  1. 2020 was a trying time for the world and this website unfortunately was no exception. Like most any forum/message board, TBorg was a place where you might find collaboration or conflict. Over the last few years there had been increasing conflict over in-person and/or paid entry Tecmo tournaments that seemed to provide some with the misplaced sentiment that a 20+ year old video game was some sort of fledgling e-sport to be capitalized on. This conflict unfortunately devolved to the point that litigation was brought against some long-time members, something certainly to avoid. In lieu of just closing down forever, the site is returning with a few noteworthy modifications. The site's forums will no longer be publicly viewable and the site will no longer make any effort to promote in-person and/or paid entry Tecmo tournaments. It's a hope this site will go about releasing new versions of Tecmo Super Bowl. It's a hope to take the 20+ years’ worth of information on this site and start organizing it in a more straightforward manner. It's a hope to return to the roots of the vision for this site: a site dedicated to the storage of Tecmo Super Bowl back-ups, the development of patches to update and enhance the game, and the retention of all things Tecmo Super Bowl related. It's a hope this site will be around another 20 years. Welcome back.

  2. Hello all, Over a period of years I managed to reverse engineer the entire Tecmo Super Bowl game into 6502 assembly source code with every piece of code documented and every variable labeled. There was a potential project in the works with said code but that project looks all but dead now. Because of that I am targeting the 30 year anniversary of TSB as the date I will publicly post all of the reverse engineered source code. -Bruddog

  4. Had this banner waiting on me when I got home. I have a true lady of Tecmo. I had so much fun this weekend and to win one of these was incredible. I was a little salty that they didn’t have a police escort for me as I rolled into my hometown with the trophy, but I think I might get a sign underneath the 2009 boys basketball state champions, so I’ve got that going for me. Big thanks to everyone involved, and the love from the Tecmo community after this was phenomenal. Something I’ll never forget. You guys are the best. Can’t wait to spend another day drinking and playing this game with you guys. It’ll never get old.

  5. As for every Midwest tournament, I'm so happy this weekend is over. But also, I'm saddened that it passes by so quickly. To date, after hosting 11 of these things, MWTecmoXI was by far the most fun and smoothest run tourney. There are so many people to thank: David Fulcher for being who he is and providing representation for not only MWTecmo but for the Tecmo community in general. We were able to raise $544 for his foundation on only 28 total participants. Do the math. I think that's amazing. So thank you all. To @AJFullam AJ Fullam, who is the glue to this tournament when it comes to the group play excel document that calculates where everyone is placed in the elimination part of the tourney in real time. Derek Ruble, who provided an outstanding setup for our live stream. @allamerican1569Tom Stahnke, who not only provided his livestream for the RBI tourney, but offered up his wifi hotspot after some technical difficulties regarding hooking up to Rick's Tavern's router with a hardwire. Rick's Tavern's two waitresses Caitlin and Kaylin for wanting to continually take care of us rioters. They are always great and supportive and eager to be a part of this every year. My wife and kids for understanding that this is something that means a lot to me. My brothers for always being supportive in my directive mentality during the day. Aaron Hake for running the registration table and manning the raffle gift table. My mother Diane who ran the raffle ticket sales for the first 4 hours of the tournament and Jimmy's girlfriend Destinee who finished up the last hour of the raffle sales. Mort for offering up his stockpile of systems, carts and other equipment. Our supporters Yuengling, Ohio Valley Beer and Wine, FC Cincinnati, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Pure Romance, The Sports Gallery, The David Fulcher Foudnation, Rick's Tavern, McKinley's Pub and The Retro Sports Gamer. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You can check out the results from everything at these links: https://challonge.com/MidwestRBIBracket2018 https://challonge.com/MWTecmo2018Pool https://challonge.com/MWTecmo2018Bracket MWTecmoXI in its entirety: Friday I woke up and finished the final touches for prep at my house. Then took a trip to pick up the tourney TShirts and some Yuengling donation raffle items around 1 p.m. ... I left for Rick's Tavern around 4 p.m. once my wife got home from work. Began setting up equipment immediately upon my arrival. The first two dudes that arrived for the RBI Tourney/Nintendo Night were Marc Z and Brian M. Nice fellas who came from the northern parts of Ohio. We had about 14 of the 28 guys show up for the Friday night festivities, which told me that it was worth having. The predominant reason why the Friday night event was a success was because we literally had everything set up the night before and could focus on operational aspects of the tourney the day of. Saw some Master Blaster, Tetris Attack, Dr. Mario, Tecmo Bowl, and others being played. It was cool. The final four of the RBI tourney was Me, Joseph M., Matt and Mort. @bigmv54Matt beat @mort1237Mort 11-1 and Joseph beat me 2-1. Matt took down Joe for the first ever Midwest RBI Baseball title. The event lasted until about midnight and we all felt it was the right time to pack up and get some rest, which surprised me. I had a hunch we were going to be staying until last call. But that wasn't the case. Ruble crashed on my couch for the weekend. Before we hit the sack, we made sure his stream setup on his laptop was good to go. The only thing we had to do was just set his stuff up, hook up to Tom's hotspot and we are livestreaming. Went to bed. Saturday Loaded up the remaining items that I had in my garage, which included the rest of the Yuengling donation raffle items. My head is usually in about 15 different places the morning of the tournament but seeing the systems already up and running when I get there made for a little less tense of the time. Mort grabbed what he could from his bag o' stuff and hooked up the 3 tvs that were not ready. Registration went without a hitch. One person no-showed but informed me the night before that he would pay at the table. Would have been 29 participants. So it didn't bother me one bit. 28 players it is. 7 groups of 4. Boom. I was happy. Setting up pool play groups the week of the tourney really helps me out in terms of small adjustments the day of. Not one single adjustment had to be made except for plugging my last entry into the dude's spot who didn't show up. It didn't ruin the quality base of each group as I feel they were as evenly spread out as I could make them. I said "ef it" let's roll in Gats' group because I've never played him live in a tournament and I was an easy No. 2 seed after dissecting the No. 1 seeds in this specific tourney. There really was no separation in the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. It was crazy. Derek and I put together a 15 minute pregame show on the livestream to give everyone a heads up on how the day would be operating and we also did some player profiles. It was fun. Fullam was ready to roll regarding the excel document and pool play groups were announced. The tourney began on time. My goal was to have the pool play groups wrapped up and the announcement for who is playing Fulcher in the charity game by 2 p.m. and at this point of the day, I looked at my phone and it was 1:57 p.m. Boom. Greg H. won the Fulcher Foundation game. We also allow Fulcher to play using the Bengals of course and the raffle