    VERSION 5.25 Here is a collection of 1966-1994 Tecmo Super Bowl roms. I added the 2002 rom that I completed a while ago, too. It is by no means perfect or final, but I feel it's as good as I like it to be for now. I would like to thank all the guys at Tecmo Bowl.org., because it was all their hard work that allowed me to make these roms in the first place. In order to edit the players in a way that would reflect the seasons that the roms were designed for, and allow the game to feel and play a lot like the original, I had to assign player ratings that were similar to each and every player in the classic NES Tecmo Super Bowl. In other words, I had assigned the fastest running back (based on most yards from scrimmage, mind you) with the only 75 maximum speed rating, that in my opinion had been erroneously given to Bo Jackson. If anyone deserved a rating like that (I think nobody does, really), it's Thurman Thomas. He had a monster three or four years going, if you were to take into account of what he did on the field and where his team ended up in those years. But I digress. Although offensive players were a lot easier to rate, I found that offensive linemen and defensive skilled position players weren't and that a lack of info made them almost impossible. I can sort of live with that, though. If it wasn't for the internet, and Pro Football Reference.Com for that matter, it would have been impossible to edit any. I was at least able to edit the all pros for those years, making them the best at their positions. The basic formula I had to come up with when assigning player ratings had to be based on participation and production, not on popularity. Having said that, I had to be fair to all the players who excelled in seasons where their peers were either absent due to injury or failed to outplay their teammates. Keep in mind that some productive offensive players had to be replaced with Kick and Punt returners - with the lack of space on the roster, I tried to make the depth charts as accurate as I possibly could. (List of Edits) The 1966-69 roms for the most part contain Carther's rosters, as I had no time to edit them myself. I just wanted to edit the rom's menus so that it looks similar to the ones that I had created for the 1970-94 roms, which is to look and feel like the original despite the years that they were based on. There is supposed to be double base posts for the uprights in the 66 rom. Having said that, the upright cutscenes in the 66 rom are not all finished, mainly because I can't find where to edit two of them. Hopefully, I'll find where to do that some day, or even better, someone can tell me where to look for them. The playoff format works like it should in the 66 rom (thanks to Carther), but I couldn't fix the 67 and 69 formats that Carther created, so that the duplicate team playoff games are skipped. Hopefully, someone will post how to do that, as I don't have any inkling how to edit any playoff codes in the game. 1970-1975 roms contain only the 26 teams at that time. Team rosters and depth charts, as well as pro bowl teams, are all accurately edited to reflect their corresponding seasons. At least 99% of the players will have the correct name spelling, jersey number, for the most part his face image, as well as skin color. Accurate team city names. Accurate home and away game schedules and their actual dates. Helmet colors and logo designs, as well as uniforms, were all redone to be based on each year they were used. All playbooks were edited to somewhat match the team's yearly offense, but some liberties were taken to make use of every play that's available in the game. (game rules) 1966-77 roms were juiced a bit. Week 1 games will play like Week 3 if the player's team had been 2-0 in the original TSB. This was done so that a 14-0 win/loss season will play like a 16-0 win/loss season when entering the playoffs. 1966: double fg bases - to give it that vintage look before the slingshot design was made standard. 1966-71: hash marks are spread out (NCAA still uses this method) 1966-1973: 40 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too; front field goal posts (imagine them as being transparent when players stand on them, because I do. - field goal kicking length was increased to make up for closer field goal posts; ball will be placed at the opponent's 20 yard line after any missed field goals; no overtime in man games, as well as auto skipped games. Note: the overtime hack doesn't work as good as I would have liked it to - playoff games will end up in ties, but a random winner is decided by the computer anyway, allowing one of the teams to move on to the next round. This only applies to skipped games - "man" games will still go into overtime during the playoffs. 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1966: 4 team playoff schedule format. 1967-1969: playoff codes is not as is should be. Check above for reason. 1974-1977: 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1978-1989: 10 team playoff schedule format. 1982: short season rom contains the 12 team playoff schedule format, as I wasn't able to implement a 16 team playoff format...not sure if it's even possible to do this, anyway. 1994: 30 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too. All missed FGs will be placed at the spot of the kick. No two point conversion hack. Maybe one day someone will figure this out and I'll add it later. I hope. 2002: As a bonus, I added this rom.     