Tecmo Super Bowl 2024

The classic NES sports title, updated for the 2024-25 NFL season! Enjoy this version with the following features:

• Playbooks edited – Plays moved to different slots, edited running plays, removed ‘bad’ plays (no more T formation plays).
• 41 hacks in total installed. 40 hacks in the hard-type version, 26 hacks in the Vanilla version.
• Defensive players are setup for either 3-4, 4-3 or nickel defenses (RILB is the nickel back)
• Team uniforms edited so home team plays in primary uniform (NFC West teams & divisional matchups excluded due to limitations)
• Sim code updated for more accurate team results.
• Changes to text sprites, palette updates in various locations.

#1 - Base - Hacks Included:

2. FG length max to 67 yards
3. Punt length max to 75 yards
4. Add 'Hut' Pre-Snap Cadence to 32-Team ROM
5. NFC West SIM Fixes
6. Player 2 Conditions Fix
7. FG avoid kick block fix
8. TE sim fix
9. Change offensive SIM to 'out of 32' sum
10. Prevent schedule from being random
11. Fix Playoff Bracket (32-team game)
12. More NFL like QB rating value
13. TEAM ROSTER instead of 1991 ROSTER after Super Bowl winner end game
14. Set Pro Bowl Kick/Punt Return
15. Change Touchback To 25-Yard Line
16. 15 Yard XP
17. Set PR ball control to 56, Set QB Ball Control

#2 – Vanilla – Hacks Included:

SBlueman, you're 2.0 HARDTYPE virgin went 5-1, in my patented 1-off SIMs (of Week 1).  Only incorrect result was - ironically - the Big Blue (who in reality, lost).

Maybe that's because they're now the

Are touchbacks automatic? Or do we need to press a button when fielding it so that the game knows it’s a touchback and it’s not being run back?

Touchbacks on kickoffs work by either:

 

A: Being tackled in the endzone on a kickoff

B: Running out of bounds in the endzone on kickoff

 

I applied this hack using the great Tecmo Hack Setter Tool that @bruddog posted here:

Limitations of a game that's 30+ years old. Same thing with not being able to have an 18-week season.

would love a 2 point conversion addition, is it possible?

also updated rosters / team ratings so the Packers have McManus at kicker because i keep losing games because of missed extra points haha.

is there any way to make this playable with online opponents?

2-point conversion most likely won't happen. First, the code for the hack hasn't been shared by the mod author and even if it was it would more than likely clash with the mods in this edit. I do plan on releasing a final edition before the Super Bowl with updates, not sure if I will have the time to do a midseason edit. As for online play, you can play this online vs anyone who has the same rom on the other end and the right emulator setup. Check out this thread for more info:

Nevermind, I saw his post in the above thread about this. I guess it’s just one of the limitations of the game.

The snes version on this site has a full 18 week schedule. But missing 4 teams

Tried to download 3/0 P-2 hack version all I get is 512kB file and a prompts asking me what to open it with.  Srry, am new to this...sugesstions please?

Open the file with your NES emulator of choice on your device of choice. You can play on mostly any device that supports a NES emulator.

Love the game! I have found though that Derek Henry seems to be a little too good, he can literally break every tackle haha, playing a friend who puts him in at kick returner and he can take almost every kick for a touchdown by breaking like 20+ tackles and also does't seem to ever fumble. I have also found some issues with certain players who should be very and aren't - like Christian Watson for example

I have an idea that I'd like to see happen.... Is there a way to create a custom tecmo bowl game with Al Bundy as the star (replace Bo Jackson's name and face with Al)

 

Is this possible?  Do you take orders?  How much would you charge?