winning player can use SEA, IND or NE. But Greg is a GB fan so we allowed him to use GB. Fulcher beat Greg 28-2. I will have to watch the game on the recorded stream to see how this all panned out. I think Fulcher is no slouch and could be labeled as a middle to low tier player in most tourneys. The Fulcher game raised over $100 itself. @JimSocks13won the Bucket O Liquor raffle 2 years in a row. He stated that all he wanted to do at Midwest was win that. He went home a happy camper. The raffle prizes were being announced while the Fulcher Foundation game against Greg was going down on the livestream. Fullam was finishing up the pool play results as well. It was a good transition so people weren't waiting to hear their first round game. I felt good all tourney. I went 3-0 in pool play which was only good for the 6th seed. I felt as though Gats wasn't with it during my game. But oh well. I take the win. Gats was ready for tournament play though. I could tell. The ultimate scenario played on the livestream with our last game between @RetroNathan and @diazhole. If Matt doesn’t win by more than 6, then Flo would get the 4th seed bye -- the last bye being the fact that we had 28 participants. Diaz won by 3 and missed out on the 4th seed and pushed him to 5th – no bye. We announced all of the raffle ticket winners. A lot of great matchups throughout the day with, what, 4 overtime games on the live stream? I think. Matched up with Brian S in the first round. Super nice local guy, teaching inner city kids from Cincinnati. Had a great chat with him during game about how hard it is to be a teacher. He explained that he’s more of a parent to them than a teacher, and I believe it. Talked about the ins and outs of Tecmo knowledge and he was open-eared about taking it in. He said he was going to go back home and tell his buddies that the community is worth the trek to these tourneys. I won 31-3. Next up was Jordan (Woodshed). Such a great and close game. Wish this was on the live stream. Couldn’t believe I (DEN) pulled it out. Jordan (WAS) had me up against the ropes. Won 14-10. Elite 8 was Mort. Snatched a first-drive INT which sort of set up my momentum. If I didn’t try to do anything fancy and play straight forward, I was only hoping to keep the momentum and not let Mort’s expertise strip it away from me. And I was able to do that 17-10. On to the double elimination Final Four against Gats. I picked DET-WAS matchup as a slight bait call. He didn’t want to give me WAS, which I felt OK with. 0-0 heading into halftime. Gats get ball and kicks field goal in third. I couldn’t muster up a decent drive at all and was hoping for a couple opportunities with a deep ball and some luck. Gats was on. I wasn’t. He wins 10-0. I have Diaz in losers fourth place game. I pick CIN-WAS matchup against Diaz and he takes CIN. Really don’t remember much of this game other than I lost 21-20. I was able to call the finals with Joseph M, which turned out to be a great game as well. Gats pulls it out to take the MWTecmoXI title against Diaz. I will point out that Gats accidentally hit field goal on an early punt attempt. Diaz professionally punted it back to him. Gats got the originally planned punt off to Diaz. At this level, those two players are far more than qualified to make their own decisions regarding a situation like that for what was at stake, without having to get commishes involved. Gats was extremely humbled for Diaz’s kind gesture. And no hard feelings were expressed, assuming any other Tecmoer at this level would have done the same thing. Unfortunately, you’ve lost roughly 40 seconds of the first half because the ball was in the air when it shouldn’t have been. Clean up ensued following the tourney. I was worried I didn’t bring any of my equipment home it was such a blur. The only thing I was worried about was our 5 Tecmo carts and 4 RBI carts. Matt has them all. I think. LOL. The debate was where to go after the tournament. As we are cleaning up, my wife texted me and said just come home and we can sit by a fire outside and swim. I happily, and drunkingly, invited everyone over to my house. Literally everyone. Our house turned into a frat house. JoeyGats was chilling at a table eating Arbys. My bathroom downstairs smelled like piss toward the end of the night. Hendershot handed me his credit card and forced me to buy 5 pizzas from Papa Johns. They were devoured within minutes. We set up shop with a station and played team Tecmo in my living room. @Super DuperKrebs and I were a team. I forget how we did. RetroNate and Matty V were a team, and I think they won a couple straight games. I enjoyed a conversation about music with RetroNate. We jammed on some tunes in my downstairs living area. It was awesome. Pretty sure RetroNathan, Ruble, my wife and some others sat outside around the fire the entire time. Krebs and I took a dip in my pool and talked about how my brother Joey ditched up for the Manchester United-Liverpool soccer match at the Big House in Ann Arbor. We were both pissed at him. LOL. @joeygatsGats and my two year old son were chilling on the couch next to each other, Gats playing on his phone, my son on my phone in his diaper. It might be one of the most epic photos I’ve ever seen. @tecmoninjaHendershot took the photo and said, “Look at this pic.” It melted my heart that Gavin and Gats bonded. Gavin and Gats are two of the best GOATS ever. I really didn’t feel like I had to rush everyone out the door because it was already 2 a.m. and many people had to wake up early enough to get home Sunday. I think I offered people to crash at my house if they weren’t able to drive. But there were enough people in each caravan who were able to drive safely. Ruble was the only one who snagged a couch overnight Saturday. I didn’t really know what to expect when I woke up the next morning. Woke up with my swim trunks on still. GG. Long. Live. Tecmo. #.url

SPECIAL NOTES FOR 2022: (1) I have tremendous time constraints these days and didn't think I would actually get around to making a game this year, but I decided to bite the bullet and get it done. With this in mind, please understand that my priority was expediency over accuracy, so you'll probably see a few roster gaffes. Please don't email me and ask for changes to be made because I just don't have the time. It is what it is. (2) Special thanks to SBlueman. I predominantly used his rosters (but not the player ratings) as the basis for mine. Saved a lot of time. His rosters are a little jacked up because I think his game utilizes multiple TE sets and nickel defenses so that's why you'll see nickel backs (they are the fast dudes with low HP) within the LB corps of most of my teams this year. (3) The Washington and LA Rams logos have not been updated. I've never been skilled with TSB graphics editing but if someone can send me the necessary code, I'll make those changes and re-publish with the new graphics. STANDARD GAME NOTES: This game, Tecmonster’s Tecmo Super Bowl, is based on the original Tecmo Super Bowl that we all know and love, but has been corrected, hacked and edited to a revolutionary extent. It's how the original game shoulda been made! To create the player ratings, I feed their Madden ratings into a spreadsheet of my own formulas that then spits out Tecmo-compatible ratings. You might also notice that I’m actually using the “Running Power” attribute as a dynamic category for offensive players instead of just assigning every player a 69 rating, as in the original game (which was, in my opinion, simply an oversight by the creators, or maybe just a shortcut to finish the game faster). I also changed its name to “Acceleration” because that’s its real function. All in all, there are roughly 40 different hacks implemented here (all described in the Preview Magazine and mostly sourced from highly skilled contributors at tecmobowl.org) and totally overhauled playbooks that better represent the modern-day NFL (like the pistol zone read, etc.). I