SPECIAL NOTES FOR 2022: (1) I have tremendous time constraints these days and didn't think I would actually get around to making a game this year, but I decided to bite the bullet and get it done. With this in mind, please understand that my priority was expediency over accuracy, so you'll probably see a few roster gaffes. Please don't email me and ask for changes to be made because I just don't have the time. It is what it is. (2) Special thanks to SBlueman. I predominantly used his rosters (but not the player ratings) as the basis for mine. Saved a lot of time. His rosters are a little jacked up because I think his game utilizes multiple TE sets and nickel defenses so that's why you'll see nickel backs (they are the fast dudes with low HP) within the LB corps of most of my teams this year. (3) The Washington and LA Rams logos have not been updated. I've never been skilled with TSB graphics editing but if someone can send me the necessary code, I'll make those changes and re-publish with the new graphics. STANDARD GAME NOTES: This game, Tecmonster’s Tecmo Super Bowl, is based on the original Tecmo Super Bowl that we all know and love, but has been corrected, hacked and edited to a revolutionary extent. It's how the original game shoulda been made! To create the player ratings, I feed their Madden ratings into a spreadsheet of my own formulas that then spits out Tecmo-compatible ratings. You might also notice that I’m actually using the “Running Power” attribute as a dynamic category for offensive players instead of just assigning every player a 69 rating, as in the original game (which was, in my opinion, simply an oversight by the creators, or maybe just a shortcut to finish the game faster). I also changed its name to “Acceleration” because that’s its real function. All in all, there are roughly 40 different hacks implemented here (all described in the Preview Magazine and mostly sourced from highly skilled contributors at tecmobowl.org) and totally overhauled playbooks that better represent the modern-day NFL (like the pistol zone read, etc.). I think the final result here is a smoother, more dynamic, and better overall game experience, with a much smarter and harder-to-beat AI, while still keeping the game just as simple to play as the original. The greatest video game ever made is better than ever! FOR EDITORS: If you decide to make ANY edits to this game within TSBToolSupreme, then you'll very likely need to repair the rom afterwards because that program will break part of the moving grapple code and the game will glitch. So, here's what you do: I used the free Translhextion hex editor to create a file, named x3ffc0, and you can download that file here. I recommend saving this file to your Desktop. How you apply this file: open up your rom in Translhextion and jump to offset x3ffc0 (by clicking Offset > Jump To > then enter x3ffc0 in the field). Highlight (by dragging on) that byte + the next 48 bytes (49 bytes total), then: 1) go to Selection and click "Fill Selection with..." 2) in the pop-up box, select "File" from the dropdown box after "Fill selection with" 3) click "Browse" and find your file (preferably on your Desktop) and select it 4) click "OK" 5) Go to "File" and save your rom. This should fix the problem. Every time you edit your rom with TSBToolSupreme though, you're going to have to follow these steps directly afterwards.     Download and enjoy my first official release since 2006! Special thanks to everyone who has contributed in keeping this community of Tecmo fans together. The progress that has been made since I last released an edit is amazing. This release would not have been possible if it wasn't for the countless hours and sweat equity that has been put into finding new and amazing ways to alter the best sports video game ever. This site is a treasure trove of notes, codes, and information. Hopefully it might get people who haven't tried editing to give it a shot because they would want to tweak something. So, here's what you do: I used the Translhextion hex editor to create a file, named x3ffc0, and have included that with the rom here. I recommend saving this file to your Desktop. How you apply this file: open up your rom in Translhextion and jump to offset x3ffc0 (by clicking Offset > Jump To > then enter x3ffc0 in the field). Highlight (by dragging on) that byte + the next 48 bytes (49 bytes total), then: 1) go to Selection and click "Fill Selection with..." 2) in the pop-up box, select "File" from the dropdown box after "Fill selection with" 3) click "Browse" and find your file (preferably on your Desktop) and select it 4) click "OK" 5) Go to "File" and save your rom. This should fix the problem. Every time you edit your rom with TSBToolSupreme though, you're going to have to follow these steps directly afterwards.     This is a rom hack of TSB1 for SNES I created featuring the greatest & most notable players from each franchise's history. Using the uniform mods from @TecmoTurd1993 rom allowed for greatly enhanced visuals. I used over 50 different rom hacks to find the ratings for each of these players ranging from leather helmet era and USFL players to 2021 Pro Bowlers. Most teams feature a troll player such as Vince Papale as returner for the Eagles & Scott Norwood as kicker for the Bills. Some of the sources I used were created by Knobbe, tecmoturd, mrnfl, tecmosuperfan, tombor, baron von lector, fernando 49, and qbvikings. I will also soon be posting a rom with expansion teams featuring the grapple, coverage hack, and tecmo juice with upgraded uniforms using a collab rom from tecmoturd and mrnfl. I decided to make this, bc my dad mentioned how cool it would be to play with Earl Campbell. His father passed away this past week and would like to find online leagues for tsb1 on snes.     