  1. Good post. QB is used so much Grogan probably takes it, but he can be subbed so maybe he's not the worst. RB's when Thermal goes down, you could make a case how bad his BU's are. And Leroy Hoard his fitting famous quote does hit the field as well when Metcalf and Mack play some time as Wr/TEs in match ups. WR/TE's are a dime a dozen but TE John Talley and his stats I think were assigned as "worst drone player" if you didn't have enough money to fill your team in the fabled ETC auction draft league TB OL could perhaps take induction if you counted OL as one position. LB Eugene Marve plays above his stats a la Johnny Johnson and has an award was named after him in the Noob Football League for a bad drone player who always seems to get sacks, and fumble recoveries. But I think there is a good case for Andre Waters as worst Tecmo player ever. He can't be subbed and is a complete liability on the field like Ryan Gosling in Remember the Titians

  2. Something tells me this is something Leif Powers has already done. Pulled from TSBTool *Criteria* Players who can't be moved around evaluated per position (RILB, ROLB, Center, etc) Players who can move around evaluated by position (All WRs evaluated together) Players out of position aren't included (Aubrey Matthews and his 19 Max Speed is a WR, not a RB) ================================================================= QB based on combination of pass control, pass speed, and max speed QB1 steve GROGAN patriots #14 25 69 6 13 19 25 31 44 [1 3 2 ] QB1 jim HARBAUGH bears #4 25 69 13 13 44 25 56 25 [3 5 2 ] Steve Grogan is universally regarded as the worst player in the game and has the lowest Pass Control, Passing Speed, and Max Speed of any QB in the game. Harbaugh and his 25 Pass Control grabs the other spot but you can make an argument for the slightly better passing Jeff George and his 6 MS. Cody Carlson is your worst backup though if you consider MS highly in these decisions it's Jim McMahon. ================================================================= RB based on combination of Max Speed, Hitting Power, and receiving RB3 kenneth DAVIS bills #23 38 69 25 19 50 31 [5 2 7 2 ] RB4 don SMITH bills #30 38 69 25 19 50 31 [3 3 8 2 ] RB3 leroy HOARD browns #33 44 69 25 31 50 25 [3 1 4 0 ] RB3 sammy WINDER broncos #23 44 69 25 31 50 25 [4 2 7 1 ] The Bills backups are rock bottom in the game. Hoard and Winder have slightly better RS and HP but are almost as equally terrible. Steve Sewell's 50 Receptions keeps him off the list but he's essentially the worst starting RB in the game. Marvin Allen only has 1 run due to the Patriots' Off I playbook so while he's technically not the lead back on the team he's the worst "RB1" ================================================================= WR based on combination of Max Speed and Receptions WR3 fred BANKS dolphins #86 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 9 8 0 ] WR3 terance MATHIS jets #81 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 3 6 2 ] WR3 vernon JOINES browns #80 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 3 7 0 ] WR3 glen KOZLOWSKI bears #88 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 5 8 1 ] WR3 leo LEWIS vikings #87 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 3 7 1 ] WR3 danny PEEBLES buccaneers #83 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 5 5 2 ] WR3 lonzell HILL saints #87 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 4 8 1 ] WR4 al EDWARDS bills #85 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 4 7 2 ] WR4 jojo TOWNSELL jets #83 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 3 7 0 ] WR4 brian BRENNAN browns #86 25 69 19 13 50 44 [1 4 7 6 ] Once you filter out Running Backs slotted at WRs you find the profile of the worst WRs in the game is a 10 way tie between guys with 44 receptions, 19 MS and 25 RS. Steeler WR Chris Calloway doesn't make the list because his 81 ball control gives you a slightly better chance of not fumbling. While Sam Graddy and his 19 reception ability is easily the worst for a WR in the game, his Andre Rison level