think the final result here is a smoother, more dynamic, and better overall game experience, with a much smarter and harder-to-beat AI, while still keeping the game just as simple to play as the original. The greatest video game ever made is better than ever! FOR EDITORS: If you decide to make ANY edits to this game within TSBToolSupreme, then you'll very likely need to repair the rom afterwards because that program will break part of the moving grapple code and the game will glitch. So, here's what you do: I used the free Translhextion hex editor to create a file, named x3ffc0, and you can download that file here. I recommend saving this file to your Desktop. How you apply this file: open up your rom in Translhextion and jump to offset x3ffc0 (by clicking Offset > Jump To > then enter x3ffc0 in the field). Highlight (by dragging on) that byte + the next 48 bytes (49 bytes total), then: 1) go to Selection and click "Fill Selection with..." 2) in the pop-up box, select "File" from the dropdown box after "Fill selection with" 3) click "Browse" and find your file (preferably on your Desktop) and select it 4) click "OK" 5) Go to "File" and save your rom. This should fix the problem. Every time you edit your rom with TSBToolSupreme though, you're going to have to follow these steps directly afterwards. If you have a Mac though, I don't know if this will work. Tecmonster's TSB Preview Magazine 2022.pdf tecmonsters_tecmo_super_bowl_2022.nes

  9. Hear ye, Hear ye. The following describes not a tournament per se, but rather a live console season in which many games will be played at the same time rather than having to wait for 1 game. All season stats will not only be available for perusal on the game roms but also updated on our CFT Phile as we proceed. The goal is to give all owners as close to the original live tecmo season experience as possible, without taking so much time to complete, and with all teams closer to each other in overall attributes. In so doing, we all accept our fates and acknowledge the greatness that is the Tecmo Super Deities, and their love that will rein down upon us in all its forms and greatness, whether it be the JJs, the CCs, the condition or injury love/hate, and that most barbarous and diabolical form... THE JEALOUSY! Our goal is also to have at least 12 (more is possible) owners join for festivities. Location: Kamp's Garage (address will be emailed to all parties involved) Date/Time: July 28, 2018. Begin at 9AM Pacific Time. YES 9AM DAMMIT! Cost: $10 (Super Bowl Winner collects all monies) All Praises to the Tecmo Gods Streamed? YAS! The goal is to Record all games and Stream one to two games at a time (depending on how the game(s) are shaping up. But not two complete games at the same time) Yes Inspired by the Red Zone Channel and other similar stream styles where multiple games can be displayed. Streams will be on https://www.twitch.tv/kamphuna8/ Season 1 Videos can be accessed there or on the youtube playlist that follows. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3icdCQkyCZ6K_89RktFbQvh3FTYGFTdg Website: http://www.pnw.puretecmo.com/main/main.php (has rosters) Format and Draft: All games will be played on NES Consoles using Everdrive Flash Carts. Teams will be drafted in a non-Snake format using the attached Spreadsheet. Draft order will be based on previous year's performance. Those that were not there will be placed according to my discretion. The draft will be similar to HSTL format in terms of rosters. Each position group including QBs (x2) RBs (x4) WR/TEs (x6) OL (x5) DL (x3) LB (x4) DB (x4) will be drafted by each owner. All the OL, DL, LB and DB tandems are going to be locked in to their alignment that is on the original Tecmo Super Bowl rom. No WRs or TEs can carry the ball on a RB run play. A salary cap will also be utilized (according to the tecmo_salary_cap.xlsx spreadsheet from @bruddog ) where no team can go over the $100 mark. K/P will all have the same attributes (50 50 I believe) and Owners can provide names and faces for their idiot kickers. A night will be organized and announced for the draft on our discord channel. I'm going to suggest our draft be over the actual NFL Draft weekend, sometime from April 26 to 28th. Linked Resources follow >>>> CFT Draft Template and CFT 1 Draft CFT Season 2 Draft will begin Friday April 20 at 4:20pm Cascadia time. This will be a rolling draft, meaning that technically there is no time limit or expectation that we are all tied to be present at the same time. Picks will be made through discord and I will solely update them in the Google sheet we will use. The draft order is based on season 1's results and the guys who didn't play season 1, I inserted them where I think was most fair according to Cascadia Tecmo History and impending shenaniGGans. Here is the link to the Google Sheet -------> CFT 2 Draft The Draft order is as follows. 1. larrybird33 2. joeyhoneybee 3. @~Tailback King~ 4. @TheProfessor 5. @Polish Rifle 6. @Tick 7. @boogiewithstu 8. @manYo720 9. @fairfensheeding 10. @gripsmoke 11. @invader_star64 12. @XtraLargent 13. @DT. 14. @kamphuna8 Regular Season: Regular season will be in a Round Robin format with everyone playing everyone else. There will be 2 conferences (no divisions in the conferences) with at least 6 teams in each conference. This will limit the choices for owners joining in Season 2. For owners that participated in CFT Season 1, the same teams will be used (this may change, I just have to flesh out the implications of how it will all be displayed and accessed when looking at team histories on the CFT Phile) Actually, I think there's no problem changing Franchises. We're not a dynasty league..yet. If we get exactly 12 players, it will be an 11 game season and with a 9AM start time, we should be finished with the regular season by 7pm. With the current setup, we will have at least 3 stations to play all the games. Potentially 4, but either way, with 6 games per regular season week, it will take at least the time it normally takes to complete two TSB games to finish each week. Conditions and injuries will function as they would on a normal console Regular Season, with conditions carrying over from week to week, and injuries that can result in a player missing up to two more games after the game in which the injury occurred. ALL HAIL THE Tecmo Super Deities! Playoffs!!?!: After the Regular Season concludes, the playoffs will all be played on one console with each playoff game streamed. Playoff seeds will be determined using Tecmo Super Bowl's tiebreaker logic, with teams in each conference seeded from 1 thru 6 according to regular season record, and the tiebreaker is point differential. In the event of a tie with same point differential, the team that won the regular season matchup will get the higher seed. Top 2 seeds in each conference get that Wild Card Round bye. The final regular season Rom save will be hacked to place the 12 playoff teams into the TSB Playoff bracket. The Playoffs will determine the Cascadia Effin' Tecmo Super Champion for Season 2! But I will reserve right to lay the law if need be. THE REST OF THIS POST IS HIGHLY TECHNICAL AND NERDY. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK... Visions for the future: This will continue to be a summer event going forward. Eventually I would like to grow this to be a 16 game season. This could be done over one weekend (2 days or 3) or spread over over more time (1 day on consecutive weekends or something like that) With still around 12 players I could still do it in my garage and we could do a 16 game season where each team plays each of the other 5 same conference teams twice and the opposite conference teams once 5x2 + 6 = 16. I know thats a lot of tecmo to play in a short time, so we'll see how that develops. I also hope to get some non PNW KampBuddies out to future CFT seasons. I envision pairs of tecmo brethren from around the same region could take a tecmocation out here to the PNW where it's pretty much great weather once you get past July 4th, and usually before hand as well. Like my Chicago chaffeurs to Madison @modeezie and @toolie, B&G Vets @stalltalk and @MattyD, NTF brethren @chiefsjr83 and @redskinsfan1124 , and @arncoem and @baxterbear12 . Other considerations include making this a regional event, holding part or whole seasons in different PNW locales and providing time to take in the scenery wherever it may be, and perhaps some local haunts. Another potential for the future is to carry forward with the goal of having a dynasty type season setup starting in the 60s like Manyo planned (or perhaps the 20s like my nerdy ass would want) and do a few short seasons a year during the Feb to Jun or July months (like Manyo planned originally for dates on the 3rd Saturday of each month). Hacks included on Rom: The goal is to have these hacks (mostly for stat purposes) while not affecting any change in the actual game play itself when compared to playing a TSB Season on an actual TSB Cart and NES console. Tapmeter - Counts and displays taps in man grapples. Play Preseason Games in Season-Mode - Allows us to play in preseason yet still have stats kept, and use the Season Mode space for the other hacks we need (if I'm not mistaken). Injuries in ALL Modes - Toggles injuries for our set up playing our games as Preseason Games in Season Mode No Fumbles in End Zone - To prevent loss of stats. This may be adjusted if it's possible to hack the game to allow End Zone fumbles (cuz the feeling of forcing one is SO DELICIOUS) without losing the stats. Still waiting for an answer to that question. Keep Quarter Scores Intact if game goes to OT - If this hack is not included, then the scoreboard on the recap page does not accurately display the scores in each quarter, as you can see here in these epic (and only) OT contests from Season 1 involving @invader_star64 . Here vs @DT. http://www.pnw.puretecmo.com/main/dsp_recap.php?gID=40 and then here in an elimination game vs @Tick http://www.pnw.puretecmo.com/main/dsp_recap.php?gID=46 Track Fumbles - Shows each teams number of fumbles and fumbles lost in the recap. Track Time of Possession - Allows us to see Time of Possession for each team in the recap. We found a bug in this one because it uses space that we are using that online leagues do not, which causes BUF QB1 (John Elway in our Season 1 rom tests) to accumulate weird stats when not even playing any games, like lots of passes and 100% completion rate of those passes for very minimal yards and TDs and a TON of INTS. So the set commands will be a little different for our league. Will update when fixed. Recording Tackles - Tackle stats on recap and stat pages. Player 2 Conditions Fix - Fixes the display of attributes to match the conditions for P2. Other potential hacks are in the works, however none are meant to affect gameplay. Mostly they will be for additional stats. I'm hoping to be able to track some other things like JJs, CCs, picked plays, Yards after Catch, maybe individual player's fumble stats, JJ ints thrown and caught, Passes Defensed. Forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. Not sure how much we can fit and logistically do before this season, but hopefully we get a good deal of them. Also toying with the idea of randomizing the sound loop for each play. How this will work: First of all a lot of thanks and gratitude must go out to the Godfather @Knobbe and @davefmurray for their contributions in ensuring this site meets the needs of all our tecmo brethren. Much thanks also to all those who share how to hack this in such a way we can enjoy it in this fashion. @jstout has shared so much (and was always very helpful when I would bug him about stuff a couple years back) and @bruddog for basically being the shining beacon of hope that allows us to not only approach doing this, but get the support to troubleshoot and basically provide so much of his time and resources so generously. Much thanks and praises also to @brookstonfowler for his help with our CFT Phile. Getting Started with the Regular Season: The way we are able to do this is through using the rom created with aforementioned hacks on an Everdrive. We start by using the initial rom on all the Everdrives SD cards for week 1 and playing in preseason. I'm not sure if we need to set Team Control for each team to Man in the Season Game menu for our regular season games, but we will have to for the playoffs. After each game, a state is taken from the Everdrive and the ED's SD card is pulled. From the SD card, the state is saved to the CPU, then run through an Everdrive State Converter (linked below) which converts the state to a Nestopia like state which can then be uploaded to our Website (CFT Phile). Each Save State from Week 1 (in its Everdrive form I believe) is then merged with the other Save States from Week 1, one at a time (to the previously merged save state) using a tool Bruddog "whipped up" and the final version (Rom aka Save State) after all the Week 1 states are merged will be labeled as our Week 2 rom, and then copied to the ED's SD cards to be used for Week 2's games. This process will be used all the way through the completion of the regular season. Regular season stats and standings will be available to peruse on the rom and cartridge itself, as well as on the CFT Phile website, which will be updated with each game uploaded right after completion. There were some logistical concerns and flat out problems in our efforts for season 1 that will inform how we make season 2 and beyond happen. Problem number 1 was that we were unable to get the merges to work properly and consistently during the first season and the reasons included a lack of familiarity with best practices for making saves visible on the SD card and then trying to make a lot of this stuff work without allowing enough time to test it out before Game Day. Luckily we were able to manage to get the saves to show on the SD card using the knowledge we had (basically, after saving the state with a Select and Start button push, the state saved would not actually be saved on the SD card itself until a different rom was loaded). The end result was that we essentially played every game in season 1 with the same rom, but for each game, the rom's name was changed to include the week number and teams involved in order to ensure each file was named to clearly describe what it held. I also used a protocol for saving and converting these states for upload that included the creation of file folders for each week and game, and in each game's folder was an extra folder for the actual converted to nestopia state format since the names of both pre and post converted states were identical. Long story short, I was creating a lot of the folders while also going forward with the conversions and uploads and there was a lot of wait time for everyone else before the next set of games could be played. My plan to improve the logistics include having all the folders created for each week before hand, as well as to have extra SD cards so that when, for instance, the first 3 or 4 games of a given week are played, those SD cards can be pulled from the Everdrives and be replaced with other SD cards that have the rom for the rest of that week's games on them while the work to convert, upload and merge is being done. I'll also try to incorporate more help from guys there so it doesn't have to be just me doing the file work. @invader_star64 helped out a lot last season, and I think we can get a crack team to make it as efficient as possible and minimizing wait times between weeks. Everdrive State Converter - Converts Everdrive state to one that matches Nestopia states and thus can be read and uploaded to our Phile. Merge Tool - I don't have a link for this but we use it to be able to carry conditions and injuries over from week to week as well as be able to see the complete season stats with the Rom on the Everdrive in the NES