USFL '84: Kings of Spring Features: -7 minute quarters -Stats after every quarter -Wedge Returns -Directional Punting -Run and Shoot formation for Houston -What If Players -'84 Rosters as close as possible (there were a lot of midseason trades, so I tried to place players on rosters where they made more appearances) -New Orleans Breakers -Graphic Tweaks, including funky end zones (watching USFL games I came to admire how bad the end zones often looked) -Stat Tweaks -3 team, 3 Division Structure -12 teams make playoffs (as opposed to original 8 teams) -18 game, locked, '84 schedule -All Pro: '84 All-NFL Vs. '84 All-USFL in Vanilla (slightly modified in What If--All-AFC Freeman McNeil replaces Payton) Built off the legendary USFL-WLAF hack by jstout and Denny, this rom features the '84 USFL teams, schedule, and rosters, along with a few wrinkles. This rom was tricky as I am still new to this. I looked to TheRaja's TFO rom for some structure. Clubs are split into three, 3-team divisions. The schedule is '84's, so clubs still have the same division matchups. I tried to order games as close as possible to their original times and distributions, as USFL clubs played Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday every week. This still got a little murky in the middle, but all schedules are as accurate as possible. This rom maintains TSB's playoff structure as well--six get in from each conference as opposed to the original 4, but, honestly, I wondered why the league didn't go with 6 just from a marketing standpoint. You got a new league with new teams, why not show them all off, a la the NHL? Once I get better at this stuff, I will edit down to a 4 team playoff. Jstout's and Denny's hack was invaluable--they did the art and logos. I did make some light edits to the helmets and logos--several clubs had "triple stripe" helmets, so I shifted them to the "40" code designation, with the exception of the Maulers, whose logo is placed in the Rams making that too difficult. I changed the Feds' big helmet to reflect the switch to silver in '84 and I edited the Blitz's and Star's logos just a little bit. I also took a crack at the midfield and end zone graphics. Special thanks to USFLFan (@VUSFL2018 on Twitter) for providing invaluable knowledge on the what-if roster changes. Reading about some of the league's near-miss signings inspired me to take this on; @VUSFL2018's Virtual USFL project provided a great guide and framework. There are two versions of this rom: Vanilla--the more I experimented with rosters, the more I realized I needed some balance. Vanilla has more accurate rosters. What If Edit--this is the counterfactual version, a little harder (not super juiced, but all clubs start 2-0 in terms of difficulty). This includes the "What If" Rosters. Note non-TSB players: as this is an edit, and if you are playing TSB for the first time, this rom lacks the 2-point conversion implemented in USFL. Also, no touchbacks on kick-offs. The Read Me includes a partial narrative and explains roster placements.

    This is a custom hack of the original KGB SNES game, but with all-time legends on every team's roster! I tried to include a bit of every championship era a team had on each roster, spanning all 98 seasons in MLB's live-ball era from 1920-2019. ROSTER STRUCTURES I kept the game's basic structure and fundamentals for rosters intact. What this means is that every team has 5 starting pitchers, 5 relievers, 8 (or 9 in the AL) starting position players and 7 (or 6 in the AL) bench position players. I also stayed true to the original's roster makeup so that nearly every bench has a backup catcher, 3 backup infielders and 3 backup outfielders -- except in the AL, where the DH's natural position dictates the remaining bench positions (example - David Ortiz's natural position was 1B, so the Red Sox only have 2 IFs on the bench). I think there are 1 or 2 teams that may have 4 OFs or 4 IFs on the bench, but the rest stay true to that formula. Generally, a player appears on the team he played his best seasons for. But there are some exceptions in order to get as many deserving players in the game as I could (example - Mike Piazza had his best seasons with the Dodgers from '93-'97, but he is the Mets' starting catcher in this game). Also, I made a rule that no player can appear more than once in the game. So you will not see Barry Bonds on the Pirates and the Giants, Reggie on the A's and Yankees, Bic Mac on the A's and Cardinals or Frank Robinson on the Reds and the Orioles. PLAYER STATS Player's stats are based on their 7 peak consecutive seasons of their career, with the majority of those seasons for the team they represent in this version of the game. For example, Frank Thomas' stats and ratings in this game are his 1991-1997 seasons averaged out. These same basic rules apply to pitchers as well for their ratings, ERA, Wins, Losses and Saves stats. Also, in order to really see every player on an equal playing field, the 7-year peak season stats/ratings are pro-rated. So for instance, if you look at Tony Gwynn's stats in the game, those are his 7-year peak numbers pro-rated to 500 ABs. All position players' stats are pro-rated to 500 ABs. All starting pitchers' stats are pro-rated to 32 GS. And all relievers' stats are pro-rated to 60 G. This allows you to look at the players on even ground, so a player who may have usually had 720 plate appearances won't have bloated stats over a guy who may have only normally had 500 plate appearances during his 7-year peak. PLAYER RATINGS/SKILLS Player's skill ratings also had a specific system I used. Using players' 7-year peak season numbers and pro-rated to 500 AB/32 