speed makes him way too valuable to make this list. Derek Hill and Aubrey Matthews get the nod for the worst starting WR duo. ================================================================= TE based on combination of Max Speed, Hitting Power, and Receptions TE2 john TALLEY browns #87 25 69 19 38 50 25 [1 1 6 0 TE2 mike DYAL raiders #84 25 69 19 38 50 25 [1 1 12 0 ] TE2 tim JORDEN cardinals #85 25 69 19 38 50 25 [1 2 5 2 ] It's a 3 way tie for the two guys to have on your team who can't block, catch, or run well. Special shoutout to starting tight end Don Warren who is almost as equally useless and has guys like Gerald Riggs or Kelvin Bryant who are no-brainer substitutes. ================================================================= OL based on worst HP, then MS C randy GRIMES buccaneers #60 25 69 38 31 LG carl BAX buccaneers #75 25 69 25 38 RG ron SOLT eagles #66 25 69 19 38 LT mike KENN falcons #78 25 69 31 38 RT rob TAYLOR buccaneers #72 25 69 25 38 The Buc's line is made up of 3 of the worst linemen in the game which probably explains Vinny Testaverde's unexpected Max Speed numbers as necessary to dodge NFC Central lineman vs gaining yards. Randy Grimes and his 31 Hitting Power takes the cake. ================================================================= DL mostly based on HP DLine LE keith FERGUSON lions #77 25 31 25 31 19 31 [33 1 ] NT scott MERSEREAU jets #94 25 31 31 44 19 31 [43 0 ] NT greg KRAGEN broncos #71 25 31 31 44 19 31 [20 0 ] RE jim SKOW buccaneers #71 25 31 38 31 19 44 [9 1 ] There is a tie for bad NT. These are guys who are going to be locked up by OL-men and then slow should they actually find themselves free. Keith "Turd" Ferguson takes the title as worst DL-man in the game. ================================================================= LB mostly based on HP and Speed ROLB kevin MURPHY buccaneers #59 25 31 38 31 19 25 [64 1 ] RILB dennis GIBSON lions #98 25 31 31 31 19 25 [5 5 ] LILB brian NOBLE packers #91 25 31 31 31 19 31 [9 2 ] LILB scott STUDWELL vikings #55 25 31 31 31 19 31 [1 4 ] LILB eugene MARVE buccaneers #99 25 31 31 31 19 25 [25 1 ] LOLB george JAMISON lions #58 25 31 31 25 19 25 [20 7 ] George Jamison and his 25 HP secures the title as worst linebacker in a core that features a couple of Lions. Honorable mention to Joe Kelly at ROLB as his 31 MS cements his status as "worst ROLB to use to block a kick" ================================================================= DB mostly based on Rushing Speed and INT LCB chris GOODE colts #37 25 31 38 38 31 31 [0 25 ] LCB mark LEE packers #22 25 31 38 38 31 31 [5 20 ] RCB wymon HENDERSON broncos #24 25 31 19 38 38 31 [0 51 ] FS thane GASH browns #30 25 31 38 44 31 31 [5 28 ] SS andre WATERS eagles #20 25 31 19 31 25 19 [7 25 ] I think these players are really the only ones I disagree with @SBlueman on though they're all terrible. I'm placing more value on INTs and less on MS so Thane Gash easily gets the call for me over Wes Hopkins and the LCB tandem of Goode and Lee beat out other candidates such as Jerry Gray or Lewis Billups. Andre Waters is the Steve Grogan of defense and gets the nod as Defensive Captain of this terrible team. ================================================================= Kickers based on kicking ability! K mike LANSFORD rams #1 56 81 81 31 19 25 [2 ] P barry HELTON 49ers #9 25 56 44 31 19 38 [2 ] Kickers and punters are all the same speed and HP so it boils down to simple kicking ability. Lansford and Helton are the lowest ranked kickers with avoid kick block as the tiebreaker.

  3. We all know Steve Grogan is the worst QB in Tecmo (right?). Has anyone ever tried to create a list of the worst players in Tecmo? Or better yet, has anyone ever modified a rom to play a season with the worst players in Tecmo? That would be quite the challenge!

  7. useful app in a pinch, but... it would be MUCH more helpful if it listed the defensive players by alignment instead of by skill rank within their position groups... which is why i wouldnt use it in a tournament instead of a printout, to see the alignments at a glance