itself. PLAYOFFS??!?!? - For the playoffs, the final rom save after all the final week's mergers are done will be hacked to put the teams in their respective places in the Playoff Bracket that Tecmo Super Bowl console seasons utilize. I saw this in action yesterday and about flipped my lid. In this case the Team Control in Season Game menu needs to have all the playoff teams set to Man. Once this rom is loaded, no changes need to be added to it. The two potential logistical issues I foresee and want to get in front of are: 1. How can we ensure that we are able to get a state that we can upload from the end of each playoff game? and 1A. If we do pull the SD card to convert and upload the playoff save state after each playoff game, how can we do this without making the wait in between games too long? I know there is a way to create files on the Everdrive that can serve as placeholders (and using efficient nomenclature) for save states so that one can choose which file on the SD Card to save the current SRAM to. I'm hesitant to trust this method without ensuring we have a good save to upload before moving on to the next playoff game. I guess my thinking is we can save that SRAM to the file and pull it out quick, copy it to another SD card and use the next SD card for the next game while we work on converting and uploading the state for the just completed playoff game. (Having the actual SD card not being used by the current playoff game being played will make it easier to pop the card (in its Everdrive) in to the NES and "push" the save to the SD card, using the methodology from season 1. I apologize for this last bit of rambling (stream of consciousness) We will work it out. 12. Ended up with 23 including old friend Ira M. who shows up at 12pm because he was calling the wrong Matt and went to the old venue first. (He lives in Florida and I had no idea he was coming) It would seem as those moving one's event back two months is not conducive to bringing in your usual crowd. We ended up playing double elim which was pretty popular. I found out the hard way that challonge sucks for matching up the loser's bracket so I'll get the final bracket out there tonight. Congrats to @randywags25 for winning. Richie B for 2nd Craig P for 3rd Ira M for 4th My biggest moment of triumph was Nebraska native Danny Noonan somehow intercepting a pass and destroying everything in his path for a TD

VERSION 5.25 Here is a collection of 1966-1994 Tecmo Super Bowl roms. I added the 2002 rom that I completed a while ago, too. It is by no means perfect or final, but I feel it's as good as I like it to be for now. I would like to thank all the guys at Tecmo Bowl.org., because it was all their hard work that allowed me to make these roms in the first place. In order to edit the players in a way that would reflect the seasons that the roms were designed for, and allow the game to feel and play a lot like the original, I had to assign player ratings that were similar to each and every player in the classic NES Tecmo Super Bowl. In other words, I had assigned the fastest running back (based on most yards from scrimmage, mind you) with the only 75 maximum speed rating, that in my opinion had been erroneously given to Bo Jackson. If anyone deserved a rating like that (I think nobody does, really), it's Thurman Thomas. He had a monster three or four years going, if you were to take into account of what he did on the field and where his team ended up in those years. But I digress. Although offensive players were a lot easier to rate, I found that offensive linemen and defensive skilled position players weren't and that a lack of info made them almost impossible. I can sort of live with that, though. If it wasn't for the internet, and Pro Football Reference.Com for that matter, it would have been impossible to edit any. I was at least able to edit the all pros for those years, making them the best at their positions. The basic formula I had to come up with when assigning player ratings had to be based on participation and production, not on popularity. Having said that, I had to be fair to all the players who excelled in seasons where their peers were either absent due to injury or failed to outplay their teammates. Keep in mind that some productive offensive players had to be replaced with Kick and Punt returners - with the lack of space on the roster, I tried to make the depth charts as accurate as I possibly could. (List of Edits) The 1966-69 roms for the most part contain Carther's rosters, as I had no time to edit them myself. I just wanted to edit the rom's menus so that it looks similar to the ones that I had created for the 1970-94 roms, which is to look and feel like the original despite the years that they were based on. There is supposed to be double base posts for the uprights in the 66 rom. Having said that, the upright cutscenes in the 66 rom are not all finished, mainly because I can't find where to edit two of them. Hopefully, I'll find where to do that some day, or even better, someone can tell me where to look for them. The playoff format works like it should in the 66 rom (thanks to Carther), but I couldn't fix the 67 and 69 formats that Carther created, so that the duplicate team playoff games are skipped. Hopefully, someone will post how to do that, as I don't have any inkling how to edit any playoff codes in the game. 1970-1975 roms contain only the 26 teams at that time. Team rosters and depth charts, as well as pro bowl teams, are all accurately edited to reflect their corresponding seasons. At least 99% of the players will have the correct name spelling, jersey number, for the most part his face image, as well as skin color. Accurate team city names. Accurate home and away game schedules and their actual dates. Helmet colors and logo designs, as well as uniforms, were all redone to be based on each year they were used. All playbooks were edited to somewhat match the team's yearly offense, but some liberties were taken to make use of every play that's available in the game. (game rules) 1966-77 roms were juiced a bit. Week 1 games will play like Week 3 if the player's team had been 2-0 in the original TSB. This was done so that a 14-0 win/loss season will play like a 16-0 win/loss season when entering the playoffs. 1966: double fg bases - to give it that vintage look before the slingshot design was made standard. 1966-71: hash marks are spread out (NCAA still uses this method) 1966-1973: 40 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too; front field goal posts (imagine them as being transparent when players stand on them, because I do. - field goal kicking length was increased to make up for closer field goal posts; ball will be placed at the opponent's 20 yard line after any missed field goals; no overtime in man games, as well as auto skipped games. Note: the overtime hack doesn't work as good as I would have liked it to - playoff games will end up in ties, but a random winner is decided by the computer anyway, allowing one of the teams to move on to the next round. This only applies to skipped games - "man" games will still go into overtime during the playoffs. 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1966: 4 team playoff schedule format. 1967-1969: playoff codes is not as is should be. Check above for reason. 1974-1977: 8 team playoff schedule format. 14 game schedule. 1978-1989: 10 team playoff schedule format. 1982: short season rom contains the 12 team playoff schedule format, as I wasn't able to implement a 16 team playoff format...not sure if it's even possible to do this, anyway. 1994: 30 yard kick off position - Tecmo logos are located there, too. All missed FGs will be placed at the spot of the kick. No two point conversion hack. Maybe one day someone will figure this out and I'll add it later. I hope. 2002: As a bonus, I added this rom. I had created it some years ago, but never bothered to post it on the site. Well, I hope you enjoy the roms. Cheers.