GS/60 G, here were the ranking systems I used for each skill rating: HITTERS BAT uses the hitter's batting average in their 7-yr peak. Depending on the era the player played in, this can slightly change. So for example, if a player played during a high offensive era like 1919-1940 or 1994-2005, it's slightly adjusted and accounts for that. POW uses the hitter's home runs as well as Isolated Power and Slugging% in their 7-yr peak. SPD uses the hitter's Stolen Base attempts + 3Bs in their 7-yr peak DEF uses the hitter's fielding percentage as well as DRS (Defensive Runs Saved), dWAR in their 7-yr peak. In addition, I also took outfielders' assists into account. Likewise for catchers, their CS% was also used and plays a part in their DEF rating. With some exceptions here and there (like Jeter), most players with multiple Gold Gloves almost always received a 8 or better DEF rating. However, there are a few players who had great defense (9 or 10) that never won a GG and also a few who have won GG and had mediocre or only slightly above avg defense (Jose Altuve and Derek Jeter are good examples of this). PITCHERS SPD uses the pitcher's SO/9 innings pitched in their 7-yr peak. CON uses the pitcher's WHIP as well as FIP in their 7-yr peak. FAT uses the starting pitcher's innings pitched per games started in their 7-yr peak and a reliever's innings pitched per games played in their 7-yr peak period. PLAYER'S PHYSICAL APPEARANCES I tried to be as faithful as I could to all player's physical appearances. Whether that was physical stature and physique, batting stances, hair length and color, facial hair or skin tones. I think I did a decent job and hope you feel like the players match their real-life counterparts as much as this game allows it to. If anybody notices a mistake or something that may need to be fixed, please let me know! I will fix it and re-upload an updated version.     This game, Tecmonster’s Tecmo Super Bowl 2019, is based on the original Tecmo Super Bowl that we all know and love, but has been hacked and edited to a revolutionary extent! To create the player ratings, I feed their Madden ratings into a spreadsheet of my own formulas that then spits out Tecmo-compatible ratings. You might also notice that I’m actually using the “Running Power” attribute as a dynamic category for offensive players instead of just assigning every player a 69 rating, as in the original game (which was, in my opinion, simply an oversight by the creators, or maybe just a shortcut to finish the game faster). I also changed its name to “Acceleration” because that’s its real function.     By popular demand, I present Bad News Baseball 2017. All of the rosters, statistics, ratings, and one team's uniform colors have been updated from the original NES game. The twelve teams included are: San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays. All of the teams from the original game carried over to this updated version, except for the New York Mets who were changed to the Yankees. The information found in a handful of forum threads made this update. What wasn't available in the forums, through trial and error I stumbled through and figured out. When comparing this to the original version of Bad News Baseball, this game does seem to provide a lot of offense. Keeping the opposing team in single digit runs is a great feat. My explanation for this that Bad News Baseball is a game played on the field by children (likely Little Leaguers). Bad News Baseball 2017 replaces those children with grown-up Major League men. When you put adults on a Little League field, most certainly balls are going to fly out of the ballpark. Enjoy!

The ROM contains every original team in TSB3 except for the Oilers. The Ravens are instead. A complementary ROM will come in a few days with the Titans and Texans, removing Ravens and Browns. Features: Real uniforms, including cut scenes. Attributes completely customized for every player. Rosters updated to September 08, 2016. Free Agency Points according to the salary of each player. (This means that you could have a very good player, but his FAP value is low). Playbooks customized for maximize the attributes of the offenses. Offensive schemes designed for obtain the best of the players. Defensive schemes according to real. 2015 Pro Bowl rosters and unifors (the uniforms shouldn´t take so serious). Real Free Agents in the pool. (Mark Sanchez is here because I suppose that Romo will be back, not for much; so he is in the Cowboys roster, and Prescott will be starter, so if you want to have Sanchez, go for him in the Free Agency).     This is Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold. I started working on this Legends-themed ROM back in March. I delayed the release of this ROM for the simple fact that around the time of the originally planned debut, a glut of other "Legends" ROMs burst onto the scene as well. So as not to (a) get lost in the shuffle or (b) take away from the spotlight of other modders, I pulled my work. This delay allowed me to fine-tune this ROM into what I would consider the "gold-standard" of Legends edits (hence, the "Gold" title) previously established by my past Convergence ROMs. Each team is comprised of the greatest players in franchise history, whether it's based on talent, records, or the impact they left on the team (Players like Tim Tebow and Kordell Stewart are included for the latter reasons). In addition to the team rosters, the All-Pro rosters have been edited to contain the greatest players in the history of the National Football League. I've combed over this ROM obsessively. If there are any errors, please let me know. Enjoy!

