozv) -- COM RB reacts to the defense sooner after handoff (Tecmonster) -- smarter OL pass blocking (xplozv) -- receiver jump/dive based on REC rating (xplozv) -- defender jump/dive based on COV rating (xplozv) -- team rosters, jersey #’s, faces (Tecmonster) NEW FOR 2017 . . . -- minimum COM punts @ 50% meter (bruddog) -- QB’s Avoid Pass Block rating is more important (low APB QB’s are bad news, notable increase in passes blocked) -- moving grapples turbocharged (i.e. bruddog’s version sped up) -- minor player ratings formula and playbook tweaks If you do decide to make ANY edits to this game within TSBToolSupreme, then you'll very likely need to repair the rom afterwards because that program will break part of the moving grapple code and the game will glitch. So, here's what you do: I used the Translhextion hex editor to create a zip file, named x3ffc0, and have included that with the rom here. I recommend opening this zip file and placing the one and only file that is inside it, also called x3ffc0, on your Desktop. How you apply this file: open up your rom in Translhextion and jump to offset x3ffc0 (by clicking Offset > Jump To). Files available: (1) Tecmonster's Tecmo Super Bowl 2017 (2) Preview Magazine (3) Team Playbooks (4) x3ffc0 repair file. If you use this rom as a basis for a fantasy league like I do and you want the Draft Package, which lists players by salary, you can download it from the front page of our league’s website: renotecmoleague.weebly.com.

This is Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold. I started working on this Legends-themed ROM back in March. I delayed the release of this ROM for the simple fact that around the time of the originally planned debut, a glut of other "Legends" ROMs burst onto the scene as well. So as not to (a) get lost in the shuffle or (b) take away from the spotlight of other modders, I pulled my work. This delay allowed me to fine-tune this ROM into what I would consider the "gold-standard" of Legends edits (hence, the "Gold" title) previously established by my past Convergence ROMs. Each team is comprised of the greatest players in franchise history, whether it's based on talent, records, or the impact they left on the team (Players like Tim Tebow and Kordell Stewart are included for the latter reasons). In addition to the team rosters, the All-Pro rosters have been edited to contain the greatest players in the history of the National Football League. I've combed over this ROM obsessively. If there are any errors, please let me know. Enjoy!