Tecmo Super Bowl is the greatest sports video game of all time. Now, 27 years after TSB made 8-Bit legends of Bo Jackson and Lawrence Taylor, TecmoBowl.org proudly announces the release of Tecmo Super Bowl 2019. This site's 12th yearly iteration updates Tecmo's NES classic with up-to-date rosters, graphics, schedules and play books for all 32 NFL squads. 22. This is the Tecmo Madison "Last Chance" Event Signup: http://tecmobowl.org/lincoln What: Tecmobowl.org Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament Where: Lincoln, Nebraska @ Barry's Bar and Grill - http://barrysbarandgrill.com/ - Located in Downtown Lincoln in the Haymarket - 235 N. 9th St Lincoln, NE When: Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 - Tournament Check-in between 11-11:45am, game play to start at 11:45 am How much does it cost? - $20. Pay at the event. There is an ATM if you're the guy who never has cash. Tournament Limit - Tourney will be capped at 64 players Is there a payout? - Payout will be for the top 4 finishers based on the number of people that show up at the event. I'm working on a belt/trophy for this year. Will there be food? - Yes they have a great menu. Format 4 person groups will play world cup style to determine seeding into a single elimination tournament. The semi final losers will play for 3rd/4th place. The amount of people to advance to the tournament and/or available systems will determine Rules Team Selection & Coin Toss: A manual coin-flip will precede each game. The coin-flip winner can choose the matchup (i.e. the two teams) or defer the matchup choice to the coin-flip loser. If the winner chooses the matchup, the winner is given the P1 controller, and the loser chooses his choice of the two teams in the matchup. If the winner defers the matchup choice, the winner is given the P2 controller, the loser will then choose the matchup and the winner will select his choice of the two teams. In summary, the winner of the coin toss either gets P1 and choice of matchup or P2 and choice of teams. “One Matchup Once” Rule: The coin-flip winner can only select a particular matchup once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Packers-Browns, Player A cannot call that exact matchup for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that matchup later in the tournament. Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes: Customizing playbooks is permissible. WR or TE at RB: A WR/TE cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. You can insert a WR or TE into a RB slot for lead blocking purposes, but he cannot carry the football. To further clarify, players such as Ernest Givins, Ricky Sanders, and Andre Rison cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. Ties: If a game ends in a tie after overtime, a new game will begin, and the first player to score in the new game is the winner. Lurching: Lurching is prohibited. If you want to rush with a DL, you must either go outside the offensive tackle or “popcorn” someone on the offensive line. You cannot simply go around your blocker and dive. Note that this rule does not apply to LBs. Nintendo Malfunctions: If there is an equipment failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start. If equipment malfunctions in the 2nd half, only the second half is replayed. In that event, the scores from each half are added together to obtain a final score. If the game was uncompetitive or the equipment malfunctioned due to human error, the tourney organizers reserve the right to declare a winner without replaying any portion of the game. Tournament Disputes: Matt Knobbe is the tournament referee. He will decide all disputes unless he is a player in the game. If he is a player in the disputed game, Jason Rolf will resolve the dispute. 23. I just stumbled upon this page a few months ago, and it motivated me to make a dedicated Tecmo Super Bowl cab that I can update each season. This is a 3/4 scale cabinet, fashioned after the Arcade1up style cabs. There are two USB inputs on the CP to plug in retro NES controllers for anyone who wants the real authentic feeling.

2020 league here to keep the annual trend going. Obviously I did not get my player edits done very well as my sim ended up with a Cincinnati/Boston WS. Excited for a full 2021. I really wish there was a way to expand to league to include all teams. 2020.lgd

  27. View File Tecmonster's Tecmo Super Bowl 2019 now available This game, Tecmonster’s Tecmo Super Bowl 2019, is based on the original Tecmo Super Bowl that we all know and love, but has been hacked and edited to a revolutionary extent! Here’s an index of the hacks used to create this game, in no particular order, with tecmobowl.org authors in parenthesis: -- 32-team expansion rom (cx_rom, Maynard, Knobbe, others) -- helmets, field colors (keithisgood) -- COM looks for open receivers (jstout) -- COM Ultra Logic to play better defense (jstout) -- moving & dynamic grapples (bruddog) -- MAN vs. MAN popcorning (jstout) -- sort receiving leaders by yards (jstout) -- more accurate attribute labels, like “Acceleration” (Tecmonster) -- kicking arrow speed & range to make FG’s easier (Tecmonster) -- COM minimum kickoff distance to 8yl, max to -3yl (bruddog) -- increase kickoff ball speed (maynard, bodom) -- increase shotgun snap speed (jstout) -- tougher to block FG’s by adding personal protectors (Tecmonster) -- increase QB fumble rate (jstout) -- decrease diving animation time slightly (xplozv) -- decrease handoff animation time (xplozv) -- COM “juice” edited (by Tecmonster) -- PA affects “catchability/interceptability” of the pass (jstout) -- set kick returner farther back (bodom) -- Ball Control ratios edited so BC means more (by Tecmonster) -- static schedules from week to week (bruddog) -- Quickness changed to Coverage (jstout) -- kick returners use their actual attributes (konforce, jstout) -- stats screen at halftime (xplozv) -- corrected playoff bracket (pambazos) -- MAN-controlled QB rollouts on the rollout plays (Tecmonster) -- LB’s moved farther back from line of scrimmage (Tecmonster) -- Run & Shoot QB’s almost never scramble (Tecmonster) -- “heavy pass” teams don’t pass quite as much (Tecmonster) -- REVISED PLAYBOOKS (I have drastically changed and re-organized the playbooks to make them more useful, logical, balanced, and modern), including: (a) new plays, like the Shotgun Shovel, Shotgun Zone Read RB R, Shotgun Zone Read QB L (with QB HP boost), Shotgun RB Draw, Shotgun Zone Read Red Sea (pass), Shotgun Zone Read X Fly (pass), Shotgun Zone Read RB Flat (pass), Pro Set Quick Pitch L, Pro Set Quick Pitch R, Pro Set Zone Pitch R, 1back Offtackle R, 1back Pitch R, 1back Pitch L, Run and Shoot Fire (pass), Shotgun XZ Cross, 1back Flare C, Pro Z Deep Post; (b) improved blocking schemes for many run plays; (c) some receiving routes for existing plays improved; (d) some receiving routes added, like for Oneback Flare A; -- COM avoids sacks much better + faster COM rollouts (Tecmonster) -- shorter onside kicks (xplozv) -- COM RB reacts to the defense sooner after handoff (Tecmonster) -- smarter OL pass blocking (xplozv) -- receiver jump/dive based on REC rating (xplozv) -- defender jump/dive based on COV rating (xplozv) -- COM minimum punt distance @ 50% bar (bruddog) -- Avoid Pass Block ratios edited so APB means more (Tecmonster) -- team rosters, jersey #’s, faces (Tecmonster) -- city name changes (bruddog) -- automated and accurate sim ratings (Tecmonster) Special thanks to bruddog, buck, and pambazos (zone read plays) for helping me understand play-making, and to tecmobowl.org. If you decide to make ANY edits to this game within TSBToolSupreme, then you'll very likely need to repair the rom afterwards because that program will break part of the moving grapple code and the game will glitch. So, here's what you do: I used the Translhextion hex editor to create a file, named x3ffc0, and have included that with the rom here. I'm planning to release the annual magazine that typically accompanies this game by Sunday night. Enjoy! Submitter Tecmonster Submitted 09/07/2018 Category NFL By Year