It´s just for share. Fine, let´s talk about the game itself. For celebrating the 20 Years since the release of Tecmo Super Bowl III I created this ROM. Best teams of every franchise in the LAST 20 YEARS (1996 - 2015) Players and values based in Pro Football Reference records. Playbooks adjusted to maximize the players. Formations, Defense and Offense according to real life. Rosters according to the year of each franchise better performance (There can be the same player in different teams) Schedule system goes this way; 4 divisional games, 6 conference games, 6 games with the other conference (2 games per division). This way youcan play against a lot of teams. No Texans or Browns here (A ROM with these two teams will come in a few weeks). Uniforms were chosen to bring some variety, according of course the team uniforms and alternate ones. Complete new FA and Hidden players. The NFL Records optimized for the last 20 years, so you won't see Dickerson rushing yards here. A guide will be released soon.     17-18 Roster Update Pre-release All player images and attributes have been updated. I used "Dr B" mod NBA Live Hard Classic Edition because he added some pallet changes that look really good. I used DEJFATMAN NBA Live 96 editor to edit the stats. The stats were pulled from NBA 2K17 I plan to do an update with new stats for the 2018 season. Some of the player images and shooting hands need tinkered with. Im still figuring out a few of the unknown stats but i plan to work on that part for maybe a future or next years release. For now some of the season stats and the way some computer players are controlled are off but it works great for 2 player action. Sega Genesis DIRECTIONS when you start the game there are a few things you need to do because there are limitations with the editor i used. 1. go to roster setup 2. draft both teams 3. press start to forfeit draft, you will get an error message 4. restart rom Toronto and Memphis will are drafted correctly this way. 5. you need to set up New Orleans I have set it up so that the 1st team thru the Lakers (minus Cavs) have a player at the end of their roster that needs traded to the FA list. Once you do that start the game and select New Orleans from the exhibition menu and everyone will be in the FA list in order for you.

    After what seemed like endless delays, Tecmo Super Bowl: NCAA 2017 is finally here! As seen in the screen-shots, each team has its helmet included on their respective Team Data and Versus screens. If you recently downloaded my 2016 version of this ROM, you might find that this one is a little more finely tuned. Ratings and simdata have been fine-tuned so that end-of season leaders are reflected accurately vis-a-vis their real-life counterparts. In keeping with accuracy, the schedule has been reduced to 12 games, with the final week before the playoffs being set as "Rivalry Week." The lineup of teams is 96.875% identical (to 2016), with the only difference being the inclusion of Houston, replacing Kansas State. There are 32-teams in this ROM. In the NFC, the Cardinals ended up out.

    TECMO GREY CUP 2015 Pambazos88 and I combined to make this ROM. We used GRG's outstanding CFL ROM as the base. Pambazos88 did all the difficult work. Pambazos88 designed the Ottawa Redblacks helmets. Pambazos88 also fixed all the bugs and graphics issues we found and restored the full playbook. I updated rosters and playbooks based on the 2015 season and stats. Simulation settings have been adjusted to help replicate the 2015 season. The included eras span the 1950's (George Mikan, Bill Sharman, etc) all the way to the present (Lebron James, Kristaps Porzingis, etc). Using Basketball-Reference.com and a handful of Google searches, the player avatars and ratings have been matched to represent the real-life counterparts as closely as possible.     I take back what I posted a few weeks ago. THIS is my most ambitious project to date. I took the flaming pile of digital garbage that I put out back in February (Tecmo Super Bowl 1977 – NES) and updated it with 16-bit graphics. To go along with the visual upgrade, I went through it player-by-player and updated all of the ratings, jersey numbers, skin color, and simdata. I also updated all of the team simdata so that the SKP teams during the regular season play similar to their real-life 1977 counterparts. When simulating a test season, the game correctly simulated four of the six division winners. Only the AFC East and West were incorrect, and with those, the teams in 1st and 2nd flip-flopped. I updated the schedule in the game so that it accurately reflects the 1977 season. During the player rating editing process, I found the AV scores (approximate value) on pro-football-reference.com for each of the players to be a HUGE god-send.