  37. Sorry for the delay in my recap - I've been utterly exhausted following this year and oh yea, my family and I are currently selling our home (open house this Sunday 2pm - 4pm!) and moving to a newly purchased home. Just minor life events, that's all. Also, quick summary/recap of Tecmo Jam Cleveland 2018: We sold a total of 77 tickets for 2018, beating our 2017 numbers - which was great! We had a fantastic turnout both days and I appreciate the continued support in the community here and beyond. We actually oversold the TSB portion of the tournament, selling close to (or around) 68 - 69 TSB tickets (some ppl buy the joint two-day pass and others buying one-day pass) with day-of registrations, last minute purchases, etc. We had 16 stations playing TSB with Group Play starting a little late, around 12:30 - 12:45pm, following the national anthem and Tecmo Jam Cleveland 2018 hype video (to be posted to YouTube later once i've recovered). Group Play lasted about 3 - 3.5 hours (double elim), with players in groups of 8, so we did 8 groups of 8 (64 man total, b/c of some no shows and what not, per usual - even having over-sold it). Bronze was single elimination all the way through. Silver and Gold were single elim., I believe in the first 2 rounds and then we reseeded to double elim. with both final four groups. So, at a minimum all players were guaranteed at least 3 games, whether they lost all 3 of them or not, which was a nice change from 2017. Based on Group Play players were re-seeded into Bronze, Silver and Gold Brackets: BRONZE: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandbronzeTSB SILVER: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandsilvertsb SILVER FINAL FOUR: https://challonge.com/eduqzjk7 GOLD: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandgoldtsb GOLD FINAL FOUR: https://challonge.com/n9iyr3au Players in Silver and Gold were then re-seeded in a Final Four, also attached above with links to Challonge. I did my best to log all the scores for posterity - thanks to everyone for communicating so well and getting me results to log real-time. I believe gameplay lasted all-in until about 8 - 9pm? Keep me honest if I'm off - it was a long day and I was beyond exhausted. Jordan Willis and Louis in the finals was incredible; and quite honestly, all finals match-ups, final fours, etc. were amazing. Troy did a great job on the microphone with Eric Kuhlman doing broadcasting on some of the top games, and I appreciated him making the trip out to be a part of this years' experience. NBA Jam TE was great the second day as well. We had exactly 24 competitors show-up so that made for great brackets. We did 6, four-man groups that were all double elim. Again, based on performance in group play, players were seeded in Gold, Silver and Bronze brackets respectively. So 8 Gold, 8 Silver, 8 Bronze. They can be found here as well: We just ran these through the entire-way as double elimination to get everyone more games. BRONZE: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandbronzenbajam SILVER: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandsilvernbajam GOLD: https://challonge.com/tecmojamclevelandgoldnbajamte Green Majic walked away victorious with some great games and hard-fought competition. This was great to see and an awesome addition from 2017 + it was just fun. NBA Jam play ended around 5pm(ish)? Again, keep me honest guys. Then the fun part began... I think I got home around 9pm Sunday night by the time cars were unloaded, I dropped off arcade cabinets at John's arcade, hit up a storage locker and more. I was utterly and completely pooped, and my back was just killing me too. Anyways, I think Tecmo Jam Cleveland 2018 was a great success and I owe a huge debt of thanks to a lot of the guys who have been Cleveland-faithful in helping me promote, setup, tear-down, etc. in the last 3 - 4 months and also on gameday. You guys are great - thanks. What I learned in 2018? Kudos to Chris Vogt, because he already read my mind and sent me an email re: 2019. I've felt like an ass for the last two years being really so close to Midwest Tecmo, knowing that they are both great tournaments - and truthfully I want to make the trip down as well, as I'm sure they want to come up. I've talked to so many ppl about this in regards and Chris and I are going to talk to figure this out for 2019. I 110% respect Chris' seniority and entitlement to the late July timeframe and I do want to move Tecmo Jam Cleveland 2019 out of mad respect for what they do as well and I am looking at options. In the spirit of full-transparency to the community, the timing has always been an issue for me as well for the following reason - my wedding anniversary is August 28, I had Hamilton tickets this year on August 25, I have a huge conference with work I am planning for multiple months which is the 2nd week in September every year at our software company, my wife, son and mother-in-law (yes 3 generations all have the exact same birthday - which is October 6), my dad's birthday is late October, plus planning for Halloween costumes, etc. with the boys around Halloween is a disaster, plus my other son's birthday is November 20 - so that is a mess too. So basically from August 20th+ through the end of the year (any year) my calendar is hosed because as soon as November 20 hits it's holiday season. Factor in the Cleveland weather which can kick-up any time with snow storms really early October - it could spell disaster - oh plus football season and MLB playoffs (if not world series again [hopeful]). So, long-story short. I'm trying to find something that works and I want the community to know I seriously am (as you can tell) looking into it and trying to come up with an alternative for 2019 because I do not want our two tourneys to be back-to-back weekends next year as it does nobody any good. At the end of the day that really leave me either pushing back a few more weeks in August, but not too close to our wedding anniversary date b/c I'm also dangerously close to the 10 year mark and I do not need a divorce and/or we usually take a wedding anniversary vacation around that time. I also want to work with Kevin Cabarello re: Tupa Bowl too, b/c again - mad respect to him and I don't want to conflict at all and give him the space/time he needs around scheduling (which is generally May). So really it comes down to either moving up in the June timeframe, but not close to Madison or anything else - maybe pushing to the 1st week of November in between Halloween and my second boy's birthday - i.e. 11/1 - 11/15 (but also knowing everyone will be in full NFL and college football mode, so I'm competing with that then too). Or moving entirely to the winter, but not competing with Tundra Bowl who I madly respect as well. I'd be open to suggest, comments, recommendations or more because I really want everyone to understand I know I am a relative newcomer to this community and I fully respect the boundaries and work that these Tecmo-lifers have been doing and they are owed mad street cred. So kudos to them and we'll figure it out in 2019 best we can. I just didn't want anyone also think I'm not trying, because I am beyond this and even more. Anyways, in summary - thanks for the support in 2018. I'm excited about 2019 - growing this thing even more. Growing Tecmo, growing Jam and maybe even adding more into the mix. Thanks for making the trip out. I hope you guys had a great time and I appreciate the support, knowledge transfer, collaboration, partnership, recommendations, suggestions and more. 39. Thank you to everyone that worked hard to make this happen: Kamp, you are just simply awesome man; Grip ran the grill like a boss; Vader was dealing with Windows XP on four machines; TBKing made sure the garage door stayed open so I didn't get a contact high; and Manyo wussed out on CIN/DET II. This was by far my favorite of the five tournaments I've attended. Rifle and I are already looking forward to next time! My favorite part was Manyo smugly asking me if I'd trade the trophy for an HSTL title, to which I got to reply, "Well I'd consider it, but I already have one of those." giGGles.

  40. In brief, while I have a spare moment on this hungover Monday. This was by far the funnest Midwest tourney to date. And I’ve questioned how that’s even possible by measuring past tourneys. I think the best part was being able to have lengthy conversations with TheRetroSportsGamer, RetroNathan, JoeyGats, Hendershot, and others. The smoothest tourney to date as well. And that’s thanks to people like AJ Fullam, the mastermind of pool play excel spreadies. Derek Ruble, the dedicated live streamer. Tom Stahnke who provided the RBI stream Friday and a hotspot to better our internet connection for our main stream on Saturday. Hake for being the setup/registration dude. Caitlin and Kaylin, the waitress girls who served our entire weekend at a Rick’s Tavern. The owners of Ricks Tavern himself. Yuengling. Mort for his plethora of Nintendo equipment. Our sponsors. My brothers. The David Fulcher Foundation and David Fulcher, things would never be where they are at regarding MWTecmo if it weren’t for him. First day of family staycation away from work, so I’ll have an in-depth recap from my point of view to post later tonight. Thank you to TecmoBowl.org for allowing us to showcase and advertise our Tecmo endeavors to the world to experience. Stay tuned for my recap and photos. Anyone who has photos and stories to share from this weekend, please post them. I love recollecting and hearing about them. ✌️

  41. I highly recommend going to the event as it is an awesome experience and Chris does things right. Personal highlights from previous Midwest Tournaments: -Apparently I was screaming and ranting during one of the tournament finals, I don't remember because I was kept in double bourbons and ginger all night thanks to a kind bartender who only charged me some amount less than the $100s of dollars I was expecting to see on my credit card -I returned the favor to Chris the next year much to Amanda's regret I would imagine -The tecmo was fun too

There will be a lottery for seeding based on your record after group play. It is based on the five possible record outcomes: Record - 0-4 - 30th seed will randomly be selected here, then seeds will continue to be selected until there is no player that was 0-4 left Record - 1-3 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 1-3 left Record - 2-2 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 2-2 left Record - 3-1 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 3-1 left Record - 4-0 - Seeds randomly selected until there are no players that were 4-0 left, 1st seed will be last player selected This seeding also determines the order in which the NES Sports Games will be selected for each player to keep as part of the Buy-In. -The Hardcore Tier List will be used for Bracket Play. Rules: 1. Tier list for group play. Winner of coin toss is player 1 and chooses tier. Loser of coin toss chooses team from tier player 1 selected or a lower tier. Winner of coin toss chooses team second from tier originally chosen or lower tier. 2. We will not keep track of teams used during group play. Choose the team that best suits you in group play under the tier list guidelines. 3. Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes. You are allowed to change your selected team's playbook before each game. Checking the change / substitution screen is allowed during gameplay. Once per quarter for each player is the recommendation. 4. All substitutions of any player in any position is LEGAL. 5. No ties. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. All OT’s will be 5-minute sudden death periods. If no one scores in the first OT, the second OT will be only the first quarter in a new game. This process will be repeated until a winner emerges. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in every OT period, the receiving team (i.e. team that gets the ball first) shall alternate beginning with the second OT period. 6. Defensive Lineman Lurching / Nose Tackle Dive / Any D-Lineman Dive is LEGAL. 7. 8. Tournament Disputes: Tom Stahnke and Phil Naumann are the tournament referees. They will decide all disputes unless one of them is a player in the game. If one or both is a player in the disputed game, a referee to be determined will resolve the dispute. 9. Competitors are allowed to bring their own controller, but it has to be an official Nintendo rectangle controller, official Nintendo dogbone controller, or the official Hyperkin Cadet NES controller. Live Streams: MARQUEE MATCHUP STREAM - https://www.twitch.tv/tgfnretro This professional live coverage will be voiced and broadcasted by Troy GBLAN, organizer and voice of the GBLAN Online Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament. Troy will be showcasing the best players this tournament has to offer from opening kickoff until the Tecmo Super Bowl Hardcore Championship Belt is wrapped around someone’s waist. I encourage everyone to check out tgfnretro on Twitch and follow the action that is currently going on in the Tecmo scene. The goal of this stream is to capture the natural essence of the tournament and get as many unique players on stream as possible. Want to play on stream? Just ask! We will do our best to broadcast your game next. Players that register and can't make the tournament with at least one week notice will be fully refunded. 43. This was a very memorable weekend for me. I get greeted at the airport by @mort1237 and @kevincabarello who treated me like royalty. I responded by demanding a Waffle House visit, and my subjects happily obliged. Armed security, drunk women, chefs cooking with cell phones in one hand, and an impending drug deal witnessed by Mort kicked off an amazing weekend. All that was missing was a Hepatitis C infection. We hit the Old North Arcade, where nearly everything is on free play, then went our separate ways as we all had a big day on Saturday. Nice selection of games, and of course I did some damage on the Mortal Kombat machines. At the recommendation of Kevin, we locked down a prepaid ATT hot spot with a built in Ethernet port based on his connection quality off his phone. In 9 hours of streaming Saturday, we didn't drop a single frame. @Jim Socks 13, @Woodshed, Eric Kuhlman, The Retro Sports Gamer, Louis, Mort, and The Ultimate Weapon all made guest appearances on the color mic. It was an absolute riot. The afforementioned Jim Socks and Woodshed opened with their own version of "In the Ware Tonight", which I believe is available on the Retro Sports Gamer Channel on Youtube. It's not to be missed. The setups were a plenty, and Kevin balanced playing, organizing with tenacity. Louis and Mort were a big help setting up early. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the overall event a 10/10 in my book. Way to go Mort for your victory, Joemama winning the Silver bracket, and Kevin for running a kickass event! Here's to next year!

  45. Happy Holidays everyone! Under my tree was an autographed Joe Montana 16x20 Tecmo Super Bowl poster signed by Joe Cool himself! Thought it would be a great raffle prize for the Jersey Cup! Everyone registered and in attendance will get one raffle ticket towards this bad boy with an option to buy additional tickets the day of. (Also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a picture of Joe signing the poster) 4 1/2 months until Tecmo returns to the Northeast!
